Hotel's Favourite
This is one of my favorite places to stay on property at Disney. The savanna rooms are awesome as I love to drink my morning coffee and watch the giraffe and zebra from the balcony or through the large sliding glass windows.
The check in and out process never seems to be backed up. If you have a car with you, it is one of the easiest places to find a parking space near your room as parking is in a garage under the rooms.
However, you do need to keep in mind that the trip to all theme parks except the Animal Kingdom takes a little longer due to its location, whether you are driving or taking the Disney shuttle. The longest ride is to Magic Kingdom.

Everyone has covered the fact that indeed, this hotel is off the beaten path and yes, because it's so big the odds of having a 3 to 5 minute walk to your room are pretty high. We were wayyy down the hallway on the 4th floor in room 7866 and if you don't have anyone in your party with mobility issues the walk is really a non-issue. The rooms are so well themed and the Savannah view is so worth the extra money that staying here really is a must do for any Disney fan. Being pool side feels like you're in an exotic locale, surrounded by palm trees and gardens and the stress from a long day at the parks literally oozes out of you. Having spent half our stay at Bay Lake Towers on this trip I can sincerely say the Kidani Village pool is a) better than the Jambo pool (my children tried both and agreed) and b) miles ahead of the Bay Lake pool. We've stayed previously at Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge, and I would rank the Kidani pool as being our second favorite (because no one can touch Beach Club on that front). The staff here were exceptional, especially Mary at the front desk who provided us with so much Disney magic. The buses were convenient and we almost always had a seat. Walking in the lobby after a long day made me smile every single time. This really is like coming home for us and I would recommend this property to anyone who isn't deterred by the potential walk.

We stayed in a deluxe studio. We couldn't quite stretch to a Savannah view but we were not disappointed with our stay at all. All we had to do was walk out into the corridor to see the animals through the windows, or head downstairs to the lobby to go outside and view from there. We loved the theming of the hotel and the beautiful lobby.
We ate breakfast at Boma over at AKL which was great. The shuttle between the two buildings is quick and runs constantly back and forth so it's very easy to use.
The pool and spa were great and we appreciated the changing facilities nearby due to the colder weather and not wanting to walk around in wet stuff.
My only complaint is that the cast member who checked us in was not the most friendly and she also gave us incorrect directions to our room. But we figured it out and we didn't let it spoil our stay.
Overall we had a great time.

I don’t understand how this hotel warrants a de-luxe status as having stayed at the Grand Floridian ( also classed as a de- luxe) there is no comparison whatsoever.
The rooms at Kidani Village are designed for vacation guests and for two people they are fully equipped, clean with an extremely comfortable bed. The rooms however are dark, dated and tired offering no Disney ambiance throughout . The receptionist who booked us in blatantly lied about the distance to our room, a long walk down corridors reminiscent of the Shining! There is no personal touch at the KVL and any requests to house keeping were refused ( room location and extended check out).
The transport was very good from both park and hotels but you can only use bus transport from this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel nor would we return.

We stayed at Kidani Village as we wanted to stay on Disney property and we had family group of 7. We wanted the larger villa. It was ok…but below the standard I would expect at a Disney property and for the price. The unit is dated and clearly older Could use remodeling in the rooms. Our dryer did not work. Sometimes we had hot water, sometimes it was lukewarm. On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable The balcony was very nice and we were able to see animals roaming around very cool . We were disappointed in the restaurant options at this location. Rainy night and we wanted to eat in. The main restaurant has limited offerings for kids, and it is basically all unique African food. If you don’t like curry, you were out of luck. Restaurant and food were not kid friendly at all. No room service . Very nice pool with good kids area for younger ones. Rooms and all areas were very clean
The resort is “on property” but took 15-25 minutes on a shuttle bus to get to any of the parks from this resort. Might as well have stayed off property at a better price
Overall just ok experience I would not stay here again

Terrible experience at this resort and the cast members were not helpful at all. We’ve been to several Disney resorts and this was the worse experience. We were told false information about the room accommodations and when we arrived, they refused to rectify the situation. Instead they pointed the finger to everyone else. We called and sent several emails. The first response also included false information and then we didn’t hear anything back for over a week after we checked out which included additional false information. The room was not what we wanted and the experience was terrible. And other than a few birds and deer, we didn’t even see any animals even though we were told we had the best view—-another lie. I don’t recommend this resort.

This is not a luxury hotel! This hotel used to be amazing but the suites are showing their age with chipped paint, holes in the walls and room cleaning is once every 3 days. Service is not existent by the pool, you have to go the little tent Maja where the servers are miserably bad. They gladly spend 15 minutes chatting up customers rather than taking orders, food items are pre made and not comparable to nearby properties owned by Hilton, Waldorf , 4 seasons, Marriot etc. the offerings are more like a travel lodge or holiday inn. The sit dow. Restaurants offer very good food, but outside of this I would never stay here again.
The prices Disney charges for these hotels between 700-1000 a night for 1 bedroom suites or more during peak seasons, and what they deliver in return is laughable for anyone who has ever traveled to a true 5 star resort anywhere else in the world. Do yourself a favor, book a room at the Waldorf or Jw Marriot, you will enjoy better service, more hospitality, nicer rooms, all for typically less money and you can simply Uber it take their own shuttle to the parks when you are out here with the kids.

This place was such a horrible experience, I probably won't come back to Disney. On three occasions they messed up our passes and it caused issues with our party trying to get into the parks. It felt like pulling teeth trying to get someone to come clean the room and get the trash, and to top that, one of their bus drivers slammed the bus door shut on my spouses leg, and didn't even have the courtesy to ask if he was okay let alone even apologize. When the front desk staff were told about this, they threw their hands up and did absolutely nothing. So, I guess it is okay for their employees to harm/injure their guests?
The room was freezing the entire time, and you can't even adjust it. Never again. I have never been so disappointed and strongly suggest not staying here. This was a family vacation/birthday trip and there was nothing magical about it. More like a complete nightmare.

The Kidani lodge is awesome! Our room overlooked the savanna, and we were able to sit on our balcony and watch the animals wandering around. The staff were all very friendly, and the lodge is set up to ensure everyone's safety, such as wearing face masks and hand sanitizer around every corner. We stayed in a one bedroom savanna view room, which was a little pricey, but worth it! There were two negatives. When we first arrived, our magic bands would not open our hotel room door, so we had to walk a long, long way back to the lobby desk to have them reprogramed. Also, the restaurant located onsite was booked solid each night we were there, so we had to take a bus to Disney Springs to get dinner. On the positive, the Disney bus transportation service is excellent! We're definitely looking forward to a return trip to the Disney Animal Kingdom Kidani Lodge!

Response from Disney Social Reviews, Owner at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village
Responded Oct 31, 2020
There is nothing quite like an entire animal kingdom right outside your doorstep while you are on holiday! I am so glad your visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village left you with a sense of wonder and enjoyment. I am sorry that upon checking in there were complication with MagicBands. Our Resort layout is sprawling to create so many Savanna Views, but it can be a long way, especially if you have to walk it back to back. I am pleased that it seems once sorted this did not slow down the fun. Disney transportation is one of those things I just cannot rave about enough. When I am on vacation I love to know I can park my car and not have to worry about it until I check out. It's wonderful this was a convenience throughout your trip. On behalf of our Cast Members, both human and members of the animal family, we look forward to another wild time with you and your family real soon. Alexa Disney Social Reviews

We loved the theming of this resort. The lobbies and public areas were great. We stayed in two rooms. Our first room was savannah view and we loved seeing animals, but there was as fencing everywhere and they seemed to be limited to small areas. Also, our room was located at the end of the longest hallway I’ve ever seen. I don’t mind walking, but wow. It was at least 1000 steps and with luggage or at the end of a park day, it took forever. With rooms this far, they should offer to help guests w luggage or ride on their many golf carts. No offers.
With this info, I requested a room closer to the lobby for our second room. This room was next to the lobby, looking out on the valet parking. It was awful. At all hours, there were delivery vehicles outside of our room, shuttles, everything. Even with white white noise and ear plugs, it kept us awake.
The staff kept referring us to use the app, rather than interact with them. When I asked a question at the front desk related to transportation, staff started contradicting each other and it got very awkward.
We also had problems w housekeeping. On our final day, they loudly banged on our door at 8:30 am, yelling housekeeping! Waking up my exhausted kids. We could hear them doing the same for other rooms. Check out was 11am and we had alarms set. There is no reason for them to do this. They returned at 10:30, checking to see if we were still there. It was awkward and a terrible way to end our stay there. It made us feel like we were kicked out and it was disrespectful. We will choose another place to stay on our next trip.

Yes. They will hold your groceries at bell services. They will refrigerate the cold items. I got charged $6 for this service.
From animal kingdom and all the Disney resorts a bus stop is available and complimentary to all the Disney theme parks, Disney water parks and Disney springs and back. They run constantly and take you close to all the entrances. Best way to get around in Disney world
