Small motel, room was ok yet clean. The bathroom was very small and remodeled but you had to preheat the shower to get hot water other wise you go in and turn it on and get a cold shower. The room was rented for 4 people and we only had 2 bath towels. The room was a non smoking room on the second floor yet there were chairs by it and a guy smoking which when you open the door some of the smell entered. the pool water was slightly green the ladies at the sign in desk were nice though. For 1 night it was ok but for longer stays I would go to another motel that offers breakfast

Don't expect a concierge or room service here. It's not the Hilton or Hampton Inn, but it's clean and has hot running water. I've read a few of the reviews and can honestly say I would bring my wife here for a short visit (I stayed solo for one night last week). The rooms are clean and comfortable (no bugs or stained carpets). OK, so my standards aren't very high; I've stayed in much worse places. My only complaint is that I found the bathroom in my room a bit odd- no soap dish in the shower, so you have to reach in and out to the sink for soap, shampoo, etc. Also, I found the sink/vanity to be rather strange (see pic); it consisted of a large round bowl directly under a cabinet that protrudes over it, so you have to duck in under the cabinet to get your head over the sink to brush your teeth. This might work out well if you're a dwarf but it was a bit cumbersome for me (5'9"). Other than that, I think this motel is fine for a short stay. I also like the fact that the desk clerk(s) speak English and the place doesn't smell like curry. It's a very short walk to the center of town, restaurants, waterfront, etc. and about 1.3 mile walk to the Tri-Rail station. It's no luxury resort but works fine for an average guy like me- as long as it's nice and clean, I'm happy! It also seems reasonably priced for the area. I will definitely return.

Very clean and remodeled and very friendly and helpful staff...traveled to Florida from NY and the best of all 5 hotels we stayed in. Would stay again and actually booked an extra night and did a 45 minute drive to stay again while in town

This property is unsafe and unsanitary.Avoid it! The smoke detector did not have a battery. The sheets had burn holes in them. The bathroom door did not have an operating handle. The lamination on the door was split open. There was a can of deodorizer to mask the smell of urine. There was a half of torn curtain that was serving as the door on the closet. And there was food under the bed and a dirty cup under the counter. The only lighting was in a bedside table that you lifted the glass and flipped a switch to make a bulb glow underneath.

We needed a room during a medical trip. We booked 2 nights and stayed 4 nights. Julie is amazing and makes you feel at home. Bed was perfect and great price!! Older motel but cared for and cannot beat the hospitality from Julie or warmth from everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

We were exhausted from driving all the way from Toronto. We arrived in the early evening and were immediately put off by the low end look of the property. What a dive ! We quickly learned that the managment was clearly more interested in money then providing a service.. The place smells of mold. Loud and noisy window air conditioners and stained, scratched up furniture are from the 1940s or 50s. Cigarette burn holes in the bedding. Tacky, faded art on the walls hanging crookedly. Dull, gloomy lights in the rooms with exposed, frayed, electrical wires. Hot water that lasts for 3-5 minutes. We asked for our money back but were refused because we were in the room for half an hour. We are quiet, older, people and my husband didn't like fighting with the rude owner who was really nasty. We stayed because we were on a tight budget. Big mistake ! The entire time we were there we felt ill at ease and uncomfortable. One sleepless night was enough. We scrammed asap. You get what you pay for....in this case we got a "di\ve" and negative contact with a really difficult , unfriendly, person.

After 6 years of being closed and over a year of extensive renovation, Holiday House Motel has re-opened under new ownership and management. We have lovingly restored the Art Deco motel to its original glory with added modern amenities. We look forward to your company and hope you will enjoy your stay at the motel as much as we do. In reading the reviews submitted by others I was astonished; who were these people? The Holiday House Motel was such a dive that my wife and I check-in, opened the door to our room, used the bathroom, and stayed only long enough to use the free wi-fi to book another hotel. What a dump!

Granted, hotels in Florida during high-season are expensive (the cheapest costing $100 per night) but what seems to be happening is that everyone has jumped on the bandwagon to fleece the tourists -- no matter how crappy their hotels are.

Riff-Raff clientele, curtains falling off the rods, dingy, old rooms... no thanks. I lost my $100 room fee and never looked back.

This is one of the better motels we stayed at while visiting USA. Close to some pubs and takeout joints which always comes in handy. It was nothing fancy. Clean, comfortable bed and a good TV with a lot of channels is all we ask for and got.

Motel was quiet and relaxing. I like how they had a porch area outside your room so you can sit outside for a smoke and watch the world go past. I like these smaller botique places as opposed to the big chain hotels. This one is worth going back again.
