I booked a last minute reservation here when we had to evacuate from storm Milton. When we finally arrived the staff was welcoming and friendly. Sebas, Ivana and Oscar were especially helpful during our stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spotless and comfortable and we felt safe away from the storm. We were on the 20th floor and had beautiful views of the city. I do have to say the shower was on the smaller side and water would spill out onto the floor making a mess. Hotel AKA is perfectly located in downtown Miami. It is walking distance to shops, coffee cafes and restaurants. I felt safe walking around alone when my husband was working back in the room. We found it odd that you would have to take one elevator up to the 25th floor and then take a second one (around the corner) to go down to your room. When we had to extend our stay as it wasn’t safe to go home, Ivana made sure we could stay in the same room. We would like to come back to Miami one day for an actual vacation and we will stay here.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at AKA Hotel Brickell! From start to finish, the AKA team made planning our offsite event and team accommodations an absolute breeze. The staff was collaborative, professional, and attentive to every detail, which made the whole process seamless. Our team loved the convenience of being so close to the conference rooms, which were spacious and well-equipped. The catering services were top-notch – delicious and impeccably managed. We highly recommend AKA Hotel Brickell for both events and stays; it was a wonderful experience, and we’ll certainly be back.

We evacuated Sarasota, Fl the day before Hurricane Milton was due to make land in Sarasota. It was a harrowing 8 drive across Aligator Alley with traffic and tornadoes.
We had been scanning for any available hotel rooms and were thrilled to find Hotel AKA could take us and our dog Reggie.
We arrived at the valet with our thrown together baggage in an IKEA bag, my musician husband's double bass and our scruffy dog Reggie. The valet staff were excellent. Our room was a tasteful, calm, clean haven with a gorgeous view of the water.
Every single member of staff we interacted with was absolutely wonderful. The front desk was really helpful - Sebastian was excellent as were his other colleagues. Jesse who cleaned our room was sweet and the room was spotless and fresh. We dined at the restaurant Adrift and the food was great - staff also gave me ice and some cutlery for food we had bought. Reggie was very apprehensive about the elevators but he soon relaxed and became the sophisticated dog walking around Brickell! Your lounge outside the Adrift Restaurant was full of other evacuees and their varied dogs. Interestingly the dogs seemed to catch the chill atmosphere and we did not experience any dog altercations!
We were so impressed with the hotel and it's amenities. There are a lot of luxury hotels in Miami but it is the whole team of staff whose ethic and teamwork that make a Hotel AKA stand out and give such a warm impression on guests.
Thank you,Thank you the whole team at AKA Brickell - we definitely will be coming back for a Miami stay, hopefully without the stress of impending hurricane!

Hotel AKA Brickell was quite disappointing. The setup is awkward and requires guests to round a corner past the front desk, get on an elevator to the 25th floor, get off, round another corner to another set of elevators, and then go down or up to their room. When we arrived, the valet did not have a record of our reservation although it was prepaid and confirmed via telephone shortly before our arrival. (I had called to confirm that the reservation had not been canceled after they ran my credit card twice for some unexplained reason except "it always does that.") Upon arrival, we were very hungry and tired from the nearly 10 hour drive, so we decided to have what we thought would be a quick lunch in the hotel restaurant ADRIFT Mare. The food was so-so, but the service at lunch was horrible. We asked for a Sprite, and after waiting for nearly 30 minutes with no Sprite, I had to search for our server who was in the kitchen chatting away. About 10 minutes later, he brought the Sprite and said our food would be "right out." It wasn't. All in all, we spent nearly 2 hours at the restaurant and finally had to just leave and tell them to charge the meal to the room so we could get a little rest before the engagement we had scheduled for later that evening.

The room was just mediocre. I don't know how this is a 5-star hotel by any standard. I found an acrylic fingernail in the bed, and housekeeping, after being really aggressive about my providing a time for them to come back and clean the room, did not come at all.

To top it all off, the television was not a smart TV and would switch channels every 1-15 minutes without our touching the remote. When we called to complain, engineering came up and switched out the remote and unplugged and plugged in the television. This did not solve the issue, and my husband and I figured out that the remotes from other rooms control the TV in our room, too. It became almost comical with us changing our tv channel (and probably changing someone else's channel) and then the channel switching and then our switching it back. Other hotel guests even bought movies that were charged to our room because of the problem posed by the universal remotes that controlled multiple TVs! The hotel claimed no one else had ever complained about this issue, but we found that very hard to believe. I called to speak to the staff about this issue on several occasions, they were not helpful, and one lady was downright rude. Ultimately, they refunded $145 for the inconvenience.

Finally, I called guest services to have our car brought around so we could go out to eat, and the phone just rang for nearly 30 minutes. Unacceptable!

Good points about the hotel:

The hotel offers complimentary workout classes that can be booked in advance. It also has a spa, which is a plus, but we did not go to the spa.

The focaccia and king crab at ADRIFT Mare were delicious, and the Honduran waitress who served us was very nice.

What an absolutely terrible hotel, starting from initial reservation all the way through the stay. I went for a conference, so the hotel was not my choice. We had to call 3x to clarify the reservation 3 months in advance. Upon arrival, confirmed the length of stay, then confirmed it again. When I received an email stating the wrong name, then confirmed again at the front desk on the second day. Finally, on the day before departure, two of my colleagues were locked out of their rooms, so I called to confirm departure date again. Guest services hung up on me 3x and stated they couldn’t help. Finally managed to convince them that my check out was one day later, after over 45 minutes on the phone while I was trying to enjoy one day of sightseeing. On top of all that, the elevator situation is ridiculous. To get to the room, you have to go to floor 25, get out, walk down a hallway, get in another elevator, and go down to your room. The pool is down two elevators, across the street, and up a third elevator. Customer service is nonexistent, and all the employees are rude. I had to ask a housekeeper in a hallway to please clean my room on day 3, which was the only day it was cleaned during a 5 day stay. There are a ton of other options in the area. Avoid this place.

I stayed at AKA Brickell for two nights with my family. The hotel is very well located, right next to the Metromover and close to several restaurants. The rooms were comfortable, but what I’d like to highlight the most is the outstanding service regarding package deliveries. The hotel received around 35 packages we had ordered, and not a single one was lost. Moreover, they even took care of returning a delayed package that arrived after we had already left. A special mention to Luis Maya, the Purchasing and Receiving Manager, for his exceptional assistance. Please make sure to commend him for his great work!

Elijah and Eduardo were a great help! My plane arrived 4 hours earlier than my check in time and they helped me store my bags securely so I could go out and get some food. I had no issues at all when I got my back. They did not over complicate a thing, they made it very easy to access my bags whenever I needed something from it while I was still waiting on my room.

Beautiful hotel in a great downtown area! first time to Miami and this hotel was wonderful. They let us hangout by the pool while waiting for an early check in. Alberto and Shelly were extremely attentive and conversational at the pool. Drinks were good although a bit pricy for what I’m used to. Alexis, Eduardo and Diego were all extremely helpful when I came to holding our luggage and delivering it promptly once we were checked in. They also called a taxi for us to get to the airport and our taxi driver was wonderful (also a bit pricey though, it was 85$ with a tip to get to the airport). The hotel had a beautiful view, comfortable bed, and nice amenities in the room. Definitely filled with a lot of business people and very wealthy guests. I looked at bit out place after getting off a cruise ship for a week haha. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Miami. PaperFish sushi up the street was a great spot for dinner and craft brickell across the street had fantastic pizza. Oh and the front desk staff was wonderful too!!

I booked a reservation months ago for this hotel it was formally the Conrad which is a Hilton property. They change names and we’re now the a.k.a. after speaking to American Express the hotel was not going to honor my reservation at first because of the rates that I received although I had a confirmation number. I finally got a manager on the phone who said they were honoring for previous reservations under the old hotel. We checked in to the hotel at about 11 AM our rooms were not ready which was understandable so we went out for the day. When we came back at about 3 o’clock they had informed us that our room was ready when we went upstairs to our room there was somebody already occupying it came back downstairs and apologized and said they had made a mistake and given us the wrong room. They finally gave us another room. The next morning when we left for my daughter’s graduation we had stopped housekeeping in the hallway and asked her for some extra fresh towels when she made up the room, when we arrived back in our room even though we had the service light on all day so they could make sure to make up the room the room was never touched. Now it’s midnight no towels no waters and the room was never cleaned. They apologized offered to give us credits towards our room and told us they would take the parking lot off. On the third day we were there we decided to go up to the pool, it was very limited seating and no towels and nobody around to ask until noon time. On the last day checking out the parking was not removed from our bill we had to argue with the new person about the bill. I was extremely disappointed on how they handled everything I do a lot of traveling and stay at a lot of different hotels I would definitely not recommend staying at this property it was one fiasco after another. Also I find it very funny that they are bar closes at 11 PM considering we’re in Miami.

I loved this hotel when it was a Conrad by Hilton. The issues I faced with this visit:
*They no longer have tennis courts. Although they once clearly heavily marketed their tennis courts they did not go back and clean up that marketing when they removed them. When you search for hotels with good tennis courts in Miami- this hotel comes up on multiple websites. The hotel takes no ownership of this false information.

*The "suite" room was just opening the adjoining door to the room next door in which they had removed the bed and placed a couch.

*The beds sit in front of the windows with the view- so unless you are in the bathroom or you climb over the headboard of the bed you do not get full advantage of the view.

*More than anything- everyone there from the front desk to management had no genuine concern for the tennis court issue. I only sensed annoyance and deflection. The first response to me bringing up the lack of tennis courts was essentially "prove it" which I was shocked by.

Of all the hotels in this area at this price range (or lower) I would not select this hotel under this management.
