Stayed here Feb 2019 and booked via British airways and assumed it would be good quality . Not long after booking this noticed a few negative reviews. Called BA to see if could change and was told this hotel had a no cancellation policy with BA. The adviser then went on to say that he stayed there recently and would not have recommended!!!!
When arrived all seemed good, smart reception area and easy check in. We asked if could upgrade and was told would be $120 per night! Access to our room was via an open corridor which we later discovered was prone to large puddles when it rained. Our room was very old fashioned and in need of total refurbishment. The bathroom still had previous occupants toothpaste cap lying on the floor and that stayed there for the whole of our week stay!!! The table at the window was never cleaned either.
Carpets were stained. The bed was ok but mattress sagged at the edges and pillows were lumpy!! Breakfast was the usual free for all and varied on quality and quantity on a daily basis. We used the premium breakfast room on the 1st floor of the main building on the last few days and were never challenged. The only benefit to using this was it was smaller and less busy, but same choices as main breakfast area. There is a bar in the reception are which opens at night but the week we were there was closed more than was open with no indication why. The pool area was nice there are free towels but not immediately clear where you get these. Do to the positioning of the pool it was in the shade from the building from around 3pm when we were there
Overall great location but would not recommend unless you are in the premium rooms but I suspect there are better hotels nearby for the extra you will have to pay for these

When I checked in and entered my room for the very first time, there was poop on the toilet, with paper and the floor was dirty. I asked for help with this and only a maintenance worker went to my room to flush the toilet, no cleaning. The next day, the floor was completely the same, completely dirty, no cleaning. Looks like they only clean your bed, and the sink, and a "little bit" of the toilet.
In additional, the bed do not have more than a little blanket, we had to ask for another one, and the pillow where like cushions, we also had to ask for real pillows.
Not worth it.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The hotel actually has 2 different sections - normal rooms and suites. However, these are literally 2 different buildings, with different facilities and breakfast areas even.
The older building was obviously never renovated, they just annexed it to the newer suites via a walkway. Bloated wallpaper, stained fittings, old furniture, room door always took a few tries to open... it barely qualifies for 3 stars. We checked in on New Year’s Eve and at breakfast the next day, the pancake machine was “broken” and supplies never arrived. 3 days later when the crowd thinned, the pancakes/waffles machines, milk and muffins mysteriously reappeared. We asked countless times over a few days for a hairdryer before finally getting one which was broken and nonetheless needed replacing! I understand there was a crowd over Xmas and New Years, but we do pay inflated room rates for those periods so we can enjoy a decent stay!
From what I can tell, the suites might be decent, but the standard rooms are nowhere close to 4 stars and it would have been better off booking a more established 3 star hotel.
The only redeeming factor was Chris at reception, who tried his best to make it work. He personally scouted a hairdryer for us after the 3rd time we had asked for one and provided information anytime we asked.

Would recommend people stay away from this substandard hotel as we had to walking out of the double room in the South Tower, the airconditioning unit made a racket would we have been unable to sleep, room very basic, dirty carpets, 1 * rated. We complained and upgrated to a suite, however room was not cleaned despite reminding /complaining. Breakfast was only served on 2nd floor on first day with champagne as per package then moved to 1st floor for duration with no extras as paid for, ok due to start of isolation remits but it was crowded !! All complaints forwarded to General Manager, Cary Amador was met with her being in meetings and would ring us, still waiting!!! The only person that made out holiday experience great was Edwin Javier Paulino who ran the bar with excellence, without him our stay was miserable! He has not had the support of Management and has run and arranged the bar under his own merits that ensures what little guests were there arrived and stayed as we did. The General Manager Cary Amador who has brought this hotel to its knees with staff that know and do nothing to help/assist the customer. Lisa and Stephanie just made excuses and shrugged their shoulders ! I will advise our Travel Advisor not to recommend this "so called" hotel to anyone who expects a great welcome, service and accommodation, unless you're desperate, I would rate this place 1* and you only have this because of Edwin otherwise minus ten -10 !!
To make it better get rid of Cary Amador !!!

Cary checked us in and she is so friendly! She gave us tips about going to Universal Studio and offered us drinks, cookies & fresh fruits every time she sees us passing the lobby. Covid protocol is followed very well. Masks at all times inside the building, frequent cleaning of surfaces, limiting elevator to 1 family. We feel comfortable and safe. View of the lake is superb, and our room is clean. The lobby is beautiful and clean. The heated pool is big with 6ft deepest depth, hot tub is nice and big. Both overlooked the lake and the lights of the other hotels. Nice! Due to covid, breakfast is replaced with fresh organic fruits (individually wrapped) and self-serve coffee/hot cocoa. We like this approach. We had leaky faucet in our room and maintenance fixed it within minutes. The hotel is 1 mile away from Universal, really awesome! We had a nice 4-day stay at the hotel!! We recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you are going to Universal Studio! Thank you Cary for your hospitality!

I transferred to the Ramada Plaza after being originally booked into a hotel on I-Drive that has a higher rating. It made me realise that opinions are a fickle thing.
My experience at this hotel turned what could have been a horrible stay in Orlando to a fantastic one!
The staff were welcoming and friendly and the lakeside view was fantastic!
The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and the hotel feels secure as the lift access to each floor is controlled by your room key. It's also in a great location near to food and just a short walk from Icon Park and a few stops on the I-Ride to the outlet shopping.
If you are on a budget, the continental breakfast more than suffices and provides a great start to the day without having to leave the hotel.
On the whole a great stay!
I would definitely stay here again and think this hotel needs an upgrade in its rating!

I booked a room at this hotel specifically for the rooftop pool and terrace. I paid extra to stay in this hotel in lieu of other surroundings hotels due to this amenity others did not offer. I was looking forward to watching the sunset and enjoying my evening relaxing with a bite on the terrace. I was gravely disappointed to be handed a paper when I checked in stating a standard room does not have those privileges, nor access to the gym. For suites, they pay $25 for a day pass and only the most expensive rooms have this access included.
Parking is a mess. They have maintenance work on the top level of the garage leaving guests scrambling to find a place to park. I was fortunate to find a park when I checked in but was blocked in by another car when attempting to leave in the evening. Guests were parked all over, in areas clearly marked no parking and in the handicapped spots. When I informed an employee, they didn’t seem to show any empathy and just cited their maintenance work as the issue.
There are 2 buildings. The North building is the main building where the rooms are actually accessible inside the building and looks newer/better maintained. I stayed in the South Tower which appears to be an older section. The elevator is outside and requires a card key to utilize which was actually nice as it provided a little extra comfort only guests could access the floors. The entrance to the rooms is from the outside like a motel. The room itself was not representative of the Ramadas I’ve stayed in before. The furniture is dated and the mini fridge was dirty. There were spills from previous guests that were not cleaned. There were a few small flies in the room and a few ants? On the the table .
Access to the main pool in the ground floor was from 8am - 8pm. I was unable to enjoy my evening sitting out by the pool which has a lovely view of the lake and some surrounding hotels. I was also unable to sit outside to enjoy breakfast in the nice morning weather.
Wi-Fi is spotty at best. I kept getting kicked off.
Now the positives, when you book a standard room, it truly is what you get, I had 2 queen beds with basic bedding and pillows, a mini fridge and microwave with shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. The room had a lovely view of the lake. Parking and Wi-Fi is included. They have a continental breakfast with bagels, toast, eggo waffles and a make it on the spot pancake maker, apples and oranges, a variety of cereal and packets of oatmeal you can make yourself, coffee, tea and juice. While they don’t have any restaurants on site, there are plenty down international drive within walking distance.

We have been visiting the ramada as a family since 2016 for us the location and the breakfast are the 2 main reasons as you have free parking and are so close to Universal studios. Plenty of food options within walking distance. The breakfast is still a saving for a family but we felt it had gone downhill a bit from previous visits the options were limited and not being topped up so if you weren’t quick you simply were not getting it that morning. Long queues for toasters that were broken and pancake maker line was ridiculously long each morning. This is only time you can get a tea or coffee as no longer facilities in the room for making this that was disappointing.
Clean and comfortable beds but rooms dated and very tired looking we had a suite but the carpet was old badly stained and very worn, our room was missing the voile curtains so options were either blackout or zero privacy.
The air con is good but so loud my husband could barely sleep past the noise and that was with earplugs in!
Outdoors the hot tub was not working for majority of our stay had yellow cones and tape around it. The sunbeds are limited I think we counted 9 for whole hotel and people are reserving them when not even using the pool areas, the ones that are there are old and broken.
Cleaning service wasn’t great we were told at check in it would be every 3 days but we had to chase this up more than once whilst staying and ask daily for enough towels for 5 guests as they kept leaving us just 3 for 5 people.
Laundry services were poor with most machines out of order on several floors.
Overall the hotel is still in a great location if you want somewhere safe and clean to lay your head after a busy day at the theme parks. However if you are planning on spending time in your suite or by the pool I would maybe rethink booking here. Breakfast is a cost saving bonus and a convenience but get there early or do without some choices as they don’t refill even things like cereal throughout the morning we know as when we asked we got a rather rude “NO” with no explanation given despite it being before 9am.

This was the most unprofessional hotel I’ve stayed in!! They were not accommodating whatsoever and lied to me on the phone prior to booking stating their hotel was open later than it was. We came to Florida to enjoy the warm weather and pool after Disney which was impossible with the pool closing at 8pm. We had 4 nights booked and checked out after night one and the staff could have cared less, didn’t even ask why we were checking out 3 nights early. I’ll never stay at a Ramada again after this experience.
