Small property-I think only 7-8 cottages. If you want character and an old 1A Florida Keys vibe, this is the place to go. Nothing fancy but clean comfortable rooms at a reasonable price-close to dive and fishing charters.
We will definaely plan on staying here...More

Only stayed for night night, not long after Irma. The accommodation we had was small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. Can't comment on the staff after just one night, however the guy in reception when we arrived could not have been nicer.

It's not rocky and is generally calm on the bayside where this motel is. water is clear. Like all of the Keys, especially bayside, there is some sea grass. I happily go in and also use their kayaks. There are lots of pictures on their tripadvisor page showing the beach and water at the motel. You might want to look carefully at them. Depending on when and just general luck sometimes/rarely there are jellyfish...but then they are also found everywhere. I've seen plenty of people snorkeling around there, floating, etc. Don't expect big wide beaches like at Daytona or St. Pete anywhere in the Keys. If you take the time to get a little familiar with the Keys before you go it will help. I'd say it's a good place for kids to play and you can also visit other water access points in the Keys for different types of beach.
