Oakwater Resort is a superbly located vacation rental community, just two miles from the entrance to Walt Disney World and close to many other fine shops and restaurants. Disney parks are quick 10 minutes away, Universal Studios is less than 20 minutes away, Sea World 15 minutes, Orlando International Airport 25 minutes and Clearwater on the Gulf Coast just a 90 minute drive away. So close to all the parks, but adjacent to Reedy Creek and lots of open conservation space and a lakeside trail. Whether you are here to relax, play golf, take in the sights or just have fun, Oakwater is the perfect place for your family vacation. Oakwater homes are INDIVIDUALLY OWNED. The resort offers great facilities, and being a gated community, is a safe place for your family to stay. The Oakwater clubhouse features a concierge desk where guests can get information on local restaurants and other local amenities. There is also a state-of-the-art fitness center, a wonderful community pool and hot tub/ spa, and a games room, pool tables and table tennis. The clubhouse also enjoys free wireless internet access, and there is a 50 inch plasma TV so that you can enjoy your favorite sports or movies. All units have wifi. The TV also features PC connectivity, which is ideal for business meetings, presentations and private functions. Children are not forgotten as they can enjoy a private playground, and a dancing fountain. There is also a tennis court, basketball area and a separate beach volleyball court.

I was really impressed with this gated resort. Accommodation was spotless (2 bedroom and 2 bathroomed apartment), communal swimming pool lovely, able to fish if you want to, access to a gym and games room and the hot tub in the evening was perfect. Convenient Walmart within walking distance. Only 15- 20 mins to Disney....so quick and easy to drive to. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a good place to stay and we would stay again. It is very close to Disney and Margaritaville with easy access to other parks and attractions. There is a Super Walmart just outside the gate but it is the most crowded Walmart we have ever seen. The large heated pool is very nice with a hot tub. The workout room is minimal and only open 10a-6p. The property is dog friendly with poop bins and a nice walk around the lake. Our condo was located above the garages so there was no noise from neighbors. Management needs to walk the entire property including the lake. Graffiti needs to be removed. Nice landscaping but trash needs to be picked up.

My family just stayed at Oakwater for a week through Airbnb. It was very quite and well maintained. The pool was also well maintained and clean. It's location is great very close to Disney World, Walmart is a short walk. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone.

Have loved coming to The Oakwater for several years now but this wonderful “Hidden Gem” is turning into a tarnished piece of coal. The beautiful heated pool is no longer heated, hot tub nowhere close to where it should be. There is a wonderful splash pad area for kids and there is nothing nicer to hear than the sounds of their laughter. For years kids would be in there having a great time. This year it is not turned on. How sad! The location of The Oakwater is great and we have always had excellent units. I hope all issues can be resolved soon as this is a place we really enjoy.

The guy running Oakwater ( Andy) did not turn the pool heat on for the8 weeks we were staying there. We have been staying in Oakwater since 2010 and all the previous managers kept the place in very good order. The place is now looking very run down, the streets are full of leaves constantly, there are paper masks everywhere, for 6 weeks the clubhouse water filter didn’t work there were no wipes in the gym, the clubhouse staff were rude and unfriendly when we asked any questions ( mainly about the pool heat)
For 2 days we were locked out of the pool because the manager didn’t pay the fees to the local government, he then went on to blame the previous management for the problem ( which wasn’t down to the previous management to pay)
The pool deck and chairs were filthy.
I think it would be a good idea to get management who would run the place as it should be and has been until the new management took over in 2021

We stayed in 2841 Oakwater Drive. The condo was beautiful, super clean and perfect for our family of 6. We had 2 adults and 4 teens. After a long day at the parks, it was super quiet and relaxing to come back to the condo and unwind. Love that the community is gated. Would definitely be back!!

Our family of 5 stayed here in May 2012, and we were very impressed. We had a large three-bedroom unit, which was beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. The unit was equipped with three flat-screen TV's, DVD players, internet, washer/dryer, and even a Wii. The grounds are very clean, and the clubhouse and pool are beautiful as well. All major parks are no more than 10-20 minutes drive - the location is amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our second trip to Oakwater and all we can say is WOW. We saw new pictures on the Internet and even a new YouTube video. It almost seemed too good to be true. We loved Oakwater before but now we would NEVER consider staying anywhere else. We found out that a new Management company has taken over and gotten rid of many non-paying owners. I am sure those owners were the reason so many unhappy people stayed at Oakwater in the past.
Don't go by the old reviews! It is completely different now. The pool area is superb with all new furniture and even music now! There is a new arcade and spa! We were even able to book a shuttle to the airport.

My family rented from Life of Riley at Oakwater Resort last year for 9 days and we just booked this year again for 9 days. The condo is immaculate and decorated nicely. The kitchen is well equipped, it has 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a washer and dryer in the condo. We try to go to Disney every year and have stayed at many different resort properties, I really enjoyed this property because it is much more private and less congested and the ground are well taken care of. You have your own garage and parking spot and the pool was never crowed in the 9 days we stayed. It offers all the comforts of home at an affordable price.

Stayed in florida 6 times now and for location and cleanliness oakwater is close to the top , we never stay in hotel rooms as condos or villas are so much better and just as cheap ,as you have loads of space to unwind ,washing machine dryer etc ,we stayed in the Bahama bay resort the previous year , it was nice but location wise the journey to the disney / universal rides each day was the let down , oakwater loads closer and class condos highly recommend !

Too late for this guest but for all future travelers, ask the owner who is renting you their home. Every condo in the resort is privately owned and some owners use management companies to book their homes.

Sorry. I couldn't say. We had a car and used it all the time. Never used any alternative. I would say that magic kingdom is about 10 - 15 mins door to door.
There are more places to choose from in the Kissimmee area.
