If you book this hotel with the thought of it being a traditional resort, you will be disappointed. I needed a place to sleep, a good variety of food options, and wanted to rely sole on Disney buses. I got what I expected. The rooms are about 50% larger than a cruise ship room and about as functional.

Is this the best, most luxurious, feature rich Disney resort out there? Absolutely not... but why the 5-star review then? Because it offers unbeatable value and theming, with a small, but quality and recently renovated room. It is also central enough that most of the theme parks are easily and quickly accessible via Disney transportation. The common (exterior) grounds is probably one of the best feature of the hotel and in my mind up there with Art of Animation as the best value resort options at WDW. The theming is spot on and the attention to details is impressive. All 5 Disney value resorts are actually a great lesson in Imagineering with outside characters, making you feel like a kid again...The one thing the differentiate this value resort vs the other ones is its focus on iconic characters and movies such as Fantasia, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, Mighty Ducks and the Love Bug - something that emotionally is only matched by Art of Animation. All-Star Music, Sports and Pop Century use the same Imagineering techniques to impress - but I find slightly harder to connect with. Another thing I like about the value resorts, and especially All-Star Movie is the pool area. Simple - but once again with effective and visible theming and what appears to pretty good size pools. Food wise, the on-site offering is relatively basic with the relatively standard food court concept focused on classics: pancakes, waffles, bacon/meat for breakfast, and burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, pasta and other quick food offerings for lunch and dinner. Nothing fancy, or character breakfast/dinner style - but quick, effective and decent value (by Disney standards) The rooms are not big, but space is used efficiently. As stated before, the rooms were recently renovated (withing the last 5 years). The theming is basic and simple but everything looked and felt modern, and in good operating order. Temperature control was adequate. Wifi worked fine. Bed was comfortable... but maybe a tad on the hard side. Decent storage space (drawers...). Bathroom/washroom area highly functional, yet again streamlined and simple. Shower features standard Disney Resorts (formerly H20) amenities. Note that at value resorts, housekeeping is only offered every other day of your stay, but one can connect with guest services to have additional amenities (eg: towels) brought to the room. Technology wise, the rooms feature the Amazon Alexa based Hey Disney console which worked pretty much as expected when it comes to setting up daily alarms, timers and the likes. During my stay, Disney transportation to/from the parks and the Disney Springs area was efficient and on time - with no issues or concerns whatsoever. I saw the lines for Magic Kingdom that were longer for the other parks and Disney did their best to bring in extra or longer buses to manage this specific line. Last but not least, a review of a stay at a Disney resort would not be complete without speaking about the Cast Members. During my stay, I had an opportunity to interact with several cast members (Food court, "Bar" by the pool, pool, front desk). All were smiling and always helpful, with a few engaging in longer, meaningful conversations. All in, a stay at Disney's All Star Movies is about incredible value, with impressive exterior theming that is sure to make you feel like a kid again. It is not fancy, but the fact that rooms were recently renovated a big plus. I would very highly recommend a stay at this resort.

Everything was great and enjoyable, we’ve been to Disney many times but this was my two daughters first time (3 and 1 years). They absolutely loved it. The ease of using the refill facilities is great and is a must do, value for money! Bus service easy to use. Pool was good and it was nice to be able to use the facilities across the three all star resorts. See you in 2026!

We just recently stayed and honestly would have gave it 4 stars if not for the fact they put us in the middle of a lot of sports groups, tour groups, etc (same building). With their reservation capabilities they could have sectioned off an area for them. They're just kids having fun. However, not so fun around midnight hearing people running around outside and periodically knocking on random doors. Rooms very clean, bus service was exceptional and the food court was adequate. Very cute theming. Disney definitely knows what they're doing. We have stayed from value to deluxe and like things about all of them. However, the buses are usually much better at value resorts and I like the fact they have a line queue. Cast Members working here were very friendly. We really enjoyed ourselves!

I stayed here for 3 nights in Dec. 2023. All in all I enjoyed my stay. Staff: Great! Very friendly and helpful. I arrived early in the morning and the front desk agent checked to see if a room is available already and she was able to get me into the room right away. Rooms: Spacious and clean. Nothing fancy but certainly a solid room given that this resort is a Disney Value Property. Absolutely no complaints from my side. My room had a Queen bed and a Queen-sized table bed. They also have rooms with a King bed. Note that the rooms are motel style. So there are no indoor corridors and the room door goes directly to the outside area of the resort. Grounds: The property is pretty nice. Everything seems well maintained. I'm sure kids would enjoy the larger than life decor from movies such as 101 Dalmations. There are two pools - The Duck Pond and Fantasia Pool. Can't speak too much about the pools since it was too cold while I was visiting and I did not see any jacuzzis. The lobby is quite nice and you can watch Disney movies on a TV across from the front desk. There's also a little arcade area and a Disney store. Food: I never had lunch or dinner here since I ate in the parks and Disney Springs. I do like grabbing a breakfast before heading out and they have a food court onsite. However, I was not impressed with the options. Very limited and the food tasted mediocre at best. The coffee was also terrible. There is a place where you can get a latte though and that was good. It would be nice if they stepped up their breakfast offerings with more of a variety and also healthy options to choose from. The food is unhealthy and tastes bad imo. This is my only complaint about this resort. Note that breakfast is not included in the room fee. Location/Transportation: The All-Star Movies Resort - along with all the other All-Star Resorts - is located at the southern end of the WDW Resort. There is plenty of parking and it's free. Transportation to the parks is offered for free via Disney's bus transportation system. You'll get picked up to the left of the lobby and just look for the line with your destination. Waiting times were always short while I was there as the buses run frequently. I think it took only about a 10 minute drive to get to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, EPCOT around 15 minutes and Magic Kingdom around 20 minutes I believe. Overall: I spent every day in the parks. So I didn't spend too much time at the hotel, but really enjoyed my stay. If you plan on spending more time at the hotel, you might want to opt for a Disney moderate or deluxe resort to enjoy nicer pool areas and more food options. The food was really the only big downside for me here.

This is a great resort to stay in if you are on a budget and not planning on spending a lot of time in your room or resort. Me and my husband have stayed here four times in the last couple years. I would not pay more than $175 a night to stay here - but considering how often we go to Disney the price is hard to pass up. Cheesy theming but who doesn’t love that! (Your kids will!) Pros - - price - big main pool with another smaller hockey themed pool - not a terribly big resort so easy to get around, even the farthest buildings are a short walk to the main building - clean rooms that have been recently (in the past couple years) renovated (they’re run down though but still clean) - buses that leave the resort often to get to the parks Cons - - cafeteria food - rooms are tiny - thin walls (you can hear everything - bring a white noise machine)

We are a “rope drop to close” family, and because we were flying to Disney this time, I decided to try out staying on property. This was my 3rd time this year coming to the parks: we always drive and stay off property so we have more space. That being said, my expectations were low. I was looking for a clean place to sleep and easy transportation to and from the parks. I was pleasantly surprised with All-Star Movies! Our room was extremely clean. Little to no disruptive noise near our room (this was a week before Christmas: the place was full!). The sink area had lots of space to get ready and store items. The beds were extremely comfortable. We did not use the pools but noticed how attentive their lifeguards are when people are in the pools. We utilized the food court a few times and the food wasnt magical but it did the trick: lots of options to keep everyone happy. The transportation to the park was extremely easy and reliable!! The only con I would say is the room itself is very small. If I was planning alot of time in the room, we wouldve felt that much more. Our family of four felt the restriction of the room. I would never attempt more than 4 in a regular room. The kids loved the obnoxiously decorated campus. I bet we will be back again!!

Room Tip: Dont be afraid of where your room is. Nothing is crazy far, even after a day in the parks.

Christmas Hols Review: All star movies is a good value resort to stay at. Being value means it is a little distance away from Magic Kingdom but its fine. There are 3 all star resorts here ( sports, music and movies) ( Thats the order in distance in closeness from entry). Checkin was fine no issues. Room: we were in mighty ducks block furthest away from reception , again no biggie and later we found it was actually closer to the all star music hub ( food court, reception , buses etc). Thou small it was fine ( me, wife and 2 kids) one main bed and same sized pull down bed. As you spend most of time out at parks etc its fine as a base. food court is large but does get busy at set times . same limited choices at meal times which can get a bit tiring. We were here 10 nights - thats a lot of mickey waffles. Nice gift shop. Small arcade on site too A few activities arranged some at a cost. We wanted a late check out ( normal time 11am ) as our flight wasnt until 21.50pm so that was fine and no issue to arrange just a quick chat with front desk. Transportation was fine with the free buses but gets very busy at certain times morning and closing time at parks. It always seemed movies was the busiest one compared to the other 2 all stars resorts so consider taking music bus and walk over if its too busy. No free buses to universal so 2 options are take a free busy closer then uber/lyft or one from hotel directly . from hotel its about 30 mins and about $25. Nearby ish ( 10 mins drive, $12 uber) is a Walmart so you can get supplies ( snacks, fruit ,water etc) for much cheaper. e.g bottle of water at disney is $3- $5 but can get a 40 pack at walmart for $6. Also near there lot of restaurants. I suspect it was busier overall being xmas but happy to come back in future but probably try a better resort in future.

We love the all star resorts, and I would always be willing to stay at one. We travel with our school age child, so we look for clean, convenience, and family friendly. We stayed in a preferred room, however this stay we were in a room at the far back of preferred section and did not feel it was worth paying extra for. I did request a better room location ahead of time and it was not honored. We had a lousy view and a long walk from everything, even furthest room from elevators on third floor lol. However, we laughed it off, as we've been lucky enough to score some pretty great rooms on other trips. If this was a once in a lifetime trip I would have been disappointed. So something to think about if that's the case for you- we probably could have gone to front desk right away and asked for different room placement if it mattered more to us. It was the only downer of our stay. Pool, pool bar, gift shop, arcade, food court, and playground was all great and just as we expected. Busses worked out well for us. Only drawback I find to value resorts is that the bus waiting does not offer shade or cover, but not a deal breaker. We do not like the skyliner, and we don't mind bussing. We use uber at times when we know busses will be really busy, but that isn't much.

Just alright for the one night we stayed here. We were in a timeshare for a week but needed one more night in a hotel before our flight home. It is nicely designed but very very small. There were 2 adults and one teenager and more than one night would have been rough. If you are traveling with little ones who need a strollers I have no idea where it would go. As with all of Disney the service was top notch and the room was super clean and well appointed given the small space
