The DoubleTree by Hilton at Universal Orlando garners applause for its inviting atmosphere and prime location near the theme parks, with the on-site Starbucks and modern communal spaces frequently mentioned as highlights. However, guests have shared mixed reviews about service, with commendations for friendly staff but also grievances regarding inconsistent housekeeping and slow check-in processes. While some rooms meet guest expectations, others report cleanliness and maintenance issues. Additionally, the added costs and shuttle service limitations have left some guests questioning the hotel's overall value.

It is perfect location to universal studios just walking distance 10 mins and has Starbucks in it
It is even 5 mins walk to Walgreens too and few restaurants also walking distance
So a better place to stay and enjoy without worrying about transportation
It even has an ice cream parlour and a restaurant in it as well
So a total good package

First off, we decided to venture out into the public and took a weekend trip from WPB to Orlando with 2 high schoolers and us parents. We spent 2 nights at this conference hotel because of the super attractive price of $66/night. The staff practice good COVID etiquette and the whole time we were in Orlando it felt safe. Sure there were some people traipsing around without a care aim the world, but then again that’s to be expected. The hotel is friendly without being hospitality phoney. (You know when everyone says the right & proper-thing until something goes wrong) The hotel has over 1000 rooms and was operating at about 45% occupancy. There is no maid service, so you must take it upon yourself to stock up on towels and toiletries. The rooms were clean and halls were always clear of obstructions. The elevators were not an issue as many people patiently waited for the next car to board if it filled more than 4-6 pp. Amenities were pretty much in operation. The ice cream parlor, the Grill and Starbucks were in service. The pool was opened and they do close it when lightening threatens so be aware of that. Parking was comfortable and the shuttle to to the parks were running. All in all we were very impressed with how the city and merchants are dealing and handling the Covid19.

Nice hotel that is about 20 minutes away from the airport as well as the Disney! It is within walking distance from some restaurants. The room was clean and quiet. The desk person was very nice and welcoming. The rooms do not have a balcony , the view was towards the courtyard which is a nice cozy area with a fire pit for cooler nights. There are some sitting areas and a small pool…not sure if the pool is usable or just for the decor. The lobby area is pretty big, there are some restaurants inside as well as a Starbucks and a sweets store open till late. The breakfast was not included , the rooms are cleaned upon request and while we run out of coffee, just by calling the front desk they delivered some to our room. There is a coffee machine inside , as well as a fridge and safe. Nice stay for two nights in Orlando.

I went to the doubletree by hilton with my kids and well i have to admit the location is great since it is really close to the universal parks and shopping malls, but the rooms were so so, very modest, no coffee machine, no complimentary water or even sold water, i think that weekend i went i ended up so dehydrated. The worst was that i came back from parks so so tired to come to a room un made :(. I literally had to come back to clean my room and my kids rooms because the cleaning staff were already gone home, then i had to go myself and get fresh towels because they didnt even want to change my towels. I paid extra to have breakfast buffett (something less to worry about) but when i went to the restaurant at the hotel they told us there was no breakfast included (even though i paid extra for that) and well i ended up paying to have breakfast, ehich was ñuteraññy disgusting and the staff very very slow and rude, they literally would just come to your table and throw the stuff on the table, the forks and knives flying across the table (literally). Another thing is that they charge you 25 dollars a day for parking, is it jusy me or shouldnt that be included lol. Anyways the only thing good i could say in the end about hotel is location but the rest awful.

We appreciate your candid review and it is feedback such as this that helps us improve our services. We understand your frustration in regards to changes with services such as housekeeping, buffets and amenities in your room. To keep our guests and team members safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hilton has modified certain policies and procedures, including minimizing surfaces to clean in the guest rooms, and eliminating housekeeping for 1 to 2 night stays. Although, refreshing rooms is available upon request. Water is available for purchase at the front desk and in our gift shop. As stated above, buffets have been eliminated for the safety of our guests, and replaced with a la carte options. If you'd like to discuss the challenges you experienced with our management team, please contact the hotel directly.

We selected this hotel due to it being walking distance from Universal and that was by far the best perk of this hotel. The pedestrian bridge made it easy to get to the parks and it's also really easy to drive to the parks as well. It is actually so close to Universal that the Universal app thought we were on property so we were able to make Hagrid's virtual queue reservations from bed!

The property itself is definitely on the older side, but well maintained. We checked in on the app but went to the front desk to grab keys and cookies. The woman at the front desk said maybe five words to us over the entire exchange, but I feel like she's an exception: everyone I talked to over the phone before my stay was gracious and professional.

We selected a Universal view room and I'm glad we did. We chose a room on the side of the building that directly faces Universal. Be sure to choose or request a room that directly faces the parks, not one with a side view. We were able to see roller coasters, Hogwarts, and more.

The room was clean and appeared to be renovated in the last few years. The bed and pillows were good quality and I appreciated the massive bathroom counter and sliding glass door walk in shower. The fridge was nice to have but no microwave--the only one in the hotel is in a small, old gameroom off the pool.

No major noise issues, but the doors to the rooms seemed to let a lot of noise in.

My only issue with this hotel occurred after checkout. I had brought a Roku stick to plug into the TV and unfortunately left it plugged into the back of the TV. I called the hotel the day of checkout and spoke to housekeeping who said they would call me back in 20-30 minutes. I never heard back from them. I called them again a day later and the housekeeper who picked up said everyone is on break and to call back later. While a Roku stick isn't the most expensive thing in the world, I would really like it back, and the lack of communication from the hotel about this issue is the one thing holding me back from a five star rating.

We had a really nice time at the DoubleTree at the Entrance of Universal. We usually stay at a nearby resort but decided to stay here because it was so close to Universal. Our room was located on the 17th Floor, looking out towards Universal. We did catch the fireworks one night out of our window. If you want to walk to UO, it's about a 10-15 minutes. It's not a bad walk and you can enter through the Valet Parking. At this time the walking ramp on Kirkman Blvd. was closed but you can walk across the boulevard. They have walking signal. Don't want to walk? They do have a shuttle available but you will need to sign up for it. All the drivers were great. The overall hotel staff was great, the room and the grounds of the hotel were clean. Loved that they had a laundry facility ($ 3 to wash- 30 minutes & $3 to dry- 50 min.) traveling with kids and being at the parks all day, we needed that added benefit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again!

Everything in Orlando is over-priced; that said, this location offers an economical base for Hilton Honors members. Lots to see and do on “down days” between parks. I stayed here for 30k points a night, which went down to 20k after receiving back promotion points. As a Diamond member, I got a room upgrade with space for the whole family. The breakfast is excellent, and very inexpensive as a Diamond. Kids loved the pool. There is a free shuttle to Universals City Walk - a really cool place to visit that does not require paying admission! Very close to Universal, International Drive, and all Disney parks. Note that there is a charge to self park( just about all hotels will have this). I would definitely consider this Hotel if you want to “feel” like you’re on vacation without opening your wallet quite so much.

I stay here often, like regularly, and the staff here makes my stay!
Management is always “on my side” they want the very best for their guests. Always! Their cookies are amazing and always warm & delicious! They’ll always make sure you’re comfortable & happy! Special thanks to Andrea for just that!
Make sure you stay for breakfast. Its the best! And again the staff makes the experience. The wait staff calls me by name, they treat me like royalty. Always attentive and kind. They remember me when I come back in town, always friendly and happy to see me. The eggs are fresh & the coffee cup is never empty. Great way to start my day!

When in Orlando, treat yourself, stay at the Double Tree by Universal! You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I travelled to Orlando for vacation. We were reserved for this hotel and as soon as we walked in, we were at awe of the welcoming ambiance, cleanliness, and top services. Our room was very much well kept, up to date, and had a beautiful view of Universal Studios as well as the skyline. It was truly a great experience. We utilized the Sunshine Cafe for breakfast 3 times. While the price was a little excessive, there is a plethora of options that can satisfy any palette. The service from Vinny was excellent as he was very guest-oriented, prompt, positive. He always portrayed an enthused enjoyment in serving his guests. We also utilized the fitness room which has lots of space and equipment to doing workouts. The hotel provided towels, water, earphones, and sanitizer wipes. We also ordered food and drinks at Starbucks and pizza shop which were a plus. We took advantage of using the pool and hot tub. Plenty of chairs, tables and towels were provided. Even though we did not dine at the hotel’s restaurant, we did enjoy the live music while eating ice cream and snacks from their gelato shop. Overall, this was one of the best experiences we’ve had and we plan on coming back for more in the future. Thank you Double Tree by Hilton for your top A+ service! 😊

This hotel offered exactly what was expected, especially considering covid precautions. Despite previous reviews we found all staff and guests to be wearing masks and people were noticeably social distanced when waiting for the elevator or in the lobby. People were very reluctant to share an elevator with others even though precaution signs limited the elevator to 2 parties in one elevator. We knew there would not be daily cleaning and honestly, it made the stay a little less hectic. We totally understood their reasoning. We also had a Keurig coffee maker in our room. We enjoyed the breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe but they were seriously understaffed. Our kids eat very simple breakfast and we usually were in a hurry to walk to Universal and the staff was fast and efficient! We would have been interested in taking the free shuttle bus but the desk was never staffed late and it had to be reserved in advance. Since we weren't returning from the parks until 6:30 or later we never had a chance to reserve the shuttle. Desk staff were friendly and professional and gave us more cookies when we asked for them :) Overall, if you aren't staying at a Universal Property, this is the next best thing in terms of location. Would definitely stay here again.
