My husband surprised me with this quaint spot for vacation. Jim and Sara are wonderful. The facility is quiet, private, and perfect for a keys vacation. Definitely take advantage of fishing with Jacob-Into the Skinny Charters (works at the resort). He knows where the fish...More
Pines and Palms was a bit of old Florida, right on the beach but away from the high rise strips and noise and clutter. Quite secluded. Lovely bar by the pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. I truly hope to return here.

While I have not stayed here I have stayed at many places in the keys. There are not a lot of real beaches in the keys...each key is basically a rock in the water. If you want shelling the west coast of Florida, particularly Sanibel, would be the place. Most beaches are created by clearing rocks and dumping sand, then smoothing it out on a grade that gets deeper the farther it goes out. Walks on any beach in the keys would be a pleasure and sunsets are outrageous, particularly when you are equipped with a margarita!
