I stayed at this hotel about five or six years ago it, was quite nice. My experience last month left a lot to be desired. First, I booked a reservation at Surfside West accidentally, that property is on the other side of the road and overlooking an open pit of construction. At $400 plus per night we left and after much trouble booked into the original property, The Grand Beach. It was more expensive but a much better view and their beach is better at the moment. We got a room on the 20th floor which was nice, however there were large garbage bags at the end of the hall right when we checked in, not a nice first image. I went to take a look and it ends up that there was construction on the last two rooms of the hallway, The hotel made no effort to mark this area as under construction, etc. I noticed when I got back to the room that there was a screw stuck in my shoe sole. Our room was not cleaned well, there was sand on the floor and in the white plastic tray on check in. There was dental floss or something in the 2nd shower drain and caulking or grout on the shower floor which remained there for the duration of our stay. The doors were grimy. Every time I went to take a look to tell someone at the front desk there was a big line and it felt like people had complaints of their own in these lines, also about cleanliness etc. The bottom line is the hotel needs to do a better job in terms of management or it will continue to go downhill. I’ve made several attempts to contact the hotel after my stay to discuss these issues, they have not been returned.

Stayed at the Grand Beach Resort with my husband to celebrate our anniversary, although we live in Miami; we had the perfect stay-cation.

Our room was updated, the resort over all is well kept! The 7th floor has an adult pool (you must be over 18 years of age to access) Which is very nice while trying to relax (no kids splashing or yelling) there is also a bar on this floor and the view is phenomenal. Check in/out is a speedy process here, luggage is kept in storage until you leave for the day after check out and beach chairs/umbrellas are complimentary with your stay

Valet works fast, wait time is short

Not to mention, our balcony was spacious with a beautiful ocean/city view

Recommend, if you're looking to stay on the beach!

I stayed here for a weekend trip with my sister. The hotel itself is nice & modern but the rooms smell a bit musty for some reason. Our last night we went out to dinner & when we came back we noticed someone was in our room because the toilet seat was left up and the toilet paper was folded. We called the front desk to ask them about this and she told us she would call us back. She never did. In the morning we went down to the front desk to tell them about it and she told us to go sit in our room and wait for the head of housekeeping to come and ask us questions. It was our last day to be able to be by the pool and beach. Why couldn’t the first receptionist deal with it the night before? Why can’t they look at their cameras & see who came in our room? Very very weird situation. Didn’t make me feel safe to know someone was in our room. The situation was handled so poorly.

Start to finish horrible! Understaffed. We left after two days into what was to be a 5 night stay and since they would not refund went to their surfside location ( better but still not anything I would ever recommend. Rooms were dirty. 4 towels for 2 bedroom with pullout, dirty slippers sticking out from under bed. Fridge, coffee maker and trays all filthy upon arrival. No hand towels no wash cloths, no one answers phone at front desk or housekeeping. Dirty everywhere, nobody wiping elevators or common areas. Smelled like pot everywhere we went. They let locals use the limited facilities so no beach chairs or umbrellas left for guests and pool was packed with poorly behaved people. At 4-figure per night prices it is completely unacceptable.

Room was not clean had gum on bathroom floor and it wasn't welcoming when you plan for honeymoon special after paying $500 and not getting service you need. Property is beautiful but no airport pick up or drop service. They charge for food in room and it doesn't even say anywhere when you book that inside room anything you eat ir drink water we will charge you. After paying this much and hotel doesn't provide water it’s ridiculous. There are many other property better near by south beach. There was no Colgate or mouth refresher. I dont know just for bef and swi

Please do note that room rates vary based on number of factors, such as stay dates, room type booked etc. Furthermore, the amenities and services included for the quoted room rate are clearly noted throughout the booking process for guest reference. Very disappointed with this hotel . The bathrooms have no counter space and only pedestal sinks. They only provide 1 towel per person and no washcloths. No rigs in rooms do wood floors are very damaged. The $35 per day resort fee is ridiculous and I was supposed to get one free drink for this which the front desk man with a pony tail ( never got his name ) tried to tell me I wasn’t entitled to because I booked through 3rd party website . He insisted I show him my email receipt before giving me ONE free glass of house wine after spending over 4K here! The food prices are high and they add 20% tip on everything, even on the take away coffee from the coffee bar. Some employees are very nice like the concierge and female bartender who served us. But save your money and go elsewhere! Definitely not worth it !

We just returned from a five-night stay at the Grand Beach Hotel, our first trip back to Miami in a year. I searched for a nice hotel in the South Beach area with an ocean view and a balcony. At just about every hotel, the price for an ocean view was well over a thousand per night. We decided to stay at the Grand Beach which is on 48th & Collins. We arrived early and the front desk clerk, Jesus, greeted us with a big smile and said that he'd waive the early check-in fee. (I couldn't believe the room was ready at 10:30am!). The spacious room, located on the 17th floor was beautiful and had a small balcony with two chairs and a table facing the ocean. The room and balcony also had nice views of the inter-coastal waterway, a nice surprise. The hotel offers free yoga every morning on the 7th floor outdoor deck and the instructor was great. The adult pool on the 7th floor was a nice escape from the two family (I.e. noisy) pools on the main level. The hotel has a nice gym but we didn't use it. The lobby has a cafe and bar too. The hallways are white and very brightly lit which gives the overall appearance of a clean environment. Throughout our stay the staff was very friendly, especially Basil (front desk) and Ivy (our virtual personal assistant). (We received nice texts from Ivy every day.). We wish that the hotel had bikes so that we didn't have to walk 4 blocks to rent a City Bike. It would be a nice touch if the hotel provided free water bottles as well. The Grand Beach is not the Four Seasons, The Edition or 1 Hotel but its an excellent value for the money! I highly recommend the Grand Beach if you want a beautiful ocean front room for almost half the price of other luxury hotels in the Miami Beach area.

Just spent 6 days at this hotel. Full disclosure , our first time in Miami.
Family of 4, 2 kids ( 9 & 15 ).
The Good :
Excellent location, private beach access, boardwalk, 3 swimming pools and 4 hot tubs
1 of the pools on 7th floor is adult only with 2 out of 4 hot tubs there.
Most of the staff is really friendly and polite.
We rented 2 bedroom suite on 19th floor facing the ocean.
It had 2 bedrooms, 2 full bath and 2 balconies.
The room was spacious and the view from the balcony was amazing ( see photos attached ) .
Both pools were heated and clean.
Beach chairs etc.. were always available
Hotel restaurant had a really good food and lobby espresso bar had nice ice cream and great coffee!
There are 4 Elevators and we did not spend more than a few min wait each time.
Beds were comfortable

The eyebrow raising:
Parking is $47 / day at the hotel flat fee
Drinks are crazy expensive ( Mojito = $19 ), a shot of Makers Mark = $17
The room is very outdated and deteriorating ( see photos )
bathroom faucets falling off, bathtubs paint missing, locks not locking, basically something you would see at Motel 6 and would not thing twice about it due to the price but for $700 / night, I expect perfection!
There were only 2 chairs in the entire suite and when we asked for more we were told there aren't any...
Towels where very old and worn out
Shower heads were rusty and old
There are no lights at the pool and hot tubs so after 8pm you can't really see anything or swim at those pools ( you can swim but won't see much ) . same with the hot tubs.
Beach chairs at the beach are being locked for the night at 5PM which is strange.

My kids did enjoy pool beach and hammocks by the pool ( nice touch ) but the hotel really needs renovation.
Next time I'll choose a different hotel that has better quality rooms.

In addition, information pertaining to both resort fee and valet parking is available on line for traveler reference prior to booking and travel. It is also our understanding that you were disappointed with the pricing of drinks onsite. We can assure you that we strive to maintain the pricing in our food & beverage outlets compatible with the standard in our area. Horrible Hospitality from the General Manager, Guest Relations Manager, and Executive Assistant. This hotel is not enforcing the safe practices and regulations for Covid-19. Many guests were observed without facial masks, staff as well especially the valet attendants. People cramming inside the elevator and no one is enforcing the rule of maximum 4 people per elevator ride.

We paid nearly $500 a night for a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Although the hotel indicates that it is a non-smoking facility, our neighbors were smoking marijuana all weekend long and that smell was permeating down to our balcony and into our bedroom. My wife is asthmatic and we have a young child so we could not enjoy hanging out in the balcony, even though we paid premium for this room. When we complained to the hotel, they said they'd take care of it, but that never happened.

To add to the fiasco, one of our guests cut his foot with broken glass that was left in the balcony from a previous guest, within the first 10 minutes of us checking into the room. The bed sheets in the master bedroom were dirty with some sort of stain and we had to get housekeeping to do a full sweep of the room. Our fridge was frozen and was not cooling. Live roach in the bathroom! The room cleanliness was less than desirable. Insufficient pool and beach towels for the guests. On several occasions we were told we'd have to wait two hours for beach/pool towels.

Valet service is inefficient. We missed dinner reservations even though we called for the car 20 minutes prior to us going downstairs. Then the valet had the audacity to say that we never contacted them for the vehicle to be ready and made us wait behind a long line of guests, not to mention the rude valet attendant!

Stay away.....Find a better place!

I think you can order drinks on the beach once the bar opens .You can bet it will be crazy expensive!

In our King Oceanfront View Suites there is no actual door separating the bedroom from the living room area, where the sofa couch is situated; however, the main bathroom in the room is found in between the bedroom area and the living room area, which provides for some privacy. On another note, we do have 1-bedroom suites available at the hotel, which come with a partial ocean view and which do have a door separating the bedroom from the living room area for added privacy and comfort.
