Rooms are cool, upgraded us complimentary checked us in early, our flight landed at 630a
The restaurant attached overlooks the bay, which is beautiful to get a sunrise mimosa at. They have a beach club attached and easy access in and out for taxi Uber!

Good: Location, sun downer and amazing concierge Really bad: Frequent private parties. Wedding parties every weekend. They are using all of the PA of the ressort. You are forced to hear all of the „funny speeches“ and strange music all day long. Pool side rest rooms will be closed to ressort guests as well. You need to dress up and go to the lobby !

This hotel is absolutely filthy. After checking in after a long day travelling we were shown to a total of 3 rooms all as equally filthy as the other. We were travelling with a toddler and to find chips and nail clippings in a corner of the room was just disgusting. One of the rooms had chewing gum all over the rug and the shower cubicle in the room we slept in the first night was so grimy we had to wear flip flops. The body wash dispenser was empty and the iron did not work but despite calling the front desk for replacements none appeared. No one seemed interested in our complaint and one member of staff asked ‘do you want to check out?’ At 11pm with a toddler all we wanted was a clean room. The next morning after speaking to Stacey the manager she listened to our concerns and kindly moved us to a newly refurbished suite.

I generally had a very good perception of Mondrian Hotels prior to staying at the the Mondrian South Beach. I've actually been wanting to stay at this hotel for awhile now, so I was excited to finally give it a try! Unfortunately, the hotel was really a let down. It's nothing like all the other Mondrian Hotels that I've experienced. It really shouldn't even be considered a Mondrian. The lobby was nicely done, so maybe the lobby was more recently renovated, because the room was extremely outdated, in poor condition and frankly not very clean. I think my room was called a studio which was a little larger than most of the other rooms, but the extra space was just empty space. I would have hoped for at least a big comfy lounge chair, but the room was extremely sparse. With tile floors, the room also felt very cold and cavernous. It desperately needs a large area rug. It also didn't help that the air conditioning was set to 64 degrees when we arrived, so we had to turn on the heat just to get the room to an acceptable temperature. At the cramped entry of the room is what appears to be a kitchenette, but it's been stripped down to nothing but a waste of space. The bathroom was actually quite large, but not efficiently designed. Most of the bathroom is taken up by a very large vanity where the entire top of the vanity is the sink. It looks sort of interesting, but truly not very functional. The shower was the worst part. The handheld component was not functional, so you can only use what was supposed to be a rain shower head that was also a light fixture. The light fixture was falling and the shower stream was extremely strong (to the point that it almost stings your skin when it makes contact). Normally, strong water pressure would be a good thing, but the streams of water unfortunately spray in every which way rather than in the direction it's supposed to. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all different and were supposed to be attached to the wall of the shower. Unfortunately, the body wash was empty when I arrived, so I asked the front desk to have it refilled while I was out. Instead of refilling the empty bottle in the shower, someone simply left another different bottle of body wash in the room. I definitely would not recommend this particular hotel and I will definitely think twice before booking another Mondrian in the future.

The resort was lovely. Beautiful pool and cabana area, delicious food at the restaurant and a very welcoming team. My gripe, which I shared with them was the attention to detail in cleaning the rooms. I always wipe down light switches, doorknobs, thermostats, cabinet handles, remotes etc, especially since Covid, but also - it’s just how I was raised. Usually it’s just a precaution and my Lysol wipes don’t pick up any residue. At Mondrian, my wipes turned black. I was moved to another room that was recently deep cleaned, but I also had to do my own cleaning to feel comfortable in the space. The rooms have general wear and tear (more than the average) ie. stains on the sofa and cushions, rust on bathroom surfaces, worn cabinetry and the list goes on. I never actually sat on the sofa, which is a shame because the room had a condo vibe I could have appreciated during this solo trip where I was trying to relax and focus on self-care. I heard from a few folks at the resort that they are working on upgrading the rooms so I hope they do. They have great bones to work with here. At the restaurant, Jason and Wendy made my stay and I highly recommend the resort features. The stay itself was enjoyable during the parts where I was not in the room as much!

Cannot believe anyone would rate this anywhere over 3 stars. The ONLY redeeming quality is the restaurant with lovely staff and delish food. It’s not beachside, so look forward to awful views of parking lots. It’s not inspected, I saw at least 5 building code violations in my room alone, including exposed wire in my bathroom. Missing remotes, lamps, the couch was nearly invisible it was so tiny, but covered in marks on the white leather. Chairs were terribly marked up and old too. No full length mirror. The housekeeping entered your room whether you had “do not disturb” on your door or not. The front desk doesn’t show up to work or answer the phone. The rooms are poorly pasted over with wallpaper to cover god knows what. Most light switches don’t work. The staff is lacking accountability - “if your chair is broken you should call housekeeping not me.” Furniture is absurdly cheap and the placement in the room defies logic. No room on the bathroom vanity for your toiletries or cosmetics. And while they advertise malin goetz toiletries, it’s actually a rip-off brand called “girl boy” or some other such thing that is below Marriott courtyard standards. Look, if I was in Romania, this might be considered a mid hotel, but this is a tragedy on south beach. Truly the place needs far more improvements and thought. It’s like none of the staff have any hospitality experience. It’s gross, it’s old, it’s worth avoiding unless you have some desire to experience the third world in south beach. Give me the airport Hyatt any day of the week over this slowly dying tragedy of a hotel.

Sad to see an iconic hotel suffer from neglect and under funding. This coupled with poor staff training and management indifference mean that this, my 30th stay here will be the last. Shower did not work (initially told to wait until next day when they could source a piece) eventually gave in to insistence for room change. Rooms scruff, peeling wallpaper, dirty sofas, unplanned bathroom, stains on floor, blown and rusted furniture. Then the service. A telephone not working, utter indifference and accent on up charging. Fought for a $100 credit to bill, but given the obligatory service and resort fees this means little.
Unless you are of a certain profile (musician, influencer or anything more hip or dodgier) you do not exist. The place has been run down and exists on none too picky clientele. Looking at the facile responses to other bad reviews, their PR function is also limited.
I am saddened to say all this of a place I feel was joyous, with great location and happy memories. However, what this hotel has become means I cannot recommend to anyone.

The main part was working however understandable you wanted the handheld to work as well. In the end we switched you to another room that you enjoyed and was happy with after we checked in with you. We’ve just spent a brilliant week in Miami staying at the Mondrian, the hotel is lovely, the rooms are very spacious and the pool area, beach club and view of Miami were amazing. From reading the other reviews maybe we were just unlucky with the person who checked us in. I don’t know her name as she didn’t introduce herself but we weren’t offered the complimentary champagne despite seeing others in reception drinking it, and neither did she give us any information regarding the concierge or explained that you can not currently make use of the paddle boards, kayaks or jet skis at the hotel, the pool staff didn’t seem to know this either. Eventually we asked at reception and it was explained to us that you have to go to South Beach for paddle boards and kayak hire or the marina for jet skis. Charlotte the concierge was great and arranged for us to visit the Everglades which was well worth the visit. Our rooms were nice, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Our room was an apartment room so had a cooking stove and microwave however the room had no cooking equipment or plates, bowls etc, you had to request anything you needed which wasn’t really ideal. There was also very limited storage space in the room, with only a wardrobe for clothes and no drawers other than a couple in the kitchen area. Finally the food was good, although we did only eat a couple of meals around the pool there, however it was a little expensive. Overall this is a lovely hotel in a great location.
