Alexis was so kind - helpful and informative. Love talking with him and learning more about Miami and activities! He needs a raise Was here for the miami marathon and Alexis really made my trip with all the tourist activities he recommended!!
We really enjoyed our spacious room with a great view of nearby Bayfront Park and Port of Miami Cruise Terminals. In the distance we could see high rises lining Miami Beach. We booked our stay for multiple nights so we could explore the area and also be conveniently located for an upcoming cruise out of Miami. The front office staff were very always attentive, courteous and helpful. We were able to check in early, which was greatly appreciated since we had arrived early after finishing up a cruise in Fort Lauderdale. IHG Diamond status has its benefits, lol. On our final night, we needed boarding documentation that had been recently emailed printed out. Marlon Z. helped get that done, which was greatly appreciated. Thanks Marlon! My wife and I enjoyed breakfast at OLÉ each day during our stay. Such a friendly, helpful staff, including Madeleine (hostess), Brandy (my server multiple times), Ariesa (server; blame autocorrect on my phone for incorrect spelling of your name, sorry!), Fritho (omelette station), Merana (fruit & cold cuts section), Carolina (dining area attendant) and Madelena (manager). The selection of fruit and rolls/pastries was excellent, but make sure to get an omelette made to your liking. Food in warming trays and on display in baskets/bowls was quickly replenished as needed. Plates and cups were quickly cleared. All told breakfast at OLÉ was an excellent way to start each day and the people I mentioned (and others) were a big reason why. Madelena and her team did a fantastic job. On the 5th floor, if memory serves, this facility has a very nice outdoor pool and deck with plenty of lounge chairs and some umbrellas. There is also a very nice poolside bar. Inside there is a spa and workout facilities. There is a large convention space with long hallways on the 2nd floor -- great for walking laps if you don't like treadmills and don't want to go outside because it's hot/humid or nighttime. InterContinental Miami has a great location. There is a stop on the free Metromover located just up the street, less than a block away at Biscayne Blvd. About 2 blocks away is a Whole Foods. CVS and Walgreens locations are within easy walking distance of the hotel. Some of the nearby storefronts are still vacant/shuttered as a result of the pandemic but I never felt unsafe while walking around, even late in the evening. The only downside is you won't find any fast food in the immediate area. There is a Chick-fil-A and McDonald's a few stops away on the Metromover.…
Alexis was great! Very clean rooms, construction was louder than expected but I wasn’t spending much time in the hotel room. It wasn’t a negative issue, amenities were nice and nothing out of the ordinary!
This was our first visit to the InterContinental Miami. My husband & I stayed for 2 nights (Wednesday - Friday) using IHG reward points + 1 anniversary night. ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: The very second you arrive a bellhop will race to your car, grab your luggage, speedwalk to the front desk & wait for a tip; be sure to have cash on hand. A rep named Marlon checked us in. It went fairly smoothly, minus having to remind him 2-3x that we had two back-to-back reward reservations. Note: If you do that, they'll make sure you do not have to switch rooms in the middle of your stay; however, they will also place a $100 incidental hold on your credit card for each reservation. ROOM: Prior to arrival, I contacted the hotel more than once to request a quiet room away from construction & elevators. Thanks to my Diamond Elite status, the hotel upgraded us to a 1 King Classic Bay View room free of charge; we were assigned #1308. However, noise was still a major issue (see below). • Amenities: No microwave or robes. There was, however, a coffee maker, hairdryer & safe. The mini refrigerator is stocked full of overpriced drinks/snacks, rendering it unusable for guests. • Bath: Good size. Pressure was a bit weak & water warm (not hot). However, there were long black hairs strewn all over the bathtub & sink. I rinsed them down the drain myself. • Bed: Bed & pillows were decently comfortable; medium firmness. We're glad we brought our own soft pillows. • Cleanliness: Mostly clean, minus the hairs. We requested a refresh on Thursday at 3:30 PM or after. Despite the do not disturb sign, housekeeping knocked on our door at 1:30 PM. They returned later & tidied up the room. • Decor: Lobby is beautiful, but hallways & rooms are a bit dated (e.g. scuffed wallpaper, stained carpets). Rooms are undergoing renovations though. • Heating/cooling: Absolutely FRIGID when we arrived. For reference, we keep our home at 68° & arrived wearing long pants and shirts. Heating didn't appear to work, so we turned the unit off for the duration of our stay. Room was very humid. • Sound: Very loud. When a guest or housekeeping shuts a door, it shakes the window in your own room. There was partying on an event space (boat) outside our window on Wednesday. And construction begins at 8/9:00AM. Despite work being done on the 23rd(?) floor, we could hear the drilling all day. I asked the front desk if we could be moved to a lower floor; however, there were no single bed rooms available anywhere below floor 13. They were, however, very apologetic. Just be mindful if you're here to rest or work during the day. • TV: 55" Smart television. Clear reception w/ standard selection of channels. We mostly used our Netflix account. • View: Lovely view of the harbor, cruise ships & sunrise. • WiFi: Good; the username/password is located inside your room key card. DRINKS/FOOD: • No free breakfast offered; however, Diamond Elite members can choose a free breakfast buffet at ¡Ole! one morning (worth $74.60 for 2 people, including taxes & an automatic 18% gratuity). The quality/selection of food was a step up from say a Holiday Inn Express. We particularly liked the made-to-order omelets, chocolate croissants, fruit & fresh-squeezed OJ. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Mostly good, minus a few communication mishaps. The hotel graciously honored 1:00 PM check-out, which worked out perfectly for our cruise. LOCATION/PARKING: • Location: Close to the water & cruise port • Parking: Not needed Would I recommend/stay again? Yes, using IHG points. I would not, however, stay again until construction is complete.…
The InterContinental Miami is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. From check-in to check-out, the experience is always flawless. Ever person on staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms are impeccable. And the entire hotel is welcoming and clean. I love to stay here and hope I'll be back in the near future!
Comfy bed. Great lobby. Very quiet rooms. Yes there is construction by the pool but only during the day. Staff goes above and beyond to make your stay wonderful especially Mary at front desk and all the porters and valets. Couldn’t get my uber app working and a porter said, “ let me have your phone.” He then got it up and going and punched in where I wanted to go. Concierge made great recommendations to eat at South Beach and nearby. Highly recommend Fish Called Avalon in south Beach on Ocean and 7th and Komodo in Brickell.
Not one employee took the initiate to help. Everyone just passed the ball until finally it was not manageable. So the hotel itself was fine. Unfortunately, to get anything done you needed to call, check in and then follow up and re-check in to make sure what was needed to be done was in fact done. I called in on 3 separate occasions to make sure my name was updated and at check in, it was not. They almost didn’t let me check in because of it. I lost my wallet (nothing to do with the hotel) had to get 3 separate keys and no one mentioned anything to me about it or told me what to expect or anything with my card being locked. We ordered room service on Saturday night. Of course we knew there was a wait. It was busy. But the time frame came and went. I called to check in at the hour mark and I had to offer him three separate solutions so he could find out where in the process out food was. Finally, I asked the guy if I should come down to see if I could check on the status of my food - he couldn’t see it in his system. He for whatever he finally decided he could walk to go check for me. Got my filet, it was completely rare in the middle. I asked for medium, which is obviously a huge difference. I had to eat the outside of the steak. It came with no potatoes as it stated on the menu.…
Edgar was super accommodating and knew the menu like the back of his head and hand. He wasn't indignant and seemed very enthusiastic about enhancing our experience in Toro Toro. A true team player and excellent member of the TT employee team. I will be requesting him in the future as I visit Brickell more.
First the room number 2826 the toilet ran all all the time even during the night. The switch that controls the automatic window blinds was wired backwards. So to get the blinds to open you had to press close. I called for a wake up call for 8 am. No call. I called to ask for the hours that breakfast was served on Saturday and was told from 7 till 12 noon. When we arrived at 10:15 am we were told they closed breakfast at 10:00am. Breakfast was included but we had to pay for breakfast in a hotel restaurant. We had credit thank goodness to pay for it. Not what we expected from a hotel of this rating.
This time, they didn't put body cream and other iitms you need in the bathroom.the decoration need a reefresh,to old.service at breakfast very bad, need to improve. The hotel is located in a beatifull area.
