We had a one-week stay at the Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa to escape the cold weather, and we were not disappointed! Our flight arrived into Key West a little early, but the front desk was able to accommodate us for an early check-in, with an upgrade to a partial ocean view room thanks to our Globalist status.
The room was perfect for our needs. VERY SPACIOUS, an amazing amount of in-room lighting, the most counter space and charging outlets of any hotel room in recent memory, a powerful AC system to keep the room cool, plenty of bathroom counter space, sufficient towel hooks in the bathroom, and an overhead rain showerhead so perfect that it made us sad to return to our home shower.
The hotel is also in an amazing location, just steps away from the Harbor Walk, a short two block walk to Duval Street, and plenty close to all the action. At the same time, the hotel itself is in a very quiet location, with no perceptible street noise at bedtime. The hotel has a dock from which you can view and photograph the amazing Key West sunsets without the crowds of Mallory Square. The Globalist breakfast benefit was wonderful to have here, as the restaurant has a wide variety of choices, from which we sampled many during our week's visit. The hotel also gives guests reusable aluminum water bottles, and filling stations are plentiful across the property.
To be sure, this hotel is not inexpensive, whether you are paying in cash or points (the latter is what we used). Yes, this same amount of money or points could get you nights at a more fancy/stuffy or higher status hotel in the Hyatt system, but here you are getting a perfectly fine hotel (see above) in a location that can't be beat in early February, where the weather was sunny every day, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 70s. One winter just before the pandemic we stayed a few days at a different Hyatt resort in a warm weather area, the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort, and our stay at the Hyatt Centric Key West was far, far more enjoyable.
We had a late flight home on the last day of our visit, and the property was kind enough to grant us a 2 p.m. late checkout, which is discretionary with the property at Hyatt resorts. They also held our luggage and let us continue to enjoy the property on the last day of our visit since our flight was slightly delayed.
I don't know if we will be back to Key West anytime soon because, in a week's visit. we were able to experience all the things in the area that we were hoping to do. But if we do return, we would stay again at this property without hesitation!

The sunsets at this resort are absolutely breathtaking, and the views are truly amazing. There is a private beach and beach cove for guests to enjoy. For those who are handicapped, there is a public beach within walking distance that has a zero-depth entry point. It is advisable to wear water shoes as there are many sea shells and some coral in all locations. The water in the ocean is quite salty. The pool is not very large, but the hot tub is very hot. However, during my week stay, the jets in the hot tub only worked a few times. The rooms are spacious and generously sized. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to adjust the AC, as it was set to 72 degrees. The resort offers daily activities. One of the highlights is margarita time at the pool, where the staff provides one free drink to all guests over 21 at varying times, usually between 11am and 1pm. They also offer a wide selection of free pool toys, such as floats and pool noodles, for guests to enjoy. The on-site restaurant is amazing, although I only had breakfast there. Upon check-in, they provide one free water bottle and drink. There are hydration stations located throughout the resort, and the main lobby even has a flavored one. Additionally, there is a moat on the resort where you can pay 25 cents to feed the sea turtles. This resort is conveniently located near all the attractions the city has to offer. They also offer jet ski rentals on the property. Bonus which was extra specials thank you Hyatt. They also gifted my parents a complimentary bottle of champagne for their anniversary, as they had visited last year and this year. Overall, I highly recommend this resort to friends and family.

This hotel location is as good as it gets in Key West
We have been going to Key West 2 times per year for over 20 years and decided we would look for a new place to stay this time. We were hoping the Hyatt Centric would become our new go to hotel in KW based on its advertising and location. Needless to say we were a little disappointed and are not sure if we will return.
The staff was overall very friendly and helpful.
Arsenii was great! He was frequently communicating prior to our arrival and came personally welcomed us while we were waiting for our room to be ready.
The pool bar was fun, TJ the bartender was amazing! Very friendly and helpful.
The food from the restaurant was great, Jennifer (manager) went out of her way to make sure our dinner experience was great. She even asked us about our overall stay experience at the hotel.
This hotel is in need of some serious TLC in the lobby and rooms to start…
I ordered the welcome romance package that they were selling on the app for $100. It was an add on that I thought would be a nice welcoming gift for my girlfriend who was celebrating her 50th birthday. The package included a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals. Upon arriving to our room I was told that they could not “deliver” the complete order at that time. They were able to deliver the champagne and some of the sorriest looking synthetic rose petals that I’ve ever seen. The champagne was just the warm bottle left on the dresser with rose petals left around it. How hard is to to deliver the champagne in a nice ice bucket??? The strawberries were delivered the next day. So they were unable to deliver what they are selling as advertised but I was still charged for the poor experience. Not what I anticipated…. Shame on me.
With some updating, a better check in experience and the use of a little common sense, this hotel could be fantastic.

Stayed at this property with my daughter for a quick getaway. The location is amazing, on the water, right in old town. The staff are lovely.
We were checked in promptly and our room was ready. There was no "doorman" to offer assistance with luggage. There was no overview of the property/amenities/area upon checking. They do have a chilled water machine in the lobby, which is a nice touch.
The property is very old and the rooms need updating. They have individual old AC units which are very noisy. There are metal lamps on the headboard that are rusting. The outlets on those don't work. Our room only had 2 hooks in the bathroom, so it is challenging to hang your towels up to dry. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The website states that the pool was heated. Though the weather was beautiful (79 avg and sunny), the pool was very cold. Though there were guests around the pool, no one was swimming because the water was too cold. In addition, the website says there is a beach. This is somewhat of a misrepresentation. There is a very small area of sand that is roped off with beach chairs. There really is not a beach. The adjacent hotels have roped off swim areas in the ocean (Pier House). This property does not.
Lastly, we ordered food twice from the pool bar. Once we ordered a fruit plate. It was $19 and it was not edible. The fruit was not ripe/fresh. The other time we ordered chicken tenders and fries. The fries were undercooked and the tenders were very processed/likely from freezer. I do not recommend eating there.
As other reviews said, this property is not worth the high price tag + the $58/day resort fee, as I really would not consider it a "resort."

The Hyatt Centric in Key West is a very nice hotel that is close to everything Key West has to offer. We had a spacious room with an ocean view and a small balcony with a table and two chairs. We spent quite a bit of time out there. The staff is courteous and helpful and daily housekeeping is efficient and excellent—-plenty of towels, toilet paper, tissue, lotions, soap and bath products. The Four Flamingos Restaurant has delicious and varied breakfast selections and I’d suggest getting a breakfast package with your room. It’s worth it. I did not try the spa but that was because I just could not get an appointment; otherwise I would have booked a service. The pool is not huge, but it’s very nice and towels are provided in the gift shop which adjoins the pool area. Reusable aluminum water bottles are provided in the rooms and water stations are set up around the property for re-filling. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.

Our booking for 3 nights, for which we had confirmation, was mixed up and overbooking meant that we had to spend one night in a different hotel. The Hyatt staff (in the person of a kind and apologetic young man from Switzerland, Arsenii) helped a lot, but it was nonetheless a nuisance!! As a gesture they offered a free dinner at the Hyatt restaurant. We took the offer as it was late, we were tired and we didn’t want to look around. The meal was excellent and the very kind waiter (Turkish) contributed to dispel the bad atmosphere caused by the overbooking! The next morning, after breakfast, we moved to the Hyatt. We were assigned a comfortable room with a tiny balcony, a partial sea view but overlooking several noisy air conditioning units!
Later my husband went to give back the hired car and I decided to wash my hair. Unfortunately I didn’t check the presence of a hair dryer…and I couldn’t locate one! It took 35 minutes and 3 phone calls to finally get somebody who came to the room to ask if I had looked in the bathroom! I quickly convinced him that I had indeed examined every possible corner! He left and reappeared with a hairdryer! The next day we had breakfast and the waiter this time was a charming Canadian/American, who provided excellent service! Off we went to explore Key West and came back to change for dinner. Unfortunately the room was in disarray and had not been cleaned! Very frustrated we went to Reception and they sent somebody for a quick tidy up. Very, very unsatisfactory! The next morning we learned that the cleaning lady had said that we had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, which was a total lie, but of corse was the only thing she could make up to avoid being reprimanded! In the evening we went back to the hotel restaurant because we had good memories of the meal and the kind waiter, but we had a very brusque lady and a mediocre meal! Considering also that the place needs some looking after (scuffed paint, dirty panels and doors in the lifts), it is certainly not worth what they charge and it is evident that the staff needs closer supervision!

In the evening we went back to the hotel restaurant because we had good memories of the meal and the kind waiter, but we had a very brusque lady and a mediocre meal! Considering also that the place needs some looking after (scuffed paint, dirty panels and doors in the lifts), it is certainly not worth what they charge and it is evident that the staff needs closer supervision!

We returned to Hyatt Centric this month for a short getaway. As in the previous stay, the hotel is clearly among the best in the area. The rooms are large and clean and the grounds are well maintained. The breakfast we had was prepared well and portions were good. Aside from the ever present pigeons, it was an enjoyable morning watching the boats leave from their dock.
The bar area is our favorite since it is located next to the pool. The staff that serves was friendly and accommodating! Lisa and Agnes in particular did a great job of serving and making drinks. That being said, 16.00 for a frozen cocktail is steep but when in Rome. The Centric is close to many bars and restaurants, so walking is easy and quick. And it is a great place to watch the sunset!
Complaints; not really complaints but a few observations. Some areas of the complex seemed in need of paint and repair. The hallways especially seemed dingy and worn and there were areas of flooring that needed some repair around the grounds. Our faucet needed tightening, a simple thing that should have been addressed easily and places around the vanity and shower needed some deep cleaning. That aside it is easy to recommend to others.

The Hyatt was exceptional. The location was perfect as we came by boat from Marco Island and the boat pulled in within walking distance from the hotel. Also easy walking to Duvall street and Mallory Square. They provided bikes for 2 hours without a charge which let us explore the other areas of Key West.

The room was large, but the window shades all had large stains on them and looked less than attractive. The balcony had cigarette butts on it. The bathroom shower’s grout had mold and where the shower glass met the shower floor, there was a lot of black mold. There was also dust all over the walls, light shades, and tables. The resort pool was very small. It wasn’t exactly a resort, in my opinion, it was more of a hotel. Although it is rated as a 4-star property, I didn’t feel like it deserved that rating. I stayed at several resorts all over the Keys on this vacation and this was the worst one we stayed at all week. The location is excellent so it has that going for it. The property needs to work on its housekeeping and room cleanliness. Once that problem is solved, it wouldn’t be as bad. On a good note, they provide you with 2 metal bottles in the room and a Bevi water machine in the lobby so you can refill your bottles with flavored sparkling or non-sparkling water. It was great considering it was much more environmentally friendly.

Hyatt are nothing a like the Hampton Inn. They are in two totally different category's. Hyatt has class and rooms always smell fresh unlike the Hampton. In Key West FL Hyatt was on the water. I did not even see a Hampton Inn. Further more I do not see how your question is about the property.
We do not have Airport Shuttle Services. Your best option to take an Uber or Lyft from the Key West International Airport.
THe only one that I have been on is Commotion on the Ocean that has live music- as a matter of fact nine years ago we got married on one of the sunset sails
