The rating system needs to be considerably higher for this wonderful BnB. Margo met us in the drive on our arrival and was as warm and welcoming as all the previous reviews had indicated. She showed us our absolutely beautiful, spotless room and explained everything we needed to learn about Omstead"s on Erie to ensure our stay would be as excellent as it was. From the site overlooking the lake (Erie) to the grounds that the property is on, there were numerous places to sit and enjoy the amazing view. Keith, the other half of this hard working duo, made sure grass was cut and all things outside was as well looked after as they were inside. The cottage restoration was so tastefully and thoughtfully completed and Margo and Keith took the time to explain all parts of their project. They were very proud of what has been accomplished and indeed, they should be proud. Then, to top it off, Margo's breakfasts were to literally 'die' for. My wife is celiac and there were no concerns at all. From the scones to the peppers with refried beans to the broccoli quiche on our first morning. everything was so delicious. What effort. What results.
My wife and I thank you both for allowing us to spend our anniversary at Omstead's on Erie. There is absolutely nothing we would have wanted that was not already provided and in place.
We would recommend this BnB to all. There was a pillow in our room that stated "Arrive as guests and leave as friends". That is how we both feel and we plan on returning.

From the moment Margo stepped out to greet us, we knew we would have a wonderful time. The location is beautiful, right on Lake Erie, with steps going down to a small beach. Margo and Keith have got to be the most welcoming, kind people we have ever had the privilege of staying with. Their B&B is beautiful, in keeping with a cottage vibe with all the modern amenities. And the breakfasts? Utterly amazing. It was all so delicious, and we both could eat Margo's bacon forever. The easy conversations, time spent sitting outside with a glass of wine and their other guest made for a truly wonderful experience. We plan on making the area a yearly biking weekend, mostly so we can stay with Margo and Keith again!

Holy BnB Review!! Thanks R&BJ, but you’ve made your own return bed here by being such lovely guests. Our pizza oven fire was a great backdrop for a very entertaining evening.

We stayed at this place last summer and it was one of the best vacations and definitely, the best vacation during the restrictions and worries associated with COVID time; the serenity of the place and the wonderful company of the hosts made my family‘s experience unique and memorable. I haven’t written a review until now because I felt I didn’t have enough words to make justice to this place and its owners. However, I was looking at photos taken during our stay and I felt so happy that my family had this amazing experience.
It is worth to mention the place is very clean, bright ( 5-star hotel quality in a cottage look) and the meals offered by Margo are a Michelin worth culinary experience.

From just walking up the the residence, Margo, the owner walked out to meet us. She was very pleasant and explained the business and area. She showed us to our room and pointed out the supplies offered. She asked us as to what time we preferred taking our breakfast. The room and attached bathroom were very neat and tidy. The outside grounds were immaculate and scene off onto the water was glorious. We dropped off our luggage and departed for our family function which was only a half a kilometer down the road. We arrived back at the BNB at around midnight and had no problem getting in with the combination. In the morning I was able to grab a coffee while Margo was preparing the breakfast. I sat outside at one of the three patio areas and watched the sun come up over the water. After a couple of great coffees we had a beautiful breakfast and met the other owner Keith. He was also very pleasant and answered all the questions that we inquired about. The breakfast starter was cream peaches on Greek yougart with rum spiked organic honey. Then came the spite pickeral and egg Benedict with hollandaise sauce on fresh baked bread with roasted potatoes and blistered peppers. Then came the the home baked lemon rosemary scones. There was one other couple in the dining area also enjoying the breakfast. We then stepped outside at the patio again to enjoy a coffee. Keith came and sat with us and Margo asked if my partner, Beth, would enjoy of glass of wine with her, which of course she did and the four of us sat for an hour and talked about many subjects. The experience staying at Omstead's on Erie BNB was wonderful and plans are already in the making to reserve our room again if the family reunion is to go ahead next year. This establishment has my top recommendation.

Omstead's is indeed right on Lake Erie. Even has a little beach for swimming. Alas, water too cold. But we enjoyed a lovely drink outside watching the sun/ water/birds.
Margo even brought us some salmon spread and hummus to enjoy with our drinks.
Lovely dinner- upscale fish tacos with a lovely apple galette for dessert. Then Margo offered several suggestions for breakfast, and we decided on French toast with maple bacon.....more about breakfast later in this review.
We retired to our rooms. We are two female friends and we enjoy travelling together but we like our own rooms/ bathrooms. Rooms were absolutely lovely. The online photos don't do it justice. Beautiful sheets, cozy towels, lots of light, mini fridge, coffee maker, everything anyone could want. We felt so pampered.
Breakfast OMG! We started with coffee and coconut yogurt with fruit on top. Then on to french toast. And a cinnamon sugar muffin as well. So delicious! Kept us full until dinner time. Breakfast the second morning just as spectacular.
We really enjoyed our two nights. Can't wait to come back! Thanks for a great stay Margo!

This was our first time “ever” staying at a BnB. It was more than we expected. We were met, after our five hour drive, by Margo and Keith and after showing us to our room we were offered a lovely glass of wine (beer for my hubby!) and a light snack with homemade bread. Our room and ensuite were beautifully decorated and great little details added. The grounds are beautiful, right on Lake Erie with many spots to sit and relax. I could go “on and on” but suffice to say we have already booked for next year. I told Margo that I could find nothing to complain about…….BUT….unfortunately I have to report there was one thing. The waves were too big for us to swim!!!! LOL
We wish Margo and Keith many more happy and healthy years to enjoy their wonderful BnB. Thank you both. ANN & BOB

Our fourth time staying here, and it just gets better. Delicious breakfasts with view of Lake Erie. Hosts continue to add niceties. Great for birding as they will accommodate either a 6:30 AM breakfast ( or pre- made if you are going out earlier). Wine at night. We are so glad the be able to go back up.

The phenomenal couple who own this quaint, quiet, B&B, truly showed remarkable hospitality! It was the perfect get a way for my birthday. The backyard seating which looks over Lake Erie, was exactly the tranquility we were looking for. The sound of the lake, and the waves against the rocks, were both mesmerizing and soothing.
We got supper from Taylor's Fish & Chips, which is only a minute around the corner; and brought it back to eat beside the lake. Perfect setting and sound to make our meal that much better.
Breakfast this morning was outstanding! I forget what Margo called the rhubarb dish she served us first. But it was my favourite part of our delicious, thoroughly thought out, breakfast.
Keith and Margo were beyond accommodating!
Making our stay one to remember.

Where do I begin? This B&B experience was outstanding from start to finish. The hosts, Margo and Keith, are the most friendly we have ever met. We felt like we were family. Breakfast each morning was a great start to our day. The food was always beautifully presented, delicious, varied and plentiful. Margo made great homemade baked goods too! She also packed us a picnic lunch to take to Point Pelee. As well, Margo and Keith made us wood fired pizza one evening for dinner. Margo is very knowledgeable about food sensitivities and enthusiastically worked around my intolerances. Margo’s attention to detail was evident throughout our entire stay. She changed the table settings (dishes, cutlery, tablecloth/placemats) each time we ate! Our bedroom had a fresh flower from the garden, our ensuite a towel warmer, many toiletries and different water glasses and bath towels daily. We also enjoyed the location - right on the lake - with different sitting areas both inside and out where we could play cards and games. What a fabulous getaway!!

First time to stay in B&B, great experience. A beautiful house with a wonderful view to the lake. It has 2 rooms and en-suite washroom. Margo made us the most delicious breakfast and served it in a very elegant way.
Super clean, friendly hosts, great location and perfect breakfast.
