we had some trepidation on our recent two night pre-cruise stay given the many poor reviews. but we didn't experience ANY of the complained-of issues. hotel shuttle on-time with a helpful with the luggage driver; easy, pleasant check-in process with energetic bell help; diamond upgrade to balcony suite overlooking MIA runways (room 520); clean room, comfortable bed, decent hilton sheets/linens, good water pressure. highlight for us was pool deck with bar/food service -- very nice/very tropical with good service. even the morning coffee at the hotel was good. AND our balcony and pool deck directly overlooked a main MIA runway in use 8am - 8pm -- we enjoy watching a large jet with colorful markings taking off with a roar, pondering what strange, exotic land it is off too based on its markings and might we go there one day too (ok; little geeky I know...). This Hilton gets unfair reviews and I am happy to correct the record, at least as to our stay.

My family and I stayed here recently after a cruise that left out of Miami. It was a reasonable uber ride to the hotel from the port and a convenient location near the airport for our flight out the next day. The hotel staff were lovely and made us feel welcome right away. We arrived early and had to wait for a room to be available but were able to use the pool and other amenities while we waited. The pool is large and enjoyable and there is a pool bar as well. My kids were fascinated with the iguanas that were in the landscape around the pool area. We had a great view from our room of the lagoon and we could watch the planes from the airport come and go. There is a restaurant and quick food options in the lobby and lots of restaurants in the area deliver. The shuttle to the airport runs every 30 minutes and was easy to hop on and go to the airport. Overall a wonderful experience and we will stay here again in the future.

I suppose you can’t expect much from an airport hotel but you would expect more from Hilton. It’s run down, far to crowded, and they grab you for every cent they can - penny pinching is how I’d describe it ! And the food ok but not great. Nice pool but too cold! And shuttle to airport works well.

I chose this property due to the airport proximity and late flight arrival. Pleased to be upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite with corner balcony as a Diamond member. Views over the blue lagoon. Two 55" flatscreen tv's. Older style furniture but OK. I missed a bathtub in the bathroom. Nice pool and garden. Small billing issue at checkout but quickly resolved. Received the 15$ Diamond credit but this will only pay for half a buffet breakfast. Overnight parking was 23$ (I read 20 at booking so I guess it recently increased). Overall short but pleasant stay.

This rating is for the airport shuttle at this hotel. Waited 15 minutes for shuttle and the driver passed us by at the airport, didn’t slow up or look. There was a group of us all yelling at the bus as it passed the designated spot. Called the hotel immediately and they said they would send him right back around. They didn’t. Had to get an Uber and it cost me money to get to the hotel instead of the free shuttle. Operator at hotel told me he radioed driver, yet 20 minutes later, no bus. Worst “free” airport shuttle.

I trusted Hilton’s partnership with my off site airport parking company. After getting off a 9 hour flight, I waited a good 20 minutes at the Hilton shuttle stop and the shuttle passed by without even stopping. I called the hotel desk and they said that they would radio the driver and he would circle back in 5 minutes. Twenty minutes and no shuttle later, I paid 37 dollars for an Uber to the hotel. In that time, I saw every other hotel bus come around a couple of times. I am a Diamond member at Hilton and would not consider this hotel for a future stay.

Hotel is run down and needs an update. Parking is $23/night for SELF PARKING. Wow. and there aren’t enough spots. Breakfast options are expensive (~$30/person). Our room was hot and would not cool down. There is a small fridge, but it’s filled with products they want you to buy and there’s a sign telling you not to use it for your items. The balcony is screened in which distracts from the scenery. We were not given any towels. When we asked they just said “I’ll send them up” - no apology. You can hear airplanes taking off and landing. The coffee lids don’t fit the cups. Our room’s bathroom and closet doors showed significant previous water damage. One of the four elevators was down for the duration of our 4-night stay. Our room door was almost impossible to open (you have to lay into it hard and essentially break in). There was an unnecessary fire alarm that triggered when an elevator got stuck. The warnings played on the loudspeaker were inaudible. We went downstairs and the hotel guests were panicked. There was no communication from staff. I asked the concierge who said “I don’t know. Ask security”. Wow. Some of these things are small, but it all adds up to an indication that the hotel staff and management do not care about the property or its guests.

The Waterview on the upper floor was beautiful. Bring earplugs. It felt like an air show…so close to the airport. The hotel has four guest elevators.For most of our visit, at least 2 of them were out of service. This meant lengthy delays, especially during peak time. When I tried taking the stairs from the 10th floor to the ground, the only exit was an emergency exit. The stairwell is in need of a fresh coat of paint. The service is fantastic and friendly. I was most impressed with the staff at the bar and the two ladies who work in the Hotel’s Starbucks. I highly recommend their menu.

My one-night stay, really just for six or seven hours before an early flight the next morning, was fine: it was comfortable and reliable enough. The atmosphere here is laid-back and inviting, with a spacious lobby with all the amenities full-service Hiltons are known for (e.g. restaurants, meeting rooms, pool). The property is certainly dated, but the common areas were kept up fairly well. Perhaps I’d give it a B grade. The staff are wonderful. The guy who checked me in was phenomenal; he was so kind, helpful, and accommodating. He assured me that I didn’t need to add any unknown incidentals to my debit card, which is a fear I have as I begin my travels (I don’t want to get low). All team members I met at this Hilton were also very warm and friendly. A well-oiled team! The rooms could do with some significant polishing. Yes, it’s an old hotel, which is not necessarily the issue…it’s the layers of dust on the lamp, and the small, pink stain on the bed, and the peeling of paint on walls. Those little things add up in a big way, and it made my stay less comfortable and relaxing than it could’ve been. I decided to just avoid the stain and not use the lamp and ignore the peeling paint, but if I had more energy and was staying longer, I would have requested to move rooms without delay. As a quick, overnight stop near the airport, I recommend this hotel to most people. There are obviously more modern options, but if the price is right, this Hilton isn’t horrendous. Kudos to the staff for driving me to rate four stars!

A great stay for a business meeting. Rooms were nice Hilton quality and cleanliness, though this is an older hotel. It was right across a lagoon/lake from the MIA airport but airplane noise was not noticed. Only stayed two nights but was able to enjoy the pool for a quick swim, and walk around the waterside path around the property. Incredible Iguanas sunned themselves over the noon hours on the waterside hotel lawn, there were a lot of birds etc with the naturalized shoreline surrounding the hotel property. Transportation wise - a short van ride from the terminal, and it ran frequently. The hotel was located in a business building park, so plenty of sidewalks to walk on /run on but the nearest non-hotel coffee/cafes/fast food was about a mile away (but the walk is pleasant under lots of trees and with water views. ) . Throughout, the staff was very friendly and the meetings food service was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, including local specialities.
