Nestled on the beachfront, the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel Melbourne Beach Oceanfront is lauded for its striking sea views and advantageous central location. While the spacious rooms with modern updates and ocean vistas are a hit with guests, some have pointed out issues with maintenance and cleanliness.

We have stayed here a number of times but I think it just keeps on getting better. We stayed here for 4 nights and I didn’t want to leave. The check in was really easy and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are amazing. The beds are really comfortable and the addition of the toiletries in the shower are a nice touch. The atmosphere at the hotel is really relaxed. Couldn’t fault it!

I am a Hilton Honors member and have stayed at several Doubletree Hotels across the country, some of them wonderful, others just okay. As a result I really didn’t expect anything extraordinary at this location but I have been happily surprised. First of all, the Melbourne Beach/Indiatlantic area is quite nice and delightfully “untacky” as compared to some places in Florida like Panama City for instance. The beach at the hotel is lovely, clean and quiet too but the hotel itself is beautiful. The public areas are well maintained with an indoor restaurant and outdoor bar/snack area next to the pool. Our room was on the 9th floor with an oceanfront balcony with outstanding views of the Atlantic. You enter your room with a sitting area just inside the door with a nice comfortable sectional, flat screen and fridge. The bathroom divides the living area from the bedroom. I especially liked the setup because the sink is outside the toilet and shower area which facilitates easier preparations in the morning, and I loved the barn door to the bathroom which is much quieter than a regular door. The bedroom also has a flatscreen, good reading lights, a double closet and a safe. The bedrooms face the east so the blackout curtains are another feature which was greatly appreciated each morning. The balcony has 2 chairs and usually catches a terrific cooling breeze while you read or watch the surfers. The room seems to have been recently remodeled and the decor was fresh and lovely with comfortable bedding plus a handy full length mirror. Beach towel “tickets” are provided when you check in, and beach chairs and umbrellas are also available. Parking is plentiful and a parking pass is also handed to you at checkin but all of this pales in comparison to the customer service, and quite frankly that was the part of our stay that blew me away. We have stayed in top notch lodgings on several continents and the service at this Doubletree rivaled most of them. From the initial checkin and throughout our stay every single employee made it their goal to ensure our stay was nothing short of spectacular. The front desk team, the restaurant staff, the bartender at Seagrapes, everyone, were all extremely friendly and dedicated to a level of service rarely seen these days. The room and hotel were lovely but the customer service was what will remain the most memorable part of our trip to Melbourne Beach. Thank you to the entire Doubletree team for a very special stay. We’ll done!

This property is one of our favorites for the area. My wife and I have been coming here for 10 years. Each year we extend our trip by a few days because we enjoy it so much. Rooms were recently renovated in the past few years and in our opinion are in very good condition. All rooms face the ocean and have balconies. It is a 2-room suite with a pocket door separating the living room and bedroom.
The common areas by front desk and pool entrances are always clean which is certainly a challenge as this hotel has direct beach access.
Great for families, couples and business travelers. Restaurant has good quality food and service. We will continue to come here in late February and early March. The pool bar and restaurant are good and there are plenty of restaurants in walking distance as well as within a 10 minute car/Uber ride.
It is certainly a team effort at this property by all the different groups ( Front Desk, Housekeeping, restaurant/bar personnel etc) that always make it special. Give it a try.

I had to call my credit card company again cause no one at accounting would return our numerous calls. When we first arrived we were told they were charging an “ incidental” but would be reimbursed after our stay. Little did we know they are claiming we stayed four nights when we stayed only three nights. $270.85 is a lot to charge us when we didn’t even stay an extra day. The front desk said they’ll transfer to accounting or find someone but it goes directly to their voicemail and they refuse to contact us to just settle things. If you stay, just keep checking your account so you won’t be over charged. I wonder how many people during our stay had the same issue.

Stayed here for a week in March 2021 and again in 2022. Got a Diamond upgrade both years to a south end unit on a top floor and got in early when we arrived the first day (Thank you Tony and Rachel). The two room suites are small compared to typical Doubletrees or Embassy, but perfect for a couple or family with small kids. People complain about the smoked glass on the bathroom door or the outside entry but get over it. All rooms face the beach and Atlantic directly. How can you beat that? All rooms have a mini fridge and microwave. The balcony isn't huge but is large enough to sit out on. The Sea Grapes restaurant on site is great and the staff excellent The incredible hotel staff is constantly cleaning the lobby area as people drag sand in from the beach. The pool area is nice and the beach is well maintained. 2 loungers and an umbrella and table are available at $40/day. Hot breakfast is excellent with made-to-order items available at $16.95 pp and as a Diamond you get $15 pp daily credit. Seriously just make breakfast $15. There is also a daily parking fee which stinks and no Diamond parking slots. Melbourne airport is 10 minutes away. Sushi Haru is excellent and walkable from the hotel. Cuban Islands restaurant and Islands Fish Grill are close and great choices. We are Diamonds and travel about every week for work and stay at Hilton properties. The Doubletree Melbourne Beach is one of our favorites. We will be Back.

My wife and I were on a couple day swing down the Atlantic coast of Florida and booked a room at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton in Melbourne Beach. For $200/night, we expected much more than we received. First of all they charge an additional $16/night to just park in their lot. We ate at their restaurant, and their food was, I hate to use the word, but terrible. I ordered a flat bread pizza and basically got some cheese and veggies on what I can only describe as a "pop tart" type crust, that was clearly a commercial processed product. I ate the topping, but the curst was nothing more than a slab of processed dough. My wife had a chicken sandwich which also was very subpar, and the pickle that came with it was wilted and dry. The hallway carpet and in the room were both "dingy", and the room did not seem clean at all. There were stains on the comforter, the wall and furniture. In the morning, all they had was a coffee pot in the lobby with miniature styrofoam cups like you would find in a cheap gas station. Nothing else available. The hotel looks like it had seen many years of hard partying spring breakers and other than a fresh coat of paint, seemed to be decaying underneath. A total disappointing experience, and I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

We spent a week at this hotel while our grandson played baseball in Viera. Every staff member was very accommodating and friendly - front desk, maintenance, cleaning service, restaurant staff. We ate breakfast most mornings at the hotel. The breakfast bar is reasonably priced with made to order omelets that were very good. We returned from the game late one evening and ordered a pizza from the restaurant; it was good, too. You can request room service, or order from 5 different local restaurants that deliver to the hotel. The rooms provided plenty of space, plenty of towels including beach towels (located a front desk or poolside), comfortable beds, and view of the ocean from room and small balcony. There is a television in the sitting area and in the bedroom. There is a microwave, mini refrigerator, and safe. You can request housekeeping to come any day of your stay. The beach was very good. You can purchase 2 loungers and an umbrella for about $35.00-$40.00 per day. If you leave for lunch or a nap in your room, your lounge seating will be there when you return.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Although the exterior is dated, the interior spaces are recently renovated and comfortable. An ocean view suite with a separate living space for under $300 per night on a weekend is a great value. Melbourne Beach is a beautiful beach and not too crowded. Two chairs + an umbrella goes for $40 per day, but given the affordable nightly rates for the hotel, this is still an overall good value. The property has a pool and hot tub that are both too small, but it was still enjoyable. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Even the breakfast was reasonable at $12 for a classic American breakfast. My two disappointments were the hotel charging for parking when the lot is plenty large for all of the guests' cars and not having regular room service. There is no excuse for hotels to have not figured out how to have daily room service after more than 18 months of the pandemic. At a minimum they could come by and take the trash and drop off fresh towels each day.

Hotel management requested text feedback on our stay using a 10 scale, this was my response;
“Thanks for your inquiry, the hotel location, room views, food services, and staff all deserves 10s. Unfortunately the room cleanliness is a 3 or 4. It’s tired with many flaws and needs a deep cleaning. Some of the common areas also could use some attention. My wife and I travel quite a bit and we were disappointed. That being said we are still enjoying our stay. If I could make one other suggestion it would be to drop the parking fees ($12.50p/night), include them with the room charges.” This Double Tree is an older hotel and like many of these Florida beach hotels it’s showing some wear and tear. With Covid hopefully on the retreat maybe the time has come that daily housekeeping is now reinstated, unless a guest opts out. This may eliminate some of the issues we encountered at the hotel.
As I stated in my note back to management we did enjoy our time on the property.

I must say the view is spectacular of the beach / ocean, been that way for the 20 years we have been coming here, way before it was a hilton property. After “renovating “ each tower of rooms I guess the attitude by realatively new ownership is stop there. They lack the commitment to take a pressure washer to the filthy 1st floor rooms walk way, the one you all will walk on, Almost never see them wiping down scuzzy elevators, the poolside widows still flood the hall when it rains, if you love ants this is the place because they are always here. The new pullout beds in room 709 have so much bio matter Stevie Wonder could see it. The staff are amazing so is the food. This DT stands out as a falling star, and could be so much better if they would invest in their investment and their guests. Also thanks for selling Honors rooms for “Upgrades” rather them giving them to their loyal Gold members as promised. Your motivation is self serving.

The construction was being done one one of the two buildings when I was there. It didn't bother me at all. I sat on the patio area and didn't notice any disturbances. Hope that helps.
There is a concession on the beach that rents lounge chairs, etc. You can order drinks & food at the poolside bar, there is no table service on the beach.
As far as I remember, there are only steps down to the beach on DoubleTree property. There's a lift for the hot tub and also a lift for the swimming pool. There is a public access just north of the property a couple of hundred feet. But it's just a Sandy path with some landscape fabric laying down on it to prevent erosion. If your wheelchair was a little bit SUV ish you'd be okay using it.
There are more places to choose from in the Melbourne area.
