The brand new Adults-Only Havana Cabana Key West sits waterfront in Key West, a destination steeped with charm and character. Taking nostalgic influences from the art and culture of our neighbors in Cuba, the Cabana is a lush escape from reality. Mid-century cars greet resort guests as they arrive, birds of paradise punctuate the outdoor landscape, and the sweet sound of Flamenco guitar can be heard poolside. Relax and unwind with a midday mojito or explore the town on a bicycle or vintage Vespa, as you indulge in the marriage of old Havana's soul and the playful nature of our island setting.

Good afternoon, I had the luxury of staying at your beautiful hotel from 02/16 till 02/20/2020. The service was inpeccable. The hotel was spotless. I have a few issues. First the shower is not good. All of the shower heads need to be replaced; adding a hand held mechanism as well. In addition, some type of hook needs to be added in the bathroom, behind the door and adjancent to the exquisite full length mirror. There is not anywhere to hang anything in the bathroom. Oher than that, the room was equipped with a fridge, micro, and a Keurig coffee machine. Lovely. The second issue that I had was your policy of the daily pass you offer. There were many that were there to enjoy your facilities for the day and some were not local. They just stayed somewhere else cheaper; and for the $25.00 per day INCLUDING food, I felt a bit cheated since I was paying close to $500.00 per night NO FOOD INCLUDED. It would be more advantageous for me to stay at another hotel and just come for the day for lunch and pool. Being a bookkeeper by trade, you must be losing money on the food. Your pool covers were beauiful and I even purchased two of them. That is another thing that you must be losing money on. Since you do not have to sign for them, I am sure that people take them. I did not. Let me add that Nick your pool towel attendant did a wonderful job keeping an eye on them along with beiing attentive to the guests. Every morning he brought me my ashtray since they are few and far between. A wonderful employee. My stay was not only comfortable but I felt like I was home. I did not want to leave. I will be back sooner than later.Thank you for listening. Joya Lodico

This was my 2nd time visiting Havana Cabana and I can not say enough good things about Havana Cabana and their staff. As you can imagine traveling during a pandemic can make you a little nervous but they made sure we felt safe and there was hand sanitizer all around.

The pool there is absolutely amazing and so if you aren’t comfortable being out and about you can sit by the pool (or in it) and enjoy some delicious drinks and beautiful views.

The bar tenders and servers leave nothing to be desired as they want to make sure you enjoy your stay! Nick, Dmitri, Brent, David, and Rhonda took great care of us and provided tasty drinks, plenty of water to stay hydrated, cleaned up our area, served delicious food, and even took pictures for us. Not to mention put up with a group of girls day drinking at the pool all day. All with smiles and lots of laughs and did we mention the impressive drinks and service?

Annette and Chris at the front desk always made sure we had what we needed to accommodate our group including room location, working with us on check in/out, arranging the shuttle service, and much more. They were very pleasant to work with at all times.

I would 10 of 10 recommend Havana Cabana to anyone looking for a fun place to stay where you can do a little partying but also have a quiet and relaxing place to sleep at night. Their food truck is phenomenal and they have a shuttle to get you downtown. Add all this with the service and staff and you can’t go wrong. My sister had the best time for her bachelorette and we hope to be back in the future.

Annette at customer service was a sweetheart and helped make our stay so enjoyable! Annette ensured that we had everything we requested and made sure we were comfortable. The guys at the pool were also so friendly and attentive, one particular, not sure of his name - went above and beyond daily to make sure we had towels and anything we requested.
There was one night that one of us encountered Adriana at the front desk and she was less than pleasant. My daughters room key bracelet became inactive and although we had at this point been at the hotel 5 days, she gave her a very hard time as well as an attitude. One of the bartenders, male, was very confused by simple orders and tried telling us the drinks we ordered were gross. Seeing the bartender also pet dogs with his gloves on was quite disgusting. Hoping the gloves were removed after each time he petted the animals, however, it would have made more sense and been better for patrons to see him remove his gloves, pet the dogs, then wash and sanitize his hands.

Other than the issues with the two mentioned staff members, our stay was delightful. Very nice room - we felt we had the best one on property! The hotel smells very good and feels clean. The housekeeping staff was always prompt with requests and courteous. We would definitely return!

This review is very difficult to rate. The hotel does generally look like the photos, and a lot of money was spent renovating the hotel however, it wasn't what we were looking for. Upon arriving at the hotel from the main entrance, I thought, "This can't possibly be the same place from the photos," but that's it. The exterior front entrance is directly off of the main highway, and looks more like a run down motel on first glance.
Once we found parking (which wasn't easy in front of the hotel), we went to check in. Once inside it was a completely different, renovated, spa type atmosphere. The service was fantastic and we were able to chck into our rooms early, which was a huge relieve because we had a red eye flight and didn't sleep on the plane.
We paid extra for an ocean view room, and honeslty I thought it was expensive for four nights, around $1300 which is even more expensive than the hotel we like to stay in Hawaii for example, and this resort is not beach front. I was really looking forward to our ocean view room, I wanted something relaxing. Our room however, was on the first floor, and our balcony jutted out into the parking lot and was surrounded by parked cars, and had loud highway noise and traffic. It was a strech to say we could see the water in the distance, it was 100% not worth the money. The garden view rooms which were cheaper would've been a much better way to go. Our room was not relaxing at all, I couldn't even keep the blinds open to the outside because there was so much traffic and people walking past our room.
Besides the price and ocean view, the room had really nice finishing touches, including hotel branded soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and even sunglasses for both of us that we really liked. The pool area was really pretty, and again had very nice atmosphere. The pool area was much quieter, and had a really nice bar. Again, the customer service was exceptional, and we wish we could've spend more time here.
There was a food truck for breakfast which was cuban. I was really looking forward to the food truck. I would say, again I was dissappointed. The food truck was suprisingly expensive: over $30 for two cuban coffees, and two egg breakfasts with chorizo which were ok. If I recall correctly, with tax and tip it was closer to $40.
Overall, this resort was not what we were looking for. I would've paid more money at a different resort to have an ocean view room that was peaceful, where we could actually see the ocean, and could have our patio door open. As expensive as this hotel was, I don't think it was worth it for us, and there are other destinations I'd rather go to for this amount of money. Generally, I'm a little bit of a spendthrift, but am the first to say that this hotel was not worth the price.

Second visit here this time with our 6 year old daughter. I’m going to make this quick due to previously reviewing this establishment. I was impressed before with the shuttle service ; wristband door key , boutique toiletries , modern gym, free smoothies at 12pm ,artwork and remained so this visit.
Now for the bad; rude unkept lacking of bookings for your favorite jailhouse front desk clerk. Loud music at a dirty pool until 23:00 .
Poor and limited food menus at the only food truck restaurant. Seafood should dominate in Keywest and a “Latin Themed”restaurant should reflect this given the variety of available seafood in the Keys. Not on this menu it’s not.
Implement your health plan (clean rooms every day) as you stated at checking in ,to disinfect rooms not let guests have to call for cleaning service .
Coercing guest to give 5* when you are not even a solid 3* restaurant is ridiculous!
Expensive even for Key West standards!
Not returning!

The location was okay, not the best it wasn’t in walking distance from anything except for like the Publix or Wendy’s. We paid a good amount of money to stay here for 5 days and they never once came in to remove trash or replace linens. And when we asked the housekeeper for a couple extra towels she got a bit irritated with me and didn’t say a word just handed them to me. The pool set up was amazing. I just didn’t expect to be forgot about with paying that much money to stay in their place. Also we checked out around 4:30am and struggled to find the front desk clerk, just to see her knocked out behind the desk!! We had to wake her up! So unprofessional...

We enjoyed our stay here. Location is very close to the airport but not to Duvall street, they do provide a shuttle that will drop you at conch republic restaurant and then it’s a couple blocks to Duvall str. The ocean is directly across the street but the highway is very busy to cross, I’d walk down to the light and then cross, there is no beach. The pool was very nice, but in the evenings i was ate up but tiny bugs they call noseeums. Bring bug spray. Our room was nice but you will only get clean towels, toilet paper or your room cleaned on request. You must go to the front desk or text for anything. When we checked in their system was down so we couldn’t get a room key, anytime we needed in our room we had to go ask to be let in. The 2nd day we got a key. There is 1 bar & 1 restaurant by the pool. The meal and drinks we had were good. The staff was very nice and helpful when we asked for anything.

I grew up in Miami and we used to go to Key West every few years or so. But my girlfriend who has never been here booked this hotel. I can see why, its looks like a nice enough place, and Key West is close to Cuba, so a Cuban theme would seem to be a good fit.

Actually not at all. Key West is its own place, has its own style, a world famous style that has little to do with Cuba, which is only 90 miles away, but a world away culturally. It needs to be explored and experienced on foot, outside the place you are staying. Key West is also really hard to get to. You have to fly way out to Miami, then drive 40mph behind traffic, for what seems like forever, before getting to the end of the country. Coming all this way to spend time in a walled garden resort themed on another place, Cuba, doesn't make any sense at all.

Then there's the hotel's location. It's in the middle of a suburban shopping district. To get to the quirky cute crazy place you actually came here to see, you have to drive past the shopping centers, the chain grocery store, the Home Depot, the U-haul storage place, basically a long way to get to old town/down town. You are literally miles from anything interesting. It advertises "ocean front" but it's actually fronting a sea walled, gulf side, water view, behind the busiest street in town.

Once you get inside it's ok. It's a nice enough Cuban themed resort. It is designed to spend time there; eat there, drink there, swim in the pool, play games on the patio, while looking at blown up photos of old Cuban people smoking cigars. Knowing what Key West has to offer, I kept thinking what a shame it was that guests here were going to go away thinking this is Key West. It's a strategic error to stay here.

They do offer a shuttle into where you want to go, but its adds the overhead of taking a bus both ways to your evening. We drove in and parked several blocks away from Duval street where you could still find parking. Walking several blocks in was a nice way to see all the unique darling guest houses we could stay next time.

For our own visit there were a few hangups. The room safe was broken and a door to a cabinet came off and needed to be fixed by maintenance, who came right away, but delayed us in seeing the sunset that night. We paid for a pool view but our room had a pool view in theory only, as you had to stand at the door and look sideways to see it. The real view was of the back parking lot. The floors were always dirty and my feet needed to be wiped off each time I got on the bed so I didn't bring that dirt with me. Other than these hangups it seemed like a well run place.

So glad to write this review and hope it will help others from making the strategic mistake of staying here.

Thank you for sharing your personal feedback with us. The location of the hotel is listed for all to see. In no way do we say or advertise we are located downtown. The hotel is Cuban Themed which is also clear on the website when booking. It sounds like this is not the hotel for your needs. Thank you for sharing.

We absolutely loved the pool at Havana Cabana. The staff was very friendly, especially the men who helped us grab chairs and towels and were constantly walking around asking if we needed anything (we think their names were Nick and Jaxon). Thank you! Food was yummy, not a ton of options and definitely overpriced even compared to restaurants in downtown Key West. Our overnight stay was not the best. 3 nights in a row out of the 5 nights we stayed we were woken up at 4:00 AM by false fire alarms. This was very frustrating for us because it was over half of our trip that we ended up sleeping horribly. We had to beg the staff to give us some sort of money back for this inconvenience, and we ended up getting the resort fee for two of the nights back which wasn’t much, but at least something. No apology, so I assume this must happen quite often there. Our room was dirty - mostly the floors. If you walked around barefoot in the room your feet would be black with dirt and dust. We did have a very nice TV with many channels and a comfortable bed. I wouldn’t give less than 3 stars because we did enjoy the pool and atmosphere, but disappointed in the actual overnight stay, which is a big part of choosing a hotel.

We are at Havana Cabana right now July 15, 2020 (currently sitting poolside typing this review). We have a full week booked, Sunday - Saturday, and are thoroughly enjoying our stay. The pool is simply perfect, and the staff is friendly, but if you are concerned about sanitation, I would advise bringing your own disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer to the pool/bar/outdoor area, as the sanitation of the chairs, tables, etc.around the pool seems to depend on who is working at the time. We have spent three days (one day for 11 hours straight, lol) at the pool, and if Nick is working, you are golden! He sprays and wipes the chairs, brings fresh towels and chair covers to everyone coming in, promptly removes used towels and trash, and is super helpful and friendly. He makes the pool environment very welcoming. Others tend to duties adequately, but I have yet to see any of them spray & disinfect a chair or make a point to hand deliver towels and chair covers to guests. Nick is the man!
