Very basic and overpriced in my opinion however think this is normal for Miami airport hotels. The positive point is the very helpful staff and the Latin cafe across the road. We had some trying to enter our room at 03.00 (they said reception gave them our room number) then the room alarms went off at 04.00 and 05.30 (set by previous guest) not what you want after a 10 hour flight!!!!
Everyone here at the Sonesta goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and well taken care of. If there is an issue with your room, the front desk (Santiago) is quick to call engineering to fix the issue and provide you with another room (things happen, right?). Wilson is an excellent bartender. Always quick with a smile (even through the mask) and a friendly greeting. He is very good to remember what your favorite drink is too… if you are here more than once. And… the van drivers are always super helpful with your bags and very friendly (special shout out to Jesus, the driver, he always makes you feel like you are a family member coming home for dinner… even though I am away from my family and at work). The van times every 20 minutes is super convenient too!! There are for sure more names that I should list here that do a great job… so,,. Sorry to have missed them in this list. Overall… as a business owner who hates hearing her employees complain in front of the customers… and hates hearing those same complaints from employees out in the world…. my hat is off to a great group of people who… even during the rough days… always stay professional and keep the smiles going!! Keep up the great work!! The only negative that I could say is… the rooms are just a little dated… however, they are very, very clean!!…
Went up to the hotel desk and had to get attention of the front design associate, Bern, who was cleaning his phone and not paying attention to me. After cleaning his phone he went to the computer and asked me what I wanted. Lol terrible customer service. I asked him to find my reservation that I made on Priceline and we said he didn’t see it in the system and I should try back in a hour. I went outside and called the reservations team for the hotel directly. They were able to locate the reservation and gave me a confirmation number for their hotel. I went back inside and asked him if he could look it up with the number and he refused to! After asking again he typed the number in and said he couldn’t find it. A lady named Francina who said she was the manager now got involved. She looked up my reservation through Priceline but could not find it. I called the reservations team again and told them the issue. 45 min has passed, and I am aggravated. I am 4 months pregnant and feeling very sick and Francina not Bern cared or had any alternative solutions. The reservation team member on the phone named Jody was very helpful and booked me a room directly through them. When I went back to the front desk and told them I re booked a room directly through them they told me they could not find the reservation. At this point I wanted a refund from Priceline because I had two reservations they could not find. I was on the phone back and forth with Priceline for an hour trying to resolve this. Bern was very rude to my mother who came in from the car to help me out and rolled his eyes at her continuously. The other guests got treated differently who arrived during the time we were sitting in the lobby trying to get this resolved. I will never return here based solely on the customer service and the supervisor needs way more training. I wanted to speak to another manager but she refused to allow me.…
Excellent helpful staff, Very good clean and spacious room for 2 adults and 1 11 year old. The only thing that let the hotel down was the breakfast expensive ($21 each)and not a good selection of food., coffee warm. Would definitely stay again but would have to find somewhere else to eat.
We spent the night here while traveling and were pleased with the comfortable room and the efficient customer service. The airport shuttle was very convenient. It was all we needed for our stay near the airport.
After 3 hours in the queue for passport control ( I agree, this is not the fault of the hotel ), another hour waiting time for the shuttle. Once arrived at the hotel, another hour to queue for check-in. Room was ok, but norhing special. Restaurant service was slow also, more then 30 minutes waiting time to get the menu. Next evening to our surprise room was not cleaned...we contacted the reception desk, another hour waiting time. If you choose this place, just make sure that you have enough patience to wait and wait and wait.
Good hotel Near by the airport. The hotel has a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Huge room with hugh bathtub Bit old design but works well. Good experiences and pretty good for business or staying over nearby the airport of Miami. Recommended
This is the second Sonesta property that I have been too and yet again, I am disappointed. The hotel is super dated, and the staff definitely need to improve their customer service skills. Also, the check-n lines at certain times of the day are unbelievably long (likely due to flights) plus you have to PAY for parking. Just pick another airport hotel, this is not it!
Buena Experiencia, nose quedamos por miles dias y fuel la perfect mini vacation especially with no kids around, they are pet friendly and even though the have a pet fee it's worth it.... will come back
By far the best property when staying in the vicinity of Miami International Airport. Very pleasant staff members who are always smiling making sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The front desk is loaded with a very talented team of professional staff members, must make mention of Fran, Lamara, Martha, Otris and the rest of the crew. Also restaurant is very clean, tasty menu must mention Saydar, Gustavo, and Fabie aka ding ding. For sure this is one of the hotel where Staff members go above and beyond in making sure your stay as wonderful as it can be. Louis.
