The Grove Resort & Water Park Orlando offers a family-friendly atmosphere and is well-liked for its proximity to theme parks, despite some traffic concerns. However, guests have called out numerous issues, from inconsistent service and unclean rooms to maintenance problems.
While the water park and pools are popular, reviewers warn about the limited in-room amenities, extra charges, and a perceived lack of value due to high costs with additional fees. The mixed reviews highlight a gap between the resort's potential and guests' experiences.

We stayed at the Grove for just under two weeks as a family of 5. The apartment accommodation was perfect for us, very comfortable beds and lots of space for us. The room was situated very far away from reception and pools so we had a lot of walking everyday and there are not enough elevators to accommodate guests. The washing machine and tumble dryer were very handy, bring some extra detergent and less clothes in your luggage! The room was not cleaned enough, as others have said- once in two weeks. We were given one change of towels and one new set of sheets but had to do the changing of sheets ourselves! They emptied the kitchen bin everyday. The pools were lovely, warm and on only one of our visits there did we struggle to get sun beds. The staff need to do better about making sure people don’t reserve their sun beds and leave for hours though. At the water park however, unless you join the line at 10am to enter, you won’t get a sun umbrella, you may get sun beds alright, but it’s clear the resort want you to pay extra for the cabanas and ‘priority’ sun beds. In general the cost of purchasing in the resort is extortionate- $17 for a glass of wine, $10 for a beer and $5 for a soft drink. The food in Valencia restaurant is average and very expensive, all items in the shop are 4 times more expensive than you’d expect. $3 for a small bottle of water. If you don’t have a car, there is a 7am free shuttle to the parks but make sure you book it the day before to make sure you get seats. There are no restaurants in walking distance and so getting an Uber/Lyft to local restaurants ($15/20) is what we did and got Uber eats a few times too. I’d suggest you get groceries delivered or do a trip to a local grocery store for supplies. Overall we had an enjoyable holiday but be prepared about the extra costs you will encounter.

My family had a blast making memories here! From the 3/2 apartment style room, to the virtual assistant, water park, gym, pools; only thing we were missing was more time to enjoy. Staff was wonderful and super accommodating. Surf trainer, Elijah, was phenomenal with teacher our 8 year old daughter to surf at the Surfari water park. Our 5 year old son loved the lazy river and kid water section. Us adults enjoyed just getting to relax and not have to stress a thing.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The rooms are absolutely enormous, and have several rooms off them. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; each of which has a separate cloakroom and toilet. There was also a kitchen and pantry. If you can navigate it, you can park on the same floor as the hotel room and in theory not have to walk very far. Parking is included. It was easy to get in and out of the hotel, which has a driveway the length of a small airport. The springs swimming area is great, and good that it is open late and doesn't close early like many hotels. It's lovely to sit in the springs and watch the Florida sky turn pink and go dark. Concierge were great at providing info and booking tickets and car hire for us.
What we didn't like:
The dishwasher was broken and in-error, we couldn't get it to work. Could not get a porter to take all of the suitcases down on the day of checkout. Trying to stash the baggage on the last day was a big fiasco and the guy outside was difficult to deal with. Long queues for reception. The mini-market has lots of very unhealthy options and few healthy ones. It's also very expensive. The dining in option isn't great, and the staff make a point of saying they earn $9/hr and clearly aren't all that happy to be there. Navigating the building is challenging. In some places the signage is good, but still not obvious which way you should set out. The corridors all smell like a stale biscuit tin and the doors and handles are sticky. Nothing seems to be cleaned. We stayed 14 days and they only changed the towels once. The shower has absolutely nowhere to put your products as there is no ledge. There is no shaver socket. Impossible to draw the curtains as they are designed to be for decoration only and are only about 40cm wide! The biggest disappointment probably is that the Spa is permanently closed and does not exist. Location-wise it's not bad, but always 30-45 minutes drive from all of the attractions which you would want to do.

We had a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in building number 1 (3rd floor) The room was dirty, full of dust and not cleaned properly. The kitchen was very tired with limited utensils which was also worn and dirty. In fact the utensils was that poor we couldn't even do any self catering. On arrival the Air Con did not work, had to stay up until 02:00am after a transatlantic flight waiting for someone to try to sort this out, eventually i fell asleep. We paid a $250 resort fee which is still don't know what we got for this, they even cut the WIFI off after 5 days. We tried a Pizza from the deli it was the worst pizza i have ever had, it looked like there was no care when prepping it, it was disgusting. We had breakfast i the main restaurant, way overpriced, costing over $200 for 5 people. There was no room cleaning for a 7 night stay, the rooms cleaned once if you stay 8 or more nights, if you want your room cleaned they charge you. We did complain to the main reception but didn't get much sympathy or understanding, was told to speak to house keeping, to be fair, housekeeping did help out and send more utensils and a kettle but nothing else. There is no pool towels at the pool, these are in your room not refreshed and if you loose one they will charge you. We was there for my 50th birthday and to be honest although the grounds are nice and a nice pool area, the rest of the hotel is overrated, overpriced and a little isolated from anything, at most 3.5 star. I've been numerous times to Orlando and the USA and as far as I'm concerned there are better hotels than this to spend your money on.

“Greetings from cheapskate headquarters” all their instructional notes should say- expect to spend too much on basic things that should be in a room. Awful time waster sorting it out.
The kitchenette appealed to us for a family group but this place is ridiculous. Yes dishwasher, but one portion of dishwasher soap so if you are staying longer than one night, you need to buy it in the store at a ridiculous price. Yes, there is a sink to wash dishes but no rag to wash or wipe tables etc (this must have accounted to coffee cup rings along window ledge), no broom or anyting to brush crumbs into, no hand soap (well, you can go into the bathroom shower to get body wash), no garbage bags, no drying towel for dishes.. Condos typically have dish towels, rags, salt and pepper, sclean rooms but this hotel misses with even the basics. They really don’t care. Airbnbs and lower priced condos always have basics like dish rags, salt and pepper, toilet paper, garbage bags, and many budget hotels have coffee makers and pods- nope not here and their rates are at least twice what budget hotels cost here. When we opened the fold out couch, there were cookie crumbs and other food bits in it. Disgusting restaurant food at ridiculous high prices. Don’t stay here- your time is wasted as you sort out inadequacies just to have a functional room. You’ll get nickeled and dimed to death. service is like condos so very basic- staff are not rude but just not caring. WHen we arrived we were told the shuttles were not running at 6:30pm- they need charging. With young kids after long flights from the West Coast, to walk with bags for ten minutes seemed hard- just a sign they don't care about guests. Paying for parking is their default- they don’t ask if you have a car, they just charge you. Expect endless extra costs to buy things and pay for taxis because their theme part shuttles run so infrequently even in prime season. Spoiled our trip and cost more than many lovely hotels in the area.

The grounds were beautiful, the waterpark was lovely, and the pools were great. We had 8 guests in our room (4 kids, 4 adults). However, our experience in the guest room was terrible. We had no bath towels, hand soap, kitchen utensils were extremely limited, no coffee in the room (I was told when I called to inquire about items in the guest room that it was fully stocked, including coffee pods in the room.) This room was nowhere near fully stocked. It had three dinner plates, three soup bowls, four glasses and very sizes. There were only 3 forks, 2 teaspoons, 2 tablespoons, a potato smasher, and two knives Baseboards were broken, blinds were broken, towel rack was broken, as well as the security lock on the door. The bottom drawer of a dresser was broken, which was super dangerous if you got up in the evening to go to the bathroom. We had to tape it shut, and you could see where other guests had done the same. We requested guest room services starting at 5 PM and received incorrect items (shampoo instead of hand soap), 2 towels instead of 8. After calling and texting several times and not receiving the items requested, I went to the front desk. They told me it would take 90 minutes to get towels. We finally did receive towels at midnight. The AC was frozen in our room; however, the technicians were quick to arrive and fixed it. I did not request to have any money refunded, however, when I did speak to the manager about all the issues, she did offer to refund the resort fees and parking fee, which I did appreciate.

This was my first and last visit. The grounds are very well maintained. I can't say the say for the room. The rooms are filthy. Bring your own toiletry. They do not supply kitchen towels nor do they supply hand washing soap. We found toe nail clippings on the floor. The bedrooms clearly were not vacuumed. If you walk around the room barefoot, clean ylur feet in the tub and see all the dirt and grim you collected. The main dining restaurant, Valencia, only served a breakfast buffet at $28 pp. It's extortion. What I paid for was a basic continental breakfast with an omelet station. They do have other options but it must be to go. In hindsight we should have ordered to go. Everything is an up charge. If you want "premium" seating at the water park, it's $40. The flow rider is also an up charge of $35. Any activities on the ground at cost. This is not included in the daily resort fee. Honestly had a better experience at the Hilton Dunes. Very disappointed.

I was so disappointed as the hotel looked great online, had great reviews, my husband and I were traveling from California for a winter parks trip and really looking forward to our stay…
The Room- Boring room, cheaply made with no where to put anything except a gray floor. In our initial room, the sink was falling out of the wall, if you put weight on it the sink would tear off and break, so we asked for a different room because we didn’t want to be held responsible for that.
The door to our room was a scary hazard as it did not slow down to close but rather slammed shut. It almost knocked me out the first time!
They provide a Kurig coffee machine but no actually coffee, you have to buy the pods in the lobby cafe haha.
The Services- They don’t clean your room at all (apparently you have to pay extra for that service). We were given an embarrassingly poorly printed paper with what they do provide which said they clean out your garbage very 3 days and restock toiletries if you’re staying more than 3 nights. That never happened, they never cleaned our garbage or restocked anything. When I asked the lobby about this they said that was for guests staying at the The Grove Resort not the Terraces, WE have to put out our own garbage bins outside the room every 3 days. I asked why they didn’t tell us that and why they gave us a paper with instructions that didn’t apply to us…they shrugged and didn’t have an answer, said they may have given us the wrong piece of paper. 😑
Also this was annoying to me not sure about other people, but the phones in the 2 rooms did not call the front desk, they just played a recording and hung up. So any time I wanted to talk to someone at the front desk (which was often unfortunately) I had to go downstairs to the lobby. I told them about the phones not calling them and they didn’t seem to take it seriously only saying that, “Oh well they should work, must be a problem with just that one phone.” Whatever thanks for not helping with anything.
Oh and one last thing, they tax your hotel fee for some reason on top of the already applied tax to your room stay and they automatically apply a parking fee without asking if you parked, so if you don’t have a car make sure to check that.

Traveled with 2 kids (7 and 5). The water park was what made us chose to come after researching online. We had a 2 bedroom unit which was great for kids to have their own bed/bath. The room was very clean and very satisfied with quality. We didn’t plan on cooking during 3 nights we were there…we did all meals throughout the resort first 2 days but got tired of same places and ate outside resort last night/morning. Never quite understood where everyone else was eating as we saw lots of people at waterpark and around resort but restaurants were always pretty empty. I was impressed by quality but was tired of same food after 2 days.
At the waterpark, the kids had a great time in lazy river which never really got too crowded. We did get a preferred seating on second day for $60 which was well worth it to have a good spot and server. The pool water was pretty warm that eventually it just got too hot. The coldest water was at kids pool.
At check-in we did have to wait 20-30 min in line which was annoying after issues traveling. When checking in there was a lady screaming and making a scene in lobby about not having A/C in her unit for 2 days. (Ours worked fine) but not everyone had same experience clearly. We arrived on day of Widespread IT outage and not sure if that affected things or not but check-in kiosks were present but not working and also app wasn’t working either while time we were there…there was never any notice about either of those not functioning you just figured it out on your own which also was annoying.
Overall the stay was great and and we got what we wanted out of it.
Only things I didn’t like were app not working, check-in process taking too long, variety of menu items buffet or dinner menus same each time we went

This is a large ''Center Parcs'' style complex in Belgium and France, i.e. two or three bedroom apartments. If you do not want to eat all meals in the hotel (expensive), a car is obligatory, the complex being 5 km from the first restaurants and shops (Wallmart,...).
For us, we opted for a two-bedroom. The accommodation is large, has two bathrooms and toilets, washing machine and dryer, fridge, large microwave, cooking hobs, in short the essentials.
However, cooking equipment could be better supplied with just a single frying pan for example. Negative point, there is no high chair for children, even on request.
The hotel complex is large and well equipped (restaurants, small gym, several swimming pools, games room with mini-golf, etc.) but the big downside is the cleanliness, particularly in the rooms and swimming pools!
Our two children had completely black feet, which makes us think that the accommodation had not been cleaned on the floor between our arrival and the departure of the previous ones, too bad, the score could have been perfect...
We went to the reception, photos to support and the floor was cleaned but only in the living room.
In conclusion: if you want a place not far from the parks (free shuttles), not too expensive and with beautiful swimming pools, go there.

No, it's not. And they have a confusing way of charging you for it: by the amount of time, sometimes by the amount of people you want to share that time. Sometimes you're sharing with other people. Sometimes your time is cut short, cause someone else has booked a better deal (for them).
