We stayed at this hotel, as Gainesville was halfway home for our trip. The room rates seemed high but it is near the University. The premises looks like an 35 year old Quality Inn with a Hampton Inns sign slapped on it. The breakfast area is literally shoehorned into the lobby, so during breakfast hours, it's hard to see the front desk. To show the age of the building, out 1st floor room has an outdoor, exterior entrance. When was the last time you saw that at a Hampton Inn? The furniture and carpet was old and the furniture mismatched. They got a new dish cable system and had difficulty explaining how to use it (not easy!). Not worth $153++ per night. The location is not up to usual Hampton Inns standards. There are other more acceptable hotels near this location. Pick one of them instead.

Thank you so much for your review of our property. While we are an older facility, we pride ourselves on our customer service and our ability to take care of our guests. We do have exterior corridors, but only on the first floor because some of our regular guests still prefer the easy accessibility into their room or suite without having to enter the lobby. We also have interior entrance rooms from floor 2 to 4. Please be sure to request that on your next visit. Also, the breakfast area in our hotel has recently been updated and while it is smaller than some of the newer builds, we feel that the space is adequate for our guests at a 100 room property and I apologize if you felt cramped while here. Also, before the pandemic, we were undergoing renovations on our rooms. Unfortunately, we were not able to complete due to the outbreak and hope to start back up towards the end of 2021. Our rates do fluctuate due to special events, etc. in our area. While we mostly run in the low $100's per night, your weekend stay may have been slightly higher due to these reasons. We appreciate you staying with us and I hope you might give our unique and staple property here in Gainesville another try while visiting.

Our stay at the Gainesville Hampton Inn began with our check in. Jose was wonderful...... he really seemed to care and listened carefully to what we had to say ! He made our stay very pleasant ! The downside was calling to make our reservation......a very unpleasant experience! I think I was connected to someone outside of the USA .......he was VERY difficult to understand....it was AWFUL . I should have asked for someone in the USA !

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate you taking the time to send us feedback and I will pass on to Jose your comments. Also, when calling into the hotel, if you would press "0" you should be able to speak with someone at the property while pressing "1" for reservations does sometimes transfer you to the Hilton call center for help as well.

We only stayed here for a night, but it was an enjoyable stay. We booked a king one bedroom suite, which was a good size. Interestingly, the bathroom was in the living room instead of the bedroom. The room seemed like it got a light renovation recently, with new bathroom fixtures, couch, and decorations. The room was very clean and quiet. Be aware the door between the bedroom and living room lets all the sound in to the bedroom--something to keep in mind if you're travelling with kids. We slept well and had no major noise issues. Breakfast was better than most during COVID. It was a hot breakfast served by an attendant. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles were offered alongside your typical baked goods, fruit, yogurt etc. Never been crazy about Hampton breakfasts, but I was very pleased to have a hot breakfast considering most Hamptons aren't right now--props to this hotel! Contact with staff was limited but overall friendly. There was a power outage due to a storm when we arrived and the lone staff member at the hotel was a little flustered trying to open the stairwell, but she did her best considering the circumstances. Power was back on shortly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hot breakfast, recent renovations, and quiet location made this a Hampton that is better than most, especially with the current pandemic. Would definitely stay again!
