W South Beach hotel garners high marks for its cleanliness, with guests often mentioning the provision of fresh towels and a well-maintained environment. Despite some travelers considering the amenities overpriced, the hotel's atmosphere is consistently described as welcoming and stylish, with an array of praised amenities like beach and pool services. The rooms earn rave reviews for their spaciousness and views, complemented by recent renovations. While service is typically regarded as attentive and friendly, there are rare mentions of less responsive instances. Its prime beachfront location near South Beach is frequently celebrated by guests.

Stayed in Suite 1011 at the W in early February, 2020 (the week before Valentines Day). Rates were noticeably lower and better during this time of year. The suite is one of the most beautifully appointed suites I've ever stayed in. The suite has a smaller bedroom with a full bath and shower and a nice sized closet and drawers. This room is separated from the other, larger bedroom where the space is bigger and the bed is bigger as well. This larger room also has its very own bigger bathroom, tub and shower and is a sight to behold. The suite has a half bathroom as soon as you enter the suite and the long hallway leads directly to a kitchenette area (stove, top of the line microwave and refrigerator) which, in turn, leads to a dedicated spacious living room area with its very own luxurious couch and television. This suite also has two separate balconies that will give you a partial view of the Atlantic Ocean. Everything is top of the line (room service, spa service, etc.). The hotel is also connected to venerable high end asian restaurant, Mr. Chow's. If you decide you'd like to eat at Mr. Chow's though make a reservation as its a pretty popular place. The hotel has a smaller restaurant and a bar area called, "The Living Room". You can obtain quick bites and drinks here all while watching television or while conversing at the bar. Generally this hotel is at a great spot on South Beach. Its sort of in between mid beach and South beach areas. If you like high end, high service with great rooms this place will be for you. The only problem I encountered was the night before we were supposed to leave some workers were using equipment to scrub, shine the basketball court area and it made a lot of noise. I complained and management graciously took care of the problem...

Me and my partner in fact visited this hotel in 2017 for my 21st birthday! The hotel is situated right on South Beach, the hotel in fact have there very own section on the beach for hotel guests!
The hotel itself has a modern vibe, it was welcoming, clean and exciting. The simple touches of changing the mats within the lifts from Good Morning to Good Evening is a small detail I enjoy! The staff were attentive and friendly, especially by the pool area, a gentleman named Michael was always so friendly and provided an extremely high level of service!
The main pool area is very nice and picturesque, the area can become more lively depending on which guests are staying at the hotel. The hotel does offer a second pool which is quieter and more relaxing!
It is an extremely short walk from the pool area to the hotel beach area! There is usually a security guard who you have to show your room key too making the beach area that little bit more exclusive to the hotel guests.
Each room offers a balcony and the view of the sea is nice one to wake up to each morning. The hotel has a restaurant in there called the Dutch which we enjoyed a coffee from each morning.
Within the hotel is also Mr.Chow, which I have to admit we did not try but have heard good things about! Unsure how it compares to its sister restaurant in L.A.
The hotel also has a lovely spot, a little alcove where water trickles down the wall, it’s a lovely place to enjoy a few drinks before or after dinner, however it isn’t a huge space!
The hotel also has a night club, which I have to admit is not mine and my partners usual scene however it was quite a spacious nightclub and provided a very fun atmosphere!
The hotel also has a couple basketball courts, you can ask for a ball from the pool area or reception and go play for a few hours.
The hotel is not far from Downtown Miami, you can get a taxi and get there within 20 minutes.
The hotel is situated in a perfect place, you can easily walk places, walk along the beach, go for a shop or have a trip to Downtown.
I urge you to try a W Wake up Call! A drink I am still missing to this day!!

I would recommend!

I've always had this on my list to stay at in Miami, but the price (which is often above $1K/night) has always stopped me. Well thankfully I had some Marriott points, and I gave this a three night stay in their base room.

One thing I will say right away is that their base room is one that most hotels would charge a suite rate for. They are large with an oceanview balcony which is absolutely amazing.

We arrived very early on Thursday figuring we wouldn't be able to check in, just wanted to store our bags and go the beach, but we were given a room right away.

Beach service was lovely, drinks as expected are expensive (Pro-tip, get wine as there are several bottles that give you a much better value).

My only real issue was that they needed to restock their menu a bit better. I ordered several items and was told they were out. As a Marriott titanium, I ordered the breakfast a few times which was a continental. As it was the same price as must other items on the menu I thought they should have let us pick.

That being said you could get it via room service (at no charge) and the delivery of it the two days I order was lightning fast, within 15-20 minutes.

All of the staff throughout the hotel was lovely. I appreciated my W insider making a point to speak to me on the phone and I texted her with requests a few times throughout the stay and she responded instantly. I also used the app for a few requests like extra soaps etc and they were delivered right away.

The hotel is very well maintained, there were plenty of staff always cleaning the main lobby. and housekeeping each day did an impeccable. job.

While I think the hotel is priced quite a bit above what a W brand should be the staff is actually better than most of the St Regis's I have stayed at. Next time I've got a point bank I'll definitely be back!

I stayed for four days during the summer and the room renovations look very minimalistic and nice. This is Miami, so I don’t come in expecting excellent service, but even so I had several problems during my stay. First was waiting in line at the front desk to check in about 20 minutes and getting mowed down by every person trying to walk down the hallway. There were thunderstorms and rain for most of my stay, and while that’s not the hotel’s fault, they charge a $50/day Resort Fee that is to include a pool chair and a beach chair and umbrella. Obviously you can’t use these when it rains from 6am to 8pm, but they refuse to waive the fee (I don’t understand why they can’t just make the rate include this, it wouldn’t rub me the wrong way). Next day, after waiting about 30 minutes to get my car from valet, when it arrived, the driver got out of my car carrying two Publix bags full of liquor bottles and other things. When I asked the driver what he was doing, he pretended not to speak English. I asked the manager Adela Gurriaran for an explanation, she said she would “look into it” and “get back to me.” Two days later and several calls and texts later, she never got back to me. There is also a stupid Capiz shell chandelier in the bedroom that clangs whenever the air con is on. I asked for a solution and they offered to tape the chandelier together, it took them two days and three service calls to accomplish this task (luckily I brought ear plugs or I would have had to sleep on the couch). The sensor that controls the AC also fell off the sliding glass door the second day so the air wouldn’t turn on. I called down three times to have it fixed, it never got fixed and had no AC in my bedroom all day and night until FINALLY an engineer came up at 11:30pm and overrode the system. The sensor was never fixed. Room service food was consistently over-cooked, I think it sat under a heat lamp for too long before being delivered. My rate also includes breakfast daily and all the breakfasts were still charged to my final bill. Basic service issues like this shouldn’t happen when you’re paying $1000/night, and at check out, the manager Laura chose to be confrontational and argue with me for 30 minutes instead of actually looking into anything and fixing the errors (the breakfasts were finally removed and the valet was comped, but I still never got an answer on whether the driver took my car to Publix). A nice view and a comfortable room are nice to have, but given my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and don’t plan to return.

This is a nice property but for the price it should have had all the bases covered.

I imagine some of the issues revolve around the fact that the hotel probably cut back on staff during the pandemic and then were overwhelmed when the tourist flood gates opened up toward the end of a cold Winter along with restricted travel to and from Mexico.

First of all this is a party hotel and not a place for relaxation.
Example, the pool has a disc jockey in the afternoon that plays music also played at dance clubs. Very loud and not relaxing if that is what you want to do.

The front desk staff was overwhelmed and seem to be working very long hours. More than once after asking a question, had a manager simply walk away without an explanation as to what they were doing. After waiting several minutes I asked another staff member what was going on and was told the manager was trying to resolve my issue although the manager never told me what he was doing.

Again they were overwhelmed.

The rooms were nice but if coffee makers are in the room it would be good to also have coffee cups as well as glasses for wine should you choose to use the mini bar.

Once again most likely due to reduced staffing.

No turn down service was offered.

In room dining had a very limited menu and this may have been due to slow times during the pandemic.

Lastly, stay away from rooms on lower floors close to Collins Avenue unless you really want to hear the exotic sports cars drag race into the early morning hours.

South Beach is what it is and I will be glad when travel restrictions to Cabo are relaxed.

An amazing hotel located in South Beach Miami, you can get to the beach through the pool area which houses a back gate straight onto the beach. Clean rooms with the clean trendy W feel made a comfortable stay at South Beach, nearby is shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Lunch poolside is amazing with fab cocktails, a girls trip which was relaxing for all of us.

The grounds are wonderful, as is the location. Three of my 6 favorite hotels in south beach are side by side - the one, the W, and the Setai. So, there are three of the nicest hotels in the area side by side. So, as you could imagine, it’s a great location. (The best hotel list in South Beach also includes the Faena, the Betsy, and the Delano. The edition is also nice.) My favorite is still the One hotel because of its roof top bar, but the W is a great choice - especially for Bonvoy members, which is why I’ve repeatedly chosen it. I like the grounds, along with the integration of a couple of bars in the pool area. The inside space is also nice, especially in the evening. I’ve stayed in multiple rooms over the years, and some have been very large. However, my favorite so far is room 930. I’m told it’s one of the few studio suites that has beach front views. I’d recommend it. As a Bonvoy ambassador, I didn’t get an upgrade (not a surprise because I’d super bowl weekend), but they made super I got a nice room and even sent some amenities up to the room (which was very thoughtful). The only recommendations I would give - give bonvoy golds and higher free breakfast buffets instead of 40 percent off. You may have difficulties getting a late checkout, but those were the only minor issues. Customer service is great.

My husband and I stayed at the W South Beach for 5 nights using points. The property and facilities are amazing (free use of bikes and tennis courts), much better than the Ritz down the street where we stayed for 2 nights after. The room, while well decorated, had paper thin walls and the screaming children next door kept us up all night. Service was disappointing for a 5-star hotel and we encountered a number of issues:

1) upon check in, they offered us breakfast or points since we are ambassador elite Bonvoy members. We chose breakfast and the next morning we went down to the main restaurant for breakfast only to be charged. The restaurant told us that the breakfast included only applies to a continental breakfast ordered in the room.

2) nevertheless they did say that there was a 20% discount on F&B for guests. Yet when we came back for lunch and noticed they had left out the 20% discount on the bill, they told us that the discount only applies to breakfast!

3) upon checkout, there was no one to help me with my bags. It was drizzling and as I stepped out of the awning onto the street, my bags fell and I was struggling for a few minutes in the rain. Finally, someone approached but instead of helping me he asked me to move out of the way because I was blocking a parked car.

That said, the pool and beach are great if you don’t mind waiting 5 hours for a chair and people smoking weed around you.

I stayed at the hotel on business and the accommodation was to be paid by my colleague (also at the W Hotel) via a corporate credit card. When I checked in the staff requested a credit card to authorise USD $250 hold against my account. This is standard practice and i did not hesitate to hand over my personal card. I was horrified to see later that day that AUD$4,500 had been charged to my account!!! The lobby staff informed me they would reverse the charge however some 4 days later this had not occurred. In short the mistakes beyond that were ridiculous! I still do not understand what this charge represented as it significantly exceeded the accommodation charge. On check-out they told me they would credit my account the difference between the amount charged and the actual amount that should have been charged. But of course that didn't happen either, they proceeded to take another charge for the accommodation amount. After several emails and more than a week after I checked out I finally received my $4,500 back into my account but all the Hotel said was that it was my bank's fault not their fault. Not once did they admit to any errors including poor communication and charging an amount to my account without authorisation. The Accounts Department were rude and did not attempt to resolve my complaint in a timely manner. In fact, I asked them to provide contact details to elevate my complaint however am still awaiting a response.
As a result of not reimbursing my funds initially they did provide a USD$100 credit for me to use at the Hotel but that was little comfort given the chaos that occurred post my checking out. Based on this alone I could not recommend the hotel.
And as for the hotel itself, yes nice but would not stay there again for many reasons with fundamental ones including:
1. The noise at night was horrific - from construction to parties, it was like having the door open it was so noisy so difficult to sleep;
2. It was the 3rd day before I received any hand towels or foot towels. i had not asked for them initially as i presumed they did not provide any given there were none in the room upon check-in
3. No long hanging for dresses! Really, I'm in Miami, all you wear are dresses!

Well, the place is very cool. I have stayed there three times last year. I would say the main pool is definitely a no, but there is a private pool that has high fence and a lot of shrubs growing around it which is not used very often and you could probably do it in there. The beach is also not nude, but there are a lot of very very skimpy bathing suits.
