The room and breakfast were nice & clean, but nothing extraordinary. What made our stay exceptional was Margaret at the front desk, who made our arrival a wonderful experience. She was so kind and personable, making an otherwise tiring travel day much more pleasurable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on future trips to/through Gainesville. Thank you, Margaret!

The room and hotel were clean, the check-in was very fast, and decorations were nice. We all slept well - I think the walls are well-insulated because our room was near the elevators, but we didn’t hear anything.
Stayed up late due to New Years, and it was hard to get my kids up for breakfast. Finally came downstairs and was greeted by Samantha K who was so friendly and welcoming. She was cheerful, helpful, and a sunshine to the breakfast room. She even helped make waffles for my kids. I had to bring up a plate/juice to my room for my older son who was still sleeping, and she was so observant and proactive, immediately offered me a tray and plate cover to help me bring the items up to the room.
What a great way to start the day, and we are now well rested, fed, and ready to continue our family vacation trip.

We chose the hotel because it has an indoor heated swimming pool. The room was very nice and stylish. There was a security feature on the door stronger than the chain that will not let the door open more than couple inches. The pool and spa were wonderful. Breakfast was complete, 2 waffle makers, eggs, bacon, complete breakfast, and the staff was working fast to make sure everything was kept filled. The only complaints were not about the hotel, but some of the guests. Very nice hotel. Great and responsive staff. And if you love Cracker Barrel, it's in the backyard! They have two luggage carts, an elevator, newly renovated, and getting very popular! Just be aware that children may become loud and towdy.

On 12/31 I suffered a large plumbing problem at my home making my house uninhabitable for 3 days. I needed a place to stay and made a reservation thru Expedia at Country Inn in Gainesville. Due to my wife having ALS and totally incapacitated I needed a room with a roll in shower which they had available and my reservation was booked and confirmed. When I arrived at the hotel the desk clerk refused to let us register and check in because we "were locals" and their policy is to not rent to people that live locally. Despite my explanation of having no home to stay in and having my wife in her wheelchair at my side at the desk, they still refused to allow us the room that we secured thru Expedia. Nowhere on Expedia nor on their own website do they state this policy. We were turned away, on New Years Eve, with no working home to go back to and no available place to stay. This so called policy is heartless and needs to be known by all those who may think about patronizing this hotel. We have stayed at other Country Inns in the past and have NEVER been treated this way. Shame on you Country Inn and the specific desk clerk of 12/31 for turning away people in such a situation even after having a confirmed reservation.

We sincerely apologize about the inconvenience our no local stay policy has cause you and your wife, we understand your frustration. It is never our intention to make any guest feel unwelcomed. We have this policy in place due to ongoing issues with local Gainesville and surrounding area residents such as smoking in rooms (we are a non smoking property). It is reflected on Expedia in the fine print that is listed before you confirm your booking. Under this policy we unfortunately cannot pick and choose who can or cannot stay with us otherwise it would be discriminating. However, we will definitely bring this to the attention of our front desk staff so they know to be more sensitive and accommodating. We apologize once again, and hope you enjoyed your stay at our sister property.

Although the marquee says renovated rooms it appears this might have been sometime in the past. The rooms are nice but not outstanding like the Staybridge Suites or Fairfield Inn. The furniture looks updated and the walls appear freshly painted but the carpet looks dingy. If you are Eastern European the toilet tissue will remind you of your homeland. If you're not you are in for a nasty surprise...warning bring your own supplies. I travel for a living and this hotel hands down has the worst paper products I've ever used. On the plus side, they supply you with full-sized shampoo/conditioner/lotion, there is a safe in the room and the tv has a lot of channels although many do not come in clearly since they use a dish. This is a nice hotel if the price is considerably cheaper than the other hotels I've mentioned.
PS Breakfast was a grab and go...all foods are high carbohydrates.

Thank you for your feedback, it is greatly appreciated. It our property has been renovated relatively recently although it has been about five years. We will take note of your comments and follow up with our staff and management. Our breakfast is a Grab and Go at the moment due to Covid, hopefully we will be able to resume our normal hot breakfast sooner than later.

The hotel was nice enough for a one night stop. This is a older hotel that has been recently renovated. The rooms were clean. The room when we initially entered was hot as the AC was not running. The hallways were not air conditioned as well as the elevators.

We stayed on the 5th floor and I took the stairs mostly as the elevators did not run as smoothly as I would like. :-) Honestly, I am not a fan of small spaces and if the elevator seems old and is noisy, you can count me out!!

I did use the laundry facility and it was nice and the machines were efficient.

The hotel offered a continental breakfast which was handled in a very effective manner to accommodate social distancing and ensuring everything was safe.

As a couple that travels frequently, this was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. The hotel was pretty clean so they have that going for them. But that’s about all I can say nice about Country inn & suites in Gainesville. I thought it was funny that multiple billboards leading up to Gainesville and in Gainesville for this hotel all had “highly rated” on them. We requested a refund for the third night of our stay as we hd to change flights and had to board a plane 2 hours away at 545am. The woman I spoke to(her name was Queen) on the phone before we arrived was rude and not helpful whatsoever. She happened to be behind the desk when we checked in and we got the same treatment as when I spoke to her on the phone a few days prior to. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were like doormats. So we paid for 3 nights, only stayed 2 and slept like crap the two we were there. We should’ve slept in the car.

Look at other options if available. The hotel hallways and common areas kept very warm, breakfast is still grab n go despite other properties going back to full service, blinds were not blackout and had to deal with a light outside my windows strobing all night. This property is obviously trying to save money st the expense of guest comfort.

The check in was a bit rough since their internet was down so the made a copy of my credit card, It was charged the wrong amount when the internet came up but a day later it was corrected. The bed was comfortable but the fitted sheet was torn, there is a large gap under the door so people walking down the hall talking sounded like they were in your room. The caulk on the whirlpool in the room has a 1/4 gap opening and was very unappealing. The washrag was stained with a red substance. The toilet did not appear to be cleaned from the last guest. The breaKfast and staff of the breakfast were the shining star of this property. We will stay elsewhere when we return.

We came down July 1, 2020 to visit Ginnie Springs. We stayed here and the customer service was fantastic. When we checked in the employee (we didn’t catch her name) was very helpful and recommended great places to eat. When we came back after going out TY was so friendly downstairs from speaking to us when we came in and out of the hotel to helping us getting our tv working. The employees have made it a great experience.
