We stayed at this place last summer and it was one of the best vacations and definitely, the best vacation during the restrictions and worries associated with COVID time; the serenity of the place and the wonderful company of the hosts made my family‘s experience unique and memorable. I haven’t written a review until now because I felt I didn’t have enough words to make justice to this place and its owners. However, I was looking at photos taken during our stay and I felt so happy that my family had this amazing experience. It is worth to mention the place is very clean, bright ( 5-star hotel quality in a cottage look) and the meals offered by Margo are a Michelin worth culinary experience.

Where do I begin? This B&B experience was outstanding from start to finish. The hosts, Margo and Keith, are the most friendly we have ever met. We felt like we were family. Breakfast each morning was a great start to our day. The food was always beautifully presented, delicious, varied and plentiful. Margo made great homemade baked goods too! She also packed us a picnic lunch to take to Point Pelee. As well, Margo and Keith made us wood fired pizza one evening for dinner. Margo is very knowledgeable about food sensitivities and enthusiastically worked around my intolerances. Margo’s attention to detail was evident throughout our entire stay. She changed the table settings (dishes, cutlery, tablecloth/placemats) each time we ate! Our bedroom had a fresh flower from the garden, our ensuite a towel warmer, many toiletries and different water glasses and bath towels daily. We also enjoyed the location - right on the lake - with different sitting areas both inside and out where we could play cards and games. What a fabulous getaway!!

I've stayed at a lot of places, including some very upscale, but this one was something special. Staying here was like staying with dear friends, if one of those friends just happens to be a world-class chef. Margo is a fantastic host, very welcoming, with lots of good conversation and great recommendations for local things to see and places to eat. The property is beautiful, overlooking Lake Erie, with beachfront access and patio furniture where you can relax and listen to the waves. The cottage rooms have comfortable beds and lots of classy touches of detail. All of that is great, but the breakfasts alone are worth the price of admission. Sure, you can request bacon and eggs if you're boring, but culinary treasures await the more adventurous who are willing to let Margo prepare some of her amazing specialty dishes. Every meal that we had was full of surprising flavor combinations and attention to detail. Practically everything is homemade, homegrown, or locally-sourced, save a few exotic ingredients that she had obtained during her own travels. Three courses and generous portion sizes make it nearly impossible to leave hungry. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'd whole-heartedly recommend staying at Omstead's.

Dear L & L, thanks so much for the lovely, extravagant review. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It was a true pleasure meeting and hosting such a wonderful father and son. Our GoT in-depths, our travel-on-our- stomach experiences, and all other discussions were a joy. Please come again anytime!
