This hotel is just okay, it is definitely not what you would expect from a Marriott or for what you pay but we had a better experience than other recent guests.

Honestly, our first impression of this hotel was not great mainly due to the front desk person. When we first arrived it was around 1:30 PM, I said "Hello" when we approached the front desk and the person that was at the front desk did not say anything back. An awkward silence ensued before I said I had a reservation under my name to which the person simply said no rooms were ready and we could check-in at 3:00 in a very unfriendly manner. I later saw this same person interact in a friendly manner with other guests which made me wonder if there was just some reason she disliked us (we are half Asian and considering how Asians are currently being treated in the USA this made us think it might have had something to do with how she treated us). Customer service in hotels is such an important part of the experience and this has already been mentioned by SO MANY other reviews so the hotel should definitely look into it as soon as possible.

We left our luggage and came back at 3:00 PM, there was another person at the front desk who was MUCH nicer than the previous person. She helped us with our packages and all of them had been recorded in their package book, I can tell they had a very organized system for packages which is definitely a plus for people like us who had 21 packages. They also charge $2 per package which is a good rate compared to what we have had to pay before at other hotels.

The room, in our opinion, was not bad at all. It wasn't super modern but it did not look super old either. In general, the hotel looks a little outdated, including the lobby and the hallways. The bed was comfy and the room was mostly clean (I am pretty sure I saw some hairs in the shower that were not ours) although there was a plastic bag stuffed in a hole in the wall (we did not remove it because we did not want to know what was under it). We had lotion and conditioner but no shampoo which was not great for showering. The A/C worked well. We were on the 6th floor and the view was a lake view which was great. Part of the reason we picked this hotel was due to the mini-fridge and microwave, which were definitely a plus for when we ordered Uber Eats. The Wifi was pretty slow.

The hotel amenities are NOT functioning right now, including the shuttle, the pool, and breakfast. Cleaning also happens every 3 days (which did not affect us but I am mentioning for others to keep in mind). A lot of people seem upset/angry about this (including people who were checking in at the time) however I think people should know by now that this is expected due to COVID.

Overall our experience was just okay, I definitely would expect better from a Marriott but our personal experience wasn't as bad as other guests. Would I stay here again? I'm not sure.

We visited before going on a cruise and we had a pleasant experience. The decor is nice and modern, our check-in was quick and efficient. Both ladies working the desk were very kind and personable, as well as the bartender. I love that this SpringHill has a place to order dinner and drinks, it seemed well utilized by many people staying there. The plumbing was strange and you could tell it had some issues as our toilet took FOREVER to fully flush and it was very loud. Also the carpet in the hallways looked like it needed some cleaning as there was crumbs and things all over it. It’s also not located in a great location if you’re looking for restaurants and things to do without a 30 minute drive to downtown Miami. Overall though, a very pleasant stay!

My cousin and I stayed here on January 4th the night before our cruise out of Port Miami. This hotel is convenient from the airport and the have a free shuttle van. There is a Publix market less than two miles away. They also can arrange a $10 per person shuttle to the cruise ship ports in Miami.

The building is old and tired. Only one elevator worked and the other was iffy. They ran out of some foods at breakfast and the carpets were not clean. The desk seemed under staffed although they tried to serve all as quickly and professionally as possible.

I would not stay here again because it is not up to my standards. I like Marriott 's Spring Hill suites product but this one needs more work.

I only stayed one night. While the lady at the front desk was nice enough, I knew I was in for a treat from the moment I pulled up. There was a cup (trash) in one of the columns on the driveway. As I approached the entrance door, the mask notice that was taped up was flapping around because the pile of tape used to put it up came loose. The garbage was overflowing in the lobby. There was a cup of liquid at the breakfast station that must have been sitting a while because there were gnats flying around it. Does the cleaning staff get off at a certain time?

Next, was the room. The couch in the living room looked stained and gross. As did the carpet. I walked around in shoes or socks the entire time. The AC was loud, noisy and FREEZING. I turned it all the way up to 86 and it was still too cold. The lamp near the bed was missing a screw and it was obvious the room was in a need of general repair.

There was only one set of towels in the bathroom, which was so small and awkwardly set up that you could close the door while on the toilet if only your knees didn’t block it. The toilet made a loud screeching noise for about a minute when you flushed it. The stopper in the bathroom sink closed on it’s own - I guess from the water pressure from running the faucet. Because of this, water pooled in the sink. There was no lever to put it back up so I had to use my fingernails to try loosen it up. It still never open up, but some of the water went down.

The bed was comfortable enough but the blankets were hard and cheap. Overall, my one night at this place was one I’ll never forget. If I wasn’t already so tired that night I would have booked elsewhere. And travel sites have the nerve to have this hotel listed at 3.5 stars, when it’s a 2 at best. Thankfully it was only one night. I’m disappointed in Marriott, who I thought had a standard of excellence. I won’t be staying here or at any other SpringHill Suites ever again.

We had high expectations for this hotel, as it is part of the Marriott family and we are regular Marriott hotels customers (not just Marriott, but other member hotels as well). We have never been as disappointed in a Marriott member hotel as we were in this one. I will begin with the positives. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was hot and the toiletries were great quality. The room was small but creatively designed. It is only a few miles from the airport and since we stayed here to be close to the airport, that was a convenience. That’s about where it ends. The staff was not friendly. Not really unfriendly, but just made it clear they really did not care if the guests received decent service or not. There was supposed to be coffee in the rooms, but there was not. We were told they had been out for quite some time. The Kleenex box in the room was empty when we arrived. The bathroom light was burned out, so very dark. Fortunately the bathroom was very small, so light from nearby rooms lit it up a bit. There was supposed to be a complimentary breakfast. With COVID, we understand that hotel buffet breakfasts are temporarily on hold, but every other we have stayed at (across the country not just in Florida) that advertises a complimentary breakfast has offered something.... a grab and go bag, or a breakfast sandwich or something. When we checked in, we were just rudely told, “breakfast is canceled.” The hotel is also not secure. Early in the morning, a guest in a room across the hall mistakingly thought our room was hers. She was able to open our door and enter our room. Of course she was very embarrassed and apologetic, but it really wasn’t her fault. Why was she able to gain access to our room????!!! In our opinion, this hotel does not measure up to Springhill Suites standards, and definitely not up to Marriott family hotel standards. I do not recommend staying here. There are many other hotels in the area. The name of this hotel should be changed because it is false advertising.

This is a fairly new and modern hotel but it seems like a case of bad management.
My stay had one problem after another, and I would definitely not recommend staying here.
First of all the Airport Shuttle took forever to come pick me up, I had to call 3 times.
When I got to the hotel I noticed the location was remote with no shops or places to eat nearby.
When I was checking-in the receptionist did a very poor job of explaining facilities, didn't ask for my Bonvoy number or acknowledge my Titanium status.
After entering my room I had a problem with the door lock with the deadbolt not retracting, I was also stranded in the dark as none of the lights turned on when I flicked on the lights switch.
Eventually when I found a working light switch I noticed that the room had not been serviced properly. The bathroom floor was sticky and had various hairs on it, the tissue paper had not been replaced and the mirror was dirty.
I found the bed too soft and uncomfortable. However the room was mostly quiet.
I also had a problem with the air conditioning, the wall mounted controller had run out of batteries so was not controlling the air conditioner, leaving the room quite warm all night.
When I went to use the workout room the next day I found no towels were available for use.
I was very disappointed and would not stay here again.

Wow, where to start? Airport, I call for the "complimentary" shuttle listed on their website (see photo) and they inform me they don't have a reservation under my name. They also ask if I have the right Springhill as they have several. I said that I am using their app and hit "call the hotel" so yes, I have a reservation. After 3 tries they find it. Then they tell me they do not have a shuttle! I end up taking an Uber in primetime for $28! Next, I get to the hotel and the lady apologizes and says they will pay for it and then is bothered that I had to pay $28 as a cab would have been cheaper. I said maybe, but it was Uber primetime, your fault not mine. No idea if they are going to pay this or not, we will see. I then went to the little shop/market for a soda. Nothing! Just a few frozen dinners in the freezer and some chips! I go to the elevator and when I get to the 5th floor, it is dimly lit, like bad movie lit! On the way to my room, I pass open room they are "airing" out. it smell like mildew something fierce. Unfortunately it wouldn't be the last time I smell it. My room has the odor of mildew as well. I suck it up and deal with it. I go to wash my face, no hand towels, no wash cloths! Geez, can it get worse, yep! No laundry bag, and when I ask about the breakfast (also listed on their website) they said they are not serving breakfast. The pillows were either really bad or the combination of being frustrated and smelling mildew all night kept me from sleeping well. The AC is rather noisy as well. How this place is rated so well is bewildering to me?? This place is either broke, or has management that is using COVID-19 to literally save every penny possible? Any one of these things is minor, add them all together and it is just a lousy stay. I had a reservation for a few days later, I cancelled it. Please look at my reviews, you have to TRY to get a bad review from me.

This 7 story hotel only has one (1) working elevator. And the one working elevator is very slow. Due to COVID restrictions, only 2 people are allowed in the elevator at a time, so it is very slow and very inconvenient to access your room. We asked the Manager if they could fix the second elevator and the management was not interested at all. They do not appear to be concerned with the comfort of their guests. Marriott should really consider dropping this property from their portfolio due to the lack of maintenance and standards. There are so many hotel choices these days ... so SKIP the SpringHill Suites .. and instead select a hotel that cares about the comfort of their guests.

In the last 90 days. I have stayed at this hotel a total of 3 times. Each time I think about leaving a review, but I don't. On this last stay, I decided that I must warn others of my experience so that they do not make the same mistake.

I checked in and the room did not have a remote control. I called downstairs and they offered no solution except to move me. Then we went to shower and there was only one towel. The excuse was that the dryer at the hotel has issues so they run short on laundry. The same thing happened last time I stayed here. Except for that time they did not have any shampoo. I was told, "It was on order".

The hotel offers breakfast as an offering. But there is no breakfast. It's all a lie to get your business. They offer coffee in the lobby during breakfast hours. The hotel is run down, one of the elevators does not work and the parking lot is very dark at night making it a bit uncomfortable at night when you have to exit your vehicle.

How does this hotel belong to the Marriott family is beyond me. I cannot say on nice things except that it prices very well and the rooms are large. That why I tried it again. The best part of the Spring Hilll Suites Miami Airport South is seeing it in the rearview mirror when you leave. Don't be fooled, this is not in any way up to the Marriott standards. I left convinced that they just don't care about anything.

Everything ok with this hotel. Nice, clean, with fine, open spaces. It has everything you would be expecting from a hotel of it’s category, mostly when you travel due to business meetings (otherwise I would really recommend to look for a closer to downtown option). Only a few things that can be improved:
-The rooms have no iron for clothing care... which is weird given the fact that the hotel is practically located for business meetings.
-It was quite hard to get hot water on the shower... although at this point I believe that’s a curse that I have on me.
-There were no free water bottles at the room. Not even one. What? How’s that even possible? Had to buy two of them at $5.

Overall good experience, but the things that can be done better are not so big and included on mostly every other hotel in the city, so pretty weird things to be missing.
