Nothing tropical here! Disney makes you feel as if you're in the Pacific Northwest and its true! I've never been there but I felt as if I was. Right on Bay Lake, with boat and bus access. Magic Kingdom a boatride away too! Relax and...More
This resort is spectacular. Traveling with children? Reserve a room with a Queen Bed and a set of bunk beds. The kids love that they have a bit of privacy and can have some quiet time even though you are all in the same room....More
If you have kids, or are a big kid this is the place. Ask to do the Mickey Ears treasure hunt, its one of their "secret" activities- GREAT fun! Get the boat to Magic Kingdom and travel around the parks using monorail atc. for a change....More
This resort was absolutely gorgeous. Situated on Bay Lake its minutes by boat ride to Magic Kingdom but seems worlds away. It truly felt like you were in a forest with beautiful walking paths and flowing streams. Every hour the geyser goes off in front...More

You can! We sat at the Geyser Point seating nearest the shore and had great seats for the lagoon show. We could also see from our balcony. You can also see the fireworks from Geyser Point, and they pipe in the music, but it isn't the best view. We actually liked the fireworks from the windows of our 6th story hallway windows, but no music there.

Almost all of the deluxe resorts have villas, which can have multiple bedrooms/sleeping options to fit a family of that size. The newer ones, like the Polynesian, will probably be really expensive and hard to book, but Saratoga Springs and Old Key West may be more affordable and have more options.
The Art of Animation resort (value resort) is all suites and made for larger families.
There are also cabins at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds that have a kitchenette and multiple beds.
I'd go on the Disney website and click on the "places to stay" tab to see all the options.
The trail running between the Wilderness Lodge and the campground is open. It's paved and flat, with lots of trees, birds, etc. around. We really enjoyed it, I think it's a little over 2 miles round trip.
