East Miami stands out for its modern and luxurious atmosphere, earning plaudits for its comfortable and sleekly designed rooms. The hotel's prime location is consistently lauded, with easy access to local shopping, dining, and nightlife. Guests enjoy a range of praised amenities, including a rooftop bar and pool, though some have noted minor lapses in service. While the staff receives accolades for their professionalism and friendliness, housekeeping responsiveness has attracted criticism. The hotel's value proposition has been questioned by many travelers, who cite unexpected charges and unmet promotional offers.

Torn writing this review. We travel often and have never had such a mixed experience. The location, vibe and decor was great. Always ubers out front. Zero waiting.

However. The service was non-existent and we are low-demand travelers. Checking in was easy but impersonal. Nobody looked up for a few minutes while we stared at the tops of three peoples heads. Nobody else was in line.

We ordered a bucket of ice 4 times. Twice through guest experience, once at the front desk and once at the lobby bar. Never received one, over 4 days! So, we threw out the bottle we hoped to enjoy on our balcony. That was our only request the entire stay. We didn’t try the restaurants. The service didn’t set the tone for a special dinner. Wonderful places walking distance though.

Room cleaning. We leave early around 8:00 and typically return around the same time at night to clean up for dinner. Returned to a dirty room, only to hear a doorbell and they started cleaning at 8PM. We sat on the balcony while they cleaned. Changed our dinner plans, etc.

What would have made it better?
Front desk: greet your guests.
Guest experience teams: respond to requests
Cleaning: please complete before 8PM
Guest amenities: ice bucket in room and access to a machine. Its hard to use the in-room mini bar without it.

If you step up customer service, the specialness of your building and location will make East a ‘must stay’.

Final thought. Would we return? Perhaps. We enjoyed the area enough to consider giving them another shot.

I have returned recently from a 7 night stay at East. I wanted to give an honest review as I read so many mixed before travelling. On arrival check-in was very quick and efficient. Perhaps only slight negative was not an explanation of the hotel amentities. I had to ask what floors things were on etc. Our room was very clean on arrival, no issues here apart from a few items missing, no hairdryer and no trash can. We requested both. We received hairdryer but no trash can. We requested this twice more and still received nothing. We ended up using a plastic bag! Not good service from this perspective. Pool area is clean and a great place to relax. The sun is around the pool at 9am till 12ish then disappears for bit reappearing through some adjacent buildings until 2ish (I seen some negative comments regarding this, this cannot be helped and not a hotel issue. You should expect shade if you book a city centre hotel with high rise buildings surrounding) We had drinks in Quinto la Huella. We enjoyed them and staff were friendly. Sugar we didn't go to due to minimum spend (surely this should be different for guests) some nights we would have just liked one drink there before heading for dinner (hotel are losing out with revenue here). During our stay you could opt out of cleaners coming into your room and if you needed anything just request at front desk. Halfway through our stay we requested more towels and toilet roll. Returned that afternoon to new towels in our room (old ones were not taken away...strange) but there was no toilet roll. When we requested these items, the girl at desk typed our request into computer, therefore, how can this be missed. Had to call down to request again. On check out the girl at desk asked if I wanted to see my bill? Of course I do, usually when staying in Miami other hotels i.e. Mandarin Oriental and Fontainebleau they run through charges with you. When she passed my copy over that was the end of the check out. There was no 'have you enjoyed your stay with us?' 'Do you need transport?' Etc. She seemed more interested in what her colleague was texting on his phone next to her. Overall I did enjoy the stay at hotel, probably due to the location and it was clean, however I probably wouldn't stay here again due to the service. They definitely need to do better.

I stayed for 5 nights...Feb 10-15
The check-in was very slow. I had to wait in line for a one counter person.
The elevators and room lighting were upscale.
the room design and linen were not plush. the bedsheets were coarse.
What irritated me the most was my room was not made up when I returned one day at 445pm.
The phone options for front desk and experience services just rang with no answer.
When I went to the counter to complain about their housekeeping service and lack of answering their switchboard, the counterperson wouldn't believe they did would not answer my phone call. She also insisted I must have had my privacy light on.
Niether was true.

Beautiful, but horrible!
No attention to the guests. We're a couple in a room that costs 2,300Usd for 5 days. We only had ONE bathrobe in the room and only in the first couple of days days, then NO bathrobe anymore. Just ONE pair of slippers, the worst in-room coffee amenities I've ever seen in all the hotels I have already stayed at. 2 coffee capsules and sugar, nothing more, no milk, no tea, no decaf. These two coffee capsules were not even replaced every day.
But worst of all was the bathroom shower. Without a closed box, during each shower, the bathroom floor turns into a pond. Perhaps the worst value for money I've ever had in my life, this hotel should cost less than half what it charges.
We decided to have the breakfast at Quinto, which only included basic continental breakfast. Any additional request (even scrambled eggs) entailed additional charges. I've had better breakfast offered in 3 star hotels.

Thank you for providing such a constructive feedback on your recent stay that we can utilize in order to identify where your experience could have been improved. Allow us to review your points: The hotel standard in each hotel room is to have the following: 1 bathrobe, 1 pair of slippers, 1 bottle of water, 2 espresso pods, condiments. Additional bathrobes, slippers, extra bottle of water, condiments, as well as tea and decaf espresso are provided upon guest request at no additional cost. We sincerely apologize for the lack of espresso pods replenishment as you are correct in the fact that they should have been replenished daily. Breakfast at our restaurant Quinto La Huella is offered as a la carte, but we also have a continental breakfast buffet at the daily rate of $24 per person, price that reflects that is is only meant for continental offerings which of course do not include eggs. All our guests have the option to add additional options a la carte to tailor their breakfast to their liking, without having to pay a set high rate to begin with. As all our showers are enclosed boxes except our ADA disability accessible rooms made as such so that guests with wheelchairs can be accommodated. We deduce that your reservation might have been for one of these units (likely to the sellout of all standard hotel rooms). But regardless of the facts surrounding these observations, we do understand that the result was a mediocre stay, and for which apologize and would love to have the opportunity to truly turn it around and show you a wonderful time on a future stay by tailoring it to your expectations by selecting a unit, supervise your stay, ensure the desired inclusions, in order to optimize your experience. Our Guest Experience Management team is looking forward to a future opportunity to connect with you and assist further. Until then, have enjoyable and safe travels.

One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The experience started with the 40 minutes it took to check in, which is ridiculous. The lobby was filled with people not wearing masks and the hotel staff did nothing about it. Then we enter the 2 bedroom suite we booked. Within minutes of sitting in the living room, we can smell an awful urine smell. We call to let the hotel know, and 1 day later the smell is still there. No apologies, no offers of credit or reimbursement, no other room to move us to. We are unable to even sit in the living room. The manager’s response is to tell us he doesn’t smell anything and they will remove the rug since the room is “not meeting our standards.” Yes, when we pay for a 2 bedroom suite for 5 nights, we do have standards that include a usable living room which doesn’t smell like urine!!

Thank you for choosing our property. We are truly sorry to hear of the discomfort while staying at our hotel. Since the pandemic we have increased our security and housekeeping staff, our cleaning and security patrolling efforts and started additional covid protocols in an effort to create a clean and welcoming environment. We apologize for the delay during checkin during this spring break peak travel season, as well as for the odor in your unit. Our management has already assisted by eliminating the issue via removing and replacing room items, and you have since expressed your appreciation to our team for taking care of the issue. We are standing by happy to assist in anything further you might require,

They charge a lot to do laundry for you and I was vacationing between two business trips so had to bite the bullet and use their service. They ruined multiple shirts and felt they should only compensate me for one of them. They also only took the price of one of those shirts off of the laundry bill. They charged me to ruin my clothes.

We truly appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear of your experience. To our understanding you reported only one shirt damaged during your stay and provided the shirt itself as proof, for which we truly apologized and removed immediately not only the cost of the laundry for the item but fully refunded you the cost of the item itself, as well invite you to our rooftop lounge to apologize for the inconvenience. As the second damaged item was not reported to us until after your departure, we would not be able to process a claim for it. However our management team contacted you to offer a suite upgrade on a future stay as well as drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) at our rooftop lounge. We truly hope to have the future opportunity to make up for the experience in a way that will far exceed your new claim.

We are checking out today after a 4 night stay at East and as I write this review I'm really struggling to find good things to say about this place.

The room itself is nice and large. It's great to have a kitchen and the two bathrooms are so useful since there are 3 of us.

There are many issues with the rooms though, as follows:

1. We faced a construction site and for the last 4 days i've listened to more chainsaw and hammer noises than I have in almost 9 years living in NYC. Additionally there is some strange droning noice that is so loud and constant we bascially can't use our balcony or keep the sliding door open. The front desk staff said they couldn't move us and so we had to deal with it day and night, night and day.

2. Rooms have lots of water damage. Ceiling, walls, even the floors.

3. Bathroom door doesn't even close and we gave up trying to call someone because nobody ever answers the phone at this hotel. Ever.

4. Housekeeping comes intermittently (they didn't come at all yesterday) and it doesn't appear that they clean any of the dishes / kitchen stuff.

On the plus side:

1. Location is great. I definitely prefer this area to South Beach.
2. Pool and surrounding area is beautiful!
3. After discussing with numerous front desk staff I was able to get a slightly discounted rate based on the construction situation but $1k a night for this place is nuts. I'm still not sure why we are paying as much as I paid at the Tokyo Peninsula Hotel.

Overall this place is not worth the crazy rates and we definitely won't stay here again.

I would not recommend this hotel for several reasons. I booked it at Miami Airport using my phone ostensibly at a rate of $329 on Booking.Com, however, that website sneakily rescheduled the stay to one week later because there was no availability. It was mid evening, and I made my way there using Uber (a great gamechanger company) only to find out my misfortune. The hotel reception told me that everything around was booked out for Valentines day but that they could offer me a disabled room at a rate of ~$450. In desperation I agreed to pay that thinking 'hey' it was after all a Luxuy hotel. It is not! And, the standards don't meet that level of quality. The most gross aspect was drying myself off only to find the towels were stained with feces or blood as you can see in the photo. Another factor that annoyed me was the near total disreagard for COVID precautions, for example, there are no hand sanitizers, and staff don't care about the risk of using iPads etc.
All in all a very poor and overpriced hotel.

We appreciate your honest feedback on your recent experience during the sold out Valentines Day / President’s Day weekend. Indeed every property in Miami had been sold out for days prior. We do take Covid standards very seriously and have hand sanitizing stations across our lobby for our guests, sanitize common areas frequently as well as use PPE across our own teams with masks and sanitizing liquid behind all our stations. We place fresh clean towels in each room as well as thoroughly sanitize it prior to every checkin. We are carefully investigating the incident regarding the towel to discover what transpired and for which we truly and deeply apologize. We would love the opportunity to discuss in private with you and attempt to make it right. Our management team would be grateful to be contacted by you at guestexperience@east-miami.com

As a regular guest here, I have had many bad experiences but since it is the most convenient location for me, I have continued to stay here despite the bad experiences and the high prices. Since there are so many issues and I don’t want to overwhelm readers, I’ll list only a few top concerns.

1. Booking and check-in: front desk often can not find a reservation booked online. As such it can take a long time to check in.
2. Elevators: the system is glitchy and often results in long line, which can be a huge cause of anxiety on a busy day.
3. Restaurant booking staff: generally very rude and at times hostile even when you are just trying report a problem with online booking. Staff will tell you it’s always your fault when nobody is saying anyone is at fault. This is, by far, THE WORST offense of them all, especially considering the high cost (the worst incident involved a reservation that has a $100 per person minimum charge for a meal). You would think that with high premium comes better service.
4. Food service: 95% staff act like they have never been there before. They don’t know you need a spoon for cereal, cream for coffee, etc. and when you ask them, they will mumble, walk away…and that is literally it. But that’s not even the worst past. The worst part is they are RUDE. Some of the waitstaff will walk by you and give you a look like you are bothering them.

I am hoping the situation will improve for this hotel because I really want it to work. But until then, I’ll not be coming back.

Our second home in Miami
Since it opened, we have always stayed at this hotel, because we spent almost 1 month, and the one bedroom suite is perfect for a couple.

Spacious, with full kitchen, large table in the living room, 2 bathrooms, a walking closet, small but comfortable bedroom. A small terrace to see the movement of the neighborhood, which is a lot, but with good sound insulation.

The pool is nice as it is very private to have a drink away from the crowd.

What I like most is that our elevator goes straight from the garage to the rooms, that is, it is not the same elevator as the crowded rooftop bar and other hotel rooms, where there are really a lot of people. In other words, we have the tranquility we need to spend a longer stay ..The garage is a bit expensive, like all in Miami, but it is safe.

The service is a little slow, and the daily cleaning schedule and it’s service is confusing. The only thing that I really didin’t like.
The gym is perfect, clean, spacious.
Reception is fast and efficient. We paid a little more than the other standard rooms, but it's worth it.
My photos are terrible here, so it’s better in loco.
