Lovely location just blocks from downtown. It’s a multi building property with a lot of stairs. All in all it has the charm of a 150+ plus year old building with modern amenities. AND with all the peculiarities. Like a shower that sang to me the whole time. A padded chair that William Howard Taft once sat in-no padding!—a painting that was centered on the wall with a flat screen squeezed next to it. A narrow door passable only by 38 inch waist or less So why only an average review? Accommodations. Had to pay total balance in advance Was told we’d be in the same building as our friends NOT! They had a newer ground floor suite we had a 3rd floor older room. We paid the same amount We were told they were sold out and people ask for the same rooms year on year out so no chance to give us what we were told Snotty receptionist! Asked if we would have a fridge. She laughed at me! She tossed us a $5 coupon saying they no longer offered breakfast I would not stay here again but you may have a time…

We had no expectations but we’re so pleased with the Island City House. The rooms were cool (which was so refreshing after coming inside from the heat), we’ll stocked daily with coffee, snacks and towels. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and it is centrally located in a quieter neighborhood of Key West. Carlos is amazing and so friendly. He gave several suggestions and was very accommodating to all our needs. We rented bikes and absolutely loved them!!! There is a bathroom and private stocked shower area that was an appreciated addition. The only suggestion would be that maybe the bike rental fee be included in the price of your stay. Also, we were given water bottles upon request daily. But a self service water station or water that is readily available/easily accessible without going to the office would be great. Overall, we loved this place and will definitely return.…

I truly enjoyed my stay at Island City House. The women in the office were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful and there are many places you can sit and take it slow next to a Koi pond. My room was decorated nicely and the balcony overlooked the gardens. The kitchenette was a big plus too. The location is not too far from to Duval Steet and Mallory Square. I was able to walk just about everywhere I visited. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the Cigar House top floor suite #11 facing the pool first week of August, 2023. Lush tropical setting, koi pond. Nice staff. Bike rental $15/day on site. Parked on street a block or two away. Pepe’s for breakfast and Off the Hook and Onlywood a few blocks away. Keurig coffee maker stocked with coffee and tea. Full size refrigerator and small dishwasher. No elevator which wasn’t an issue.

Can't say enough about the Island City House Hotel - such a fabulous historic property with interesting history. Beautiful outdoor garden areas, water features, fish ponds, pool area with nearby bathroom and shower. Furnished with period furniture, yet updated kitchen and bath facilities, and appliances. All of the staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating in every way. Easy walking distance to all old town/historic district shops, eateries, activities, and sightseeing locations. I will absolutely be staying here again in the future.

This was our third visit to the Island City House Hotel; our accommodations and service continued to be excellent. This hotel is far away from Duval Street to be quiet, but it is close enough to virtually everything so as to be conveniently located.

Wonderful historical inn. Nicely and recently renovated. Great amenities. Lovely pool area to relax. Nice family one room suites with private balconies with chairs and a hammock. Staff were accommodating and courteous. Bikes available onsite to rent was great. Keurig coffee maker with coffees, creams and sweeteners in the room was wonderful! We would stay here again!

Beautiful old style Inn in center of Key West. Many rooms are suite format including kitchens. Appointed in older style, but charming. We were on the second floor with a wrap around veranda just outside our door. Quiet pool area. Easy walk to Duval street, restaurants and shops.

We love this hotel. Friendly helpful staff, lovely gardens, and great walking distance to most things in Key West. We have stayed her twice and would do it again. The little kitchenette is helpful to have since there is no breakfast offered but there are two wonderful coffee shop/ bakeries nearby. It makes for a lovely morning stroll. We have two kids who love the pool and the resident cat, Bert.

Our first stay at the Island City House won’t be our last. The rooms are spacious, the gardens are gorgeous, the staff are professional and courteous, the pool is warm, and if you visit over the holidays, the decorations are exceptional. We spent a week in a king suite in the Cigar House. It’s comfortable, not chic, and I wish the bathroom had a vanity rather than a pedestal sink. The pool area is unremarkable but the gardens and outdoor seating areas, both private and communal, are lovely. An added treat was chatting with Mickey, the wonderfully friendly grounds guy who was constantly hanging lights and decorations for the holidays. It was an outstanding week!
