Guests have called out the exceptional service and cleanliness, with a special nod to the diligent housekeeping team. We planned a last minute trip to FL and stumbled upon this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything went. The hotel could use a little upgrade in the hallways (which they had several signs advising they were doing this very soon).
If I could change (3) things about my room, I’d add a full length mirror, more lighting & a microwave. The booking stated there was a microwave but we did not have one.

Suzette at the front desk was a pleasure to work with, she was extremely knowledgeable about the area, transportation options, friendly and courteous. I enjoyed our conversations. She always addressed me by name when she seen me. She made us feel welcomed & always had a smile!

All staff members were pleasant and friendly especially the housekeepers we switch out towels and wash cloths for every shower and she never gave us any trouble when we requested fresh items.

I do have to give a shot out to the beach waitress! She is AMAZING! We never personally utilized her services but we had a conversation with her. She took orders and brought food to the guest in 100 degree weather while walking in sand, with a smile! Very impressive and a beautiful soul. The beach chairs & towel gentleman were great and we appreciated them.

The hotel has (3) onsite restaurants. We liked the pool bar restaurant the best. The food was actually pretty good! They have many options, we tried fish & chips, pulled pork, 1/2lb shrimp, a burger and tenders while visiting.

Just a short walk (.5 mile) there’s several restaurants and a night life with live entertainment options. Suitable for the entire family to feel welcomed. There is a publix grocery store, $ tree and CVS across the street. Free circuit ride around town ( you should tip) to get to several locations within 10 miles. You’re really in a prime location, far enough away from the noise but close enough to get to it within mins.

The beach access and pool were really nice. Our first day there was tons of seaweed in the ocean but days 2-4 there were none. Water was clear and you can see fish swimming in the ocean.

Overall, we had a great time. The staff members were respectful and we plan to return.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your quick getaway and that our location, beach access, and pool contributed to a great experience. We appreciate your feedback on the room and hallways. We’re in the process of updating these areas and your comments help us as look for additional ways to improve. We do have full length mirrors upon request and you may also like the Bungalow room type in the future as these come with a kitchen. The One bedroom suite also has a microwave. It’s wonderful to know that Suzette and our staff, including the beach waitress, housekeepers, and restaurant team, made your stay special. I’ll make sure to share your kind words with them—they’ll be thrilled to hear how much you appreciated their service. We look forward to welcoming you back for another enjoyable stay. Plung Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, situated conveniently on Lauderdale By The Sea, offers a delightful beachfront experience with a friendly staff and excellent service. Although we were graciously offered a complimentary upgrade, the room lacked the balcony we had originally reserved and could have been cleaner. However, the staff promptly addressed our concerns and ensured our room was thoroughly cleaned by housekeeping. The complimentary bikes provided added enjoyment to our stay, allowing us to explore the area with ease. The beach, bar, restaurant, and front desk staff were all welcoming and accommodating throughout our visit. Overall, Plung Beach Resort is a reasonably priced option for those seeking beachfront accommodations in a prime location near bars and restaurants. We would gladly recommend it to others.

We’ve chose the hotel to celebrate our anniversary and it was an excellent choice.
The hotel offers 3 options of stay : main building (across street) and Beach Tower and Bungalows (both few steps to the beach). The bungalow are adults only , with separate pools, so if you are traveling with no kids this is the best choice, since the beach tower has thin walls and we could hear a baby crying all night long. Then we changed to the bungalow and it was perfect!
Nice and large bed, good shower , large TV
Nice coffee bar (2 available )
Very nice staff: Suzette and Kent were the best.

Maria - we are happy that you chose the Plunge to celebrate your anniversary and that you want to come back ! It was our pleasure to serve you. The beach tower remains a competitive building especially because the Ocean Front rooms come with a balcony where you see the ocean. Your comments will be shared with the rest of the team as we anticipate your return. Please remember to ask for the repeat guest rate when you call.

The registration desk, bar, and small food/coffee bar were located across the street from my room, which was quite inconvenient. The overall room quality was poor and felt extremely cheap, much below the standard depicted in the online images. At one point, we even suspected a mouse might be inside the air conditioner machine on the wall.

The room quality was significantly below par compared to any reviews I read. It felt like a bait-and-switch situation, where the mid-priced place I thought I was booking turned out to be far from satisfactory. The resort was out of basic food items like chicken and chocolate chips, which added to the disappointment each day.

Overall, I felt tricked into believing I was getting a better experience than what was delivered. For the high costs associated with staying along the beach in Fort Lauderdale, I expected much more. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Plunge Beach Resort based on my experience.

On a positive note, the best part of my stay was the bartenders, who were friendly and provided excellent service. However, this alone did not make the stay worthwhile considering the price I paid.

We stayed in one of the Bungalow units. It was very modern and had what you'd expect for a king room. It was modern and our view was directly above the dedicated pool and overlooking the ocean. Fabulous view! The pool for the bungalows is small but dedicated to the bungalows while the larger pool next door is for the rest of the resort. The bar/restaurant on the beach was a bit pricey but not overly so given the convenience. Food was good and drinks were plentiful. They did have a happy hour but as you'd expect the drink options were limited. We had an issue with our TV not working and within a short time of reporting it, we had a new TV installed in our room! And one night my wife left her pocketbook at the bar and had a 3AM panic when she realized she left it there. We went to the lobby not really expecting any assistance at that hour but the security guard there was very polite and professional and after ensuring my wife was who she said she was, handed us the pocketbook that someone kindly turned in. Nice to know there are still nice people in the world! Plunge has several eating/drinking options on site, their fees include many things like rental bikes, etc. so it's worth the fees. The location is right down the street from the hub of LBTS so once you park the car, you can pretty much walk where you need to go. Loved our stay and look forward to returning again sometime soon. And we want to throw a shout out and thank you to the staff who helped make our stay memorable!!

We've stayed here 5 times and all of them were great except on this trip they upgraded us to the bungalows. It was not really an upgrade. Sure it had a kitchen with microwave but it felt like we didn’t have privacy. The lack of curtains and a rug made your voice echo so we heard other guests conversations and made us self-conscious. The front wall of the room was a large window with the door to the room. The 3 large shades you drew down for privacy left gaps so other guests could peer into your room at night. No room safe. No real closet and the mirror in the room was just leaning against the wall and not hung up on the wall. You could tell this was by design because no spot on the wall had a place to hang it. The room had hardly any draw or cabinet space and the decor looked as if a high schooler drew on the wall (and shade) with a Sharpie. There was almost no counter space in the bathroom. This was by far Not our favorite location on the property and when we come back (cause we do love being there) we will request NOT to stay in the bungalows next time.

Kmiket - thank your for writing your first review about us on your return visit. I am sorry that this gesture of a complimentary room upgrade with access to VIP lounge, luxurious branded bathrobes, Aveda toiletries, access to adults-only pool, turned out to be a room which was less than excellent for you and for your next stays, please check in with us if anything is less than excellent so that we can offer options and alternatives to make things right. A good resort that could be great. This little resort has the potential to be great if only they understood that their guests should come first. I say that because we made a few requests that would have made our stay much nicer, but we always got the same response. No! That is not the hotel’s policy. We were 4 guests in their premium beachfront rooms, yet we could only get 2 beach chairs and not 4. Where were the 2 others to sit? Why again did we pay an extra $41/night for resort fees? Our bedroom had two queen beds with one very large night table between the two beds, but no night tables on the opposite sides. The large night table was so large that you could only access the beds from one side. We had a nice terrace/balcony on the beachfront, but only two chairs to sit in and no table. When we asked for the extra chairs and potentially a small coffee table, you know the answer “not hotel policy”. Our air conditioner in the room could not be left on at night as the cold air was blowing directly at the unfortunate guest sleeping next to it. So we slept with the air conditioning off. That is fine until it eventually gets too hot in the room. Another improvement would be to give guests electronic guest keys in the form of rubber bracelets. Very practical and used at many other resorts. Now, enough criticism. The end result was we really like Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and this resort has some really nice features. Location is great, parking on location is great, access to free bicycles is nice, a Starbucks on location and a great beachfront bar served by a group of very nice waiters and waitresses all made our stay very enjoyable. We were extremely well cared for by Gergo. He really went out of his way to serve us so well. All in all we will certainly consider the Plunge on our next visit to Florida. Hopefully some improvement will be made to make our future experience even nicer. We also appreciate the hard work from Logan and the beach team. Patrick and Suzette at the front desk. Hopefully in the future, hotel policy will improve.

This hotel is right on the beach, across the street from a CVS, Publix and First Watch and a short walking distance to the downtown of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, which is full of bars and restaurants who do happy hour specials from 3-7. You could not ask for a better location. Your resort fee includes towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, unlimited cold bottles of water and access to bikes. Hotel is very clean and staff is very nice. Only drawbacks are the beach bar is understaffed, so service is slow (but the bartender is trying her best!) and the elevator is slow and overdue on its service certificate.

If you’re looking for a cozy working or studying spot where the music isn’t too loud and the vibes are immaculate, this is it. I came to the Bean & Barnacle to get some work done, and Dee and Dion were so kind and hospitable to me, even taking time to give me information about the hotel and the area, even though when I showed up they were already closed! It’s rare to come across people who are so kind and I will be back again and often solely because of my experience with them.

Thanks for your question. Confirming the information that your fellow travelers noted. Our main pool is open to everyone while our Bungalow pool is reserved for those who are staying in our Adults-only Bungalow rooms. And Backflip is right next to the main pool ... open to everyone! Is this resort ON the beach?
Answer from Joe Imbrogno
Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida1 helpful vote
Yes! We have four buildings and three of them are just steps from the sand. The fourth building (our Island Tower), is on the west side of a small side street (El Mar Drive), separating it from the other three buildings. But even that building is on the East side of A1A, so it's technically "on the beach". If you want a room assignment in one of the buildings on the East side of El Mar Drive (i.e., on the beach side), be sure to book one of our adults-only bungalows or an ocean front room. Or if you book a resort view room directly with the hotel, you are eligible for a complimentary upgrade to the Beach Tower, if available. Lastly, if you do book a resort view room through one of the third party websites, you can pay to upgrade to the Beach Tower, if available. We can't wait to welcome you to Plunge!

Hi Ronald! We reserve a small area behind the dunes in front of the Bungalows for guests seeking an extension of the adult-exclusive Bungalow pool experience. Chairs and umbrellas are set up in this area on request, but most guests prefer to be closer to the water and find a spot in the main beach area.
Answer from Joe Imbrogno

Hi there! We do have chairs & umbrellas on the beach. There is no additional charge for them currently, and they are available on a first come, first served basis. And no worries if you get here prior to your room being ready. We can hold your bags while you enjoy the pool and beach or hang out at our beach bar! See you soon!
