This hotel is in walking distance of the Universal Studios park. However, it can be difficult to know the path, so if you plan on walking, make sure you know where you're going. The hotel was clean and we had no issues with check in or check out. We were allowed to decide what day we wanted housekeeping to come and they hotel had a microwave in the arcade room. They was a restaurant/bar in the hotel as well and a few food options around the hotel. Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel.
Stayed at this location for one night after visiting universal studios, front desk employee was clean and professional, thanked us for being Loyal Diamond members, we were promptly given our complementary water and fresh baked cookies, and Diamond members resort comp . he explained the resort’s amenities fully . We decided to Eat on site since we we’re extremely tired from 8 miles of walking in universal. We decided to eat at the American Grill on the first floor , the waitress was very attentive and friendly, Typical Hotel Food. Next door was an ice cream shop, ice cream was fresh and normal pricing. The room was beautiful with a nice view of the pool and pond . The only thing I didn’t like to see inside the ground floor with my children around we’re the male and female Guests walking around half naked at the inside bar and restaurant, men had no shirts on and females had no shirts on exposing their bikini tops (chest) and bottoms ( some exposed with G’s) not a good look for the hotel . I’ll definitely return while in the area .…
Return visit to this hotel as the location to Universal Studios is perfect. We were encouraged by the photos of the refurbished of the courtyard and reception including the American Grill as well as the Starbucks. On arrival the night reception staff were a bit frosty and wearing face mask that made conversation muffled and hard to understand. On leaving the lift there was a slight damp smell, the corridors did look dated, and it felt like you were in another hotel. The rooms have only had some green styling but are looking a little tied. I usually point out maintenance issues to the hotel as if guest don’t then some items can get missed and the general deterioration in accommodation will continue for future guest. We did also ask for some more pillows these were provided by housekeeping who are exceptional, but nothing else was rectified within the 10 days stay. The pool area has been refurbished and was tidy with free towels but there are only sun parasols on the seating tables with none for sun lounges. The on-site laundry was good with new machines along with the gym that was in good working order. I understand that Covid did moth ball most of the hospitality worldwide and that business do need to get back on their feet to re-invest in their properties, but the additional $26.00 per day car-parking for residents is ridiculous.…
The location is perfect near to universal studio the building needs to update the whole building the room and the bathrooms are so old and not suits Hilton hotels , good service friendly staff good stores in and the restaurant is amazing needs some improvement in the building and rooms
Hilton Standard in a prime location. What you expect from a Hilton, clean rooms, good bell service, numerous food and drink options, with a Starbucks which is great to take with you on the short scenic walk to universal studios city walk. 2nd time visiting, and will return when back at universal in the future. Word for warning they don’t provide a housekeeping service each day unless asked for. And unfortunately this time even though I booked one for each day when I checked in, this didn’t occur.
We trust Hilton brand hotels. We chose the Doubletree because of its proximity to the Orlando Universal Studios theme park and to save some money on accommodations. Just a few steps from the hotel parking lot is a walking bridge that allows easy, and safe, access across the highway and on to Universal grounds. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the Universal entrance, just as the front desk staff had promised. It is a winding path among lovely landscaping before you will actually see the entrance, so don’t panic-you will get there. Signs provide guidance along the way. Though limited times when we visited, the hotel does provide bus service to and from the park. You make your reservation for the pickup service at a convenient, Universal concierge desk in the hotel lobby, the bus comes to the front door of the hotel. You can purchase park tickets and passes right in the hotel and the people at that desk are very knowledgeable about the park and happy to answer your questions. You do not need a return bus reservation. I suggest snapping a photo of the bus pickup times from the park because there were only three return times when we were there. By staying at the Doubletree, rather than inside the Universal Resort, we saved enough money to upgrade our park tickets and purchase fast passes for the rides. The accommodations met our needs. We liked that our car was nearby in a large parking lot so we could easily access some of our travel items, we needed our heavier jackets one of the days, without taking multiple suitcases into the hotel. The hotel has friendly and helpful staff. The lobby is clean, open, spacious, with a fountain and seating in an easily accessed courtyard. Onsite restaurants, including a Starbucks, provide a good variety of food and beverage, from basic, carry out pizza to higher end meals in the lobby restaurant. We like that we did not have to leave the premises to eat or enjoy a cocktail. The pool area was clean, nothing special, and could use some ambience. We did not use those facilities because it was cooler weather. Our room was clean with a spacious floor plan. There are signs of wear and some needed updates, but nothing we found offensive or in disrepair. I would not consider this a “luxury” hotel, but I would stay there again, so it met our criteria of a safe, clean, and friendly place to be.…
Pros: This hotel is good value for money. An excellent location if you intend on visiting Universal Studios. Check in was a breeze, and the staff were friendly. Our room was spacious, beds were comfortable, pillows fluffy. A nice view if you are on a high floor! Food was decent - they had a Starbucks near check in. Pizza place was good too. I had ordered some packages to the hotel and retrieving them was very easy, with no extra fee. Just around the corner there are multiple places to eat. TGI Fridays right across the street, McDonalds just a little down the road. Front lobby was busy with people, and had a sports bar too. Cons: Parking is $26 per day which we thought was a little steep. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade - they were just fine.
It was our fourth time in Orlando and we liked this hotel very much! Our room was in the 17th floor and we had a fantastic view. I plan to come back next time and the hotel is located 15 minutes to Universal.
We stayed at this hotel in July. It's around a 20 minute walk to Universal Studios. The hotel and the room were really clean. The staff were very helpful. The pool area was very clean and towels are provided. There is a children's splash pool area and a jacuzzi The pool is open till 11pm every night. The hotel food was really nice. There is a garage and an ihop which is around a 20 minute walk. I would recommend hiring a car as there isn't any towns close by within walking distance. I didn't see any entertainment in the hotel when we stayed there. There is a Starbucks on the hotel site which is handy if you miss breakfast. There is also a small shop which sells essentials. I would stay here again.
Very nice hotel, excellent service, great pool area, cracking views and lovely food in the American Grill restaurant. However, circa. $50 per night to park the car is absolutely ludicrous, and I’m not sure what’s more ridiculous; the hotel trying to justify charging it, or the mugs paying it, when there’s a massive free car park literally next door. I cannot emphasise this enough, park your car next door by the Best Western/Miller’s Ale House for free. There is absolutely no reason nor justification for the hotel to be charging the obscene amount they are for car parking. This put a slight dampener on what was otherwise a lovely stay, and in fact I would definitely stay here in future. (Parking the car next door again, obviously)!
