the ice machine room was across the hall from my room this was my view. it looks about as clean as my room did. filth and trash everywhere. the only thing missing on the ice room floor was a pile of pubic hair- that was in my bathroom.

I will start by saying that my first encounters with the two gentlemen at the front desk were pleasant, they were very friendly! The room was OK & I did sleep well in the bed but like I said I have stayed in better hotels were less than $90. I was having a procedure done at Shands, I was too tired and had stopped by earlier than four to see if we could get an earlier check-in and was told I would get a phone call between 12 and 1230 and never received a phone call, I showed up around three and a different man was at the front desk and was able to get us into our room. The room was small and appeared to have been quickly cleaned. There were hairs in the bathroom, one of the shampoo conditioner bottles were dirty, there were some white stains of some sort on the bedskirt, there were bugs and dirt inside the light fixture and our patio overlooked a very disgusting drained pool that hadn’t been cleaned. I am glad that I bought my micro band with me and sprayed the bed and pillows because after having my procedure and having to go back to the hospital very early the next morning I was too tired to do anything else or say anything but the next day when I checked out I mentioned it to the young man at the front desk and he didn’t say anything other than he would just mention it to the maids. With Covid, you would think cleaning would be a higher priority. More thorough and not quick just to turn over the rooms. There wasn’t even a clean smell when you walked in the room

Check in was fine & it was nice to get a drink ticket for happy hour. Didn’t like them asking for email addy ‘so they could send promotional info’ but that’s us.
The room-we felt like we were staying in some friend’s basement-low ceilings & funky smells. See photo for view from triangle patch of a balcony (room for 1 chair).
The bar had ‘regulars’ and the wine pour generous but stale atmosphere and dark room (no windows! Only one balcony door) and LOW ceilings... not feeling the great reviews.....?!

Spent one night here. The room was large and very clean. Super comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. Great shower.
Just a few concerns...in room coffee maker didn’t work, hair dryer worked intermittently and the fridge was very loud. We noticed the fridge was plugged into an extension and wondered if that may be a safety hazard. All that being said I’m sure if we were staying another night those issues would be taken care of. Recommended.

We arrived in Gainesville late Tuesday night for the arrival of my niece. Wednesday we were in need of a hotel every place we call and got rates by told us the hotel policy for the check in time were 3 or 4pm. We arrived at Wyndham Garden and was greeted by Mr. Careem and he was very helpful and accommodated our needs. I would recommend this hotel to any friends and family that travels to Gainesville to book with this hotel. The staff is wonderful and very nice. Mr. Careem thank you for being so patient and kind with us we were away from home and you made us feel right at home.

The staff here were super friendly and helpful. I came down to breakfast like 20 minutes after everything had been put up one morning. The lady at the front desk, Evette, noticed I was looking to see if everything was put up and asked me if I had missed breakfast. She then went back into the kitchen and talked to the breakfast coordinator, Toya, who took everything back out and let me get a plate. They were super friendly and the service was truly above and beyond. The manager, Travis, was also exceptionally helpful throughout my 2 week stay here. He was very professional and the couple times I had some very minor difficulties he helped me immediately and fixed everything right away. The room itself is nice and spacious for the price. It is also on a beautiful little lake and many of the balconies, including the one on my room, had a view of it. As well as a television there was also a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was also good. The chef, Mike, does a good job. Overall my stay here was great and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in the area. Thank Travis, Evette and Toya for providing truly top notch service!

I don't know if I booked the wrong hotel because I've been seeing glowing reviews about this property everywhere. This was supposed to be my stopover before going to Tampa.

The rooms are in separate buildings with their own entrance away from the building where the checkin counter is. That check-in counter opens at 9AM and closes somewhere between 9pm and 11pm. CONFIRM with hotel if you are coming in late to see if you'll be able to enter your room. The door will be locked until 9AM and if you call their number displayed on the locked glass door, you will be forwarded to a national hotline of the hotel which in short will get you nowhere and eventually end up with voicemail.

On my way to my room, I saw about 5 young men sitting and smoking by the entrance of the building where my room was and they stopped talking and stared at me while I clumsily tried to figure out how to open the main door. I was a bit scared and I thought I was either getting mugged or if I'm lucky, gangbanged. I took the stairs because the elevator looked like something from a horror movie and the steps had candy wrappers, cigarette butts and a bag of trash. Finally, the hallway. The whole area smelled like cigarettes, weed and skunk. As I got closer to my room, there was a guy in his 50's wearing a sleeveless shirt standing outside one of the doors and you guessed it right--he was staring at me. And as I passed by him I could hear Hotel California playing somewhere.

The walls are SUPER THIN and you can hear the TV playing on the rooms on the left and right. If your neighboring rooms are leaving their TV on playing so they can sleep, you're out of luck. The bathroom smelled funny and they curiously left a plunger by the toilet bowl which got me thinking if clearing the bowl is a DIY feature when it gets clogged.

For the life of me, I do not know why this is even listed in the Amextravel website!

This place is nothing but a pissy pamper. The Indian from the front desk had a musty body odor. This place is a fowl stench of swamp thing mixed with hindu body odor. I think the owners are more worried about profit and not the up keep of this slowly deteriorated property

Alex was a pleasure to work with. He was most helpful finding places to eat and how to get there. My husband was having surgery the next day at Shands, Alex was quick to offer us Shands rate at check in, which was deeply appreciated. We stayed there two nights and I would recommend Wyndham Garden to my friends, I will definitely stay there again.
Warm Regards,
Beverly Daniel

We booked this hotel in July for a football game at UF. My husband had stayed here 6 years ago and had a great time. Well it has gone downhill. It is under renovation (which was not mentioned when we booked). The lobby is closed and you have to drive to the back where there is a make shift lobby in a hotel room. We had just driven 5 hours so i used the bathroom and it was disgusting. Dirty, no soap. We checked in and walked to our room. We were told it was on the second floor and to use the stairs at the end of the hallway. The hallway had holes in the walls, door handles missing on hotel room, blinking lights, the stairwell smelled of urine.

We made it to our room. There were dead bugs on the lampshade and my husband killed a spider the size of his palm in the bathroom. I felt unsafe and it was dirty.

After 20 minutes my husband went to the front desk and said we would not be staying. He mentioned all the above and especially the spider. The front desk person stated, “oh yeah that is a wolf spider.” Nonchalantly as if it happens all the time. We said we are not staying and we want our money back. They said we had to contact the sight we booked through and if they called they would say we didn’t stay.

We did exactly that and called Expedia. We sent pictures of the rooms disarray and how unsafe the hotel was. When they contacted the manager they denied everything. We only received half our money back. Then to make matters worse they charged us $100 for incidentals (not a hold… charged)

STAY FAR AWAY!!

This was an extremely frustrating experience to say the least! We booked this hotel way in advance of Fall Family weekend at the University of Florida. 10 days before we were to arrive, I received an email that they were unable to confirm my reservation which was not the case, as I forwarded to them the confirmation. Stated in the email, they wanted to relocate us to another hotel. Upon immediately calling the other hotel, there were no rooms available. Then Stayable Select just cancelled my booking and I was out of luck. I am forever grateful to Chase travel credit card, as they took over trying to find out what was going on. After several hours of Chase and Stayable Select going back and forth, Chase informed me that they were told it was due to construction. Fortunately, Chase booked me with another hotel that was significantly more expensive as that was all that was available due to the weekend event - at no extra cost to me. I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel, as they lied about my confirmation and then just cancelled it. I am sure they could get a lot more money for the room now, since it was so close to the event.

When we were there in early September, we were told there was a game day shuttle on Saturday, but it didn't run very much past the game time, so we opted to park in one of the parking decks. We didn't have any trouble doing that...
