The Doubletree Beach Resort by Hilton Hotel Tampa Bay - North Redington Beach offers a blend of experiences, with many guests commending its cleanliness, spacious rooms, and beachfront location. The hotel's atmosphere and contemporary decor are well-received, though noise can sometimes be an issue. While the amenities, including the renovated facilities, are a hit, some visitors are put off by additional charges for parking and beach chairs. Service is generally praised for being attentive; however, occasional housekeeping concerns are noted. Opinions on value vary, as some guests find the pricing reasonable, especially with the quality of food, whereas others are frustrated by hidden fees and deem the hotel overpriced.

We loved staying at this Doubletree beach resort, my sister and her husband booked one room and my self , husband & my daughter stayed in another. We stayed in a 2 Queen Gulf View room on the 4th floor and the view of the beach was beautiful!
The resort has been recently renovated and the rooms were very spacious with a comfortable chair. The beds were comfortable & the bathroom was very clean and the floor is brand new. The room also has a fridge, a microwave, a safe and a coffee maker, the shower has shampoo and conditioner, and body wash. The entire staff was happy to help us with any questions or if we needed anything. The whole staff, the hotel were . There is a bar inside & a tiki bar outside. You can rent lounge chairs with an umbrella from early morning until 5 PM. Swimming pool is beautiful and great to cool off after sitting on the hot beach. The restaurant Coconut Charlie’s had an excellent choice of entrées that were reasonably priced and the portions were great. We were there for three nights and we ate in every night. The wait staff was top notch. They even have a Starbucks in the lobby. We will definitely be visiting the Doubletree at North Redington Beach again soon. We were extremely pleased!

We have been staying here for a few years, and have always found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The new renovations are beautiful, and we were happy to find many of the same friendly faces we have come to know over the years. The towels and linens have finally been upgraded, and the large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body gel and lotion are a welcome addition. Upon our arrival, Lori checked us in with her usual friendly, welcoming and efficient manner. We were pleased to find Maria & Joy had returned to the restaurant's hostess stand, and they greeted us with pleasantries and smiles every morning. Shout out also to John, Mihn and Darla for their friendly service in the restaurant. They made us feel like old friends. And we would be remiss if we didn't mention Gary and Dang who kept our drink glasses (and buckets!) full at both the Tiki bar and inside bar locations. This hotel is in a great spot if you are looking for beach access, jet skis, cabanas and great sunsets. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but no shopping. The hotel does have an onsite restaurant, Coconut Charlie's, and the food is good and not terribly expensive. A two-mile walk south on the beach will bring you to the Madiera Beach Snack Shack. Cold drinks, food, entertainment and public restrooms can be found here. There is also a public trolley that runs up and down Gulf Blvd. For a small fee, you can ride south to St. Petersburg Beach or north to Clearwater, I think, with many stops along the way. To our disappointment, the hotel no longer provides complimentary morning coffee in the lobby. You can purchase Starbucks at the hostess stand, or pay $4 for a pot with your breakfast. There also seems to be an ongoing problem with the elevators. On any given day, one of the two elevators was out of service, causing long waits. A minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless for the amount of money we paid for our stay. Upon checking out, we were told this would be addressed during the off season, but this is not the first year we've experienced this problem. All said, this is a lovely Hilton property, with great staff. We can't wait to go back!

Ummmm WOW! We were so very impressed with this hotel. Sometimes you just don't know what to expect with beachfront hotels but Doubletree knocked it out of the park! The room was updated and extremely clean. It smelled clean from the second we opened the door. And not just a fragrance covering up some kind of weirdness, but truly clean. The housekeeping was exceptional the whole week we were there. The daily housekeeping service couldn't be beat from fresh towels, to sweeping, to replenishing toiletries, and bed making were beyond what we expected. We didn't need much interaction with the front desk but when we did, they were very pleasant and helpful. Here's a helpful tip that we didn't find out until day 2, you have to ask for the warm, delicious cookies at the front desk. At first, we thought the only option was the gluten free, vegan cookies. While that might be a draw for some, I love my full on gluten filled, nut filled, warm chocolate chip cookie! We enjoyed having our warm cookies in our pjs every night on our balcony listening to the soothing ocean sounds and people watching. The hotel room was also super quiet at night. We will definitely be going back to this Doubletree and highly recommend it to anyone. The area is not super busy with traffic and is less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater. Easy access to anything you want to do. Thank you, North Redington Doubletree, for making our week at the beach truly spectacular!

If you've stayed at many Doubletree hotels, you know that the quality & experience can vary a LOT between locations! The brand doesn't seem to have many standards or consistencies compared to other Hilton brands and personally I now avoid Doubletrees after so many poor experiences. However, since this hotel was just remodeled (they reopened the week before I stayed) I decided to give it a try and I'm extremely glad I did! This Doubletree is FANTASTIC!

I had a fantastic gulf view room on the fifth floor and at the very end of the hallway. It was quiet, updated, and all around very comfortable. Plenty of nice towels and high quality bedding & pillows along with a very large TV that allows you to use your Netflix account (LOVE this). I will definitely consider this hotel for future visits to the area.

A few minor gripes that I had are:

I wasn't offered an upgrade as a Diamond member. I did check in early so maybe nothing was available?

I wasn't offered a cookie at check in. Again, I checked in fairly early so maybe they weren't ready?

$25 a day to park is absurd. The Hilton Garden Inn in St. Pete Beach is a similar Hilton-brand resort in the area and they don't charge for parking.

The shower head in my room didn't tilt or move. It was in a fixed position, which was annoying at times.

The pool looked nasty and dirty with bubbles and a film on the surface. It was cold when I stayed there so nobody was swimming, but it looked gross.

Coconut Charlies is just okay. Breakfast is the best meal option there. Menu is similar, if not the same, as the St. Pete Beach location at the Hilton Garden Inn but the restaurant itself is much nicer with the outdoor patio.

This hotel is right on the beach and seems to have survived the hurricane season well except the patio was apparently washed away. When we arrived, we did not see the ramp to drive up to the lobby level and wound up in the garage parking lot. There were signs to the lobby up some steps but we had luggage so found the elevator up. This is relevant because when I went downstairs to put the parking permit on the car I tried to walk up the steps and was confronted at a chain link gate by a hotel employee who asked what I was doing. I said I was a guest trying to get to the lobby and she told me I couldn't go that way. I pointed to the sign and she irritatedly told me there had been a hurricane and the steps were washed away. I said they should change the sign then because it was confusing. I heard other guests complaining of same and miraculously the next day the sign was covered up. Check in took a bit because there was only 1 person, who was very nice taking his time with everyone's questions. Also, no cookies offered at check in and when I remembered after that Doubletree has the signature cookies, I stopped back and he wasn't sure if they had any more (it was 5 o'clock in the afternoon, not midnight), but went to check and eventually came back with a big box of them. Everyone beside the sign lady was very pleasant but kept referencing the hurricanes as if I was complaining about something.
Parking fees were not mentioned at check in, but I knew from reading other reviews that it was $25 per day. So I was not surprised at check out, as some of the others. It would be nice to include parking for gold members since the food credit does not get you breakfast here. As a gold Hilton honors member, I received the $15 per person daily food credit, but that is not enough to cover breakfast as all meals were $15 so add in beverage, tax and tip, you are paying another $10 per person per day for breakfast. The food was presented well, and the waitstaff very friendly. Try the marble bread toast, it was really good. Portions are substantial. The credit is good at the limited (beverages only) Starbucks right in the lobby. Due to many of the properties nearby visibly still damaged from the hurricanes, the beach is uncrowded as soon as you walk away from the hotel, and there is nothing nearby to eat, which was fine by us as we drove to restaurants right over the bridge. Lovely sunsets and lots of shells to collect on the beach which is why we were there. No complaints about the room. The fridge was set too low and did freeze our fruit and they could always use more hooks in the bathroom. But it was clean, up to date, quiet and every thing functions. I did not hear excessive noise in the hallway so either the walls are solid or the other guests were very considerate as the hotel was sold out, so no upgrades available for gold members. We stayed for 2 nights which was perfect.

During our stay here, we had a nice time. The hotel I was very nice although it seems like it was from the 90s Itq was still nice and contrary to some of the other reviews my room was extremely clean and I came back the next day and they did change the sheets and towels. Reviews regarding the soaps is correct there’s no liquid soap you have to take your own or use the Bar soap. But the brand they use I believe it’s Evelyn and Crabtree smells nice. The front Desk was very courteous to me. I was a little taken aback, I was staying at another hotel also a Hilton in Saint Pete and they were snobby and rude to me so the front desk being nice was awesome. The restaurant is very nice very attractive and the food was good. The tiki bar outside was nice. I enjoyed it and the prices are not too bad. There is a trolley stop in front of the hotel if you want to take the trolley to go shopping. Being so close to the beach was nice that I could just walk back there and come back in at my discretion. Now the only thing I did not like what is the pool. There was a trashcan by the entrance and it smelled so bad. The pool would be better if they just cleaned the area maybe paint the walls around it if you don’t like kids that splash water on you in the pool then this is not
for you. They was a lot of kids splashing everywhere. If you don’t care about the pool and just like the ocean, then it’s perfect but if you want to enjoy both the beach and the pool, like I do, then it is a little bit of a turn off.
But overall, it was a nice day I enjoyed it.

Thank you for your thorough review and feedback. We are always looking for areas we can improve upon. Although I am glad to see that you enjoyed many parts of your stay, I understand that the odor near the pool entrance is unattractive and the maintenance issue causing it is being regularly treated. We hope that you visit us again early next year once our renovations are complete. Part of the renovations will be installing the liquid soap dispensers in the showers and we are excited for that. Thank you again!

The Doubletree is an excellent hotel with an outstanding staff and location. Check in was seamless with a special shoutout to Joe who was extremely gracious. Rooms are large, well equipped and very comfortable. Beds are great. Housekeeping is very efficient. On site restaurant, Coconut Charlies, has a menu with lots of good options, is reasonably priced with large portions and overlooks the gulf. Servers John, Dan, Jen, David and the rest have been there a long time and are outstanding. We will definitely return.

The DoubleTree Tampa N. Redington beach is the worst most inefficient overpriced Hilton we have ever stayed in.
You send messages asking if we wanted to check in and use digital key.
We did but I was getting out of elevator in lobby before it arrived.
There was no body wash in bathroom only a shampoo and a conditioner plus two wafer thin bars of soap.
Not even ceramic cups for coffee but a few flimsy paper cups.
For a hotel room that cost over $500 for one night with breakfast.
By sending us a key it meant we didn’t need to go to check in desk but so both of us could use the lift you needed a key to activate the 6th floor call button which actually does not work reliably and even one of your staff said so himself.
So we didn’t get any welcoming cookies no welcome as a gold member no upgrade we were not given any breakfast vouchers that apparently we should have been given so we signed the check for breakfast. Only to find on our emailed receipt that we had been charged for breakfast.
I called back and that was removed so even though we had been to the check in desk and in theory we should never had needed to they still didn’t give us the vouchers we should of had.
If you are trying to get people to go straight to their rooms at least have the cookies and any vouchers put in the room or a note to say collect them from front desk.
We will not be returning until new managers take over and we hear things have vastly improved.

We booked a 4 night stay. Trip was to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was simply awesome. From the initial greeting with Edward ,which was warm, welcoming and sincere ( they also recognized my diamond status and thanked me for my loyalty ) . They attempted to upgrade my original reservation but were sold out on the day we checked in. They upgraded me to a higher floor . They offered suite upgrade for day 2 if we were willing to do a room change. Of course we accepted . The original room was nice but was city view. The new upgraded room was spectacular. Gulf /beach view suite . Beautiful room spacious and clean with a large double balcony overlooking the gulf with spectacular view. We had extremely pleasant interactions with everyone from guest services Antonio was awesome , Keneday was so sweet and friendly . The housekeeping person for our area was Marina and she was always smiling and welcoming us and offering towels, amenities, coffees supplies and bottles of water and helpful advice . Angela the guest services mgr was also great and she has assembled a top notch team that makes you feel welcome and special. They went above and beyond and placed a wonderful personalized card and balloons in our room congratulating us for our 26th anniversary

The property itself is beautiful and in a great location. Its clean and the beach access is superb. Its what you expect from the DoubleTree brand however its the top notch staff that sets it apart from many others. The entire staff was sincere and genuine friendly and helpful

The onsite bar was awesome with fun drinks and a great staff , the restaurant was good as well. We ate several meals there and were never disappointed

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great beach get away

I sorely was disappointed at my stay 2 weeks after the new renovations. We thought we had a great deal staying at a Hilton resort for half price through Travelzoo.com which still ended up costing $500.00 for a Tuesday- Wednesday visit. Our first room upon entry had a dark liquid drops in the sink, long hair was in the bathtub and a few stains on the floor. After contact with front desk and room inspection we were offered another room and also found dried sticky area on shelf holding tv, probably a sugary beverage, no bath mat for outside or foot gripping inside the bathtub, nor house coats as advertised, which the front desk said has not been available for 3 years, which is contrary to there website. You had to hold toilet handle down for 5 seconds to throughly flush. Only1 elevator operated during our stay, which backed up traffic for use by guests greatly. We were offered an appetizer or drink on the house by the Manager, which we found insulting as an offering of Good Will. We couldn’t even bother to even give a response to there solution. The beach location is wonderful and well manicured for guests. Pity!.
