The Springhill Suites Hotel located at 1311 NW 10th Ave, Downtown Miami, FL, is part of the Marriot group.
This particular hotel has a not so good location as it is in a place where there is nothing to do or go to unless you take a car or call an Uber car. The room is comfortable, with a king size bed, a very good bathroom, but nothing inside the room's fridge, not even a simple bottle of water. An anteroom inside the room is a good thing if you are with your family. Finally, there is also a good free internet signal, which is always welcome.

My flight was cancelled last minute, and I booked one night at the Springhill Suites since it is close to the Miami airport. Upon arrival, Gaga, the woman who checked me in was GREAT. She was so accommodating and really made everything so easy after a stressful day. Multiple flights in Miami were cancelled that day, and the hotel was so busy. Gaga stayed professional and was so helpful to everyone there. Thank you for making a horrible travel day less stressful!

Area adjacent is being developed, like the Atlantis University building and some others. Guests seem to be those visiting Jackson Medical Center in the week. And visiting fans going to the Miami Marlins baseball. Less than half mile from Culmer metrorail which is a couple of stops from downtown, but the walk can be somewhat daunting at night. No eateries close by, just a Winn Dixie store. Parking at hotel is super safe at $20 nightly. You have to check in first to use your room key to operate the car park gate. Breakfast was limited but good.
The corridors could be cleaned a little more often. Oh, and the outside windows really need cleaning. It creates a bad impression.

Booked this prior to our cruise departing from the Port of Miami Dec 26th. This is perfectly fine for this purpose. We booked using Bonvoy points.

Some specifics:
1. For a pre-cruise stay, this was nicely positioned in between MIA and the port. It was ~ $20 Uber XL drive from the airport, and a similar price from the hotel to the port.
2. The woman at checkin (who had to work on Xmas day!) was lovely and courteous. Sorry I can't recall her name. The front desk staff was similarly friendly and courteous the next morning.
3. The room itself was good enough. The two queens beds were surprisingly comfortable. Room is set up such that the toilet is separated from the shower, which helps when there is a large family staying in the room.
4. The complimentary breakfast had what you would expect: toast, bagels, english muffins; usual buffet scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurts, cereals. No fruit however.

My only negative is the $17/night charge that includes a daily relaxation class, "drink of the day" for two guests at the hotel restaurant, metrorail vouchers, and high speed internet. If I was staying long enough to use those features, i guess it isn't a bad deal. However, we arrived at 10 PM after the restaurant closed (and thus couldn't get the drinks; however we were able to get two drinks from the small lobby store), and as Bonvoy members we get free high-speed internet anyway.

For a pre-cruise stay, for which you really only need a decent place to stay and some reasonable food in the morning, I would stay here again if the price is once again better than other Bonvoy options. I agree with others that there really isn't much around there within close walking distance, especially if you are travelling with young kids or older adults.

We stayed here because it was close to Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. The area near the hospital is not great, many homeless tents and unkept properties. The entrance to the hotel is extremely small with only room for one car to park to check-in? Parking is an extra $19 per night. The room we were given had a strange layout with a separate toilet room with small sink and shower room with larger sink. both bathrooms had a smoked glass door so anyone in the bathroom at night woke the whole room up with the light. I was looking forward to the breakfast but was disappointed. The sausage was the worst I have ever had, not sure it was real sausage? For $170, we won't be staying here again.

Hello cousinmoze, Thank you for being our guest and for taking the time to write your review. Although we are pleased our location suited your needs for your visit to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, we regret your disappointment with our parking fee, breakfast fare, and bathroom door. Much of this information can be found on our hotel's website, but we do apologize for disappointing you. We can assure you we take your comments seriously and are working to address what we can. Additionally, and unfortunately, the public area and environment outside the hotel are not under our control or influence. Upon checking into my first room once I opened the door I immediately was whiffed with a terrible stench. My beds were unmade (see pictures attached ) I don't know if it was from the previous people or if the maids were having some fun on their breaks and forgot to clean up afterwards ! I went down to the front desk and showed ms Teresa the pictures and she changed me to another room not even apologizing just handing me key to my new room. Fast forward to the next day Titanium Elite Members get 4pm check out based on Availability , was given that. I ended up falling asleep and not checking out of the hotel until 4:30 pm, I noticed a charge on my card for an additional night. I called and was told I have to speak to a manager that they would be in after 10 . kept calling no one answered, I had time before my 5 p, flight so I went and asked to speak to a manager which was Mr.David who was very rude and nonchalant about the situation and said they did me a courtesy by keeping the same rate and not using the day of.

I had appointment at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and stayed at this hotel. It is about 1/4 mile walk. This hotel was very hard to find with virtually no signage save for the name emblazoned on the top of it which doesn't help much on the ground. It has a gated entrance for parking, real small sign, and the main entrance just doesn't look like a hotel entryway. Maybe it's just me, I am notorious for getting lost. The hotel is fantastic, very modern, I stayed on top floor in a studio room, it was perfect. Check in and out was easy. The restaurant was closed due to the pandemic, but did offer a funky breakfast box. If you walk to the medical campus be aware you have to walk for about a block under the Dolphin Expressway and it is NASTY!! It appears less fortunate people hang out there at night, with trash everywhere. No fault of the hotel, but if I were management I would hound my elected officials to get this area cleaned up!! And put some signs up identifying the hotel!!

Springhill Suites is the place to stay, if you or a loved one needs to visit any of the major health facilities in the Miami Medical Center Area. You can walk to UMHC, Bascom-Palmer, Sylvester Cancer Institute etc. There are taxis parked right outside the building and the hotel also has a shuttle.

Onsite parking is available and we left our car there both nights, choosing to walk or take a short taxi ride back from the hospital.

The property has full disability access. Onsite Restaurant (limited but adequate menu), Bar, Pool, Hot Tub and Gym. Small convenience items are available in the lobby for late arrivals.
Staff is friendly and welcoming and check-in is a breeze.

The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable and adequate towels, shampoo, soap and hairdryer. Extras may be requested. There is an ironing board and steam iron in your wardrobe and a microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot with coffee and tea supplied.

Breakfast is included and is standard hotel fare. Scrambled eggs, sausage patti, an assortment of cereals, oatmeal, 2 types of fruit, waffles, yogurts and milk. They have good coffee, and the attendant seems to really care about her presentation.

Stayed here often before and highly recommend this facility for price, convenience, amenities and cleanliness.

Everything was good until housekeeping personnel admitted throwing away a bag of snacks and capsules we had while changing the linens. The person did not check what’s inside. We had unopened bags of snacks and packages of water capsules in that bag. No common sense. Just don’t leave anything in the hotel room. Or put do not disturb so housekeeping doesn’t come in until you leave.

I had to travel to Miami for business at Jackson Memorial. This hotel was a perfect fit and I would recommend it highly for anyone needing a hotel within a short walking distance from the hospital. The room was extremely well-appointed, especially for the price. It included a microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker, a sectional sofa and large desk with plenty of charging ports, a comfy king bed, a big TV, and a nice shower with delicious smelling bath products and a hair dryer. The armoire held a full-size ironing board and iron. There were horizontal shades on the windows, which blocked out all the light from the street. There is a small business center which I used to print some documents and the staff were very professional and friendly. The breakfast was typical for similar hotels. Everything was spotless. This hotel is not fancy, but it is a very solid 3.5 star hotel that gets 5 stars from me for location, price, and amenities.
