Detailed Reviews
When we arrived, the lobby was full of Italian flight attendants and pilots drinking Prosecco. Jose, the host of this lovely party, welcomed us with two glasses of Prosecco. It was the nicest check in experience I’ve ever had. The lobby smelled really nice and the design elements were a fun mashup of luxury and jungle. I was delighted that the sensory experience continued in the elevator. Not sure if it was because it was winter or if the staff are good at spreading people apart, but we were never disturbed by noise and the bed was perfectly comfortable. Our room was small, as many other reviews have mentioned, but as New Yorkers we are accustomed to prioritizing geographic location over square footage. As we explored Miami Beach, we became more and more happy with our location. It’s chill, still full of locals and their hangouts, and easy to get to anywhere we wanted. And the hotel has tons of nice seating on the third floor and street level, so there are lots of places to chill outside of your room. Even though the weather was a bit chilly, the pool was nice and warm. If you want to get a break from the DJ’s beats, good luck because the soundscaping is completely thorough. The music and volume at the pool are more chill during the week. The bikes were a really nice perk, as well as the gym and water refill station. We appreciated all of the staff, especially Jose! The worst hardship you’ll encounter is deciding whether to go to the beach or the pool.

What makes The Goodtime Hotel most memorable and well worth it are the front desk staff: Ahmed, Iara, Ken, and Jose. Ahmed for his understanding and effort when I randomly showed up looking for a clean place to stay and offering a welcome drink, Iara for offering the complimentary espresso/coffee machine for my morning java jolt before heading out, and welcome drink, and replacement of beach towel, Ken for his always friendly smile and service and beach towel, and Jose for patiently explaining about the complimentary Flow water boxes with no worry of additional charge unless items are consumed. The location is perfect with plenty of great dining options on Washington Ave, Collins Ave, and Ocean Drive, shopping for Miami memorabilia, the beach just minutes walk away, beach chairs available for hotel guests on 7th Street, and partnership with local businesses such as F45 and K'Alma Spa, allowing for a free workout and reduced price spa services. You can also walk to Lincoln Road Mall if you're reasonably fit. The hotel also has a nice pool, the site of what looks like fun parties during the weekend, an indoor and outdoor gym, library, and Strawberry Moon Cafe. People comment on the room sizes, which are compact, but honestly if you're in South Beach the last place you should be spending the most time is in your bedroom. Also, the room is fine for a single person or a couple that doesn't mind closer proximity. They're clean, artfully-retro decorated, and include a TV with Netflix. If you need to work on your laptop I highly recommend working poolside in a lounge chair, grabbing an indoor or outdoor table at the Strawberry Moon Cafe, or sitting in the library. All the staff here are great and will do what they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely come back, but this time with my family.

The hotel is beautiful. Very clean, well decorated and very fragrant. It is in the best location in Miami Beach. It's very easy to find. It doesn't offer breakfast, but on the third floor there is an excellent grab and go snack bar, with a fair price. There is also a great restaurant on the third floor, but with so many nearby restaurant options, it is an alternative. There's a Walgreens and a CVS on the back corner, where you can also get snacks. Very close to Ocean drive (2 blocks). Offers beach service, with 2 complimentary lounges (umbrellas are chargeable, 20 dollars). Parking is paid, 50 dollars/day, with valet. You can leave and enter as many times as you want. In the next block there is public parking for 30 dollars/day, but it is "no in and out", that is, if you leave and come back, you start paying from scratch. Excellent layette and mattress. Employees are the height of politeness and availability, they speak Spanish, but they can scratch a pt if needed. Very patient and available. On the weekends there is a very good pool party with a DJ in the pool, but it ends at 6pm. Despite this, there is zero noise/vibration in the rooms. You don't even notice there's a party going on next door. They also offer 2 hours of complimentary cycling. There is an open-air gym, similar to a CrossFit box (very good).
They realized it was the day before my birthday and I received freshly baked cookies in my room, with a beautiful card (I was even scared when I received it), a treat from the ultra attentive Jessica. I hope I have cleared up your main doubts. 😊

Pick another Marriott:
My observations - no acknowledgment for status (titanium) - no upgrade to room. Room was smaller than a NYC room. Had to requested the promoted Prosecco at check in. Didn’t deliver on other advertised “perks” Common areas need a good scrubbing. Breakfast was very slow - severely understaffed. No refill on coffee despite numerous requests. Be aware service charge on all food and drinks (20%). I would try another Marriott property. They use their money to promote on social media but don’t spend time on the actual guest. One of the pools strange shade of green which concerns me about the chemical levels.
Bottles of body wash - hand wash - shampoo almost empty in room. First day we were here pool closed because hosting a party and went to onsite restaurant and they said we couldn’t eat there - they were out of food due to big party. We weren’t told any of the closures prior to arrival.
If you decide to still try this property - one other warning. We booked the Marriott long term stay rate and it went down considerably before check in and the hotel would not adjust the rate. We would have had to cancel 2 days prior to our stay and rebook to get the lower rate. I didn’t realize until 24 hours prior. So use my mistake as a guide about checking the rates 48 prior to check in.

If you want to party with locals who are trying to get instagram famous, go here. This is not a hotel with a pool, it’s a hotel with free access to a pool club in actuality. Locals get on the guest list and free bottle service at this pool club. If you want the pool party vibe, this is your place.
If you wanted a premium hotel with a nice pool, this is not your place. Please go elsewhere. We watched many guests get kicked out of sofas and cabanas at 11am before the party. Hotel guests are entitled to 10 pool chairs, over which they must fight. There is no shade unless you pay $1500+ for bottle service. The pool is well above 104 degrees, gross. Hotel guests can enjoy the pool from 7a-11a. When the party ends, you’re kicked out of any cabanas. Their menu drinks are pre-mixed so unless you get a vodka soda your drink is just a mix poured over ice. lol.
The staff is incredibly nice. Very courteous and helpful. Front desk staff recall names, housekeeping is great, pool staff is understanding. Water bottles are not permitted so people who like to hydrate or are sober should be very nice to the pool staff. They were very accommodating and the hotel should not prohibit hotel guests from bringing empty water bottles. 10/10 for the staff, but I will not be coming back to listen to meh DJs with no shade or water and people wearing fake Gucci.

Dear sportecsp600m, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent stay with us. I apologize that the pool scene was not to your liking during the pool parties. However, I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed our staff and that they were helpful to you! We would love to see you again in the future, perhaps during the weekdays when there are no pool parties.

We were delighted with our stay at this Miami hotel! Just arrived after a long night flight, we were warmly welcomed by the manager Nahum and Ibrahim, who with great sympathy checked us in without charging us any additional cost. This gesture was only the beginning of an extraordinary experience.
The view from our room was breathtaking, with the sea stretching to the horizon. The hotel's furnishings are an explosion of vibrant colors and artistic details that create a unique and lively atmosphere. Each corner looked like a small work of art, making the environment not only comfortable, but also aesthetically pleasing.
The pool was a real retreat, perfect for relaxing under the Miami sun. Overall, this hotel exceeded all our expectations, thanks to the kindness and professionalism of the staff. We look forward to returning!

The Queen room was extremely tiny and claustrophobic with only one outlet above the bed's headboard. For $200 more a night, I was moved to a King which is a regular sized hotel room. They gave me an ADA room so more room and 2 plugs above the headboard but why is the plug by the desk blocked by the desk and not usable due to the coffee maker and mini fridge plugged in? The desk also did not have a chair. I called and asked for one and was told 20 minutes. Nothing ever came. Two days later I called again and was finally delivered a chair that was obviously from the front office.
Housekeeping was a joke. The first time they made up my bed and left new towels on the bench. A pillow was left on the ground, mirror left dirty, used wash cloth still on shower floor, no new tissues or laundry bag, 2 used coffee cups left on the nightstand.
The next time, they made up the bed, this time without a sheet, same pillow still on the ground, 2 out of 3 used coffee cups picked up. While talking to the front desk manager about another complaint, he promised me full service for the next day, noted I was leaving at 9am and scheduled housekeeping for noon. Housekeeping never came. At 5pm when I was napping they entered but quickly left.
Regarding the complaint I mentioned, I took 2 shirts to the front desk at 9am to be dry cleaned and returned by 7pm same day. The shirts never arrived, I called about them the next morning and was promised a call back. At 8pm on the second night, the bag with dirty shirts is delivered back to my room as if that is what I wanted. These were the shirts I was planning to wear for the convention I was attending and the hotel failed two days in a row.
Additionally, the restaurant wasn't good. My simple American breakfast was bland with no flavor. Randomly a complimentary breakfast was offered Thursday morning and that tasted better. Additionally, the hotel has no bar available when the restaurant and pool are closed like they are at night during the week so the only option to use my drink tickets was on two wines served in their Holiday Inn-esque cafe. The cookies they made were very good.
The front desk staff, front desk manager, and bellmen were all very nice but incompetency obviously runs rampant at this hotel. With all of the options in South Beach, I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed for five nights on points in January 2025 for a little getaway. Overall, I had a great time. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but since I traveled for leisure, it didn’t bother me.
The hotel offers some great Marriott Platinum benefits:
The complimentary breakfast was excellent. We were given a special Marriott menu with some cooked-to-order breakfast items that were delicious.
They provided a pool cabana with no minimum spend for one of the pool parties. In addition, I received a complimentary fruit plate and a bottle of sparkling wine. The pool parties were fun and a great way to spend a few hours.
The resort fee also includes access to beach chairs just a few blocks down the road. I was able to grab beach towels from the front desk.
The staff was great all around.
The library area was cozy and a good place to spend a few hours catching up on emails or reading a book.
The only minor downside was that I was not granted a 2 p.m. checkout, as the staff claimed the hotel was full. However, when I checked the Marriott app, plenty of rooms were available on the day of my checkout, so that didn’t make much sense to me. Other than that, I had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this hotel for a vacation.

We stayed there as part of a group of 3 couples in early October. The hotel is quirky but all services offered are cut to the bone and are exorbitantly expensive. . The rooms are tiny with the double bed pushed up to the wall as there is not enough space to walk around it otherwise.
There is no furniture other than a television and a tiny hanging rail that could accommodate just a few items of clothes. There is bearly enough floor space to open a big suitcase. The open toilet area has a shower with the tiniest shower curtain I have ever seen. It bearly covers the opening to the shower.
If you want to use the pool facilities then you pay an additional charge of $40 per day. We had a bill for an additional $180 for a 4 night stay, and we did not have anything extra other than use the pool . When you visit the pool, you can see that all the pool furniture is badly worn, sunbleached and torn. The pool parties seem to be attended by beautiful people and twerking seems to be a required skill to take part. There is no where to sit at these parties because they charge extra for worn out loungers and beds at the weekend. Somebody said €150 per bed, but surely that can't be right, but it might explain the 20 or so people hugging one bed.
There is also music playing constantly in the reception area. Impossible to get away from it and if you are staying over the entrance, you will hear it all night.
The inside lounges have not suffered the same amount of wear and tear and look quite attractive if you like a sea of pink, but who wants to sit indoors in Miami?
I know I am probably the wrong demographic for this hotel but I would encourage anybody wanting to visit to watch the video tour of this hotel on YouTube bearing in mind it shows the biggest bedrooms and was filmed some time ago.

We do have notoriously cozy rooms that are meant to set the tone of a drop your bags and go play experience. Our $40 Resort Fee is more than just complimentary pool party access and includes amenities such as F45 gym access, 2 hours daily on our Goodtime bikes, complimentary beach loungers, amongst other advantages. I would love the opportunity to curate a stay that would absolutely meet your expectations if you would allow. Please email me directly at jmoseley@thegoodtimehotel.com so that I may assist.

That's a question for the hotel, but I am pretty sure they don't have connecting rooms. The best bet will be to get a room next to each other. The hotel fills pretty quickly so allow at least a couple of weeks for your reservation so you can block 2 rooms next to each other. Yes, you are right it is a party-vibe hotel and great for single people. The beds are double size so they are not queen-size. If your children are 13-14 I think you will like that hotel. Your kids are not too young I think you will all like that hotel.
Hello Geri,
Our sister property is The Gabriel on Ocean Drive, which is part of Hilton's Curio Collection. When our guests don't want to attend the pool parties, they are allowed to access their pool for a more relaxing experience.
