I never right reviews considering I used to travel a lot. I took my 3.5 year old daughter to Disney, this was both of our first time. A friend of mine suggested that we stay here. Besides having an absolute awesome time in Disney itself, we loved it here we stayed in Kidani villa’s. She loved seeing the animals every day, the staff were all very nice and helpful. I had a couple of issues which were addressed right away. They were also doing safety checks, in regards to the fire alarm system, room filters, and power switches etc.. I was kind of impressed by that. The only thing I was kind of bummed about, was the lack of food choice-restaurants. I ordered groceries, and ordered pizza one night so it wasn’t big of a deal. God willing I want to be able to take her every other year and if so, we will definitely be staying here. Not to mention, the Animal Kingdom park itself is awesome!!!

As DVC members since 2012 we have attempted to visit various DVC villas and stayed a couple of nights at the Kidani Village this time around. Have to place this property at the bottom of our list. As others have indicated, the primary plus for Kidani is the view of the animals. It was enjoyable to see the animals up close in the evenings and mornings. The pool was good and the staff at the pool bar was exceptional. Unfortunately, they were the only ones on the property that we got the "Welcome Home" feeling from. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of eating opportunities at Kidani. Other than the full sit down restaurant with offerings that did not meet our tastes and very limited options at the pool bar, you have to "hike" to the Jambo House or drive it. If you like animals and don't mind the long walks to your room and the even longer walks to get something to eat, then Kidani is the place. We can say we've experienced it and may try again with the grandchildren are older, but there are other DVC properties more to our liking.

First time staying at AKL. Stayed on the Kidani side because there were only 2 of us and so I preferred having the kitchenette over a second bed. The sofa is apparently a pull out couch but we didn't try it. Billed as a deluxe resort with deluxe pricing but I would classify it more as a moderate resort with a deluxe pricetag. The positive aspects: 1. Pool is fun. The slide at Kidani is one of the best ones we have tried at a Disney resort. The water play area was also fun for kids. 2. The animals all around the resort. Even without a savannah view, the lobby area has plenty of places inside and out to view the animals. There is also another small savannah by the pool. This smaller savannah is also next to where the marshmallows are roasted in the evening. The ok aspects: 1. Transportation. Although bus service is the only way to travel via Disney to the parks, because the buses are only picking up from Kidani and Jambo, it was always possible to catch a bus when it came. That isn't always true for other Disney resorts. More on the bus later. 2. Housekeeping. We are not DVC owners, so we got housekeeping every other day. The towels were replaced and trash taken out. However the paper cups and plates were not replaced, neither was the toilet paper. Also, this may seem petty because of Covid, but the lack of full housekeeping service when Disney has taken away all social distancing seems to be more of a cost cutting measure. Just like the FP to lightning lane, Disney seems to be trying to charge for everything and giving customers much less than before in exchange for the higher costs. So while I really don't care about not having full housekeeping, I object to Disney taking it away and blaming Covid, which does not appear to be true. 3. The layout. The hotel is huge and laid out in a large semi circle. Plan on doing alot of walking. We were semi near the lobby and still had a ton of walking. Again, not something I mind, but if I had a further away room, then I would mind. This hotel could have been designed much better. The bad: 1. Lack of food options. Sanna is the only place to get food at Kidani unless you have a kitchen to cook. And if you are planning on ordering from there, make sure to get your mobile order in hours in advance or you will not be able to get dinner at a reasonable hour, or at all. Also, the food options are limited. As a vegetarian I was extremely disappointed with the lack of options. I was also disappointed that the little store in the lobby didn't have more grab and go food options since Sanna was so difficult to deal with because everyone staying at the resort seems to be eating there. 2. The odd, and uncomfortable safety check. So while we had semi housekeeping, on one morning some guy tried to let himself into the room without knocking. Luckily we had the bar pulled across the door. He claimed he was there for a safety check but he had no explanation for what that entailed. I stayed by the door with the door open and that threw him off. He kept telling me to go in the room with him and close the door. Uh, hell no. Total stranger who used his Disney status to try to force open my door without knocking and then wants me to be alone with him. Very uncomfortable. He left right after but this was inappropriate. I have never experienced this at any other Disney resort. 3. The bus issue. As I said above, when the bus comes, no issues getting on. However on one evening, the bus to magic kingdom was over an hour late per the sign. Every bus that came by said they were just dropping off and it wasn't their issue. This was a one time issue and could happen at any Disney resort. Over an hour later, I gave up and got an Uber. In short, I am glad I stayed here to experience it. But the bad outweighs the good when taking cost into account so we won't be back here. Honestly, with the way Disney is going, I'm not sure there is any benefits of staying on property at all anymore.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at Kidani Village from Aug 14-18. We arrived around 6 pm. Check in was quick. This resort is designed like a half circle with the lobby in the middle of two long curved hallways. The animals are in the middle of the half circle. If your room is a Savannah view you face the inside of the circle, if you have a standard view it faces the outside of the half circle. We had a standard view room on the 5th floor (7531). It was a long walk to the lobby and the pool; however, the bus stop was on our side of the building. The room is on the small side. We used the pull out couch and it took up a lot of the room, plus you have to find a place to put the coffee table and cushions to the couch. There is a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, full size regular coffee maker and toaster. There is coffee, creamer, sugar, paper towels, paper cups, plates and bowls, and plastic silverware. The doors in the bathroom are annoying. The shower is the bathroom door and the toilet room door blocks the towel rack. I felt like it could use some more hooks or towel racks to hang wet towels or swim suits. It was a awkward lay out. We had a view of the parking lot but that was not a big deal since we booked a standard room. The pool was awesome. There is a large splash pad with plenty of shade for small children to play. The pool has a beach entrance. There is a large slide and a small slide. My daughter loved going down the large slide. The cast members had games in the pool area for the kids. We enjoyed our pool time. The buses were not reliable at this hotel. It took 30 minutes or more to get a bus every single time we went to the park. We stayed at Old Key West in March and we had a bus in 10 minutes regardless of which park we were visiting. It is a 20+ minutes bus ride to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs. We spent a lot of time waiting for transportation and on the transportation. The animals were incredible. We went to the lobby to see them and there was a wide variety of animals to see. There are chairs outside to sit and watch them. It was very nice. It was a fun and unique resort and I’m glad we experienced it but this is not a hotel that I will stay at again and again. The animals were awesome and it was a very relaxing resort. However, I think we prefer resorts that are more centrally located in WDW. Three of the 4 parks are just so far from this hotel that it takes a long time to get back and forth because of the insanely slow bus service and the distance. It is a great resort to visit one time for the experience.

Thank you for taking a moment to review your recent visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Though this Resort wasn't your dream locale, I was glad to read that your family did enjoy your time and were able to make memories that will last a lifetime. I do agree with you that the best features of this Resort are the fun recreation areas and the wonderous exotic animals. It's great to know that you fully took advantage of these great features and that our Cast Members were able to add just a little extra fun to your time at Samawati Springs Pool and the Uwanja Camp. I'm sorry to read that your room wasn't a great fit for your family and it didn't offer the functionality that you needed. Also, this Resort is tucked away from all other Disney destinations offering our Guests an escape and a feeling of being on their very own African safari adventure. This does mean that it does take longer to get around the Walt Disney World Resort. I sincerely apologize if this had an impact on your visit and I will be sharing your feedback with the appropriate areas. Thanks again and we look forward to hearing all about your next adventure with us. Betty Disney Social Reviews

Yes, the cost of Kidani is high compared to other Disney proprieties. But with the extra cost you do get access to all the animals either from a balcony room or the lobby viewing areas. As the dad, I'm the early riser. In the morning I would get ready before the others, then simply sit out on the balcony each morning with a nice cup of coffee. Very relaxing to spend this early morning time viewing the animals while the rest of the family got ready. And if the price is a concern, you do not need to stay at this hotel to enjoy the animals. Drive over or ride the bus and watch the animals for free. Take some extra time and have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. As for the room, we had all the provisions needed to cook meals during our stay. And the plus for Kidani 1 bedroom is having 2 bathrooms whereas the Jambo House 1 bedroom has only 1 bathroom. For a family of four, having two bathrooms was fantastic! Both Jambo and Kidani are nice properties. No need to fret if you’re not able to obtain your desired lodge. There is a daily shuttle bus that runs back and forth between the two properties.

Dumela! What an absolutely glowing review with wonderful pictures to match. I'm delighted you were able to explore the Resort in the early morning and enjoyed visiting with the animals that call Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village home. You certainly can't beat having a magical view of the savanna right outside your balcony. You are absolutely right, even if you aren't staying at the Resort, having a dining reservation at any of the Resort's wonderful restaurants will give you a chance to enjoy viewing the animals, not to mention exploring both of our beautiful Resorts. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent family vacation. We can't wait to see where your next wild adventure takes you. Asante sana! Zoey Disney Social Reviews
