For the rate paid I did not expect a full service Marriott or JW but from the moment of check in to the check out I met wonderful dedicated Associates and truly felt at home. Karen checked me in, I arrived early and a room was not available so I sat in the lobby had a coffee and marveled on her taking care of everyone and everything for the operations. Not one guest waited longer than 2 or 3 minutes. This for a sold out hotel with no bellmen, phone operator or support. Even with all this I received a room a full hour before check in time. Karen didn't waste a minute in assigning rooms once she got a list so the housekeeper Raiza showed me to my room. Im sure she was the one assigned to my room because your can feel as if she was proud of her work. My goodness, she has full authority to feel so in my book because I could not find one hair or item out of place! Bravo! Breakfast had a full selection of hot, cold items with varieties of juice and fruits. On check out there was a young woman in the lobby assisting with luggage, talking to the different guest and tidying up I approached her so she could store my luggage and was pleasantly surprised to find out she is the general manager, Nina or Mina is her name. I wish I would have written it down. She stored my bag, helped with recommendations for lunch and even reminded me of the time as I had mentioned I had a meeting scheduled for 2 PM and I was cutting it close if I wanted to eat before. I usually need 5 calendars on my phone to remember everything and she retained this from out conversation! Amazing retention there and so grateful for taking care of me. Now, the place could use a redecoration, but at least everything is clean. And yes, the shuttle should be 24 hours for an airport property.

On our way to board a cruise, we spent one night here. We did not arrive until about 10pm, but we're greeted warmly and all 4 couples get checked in. When we get to our room, our commode won't flush. They move us to a different room. All 4 couples decided to order something for dinner, so we had food delivered and eaten in the lobby area. While we we waiting on food delivery, we noticed water begin to come or off a light on the ceiling. Soon, the was water coming out of 4 or 5 light fixtures. The desk clerk said it was coming from an over filled bathtub. They put garbage cans on the floor to catch the water. Hmmm, can we say mold??? It was a decent place to stay and close to the cruise port. We rode a shuttle bus directly from the hotel to the port.

We stayed at this hotel from December 15th to the 17th of 2019 during a visit to Miami. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from Ms. Karla at the front desk. She was helpful and very friendly. During the check-in process, Ms. Karla informed us there would be a daily charge for parking. Although this was unexpected, it was something we had to do. There is covered parking on the same level as the hotel entrance and also spaces underground. For safety, I recommend the former parking option.
When we got to our hotel room, it was noticeable that the property older compared to newly built hotels. We had a quiet room. Nevertheless, the hotel is located in a very convenient place and there are many restaurants and options to choose from within a short distance. During our visit, we decided to venture out to Dolphin Mall, only about a 20 minutes away taking the highway and including Miami traffic.
A continental breakfast is provided. Some of the food items offered include eggs, bagels, cereal, fresh coffee, hot tea, milk, yogurt, and a variety of juices. They also provide daily shuttle services to Miami International Airport. The breakfast staff are friendly and attentive. Check with the front desk for more details.
Again, a profound thank you to Ms. Karla for the warm welcome we received at check-in!

My husband and I stayed at the Fairfield prior to our cruise and in between the first and second cruise. The service both times was excellent. the first time we rode the shuttle from the airport. The front desk arranged for a shuttle to the cruise port for $15 per person, very reasonable. The breakfast was good with a couple of egg choices, yogurt, fruits and breads.

We arrived today for our second stay and will get on another ship tomorrow. There was a hand written thank you note from Carlos, the Guest Services Manager, for our loyalty to the hotel and Mariott Bonvoy. We arrived at the hotel around 10:00 am and knew we would have to wait a long time to get into our room at the 3:00 pm check in time. Karen at the front desk was amazing getting us into our room around noon. We needed to wash clothes and the hotel has a washer and dryer that can be used by guests free of charge!!!!

Our room was clean, a great size, and the bed was very comfortable. Overall I highly recommend this hotel.

The first visit before covid very happy with this hotel, this time it seems to have run down. The reception staff not as interactive and when we went to the room the bathroom was not clean, we found hairs in the bathtub, after a long day of travelling I did not tell the staff we just got on with it. The next day on checking out they asked if we were happy and I mentioned it and they did give me a 10$ fee back into my account which I didn’t ask for. Overall a disappointing 2nd experience we did nearly cancel the same company in Dallas for our return trip and we are so glad eee didn’t !! I think Miami need to put some effort in returning to how good they were.

We stayed in August 2022 at this hotel by the airport as we were flying out the next day. We have stayed at other Marriott hotels in Miami throughout our vacation. We had a kitchen, dining room, etc. and they all included a hot Breakfast.

This hotel rate for this hotel was 150/night!!!!

The room was small and the shower curtain was broken and the shower head was leaking. Luckily we only stayed a night but it was unacceptable and to pay such a high rate is ridiculous. Also the elevators are slow as molasses!!

Furthermore on the website it lists that this hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. There is no indication of timings of the shuttle, however, it can be assumed that the shuttle would run 24/7 as like most major cities. The shuttle only runs from 630am-10pm. So if your flight is before or after good luck getting to the hotel. We had to take an uber to get to the airport for our flight. The hotel needs to be more transparent in their hotel shuttles and advertise their shuttle timings.

The hotel is located near Little Havana so there is very little to eat unless you have a car or would like to take transit.

Also the staff is really rude except the assistant manager who is nice. Otherwise everyone is rude, and unwelcoming. They don't answer their phones at all and you have to call back multiple times to get someone to speak with you.

If I could give a negative rating I would provide it. This hotel is one which you should avoid altogether!!

There weren't a lot of choices of hotels as it was spring break. I would not recommend staying here. It took forever for the shuttle to pick us up. The beds did not have enough pillows. The breakfast situation was very odd even for covid times. They had meals in bags but did not leave them in a location where they could be easily grabbed. Find another place to stay.

Arriving early in the day for a one night stay prior to embarkation on a cruise, we feel we got to see Fairfield Inn Miami South. We had read some of reviews with less than positive comments and wondered about our choice. All we experienced confirmed we had made the right choice.
Mitch, the General manager, was more than helpful at the Front Desk. It was an active front desk that morning and he was right in there to help out.
Malena, running the front desk, was polite efficient and capable, handling phone calls, check ins and check outs. As we arrived early and needed to wait for room, she was more than attentive and hospitable to our needs. She offered more than once to keep our luggage until a room was ready.
When we decided to go for lunch in Little Havana (El Rincon Asturiano--recommended if you want a taste of Spain), we were about to take her up on the offer when a room was ready.
Malena gladly made reservations for a taxi to take us to the restaurant and was quite apologetic when a cab did not arrive within a reasonable time When saw that we were still waiting outside, she offered us some water and immediately called again to resolve the issue. It seems the first cab picked up the wrong guests.

Armando, the shuttle driver on airport pick up, was the best in many ways.

As we watch all the staff going about their assigned morning duties, we were impressed with the espirit de corps of all from housekeeping (cleanliness ), breakfast staff and management to ensure meeting and catering to the needs of all guests.
Lastly, many other guests were staying just as we were for one night. That was a good sign that we were in a good place.
Also, the Fairfield Inn offers a cruise shuttle package, check it out as it may fit your needs.

We arrived at 3pm from an international flight, and the hotel refused to issue a room until after 4pm. They also did not acknowledge our Marriott Bonvoy Gold status at all during the check in. The lobby was full of people, who seemed to be like us, stranded and waiting around for a room. Bad atmosphere. Staff seemed unprepared and overwhelmed. Once we got into a room, it had everything we needed and was sufficiently clean. The gym was on the small side but well equipped and clean. The pool is extremely small. The hotel is a short walk a way from a local seafood restaurant called Catch of the Day which was a good place to spend the time while we waited for our room. But overall, I’m not sure we’d choose to stay here again.

Stayed one night pre-cruise on 8/23/22
Everything was mostly great!
Great service from front desk employees.
Shuttle service from airport to hotel was quick & convenient.
Room was comfortable, nice & clean, we were upgraded to a larger king suite free of charge, only complaint about the room is the pillows were not great, very soft & thin, we like our pillows firmer.
Breakfast was not great at all, mostly frozen/prepackaged items. The frozen Belgium waffles where they only provided a microwave to cook them in, would have been much better to provide toaster, prepackage egg sandwiches, cold cereals & yogurts.
Overall I would definitely stay again, but probably just skip the breakfast unless they improve on it.

Supermarket or convenience store? The hotel does have their small selection of drinks, snacks and grooming type items. There is a convenience store that you can walk to less than a block. Grocery store, I do not know.

"The likelihood of stinky rooms increased if your hotel number was low, like 401. Numbers like 440 were fine- on the other side of the hotel."
