Disney's Art of Animation Resort enchants many guests with its whimsical theming and clean facilities, although some have reported the rooms as being somewhat cramped. While the resort's convenient transportation, notably the Skyliner, and its proximity to attractions are highlights for travelers, opinions on value are mixed due to the costs and noise concerns. The service is mostly applauded for being attentive, and amenities like heated pools and family suites add to the appeal, despite occasional lapses in staff responsiveness.

This hotel looks great on pictures but that’s where it stops. The two front desk staff I interacted with were rude and not helpful at all. We were never informed that our room would be “inspected” everyday by staff even after you requested no service and hung the do not disturb sign on door to get in shower. Scared the lights outta my kid that was sleeping in the bed next to the door. After speaking with management, they are having us “schedule” a time for supervisor to inspect. Nothing like being made to feel like a total criminal after spending almost $4k to stay there. Did I mention that the supervisor is over 45 mins late to the “scheduled inspection”. In the mean time, my family and I sit in hotel confinement, instead of enjoying the day at one of the Disney parks. Do not waste your money. There are plenty of non Disney hotels that give you some of the same benefits, with raking you over the coals.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel. This is the most expensive “value” hotels, and you get nothing but early entry...

A quick 4 day getaway. The Disney Magic is alive and well at AOA. It was amazing. This was our first time to this resort. If you want “bam” in your face Disney, this is your place. Everyone was so friendly and the Skyliner is a game changer. Even if the line is long, and it will be for rope drop, don’t worry, moves real fast. Had a couple of quick bites at Landscape of Flavors and it was very good. It is a big resort. However, we were in the Little Mermaid non-suite rooms as it was just my wife and I and it would only take us like 5 minutes to get to food court and Skyliner. Bus to MK was about 15 and bus to DS was about 10. Would not recommend the non suite rooms for more than 3 people. Would be a very tight. Overall, would give it a 5 out of 5.

This resort was really great for families with young children. The check in process was easy and the pools were awesome. That being said their housekeeping is a disaster. We stayed a full 7 nights two connecting rooms for a group of 7 . 5 adults 2 children. We were told housekeeping would be every other day starting on that Monday. One room was done around 10:30 am and our room was not done. Yet the room on the other side of us was done also around 11am I called housekeeping around 1 to check And was advised it would be done that day. I asked if it could be done before 3 pm as we needed to shower in order to keep our bus schedule for a dinner reservation. We returned to room at 3:30 pm and it was not done. I called again and got a lame excuse that they use 2 different housekeeping companies . They showed up at 4pm so we had to use my son’s room to finish getting ready . One person cleaned and was gone in 10 minutes. Did not even bother vacuuming floor. They showed up Tuesday and Wednesday but not Thursday or Friday. On Saturday they showed up at 10:30 when check out is at 11am. We had gone down to parking lot to say goodbye to family members and returned to room for one final inspection and they were already in there (all of our possessions were already packed in the car) The check out procedure can by done on your phone and when I looked at it at 10:50 am they already had us checked out automatically. Their idea of cleaning is not very good

Stayed for 3 nights in a little mermaid room . This is a busy resort but perfect for young kids . Absolutely loved the sky liner and bus service . The kids loved the big blue pool . Will stay again in the future . The rooms are small but clean . Food was better at this location than the normal value resorts.

I booked this hotel since it was my kiddo's choice. The resort grounds are amazing and the cast members/staff are also very friendly and the transportation options were awesome. Great water pressure, we loved Hey Disney, awesome theming and lots of pool safety for little ones. With that said our room in building 9, Little Mermaid felt very dated. There was mold in the grout in the shower, a leaky shower faucet, the cleaning staff forgot a dirty wet rag on our dresser touching our stuff, we were assigned the wrong room type, also the toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) were not refilled and there's no way to know until you're in the middle of a shower. The cafeteria has friendly employees and great food but by the time we sat down to eat it was cold or lukewarm. I probably won't return at least not to the little mermaid rooms. There are so many options for a Disney vacation and unfortunately this one fell flat for us. I paid around $180 a night which I feel was a good price especially for the ease of the transportation. I never complained besides the wrong room type which was fixed immediately. After long park days I just didn't have the energy to complain about the housekeeping . Fortunately we were not in our room all day since we were there for the parks.

We stayed in the Lion King suite for a few nights and the suite is definitely not worth the money. We ended up leaving a night early because the beds are very very uncomfortable and the floors kept turning our feet black, so there was no where for me to put the baby down to play/crawl. I’d save the extra money and just get a standard room if you chose to stay here.

We didn’t stay here, but we got dessert here. All three desserts we got were so good. Moist, delicious, and we would get them again! The lobby was also decorated beautifully with an amazing tree. All cast members were pleasant.

We come to Disney quite a bit, but first time staying at art of animation. Overall have had a good experience as our daughter loves little mermaid and lion king, however our cooler was not working the whole entire time we were here. We called 3 times to try and get it fixed. The first two times no one came at all and we received no follow up. On the last day of our trip, calling for the 3rd time as we had some food get spoiled and formula that got ruined for our two month old daughter as we couldn’t put open bottles in a cooler that was warm. As we were calling at 9 pm, a manager came to our door with no notice or warning, felt like he was pretty much barging in our room as we were trying to get our two daughters asleep. The manager, name was David Woodstein, though referred to himself as “Woody” on his name tag, told us he was the head manager, although we later found out he was just the head of housekeeping. Instead of apologizing for our fridge not working and having someone take a look at it, he proceeded to explain that it’s a cooler not a fridge and things won’t get as cold in an extreme condescending manner like we were incompetent. I explained I have stayed at Disney and other hotels to understand how a cooler works and it should still get somewhat cold not completely warm. He said how did we know no one came in and looked at it and we explained if they did, we got no follow up about it. Basically told us nothing he could do other than remove it and get an entire new one. With it being our last night, we just said no, just very frustrated it was never even looked at. Would have been fine with even just an I’m so sorry or I understand, but instead was told if I still was upset, I could go complain on a moms blog, which was a very inappropriate to a customer, especially knowing the level of service expected here. My husband went up to the front desk to speak to a manager there who was the actual hotel manager. After explaining the interaction we had with Woody, she was fantastic and handled in the way expected, by saying what he said was inappropriate and comped us the last night of our stay. She also had someone come up because our tv wasn’t turning on that night. When that person came up to fix the tv, he said do you know your power on your fridge isn’t on? And turned a switch, fixing an easy issue that could have been resolved 3 days prior in less than 5 minutes. What we learned is if you have an issue, don’t call, walk to the front desk as calling goes to a customer service center which won’t be as helpful. Also I would avoid dealing with this Woody manager as he is prob the rudest cast member I’ve ever interacted with. Based on the hotel manager, it didn’t seem it was the first complaint they’ve gotten on him.

I have to say that I was impressed with the Art of Animation hotel. The check in process was very easy, we opted to check in in-person and not use the online check in. The gentleman that helped us check in was very helpful and was kind and full of information. Cruzer, his name, helped us check in fast and without any hiccups. My youngest daughter, a 2 year old, even decided to interact with him, which does not happen often with strangers. We live locally and decided to surprise our kids with a last minute trip to Disney World and decided to stay on property in order to have more time inside of the parks. My wife forgot to pack her hot chocolate, and Cruzer walked us around the resort in order to find us hot chocolate for her to have in the room. He went above and beyond what he had to do in order for us to have what we needed. The room itself was themed nicely. We choose a Little Mermaid room, which my daughters loved. I do wish that we had gotten a ground floor, but the floor we were on was not bad. You have access to both the buses and the gondolas in order to get to and from the parks from the hotel. This makes it very convenient to get to the parks. Disney transportation was easy to access, although you do have to walk further with the Little Mermaid rooms compared to other rooms, but as is typical at a Disney resort, you pay more to be closer to the transportation. And that is the worst thing that I have to say about the hotel, which is not bad at all. Food is limited at this value resort, that is to say that it only has the one restaurant area that is all quick service meals. The prices are not outrageous, but they are not cheap either. Again, you are staying in the Disney bubble as others phrase it. The food itself was not horrible. It will not win any awards, but if a 2 and 8 year old will eat it, then you have to say it was good enough. Overall, I would say it was a great stay. I do wish for what Disney charges at this particular resort that they would offer more. There is not much of a cost difference between this resort and the next tier up in hotels on Disney property. It is a value resort in name only and for the price they should offer at least one more dining option on the hotel property, or use and open area in-between this property and the Pop Century resort to add an actual sit down restaurant instead of only quick service meals.

The rooms are decorated which is nice, however the room was a little bit dirty, stain on the bedding. The, wait for food in the dining hall was long, with two young ones its best to bring your own food. Not so sure will stay at one of these value resorts again with our second bad experience.
