We booked this hotel to be near our son, who just moved to Miami, but to also feel like we were on a relaxing beach vacation. This hotel was beautiful! Very classy, beach front hotel with many high class amenities. We arrived at 2am due to flight delays and our check in was seamless! They even upgraded us to a beachfront room, and did not charge us for the prior day, which they could have. They have many restaurants on site. Everything we had here was amazing! I will say everything is pretty pricy but itis expected on Key Biscayne. If you are looking for something a little more reasonable, you may not want to stay near the beach. But you get what you pay for here and it is worth it! Some details: parking is valet $50 per night, easy to get your car when you need it; there are 2 pools, one for adults only and one for families so they really cater to both here. There is upscale shopping available on site as well. Chairs and towels are included both at the beach and pool, so there no need to bring those. They even have sunscreen if you need it! Rooms do have refrigerators but limited space as they have items for purchase filling them. No microwave. They offer full sized lotions, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. There are also robes, and a hair dryer. Overall, an awesome place with great staff who are very friendly. Highly recommend!

The Ritz-Carlton enjoys a great waterfront location in a quiet area of Miami which we appreciated, however the hotel was just adequate and definitely shows its age in decor and facilities. We liked our top floor view but our very expensive “standard” room was very small and definitely looks tired , and lacking in details like storage drawers, charging stations and convenient outlets for your devices. However, a key area of concern was their communication about the availability of the courtesy cars which take you from the hotel to neighbouring restaurants and stores. On two separate occasions, we were left stranded after our dinners as the courtesy car ended the night early. Thankfully with the first restaurant, Vinya(and they’re fabulous by the way!) , the owner secured an Uber for us when RitzCarlton’s front desk was not answering after we tried to get through for over 20 minutes. On the second night, we were told the courtesy cars ended at 10:30pm but when we phoned at 10:10pm, we were told that we were given wrong information and it was 10:00pm,and had to plead for a ride so we weren’t stranded again. RC did provide us with a complimentary round of drinks for the first night which was a nice gesture.
And check your hotel bill prior to checking out. Our bill had several errors and did not correspond at all to our booking confirmation rate. This was all corrected on the third try, but the errors were in excess of a few hundred dollars which I find unacceptable.
So overall, the hotel facilities and service levels needs improvement to warrant 5 stars, but fortunately many of the staff are truly exceptional. A shout out and special thanks to Martha who was our server at breakfast (a wonderful buffet with great options) and Martha made our mornings and stay very special and saved the day and our overall experience at the RC!

This hotel is not perfect but it's pretty good and we like it. We had a 2 bedroom suite facing the ocean with club access. The pools and ocean are delicious and offer good food options around it. Breakfast buffet was very good and dinner at the hotel restaurant was also very good. Gym is open 24 hours and pools are open for late night swimming. There was no foam roller in the gym; that's Gym 101 equipment. The gym can get hot near the windows facing the ocean and it needs more air conditioning. There was no bathing suit dryer but they did dry it at housekeeping within 90 minutes. They have a shuttle to take you to nearby locations such as the lighthouse and Boathouse Grill restaurant in the nearby state park. Club lounge had no newspapers on Saturdays. Housekeeping can take a long time to respond to requests and they are not good at picking up the phone. Friday night in the lobby is lively with kids and adults dancing amid live Latin music. Hotel is closing for renovation in May 2025 but we were happy just the way it is; i figure after the renovation you'll need a masters degree to figure out how to turn on the lights, shower and AC in your room. Just 30 minute ride to and from the Miami airport. A great place to use as a stopover for flights to and from South America or Europe. 24 hours here is a great way to recharge, especially if you want to just stay on property.

The location and amenities were very nice with the exception of the restaurants. The hotel is not quite as "plush" as other Ritz Carlton properties. The Key Biscayne location is a bit outdated and the furnishings do show some wear and tear. We are Titanium Platinum members and our room upgrade was a Club Ocean Front Double , Club lounge access. While we did get a very small room with an ocean view, we were denied club access. A call to Marriott Bonvoy did not rectify the situation. Bonvoy did their best as the reservation clearly stated we had club lounge access and that was one of the reasons we booked this particular property. We spend 102 nights at Bonvoy properties in 2023 so we know how reservations work. I went ahead and paid $350 a day for access as Bonvoy has assured me they will handle. I will update my review when I get confirmation of a refund.
The food was a big disappointment. Avoid the Mexican restaurant and Lightkeepers. I ordered a salad with a shrimp cocktail. The salad was wilted and tomatoes "mealy" and the shrimp was still partially frozen. The food in the club lounge was good but overpriced. We went off property to eat our remaining meals. It was worth the cost of an Uber for a decent meal.
The gym and spa were very nice and the staff very helpful. The pool was also nice and clean and the water temperature was great.
This is a decent resort particularly if you are traveling with family or friends and want to enjoy the pool and spa but if you are looking for great dining or a location near nightlife or shopping, you would be better off staying in Miami.

Great luxury resort for adult couples (like ourselves) and families. My favorite aspect was the adult pool, so large it never felt crowded, plenty of seating & staff circulating constantly to attend to drink & food orders, music piped in at a respectable level, so relaxing. The family pool looked like a lot of fun, still plenty of room for all, we would walk by to get ice cream. We were there during tropical storm Debby, some storms at night, it made our afternoon time at the beach great with nice waves, Walter was great with the drinks.
Started with greetings from Geo, lovely personality, & Juan Miguel/Andres Miguel/two names at front desk, friendly young man who made our check in so easy. Meal at La Cocina was delicious, our favorites were breakfast & dinner at The Lighthouse. The Dune had great burgers & drinks with real fruit, felt spoiled. Took advantage of the photography session with Sabrina, chose indoor because we already have beach pics, she was friendly & professional, highly recommend a session. The housekeepers stopped by twice a day to see if we needed anything (once during the day & once in the evening).
The exceptional service is what I will remember, along with the relaxation & elegance. What a great resort & trip.

Honestly, this is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at and absolutely worth the insanely high price tag. We went on a very busy weekend, but the service was awesome. There were so many random kids activities that popped up (baby animal petting zoo, crafts, mermaids at the pool, Sonic wandering around taking photos and high giving kids at breakfast) and random free things you would wander upon (ice cream, wine, more wine, guac and chips).
The restaurants were great and well priced and the beach and pool service were well staffed and immediate. There are touches that have left other luxury hotels like Prosecco at check in that still exist here! The only downside is this is one of the hotels where it's like a WWE throwdown for chairs at the family pool and lots of people leave a kids shovel, a book, or a singular piece of hair to claim 6 chairs at 7am and don't come back until 10. We did get off the wait list for a beach chair after 3 hours (after arriving at the pool at 9:30) so they definitely clear them, but they might want to be more aggressive with the chair situation during high booking periods. (This was only an issue at the family pool, the adults pool and beach were less of an issue.)
I would absolutely recommend this hotel - my kids begged us to return, which isn't necessarily true of every resort we've been to!

The first thing you’ll learn on arrival is that parking is $50 a day in addition to the extravagant price of a small, dated room with a sea view. Then you’ll have to deal with a remarkably unfriendly receptionist. And when you need the concierge, you will find out that he only shows up in mid-morning when rush-hour traffic is over. And that he is more unfriendly than helpful… Please note that we had the exact same experience when we came last year, so we were not just unlucky, and we would not have returned if there was another hotel on Key Biscayne. What is there to like about the hotel? The quality of the food, the friendliness of the few waitresses at breakfast, the fact that everything in the bathroom works perfectly well despite being about 25 years old, but most of all the location in a safe residential community on a long, clean beach in ideal for young and old and just a few miles from downtown Miami.

The devil of great hotel hospitality is in the details. In the case of this property they were not attended to. The staff was mostly the greatest, being welcoming and friendly - while professional. The gardens are exquisite, the pool areas are great for families, and the decor is of the grandest - except for the bedrooms. The two of us staying in a non ocean view room for two nights found the room to be very basic. Certainly the bed was large and comfortable, but the couch was not so and was placed so as not to provide any real view of the television set. The small round table had only one upright chair, so one of us would have to sit on the adjacent couch when eating room service. The shower was the smallest and the water pressure the weakest not offering a comfortable showering experience. The door to the separate lavatory room was so large, and so designed, that one had to stand behind the lavatory basin to be able to open or close the door. There is no in room coffee machine and a pot of coffee from room service is $16+ which is great revenue enhancement but poor service. The worst was housekeeping service. Having left the room about 10:15 we returned at about 3:00 pm. to find the bed not made and the room dirty. Calling housekeeping elicited the brusque response that they had until 4:00 p.m. to service the room. The rudeness of the response was astounding.
P.S. It is now 4:00 p.m. and still no housekeeping.

Mixed bag. The weather was perfect. Beats Miami low class culture that seems to have taken over since Covid. We stayed on the concierge floor. Food served was adequate but nothing special. The 2 restaurants on the premises were also just okay. We rented a cabana. It cost over a $1,000 a day. To say it was overpriced is a gross understatement. The service was poor. The cabana itself was worse for ware. To their credit after we told the front desk that we weren’t happy they took the charge off our bill! When you pay over a $1,000 a night for a room I think you deserve to get good treatment. I stayed at this Ritz years ago and the overall quality and ambiance has declined. Still a nice place to stay. Just below my expectations.

Hotel building: I am very glad to hear the hotel is about to undergo a renovation. It is clear for anyone with a pair of eyes that it is in urgent need of repair. I find it difficult to believe that the Ritz are still charging full rates and that people are still willing to pay this!! Anyway I won’t bang on about what needs to be done to get this up to Ritz standards .. but it’s A LOT..!!
Grounds: we loved the main lawn - kids played here a lot. The beach was great (although they need new beach chairs). Swimming pool area was pretty busy every day (I see they allow outside guests to buy day passes so that could add to the amount of people ).
Staff: we thought some of the staff could do with some further training. At the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman the staff go above and beyond and are unbelievably polite. At the Ritz in Key Biscayne, we weren’t always greeted with the warmth you would expect. However there are some members of staff who went out of their way and deserve to be mentioned:
- Kenny (young guy front door) very polite and well trained - Stefan and Miguel - front of house - both very polite and kind and helped us every day - William who does coffee at the cafe every morning- what a LOVELY guy.. so polite even with a million coffees to make. - breakfast waitresses were generally really polite and well trained.
Spa : women’s spa area was pretty run down. Like the rest of the hotel - needs reno.
Location: 10 minute walk from the local play park so great if you have kids.
Would we go again?! Hmmm..Maybe ..Probably not until it’s been renovated. Right now it’s over priced for what it is.

you can rent bikes in front of the hotel. i didn't get to the state park so i don't know how long it takes to get to the lighthouse or what kind of path is there.
We were pleasantly surprised: wonderfully warm water great for swimming, no rough surf, soft sand, and quieter/more secluded than the party scene at South Beach.
There are more places to choose from in the Key Biscayne area.
