We stayed here last night for a basketball tournament. Our suite was spacious, clean, and had a kitchenette, a living room, 2 bedrooms (1 king and 1 double queen) and 2 bathrooms. There is a great basketball court and a clean pool area. Melinda, the guest service manager was so helpful and accommodating. She went above and beyond to help us. We would absolutely stay here again! The location of the hotel was great...it was surrounded by some excellent restaurants and a nice promenade. This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to stay in Gainesville.

One night stay in January. Front desk was very good. However, hotel seemed to need either better housekeeping or remodeling. I requested a dog room which was accommodated (and I appreciate that Hilton has this type of room). The room really should have been deodorized prior to my arrival. It clearly smelled like an animal. My dog (very small) was never left unattended so it was difficult to get breakfast. However, she was put in the car and I was able to take advantage of the breakfast which was standard. There was a large splash mark over my bed. This hotel has potential just needs some TLC. All staff are pleasant.

Check in was awful, had to wait til almost 5pm to get in my room because it wasn’t ready at 440 after check in is labeled for 4pm. No attempt to try and accommodate me or appease me any way after having to sit in the lobby with all my bags as a Diamond member. Kitchen outlet was broken in the room, the refrigerator broke while there and it cost me a bunch of food.

The hotel didn’t bother to clean any rooms, my room was supposedly cleaned and sanitized prior to my arrival but the sea on the door had already been broken and the parking lot was empty but they claimed to have no other rooms available. Breakfast is a joke as well. A small muffin and a bottle of water is not breakfast at any other Hilton properties.

Stains on sheets
Breakfast was a muffin, bagel, and/or an orange in a small brown lunch bag. If the full breakfast was not going to be available, it should have been made clear prior to the reservation and the price reduced to reflect the fact. Won’t stay here again.

sammysue6, I apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay and I will pass this review on to the leadership team so we can address it. We don't put sofa bad linens in the rooms, they are available at the front desk upon request. Our breakfast does include muffins, bagels, oranges, grits, oatmeal, granola bars, assorted cereals, hard boiled eggs, pastries, milk, and orange juice. We are working on getting the buffet up and running again. Thank you for your stay.

Hot Breakfast buffet is pretty nice - includes Grits!
Mon-Thurs nights has complimentary hot food (changes daily) with complimentary wine & draught beer.

Typical suite room, but no burners in the kitchen. Just toaster oven, microwave oven, dish washer, sink and full-size fridge.

Lots of electrical and USB outlets at desk (but no USB next to bed). WiFi worked fine.

I booked a room late night on the Hilton Honors App for my son and two granddaughters I called to verify reservation and that he would have no trouble checking in. Was told she didn’t understand why I was allowed to book and pay for a room they had none available. I explained that not only was I allowed the app wanted me to check In online and I would be assigned room 308. I asked that she verify that room was occupied. She responded that no it wasn’t occupied it hadn’t been cleaned. I then asked that since it was a late night check in the app showed it couldn’t be canceled or refunded. She advised I would have to talk to central reservation. They were no help said properly had to cancel. So I called her back and she canceled and charged me for the room. No way to run this franchise.

I checked in around 11:45pm, and was not given any information about breakfast, housekeeping, or any info about the hotel itself like where the elevators were or where my room was in relation to the two different elevators. I was offered bottled water as a Diamond Honors member, only for the front desk person to realize they did not have any. This wasn't an issue, except that I wish I hadn't been offered water without the front desk person knowing whether or not they had any. The door to my room often got stuck and needed an extra push/pull to close it. The seemingly meaningless "privacy/deadbolt" switch on the back of the door didn't work. The rooms don't have a two burner stove. A microwave, full sized refrigerator and a toaster oven didn't feel like enough for me to consider making my own meal in the room. My key card needed to be reactivated three different times at the front desk. I noticed stains on the walls and carpet in the hallways, particularly downstairs, near one of the back exits and where the housekeepers do their laundry (the door was often open so I noticed it was there). I did appreciate the friendliness of one of the housekeepers I spoke with in the elevator and in the hallway once. She was exceptionally friendly and I enjoyed speaking with her. I also appreciated the help I received with my late checkout from the front desk person on the day before I checked out. All in all, the two bright spots weren't enough for me to likely consider returning to this hotel.

I should have known something was up when I received 2 emails from the front desk welcoming me to this property. Pre checked myself in and selected my room. They asked what time I would arrive 2 pm. Got to the hotel a little after 2 and was quickly told the check in was at 4. So why ask me when I am going arrive. Gentleman at front desk told me my room wasn’t available but give him my cell and he would call me. Right after I got to the restaurant we walked to I got notification through the app that my room was ready but it wasn’t the floor or room I requested. I never got the phone call from the front desk. When I got back to the hotel I didn’t see the gentleman and the lady at the front desk said they had a shift change. Wouldn’t you think she might have passed on my phone number to someone else. Port customer service. Light burnt out in the room and when we left their parking lot is pitch black. They need to provide flashlights to customers try8 g to load their cars. Needless to say I would not recommend this hotel nor would they ever see me again. The Himewood Suites we stayed in Birmingham the previous night knows customer service. Needless to say I didn’t get a feedback form to fill out. I did ask for a call back from the hotel but instead got a fake email giving me points. I didn’t ask nor do I want points. I just want customer service don’t seen emails to people if you do t intend to give them good customer service. My Gold status meant nothing. I would have like the bottle of water but alas that wasn’t offered n

While we do have all hands on deck to try and accommodate all of our early check-in and floor requests, the specified room type booked is not always ready before our typical 4:00 pm check-in time, especially on busier football weekends. We do typically notify our guests through the Hilton app when the room becomes available, but I am sorry if you were told someone would call and that was not fulfilled. This property is not up to Hilton or Homewood Suites standards at all!! It’s horrible!! The first morning, while showering the smoke detector went off. It was just my room so I called the front desk. The employee asked if I was taking a hot shower. I told him I was taking a shower but it wasn’t a hot one. He said that sometimes happens. What are guests supposed to do? Take a cold shower?? I asked how to get it to stop. His reply: when the steam goes away it will stop. Seriously?!?! I spend 35-50 nights in a hotel every year. I have NEVER had that happen!! Housekeeping comes on the 4th day of a stay. They did so as scheduled and brought new towels but did not restock the coffee area. Again, I called the front desk. I was told to go the front desk to get more. I told him my room number so he knew my room was on the opposite side of the property in a different building! Really? Isn’t the hotel industry in the HOSPITALITY business?? Why is housekeeping not trained to restock items in rooms? I will NEVER come back to this hotel and will tell my colleagues, family and friends to avoid it as well!!

Did you use their app to make the reservation? You may have selected to pay a deposit ni don’t think you have anything to worry about. Just show them where you had paid the deposit. Hilton is easy to work with
