We booked a room for a Friday night in January at this hotel mainly because it was a Hilton brand hotel with a good reduced rate for seniors and because of its free pickup at the airport and shuttle availability to the cruise port. The hotel, however, was a disappointment. It was just small things that made it fall short of what we expected from a Hilton brand. While the renovated lobby with its café and a section for buying snacks and refreshments gave a good impression, the inside of the elevator to the rooms did not. The cleaners had long forgotten to wash the inside door of the elevator which was streaked with dark stains. It felt grubby in the elevator as well. When we opened the door to our queen room, there was a faint unpleasant odor which seemed to disperse when the AC was turned on. The room was spacious with a sitting area and a bedroom area, both with oversized flat screen TVs. The sitting area had the microwave, coffee/tea machine with paper cups, but no coffee cups, no spoons, no kettle. The wood furniture in the sitting area, especially the drawer units, needed refinishing as bare wood was visible on the edges of the drawers. The upholstered couch and chair, overly large, were squished into the sitting area. The bathroom with a dated tub/shower combo was clean with no mold on the tile, or shower curtain, but the picture frame on the wall was banged up with the silver edge starting to peel off. The wallpaper in the bathroom as well as the wallpaper on the 6th floor hall walls was reminiscent of the ‘80’s. The room, though, had the expected toiletries and a supply of good towels. I kept my socks on to walk on the rug. While the bed was comfortable, the AC was positioned to allow cold air to blow towards the bed. I slept with the sheet over my head while hubby found an extra blanket in the closet. The drapes were nice and kept the light out. The room was quiet. We ate dinner in the café and had a long wait for our salmon fillets (around $24) which arrived overcooked with burnt edges; alongside, were cooked frozen veg, not fresh. We didn’t use any other services at this hotel like the outdoor pool, business center. The hotel doesn’t offer a complimentary breakfast, but the café has a breakfast menu. The hotel is an area with no restaurants. We had no problems with the shuttle service. The airport shuttle goes around every 30 minutes and our shuttle did have the name of our hotel visible on the minivan. We didn't have to phone for a pickup. We booked the cruise port minivan shuttle ($14pp; leaves at 10:30am and 12pm; 20 -25 minute drive) on arrival at the hotel and were able to check out of the room just before noon. It was the price and brand name that attracted us to this hotel as most hotels around the airport also offer the shuttle service. I am undecided about a future one night booking at this hotel. Perhaps it was the comparison of staying at the well appointed YVR Fairmont hotel the previous night that made the shortcomings of this Hilton Garden Inn so obvious.…
This hotel is doing it right! We chose this hotel because it was only a few minutes away from where we have business at the next day. Parking - plenty of parking. My husband drives a truck and trailer - don't attempt it! My stress level was over the top as my husband paralleled park. Beautiful - we were told just redone lobby. Grounds are kept and nice. Manny was amazing at check in - which we didn't arrive until 10pm. Welcomed us, described certain amenities and asked if I had a preference on location of our room. (I can't think of the last time someone asked me that!) We dropped off our items, room was perfect, clean and modern. After a stressful day we were looking for a glass of wine. There isn't a whole lot super close by within walking distance so we met Mario at the bar. I believe he was closed. But he was willing to let us sit and relax while he cleaned up. The next morning Manny was back!! I'm sure he was tired but he was super great with us again. We didn't participate in breakfast which was an extra charge. But it looked really great! We also noticed the airport shuttle they provide come by frequently. The driver even greeted us in lobby asking if he could help us. Great job HGI Miami! Thanks for for taking care of us!…
The stay was great, we were welcomed by Devin, who was extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. No issues. Room was cleaned everyday and toiletries added. We got free water and coffee. Restaurant on site.
Staff is friendly, understanding, accommodating, and thorough. Starbucks and Chipotle close by as well as lots of other options. Impressed with the overall cleanliness too! There’s a lot of shuttle stops leaving from the airport just FYI.
The accommodations are okay, but on our way to the airport we nearly lost our seat despite being one of the first ones there because they only asked in Spanish who was there first. All instructions were in Spanish including return instructions. When we arrived at the other end of our trip we waited and waited as every other hotel shuttle went by, many twice. We called and they said us it was 10 minutes out. 35 minutes later it finally shows up, Then it proceeds to take an extremely long route through cargo areas (to be fair they did have a sign in English saying this could happen.) I can’t say the shuttle staff was rude, but they certainly weren’t friendly. 1,5 hrs to get from the pickup zone to our hotel. We will certainly never stay at this Hilton Gardens again.
When you pull up to hotel it feels like you're going to a resort. The staff is very friendly and the hotel in rooms are very clean. Omg the bathroom hand soap smells so good. (That is just a fun fact to know)
For breakfast I had a muffin and some scrambled eggs with a cup of coffee. I figured the $10.00 food credit would cover the cost but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The total cost was $21.00. It kind of defeats the purpose of a $10.00 credit when you over charge for breakfast by $15.00. The food was not worth the price at all. The muffin tasted like it came out of a vending machine and the eggs out of a carton.
We stayed here the night before our cruise because it was one of the few hotels offering a shuttle to the cruise terminal and free parking for the duration of the cruise. It was a reasonably pleasant stay; the price was okay, especially for the Miami area. The area isn't too easily walkable although there are many restaurants on the main road near the hotel. We ended up ordering food through DoorDash. The area seemed safe enough and there is a convenience store on the corner. The shuttle to the pier for three people ended up being more expensive than a Lyft, so we ordered a ride instead. (If it had been 1 or 2 people the shuttle would have been cheaper.) We missed the complimentary breakfast we've usually gotten at hotels in the area, but that's a Hilton thing, not a "this hotel" thing.…
Not really close to airport - shuttle took about 20min. but waited 45min at the airport and called twice, they told its on its way. Staff was nice but didnt deduct HH status crtedit on the bill. Room size was adequate, Would probably choos a hotel closer to airport next time.
The facility was fine. It was a bit set back from the road and harder to locate the entrance. In addition on that particular day, there was some sort of motorcycle club group parking at the gas station and blocking hotel access. The rooms were fine and staff were nice. I found the HVAC to be too noisy. Parking was easy. I would recommend this hotel for airport access (not closest but reasonable price).
