You get what you pay for! Pricey but beautiful. Great location, staff was excellent, pool private and well amenitied. Very knowledgeable about local restaurants and water activities. Unit was spacious and nicely decorated.
After coming from the Southernmost Hotel and experiencing great grounds & amenities, I wanted to try a smaller property with bigger rooms. I found the Santa Maria Suites via Tripadvisor and gave them a call. I spoke to Matilda who informed me they had a suite that would accommodate my family (three beds, three bathrooms, two stories, with a full kitchen and great view). I booked through her on the phone since she was so knowledgeable and helpful (usually I complete my own bookings online). She let us know the room was ready for check-in and that "happy hour" with wine tasting was starting poolside. We walked over from the Southernmost and were impressed with the vibe at Santa Maria Suites. The happy hour was great and Patricia (the bartender) was awesome. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-located. I loved the balconies (one on each story) and the suite was kept immaculate by Yakelin in housekeeping. I enjoyed the turn-down service with chocolates (something that many hotels are skipping due to COVID). I believe that service can still exist and be practiced safely, and I will continue to book at properties that keep a commitment to service alive while being respectful of cleanliness. The Santa Maria Suites surpassed my expectations and we found it to be an excellent value during our stay in Key West!…
We stayed at the Santa Maria Suites Hotel with ourselves and 3 family members. The suite was perfect for us with 2 bedrooms and a pull out. The kitchen was fully stocked and fit our needs perfectly. The only thing I wish I had done was book a lower floor as the unit was 2 floors on the second level which meant a lot of stairs. Coffee and muffins were provided daily and the location was great for walking everywhere.
For a special celebration, we had three generations of our family stay in three suites at the Santa Maria. Unfortunately, we experienced near record cold and rain most of the five days over Christmas. Fortunately, Key West offers attractions beyond outdoor-only pastimes. The hotel is well situated for shopping and dining, and the suites afforded gathering spaces much better than we would have had with standard hotel rooms. The kitchen and washer and dryer were also appreciated when traveling with children. The staff was attentive and provided unexpected Christmas cookies and treats.
Santa Maria has been our #1 go to when we get the opportunity to get to Key West, which has been around 8-10 times in the past few years amazing location, clean rooms, quite pool & bar area and more importantly some of the best hotel staff we've ever experienced
Great staff and an excellent facility. Close to action but quiet location. Clean, quiet, two different temperature pools. Matilda was excellent, helping us figure out where to spend our time on the island.
Our two bedroom duplex suites was nicer than expected considering the price. Nice rooms and kitchen with everything we needed. Service was excellent with friendly staff, free happy hour drinks and nightly treats in room. Great location in town close to but not on the beach. The pool is small and shallow but nice for hanging out.
Santa Maria Suites is in a great location for walking and exploring Key West. A block from Duval Street and just a few from the Southernmost Point and Whitehead Street. Shopping entetainment and restaurants are nearby. The water excursions are on the opposite side of Old Key West but walking is manageable. No real need for a car rental as cabs and ubers are abundent for a trip to the airport and New Town.
Super nice people working, love this resort but it was cold and was not able to use the pool Would return to Santa Maria if the price was lower. Thought it was over priced per night. Key West is just a fun place to visit
Having never been to Key West we had no idea where to stay to be close to the action, yet could accommodate our need for 2 bedrooms. The Santa Maria Was an absolute home run. The suites were amazing, with everything one could want in a vacation “home”. The location was perfect for walking the sites . The pictures do not do justice to the beautiful pool and grounds. The staff was amazing from the front desk to housekeeping. The daily muffins for breakfast and ice cream treats at night were such a nice surprise. Both the suite and the grounds were spotless. Lucky for us, we found this resort on line and will definitely stay only here upon our return!!
