Charming old B&B right on main street in L'Islet. Across the street from the Bernier Maritime museum. Janic and Christian are dedicated hosts. If you are able, make sure to have the 5 course dinner in the evening, (costs extra but what an experience! All food locally sourced, and Christian is a great chef). Breakfast is similarly delicious. Would have liked to stay longer but this was just a one-night stop on our way home to Toronto from Halifax.
We spent a delightful 2 night stay at the Auberge La Marguerite. Our hosts were fantastic people. Our room was large and spotless. The whole auberge is immaculate. The highlight of our stay was no doubt the food from the choice on the breakfast menu to the amazing 5 course meal prepared by our very gracious hosts.
Cute and superbly managed by very friendly folks. Welcoming at first sight, a great verandah invites relaxation with a glass of wine. Rooms are comfortable and charming. People are professional and welcoming, the food is fantastic. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. And on top of it, Islet-sur-mer is a really nice little village.
I am on a solo x-Canada cycle trip and stay somewhere different every night. Out of 50 nights stays this one is the best!! Old world charm, amazing dinner and breakfast, elegant building over 200 years old but modern improvements, excellent host and hostess, lovely gardens, a great night sleep, I could go on and on. I don't provide many reviews - this one I just had to!! Thank you for a special stay!!
Felt like we were in Old World France. Food was spectacular. Breakfast made us wish we'd eaten dinner there. The rooms were quaint. Warmly welcomed! Hope to go back again someday soon. A real treat!!!
We were looking for an overnight B&B experience en route from Ontario to the Maritimes and remembered staying at Auberge Marguerite a decade ago. What a delight to find it again. Even though the owners are new, the experience was just as pleasant as we remembered, and even more so. Although on this occasion we didn't have time (as it was late in the day when we arrived) to walk and enjoy the lovely town of L'Islet-Sur-Mer, or the beautiful back garden of the Auberge, we did enjoy a fabulous dinner and breakfast in their excellent restaurant - delicious and beautifully presented. The hosts are warm and friendly, and our room was very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay (including a small frig, tv and two lovely wing chairs). A great place to stay or visit one hour east of Quebec City, only a couple of kilometres off the main highway. Hope to return. Merci beaucoup pour un séjour très heureux, Janic et Christian.…
We stay one night in this cute hotel. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The room are spacious, clean and very well equipped. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to enjoy the garden and the spa. The breakfast is excellent, you have a choice of several types of breakfast; a real luxurious breakfast. Excellent value for money.
we put lodging into our gps on our way to Ottawa when the snow started falling. The closest place was this amazing BNB. The young cuople/owners were delightful, the room clean, comphy and well decorated and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic!!! fresh fruit, a choice of approx. 10 dshes with a side plate that wuold be the main course anywhere else! It has a nice courtyard with a big "spa"( hot tub) and probably nice bardens in season. We would stay again!!!!!
Excellent place to both stay and eat! Beautiful Auberge, extremely well-appointed, comfortable, clean, and charming. Gracious hosts easily accommodate those who are not fluent in french. Breakfast options are amazing and well beyond the norm. Would highly recommend booking for dinner too - our 5 course dinner was one of the best on our entire trip!
Fantastic Auberge in a quiet small village, offering warm welcome, great service and food, very confortable room, with a beautiful garden and spa. It is a good base for exploring this region, St-Laurence river
