The Coco Key Hotel and Water Park Resort, situated on International Drive, garners praise for its prime location close to attractions and convenient amenities, such as the on-site water park and dining options. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and are often entertained by the hotel's karaoke nights, despite noting some instances of service inefficiency.
While some travelers report inconsistency in room cleanliness and upkeep, the recent renovations have been welcomed. However, concerns over hidden fees and the overall value for money have been a sticking point for many visitors.

What a wonderful hotel for families. My children loved playing in the amazing water park & the staff were so friendly and always happy to help. The breakfast in the mornings was delicious. The hotel even put on an indoor children’s party & disco with lots of activities for when the weather was really bad. Thank you Coco Key & especially to ‘Erik’ who greeted us with the biggest smile every time & always helped us with our bags. Best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Make no mistake, this is a basic, budget hotel and some may see the "dated" bathroom and lack of place to hang clothes as a downside. However, the beds are extemely comfortable, the staff are very helpful (big shout out to Mo in reception, who in a single act of kindness made our holiday!) and friendly (Sandra always had a smile and a cheery greeting at breakfast) and it has its own waterpark. Okay it is not Volcano Bay, (which can be seen from the hotel) but it has several exciting slides that will keep young and old amused on days between theme parks. I particularly enjoyed the boomerang slide and my teenage son told me the body slide was fun to go down. The waterpark is open to the public, but as hotel guests we had free access. There is also a guest only pool area, which was always well used. Breakfast was a standard buffet and at an additional cost, but there was sufficient there to fuel you for the day. In the evening, pizzas, burgers and chicken strips (tenders) are available at a reasonable price (made even more reasonable with a resident's discount card) but there are also restaurants and fast-food joints within walking distance. The hotel has its own laundry, a Starbucks and a shop selling food, drinks and theme park related merchandise. There are a couple of bars an arcade and Disney films were shown in the bar and grill area. Housekeeping changgd the bedding and towels every day with a full clean every 4 days. This hotel is well located on International Drive and has a shuttle service to Universal studios, which you will need to book. When we stayed this had the added advantage of it appearing to be the first pick up so there was always a seat. There were 4 shuttles running at roughly 1 hour intervals from 7.30 onwards. Coming back is on a first come first served basis so be sure to arrive well before the pick up time. The hotel is a Universal partner hotel so you can pick up tickets etc from a guest relations desk situated in the lobby. There is also a shuttle to Disney running once per day from outside the hotel, but we didn't use this. The hotel also provided us with free iTrolley passes so short trips to Icon Park, Orlando Pointe and Funspot were easy. Overall, this is not a top-end luxury hotel but it is a great place to use as a base for trips to the theme parks and beyond with the added bonus of a waterpark to relax at on days off. If there are any downsides, it would be noisy air con systems (aren't they all!), a lack of lifts in the two storey blocks (not fatal but lugging luggage up and down can be tricky if you are on the first floor), but the pros do outweigh the cons in terms of location, staff and comfort. Oh and did I mention it has its own waterpark!

Stayed at Coco Key Waterpark Resort for 4 nights in late February, 2025. Let me start by saying, this is a place for families w/kids—which is why we chose it (waterpark/slides, multiple pools (heated/covered), kids arcade, kids movies/live entertainment on weekends, free I-ride trolley passes, Starbucks, Smoothie/Shake shop, gift shops, etc. We did not eat on-site since there are so many great options on I-Drive so can’t comment on resort food. Our kids would probably give Coco Key 4-5 stars while the adults might give it 3-3.5 stars due to dated/worn room decor, daily resort & parking fees. However, I felt the value was good for the price we paid, our room was quiet & we had daily housekeeping in our Tower Deluxe Room (interior hallway building). I would probably select a different hotel if you’re a single/couple since it’s a “family vibe” here.

The hotel has many 'plus points' but there are some issues...
Bedroom - We stayed in the 'Tower' rooms. Family room was very large with 2 double beds. There is a lack of storage within the room. Effectively 4 drawers and a small wardrobe for hanging space to be shared by a family is not enough Bathroom - Decent size with bath/shower Air Con - There is air con within the room which was very much needed but this resulted in a very damp carpet immediately under the system itself. Windows do not open so a lack of fresh air Cleaning - The rooms are lightly cleaned daily with fresh towels and beds being made. This however was sporadic. Some days we got new towels but beds not made and vice versa Overall, I would describe the bedroom/bathroom experience as 'budget' The communal spaces within the hotel are better. The water park and pool areas are very nice. The gym is adequate, there is a nice gift shop and an on-site Starbucks The hotel is in the process of creating an ice cream parlour at this time (November 2024) Staff are very friendly and always willing to help Shuttle bus service from hotel to Universal is very useful. Top Tip - you book the outgoing but not the return journey. The shuttle brings you back at either 1715/1820 or 1925 and it is a free-for-all. Arrive early and be prepared for a mass surge! Remember, only us Brits queue! Overall the Coco Key is a good hotel to experience the delights of Florida without breaking the bank BUT, it does need to continue it's ongoing programme of improvement and the bedrooms need some quick time updating

Just returned from a two week stay at CocoKeys being my first trip to Orlando. The hotel is a good budget setting if you want to be out and about all day, very close to Universal (less than $10 in a Lyft) and they also have a free shuttle bus service which is very handy, you just need to get up early to book your places. Disney is about $20 in a Lyft which again isn’t bad and is quicker and easier than the trolley but you can get a free trolley pass if you want to use this instead. All of the staff were brilliant, staff at reception are extremely helpful. Erik on the front door was super helpful always helping with luggage and getting in and out of transport. The biggest let down for this hotel is the cleanliness, the cleaners don’t do a very thorough job at all of cleaning the rooms. I’d never know our floor be cleaned, I never saw them a with a mop, only with a towel clipped to the end of a pole. We were staying there during hurricane Milton and the hotel were good in looking after us and making sure we were safe which was a big relief. More focus needs to be put on keeping rooms cleaner and tidied, regularly replacing towels etc rather than leaving us for days or us having to ask for them. All in all, a great budget hotel if you’re going to be out and about all day and you want a comfy bed to crash in. The rooms are dated and lack anywhere to store your clothing so you’ll be living out of cases for your time but if you’re fine with that then this hotel is a good choice. I would stay here again but not for the full duration of my trip.

Just come back home after an amazing 2 week stay in Orlando. We stayed as a family of 3 and we all really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in block 4 opposite the carpark which was really quiet and the room was a good size and cleaned everyday. The cleaners also arranged my son's soft toys most days on his bed which was a nice touch. I found the pool areas very clean with fresh towels available to use at the pool. Also the pools were heated so you could enjoy them on the evening. My son especially loved the foam party on Saturday and the slides. We can't comment on the food because we didn't eat here. All the staff were so friendly aswell, always greeted you everyday. The hotel is also in a very good location and provides a free shuttle to universal and also free i ride tickets daily if you ask at reception. The only faults we had were the size of the towels in the room, they were a little on the small side and you could also do with putting a foldable airer in the room to hang your wet clothes. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.

Perfect hotel for families! We arrived with our two year old on 29th October. The lady that checked us in was helpful and accommodating. Our room was lovely, had all amenities needed such as safe, mini fridge, hot water dispenser, microwave and hairdryer. We were barely in the room due to going to the parks but the rooms were always cleaned with bed sheets and towels changed daily. We also had an ordeal whereby our keycards wouldn’t let us in our room but maintenance were relatively quick and sorted this out within half an hour of noticing the issue. Staff were always friendly and helpful, we didn’t use the water park or cafe so cannot comment on these however from what we saw, seems perfect for families. Parking was free for hotel guests which was amazing and discounts were given to guests as well which was a nice treat. Hotel WiFi was brilliant - I had to do a UK uni exam whilst out and the WiFi didn’t drop once! My only complaint would be that the floors were never clean so you would get dirty feet unless you walked with shoes on. Other than this, perfect hotel and are looking to come back in April 2027!!

Do not recommend this place!! Our friends stayed here November 23 last year and sometimes we would go in the water park with them it used to be great. Therefore, we decided to stay in this hotel this year booking 11 months in advance. When we arrived at the hotel we was told we didn’t have two rooms next door as we requested previously which was a disappointment (as our daughters was in one room and myself my partner and my son was in another) the rooms where at the opposite ends of the corridor feeling unsafe. We pushed this aside as we was told there was nothing we could do and there was no more available rooms. The room was okay nothing special just somewhere to sleep. However, It wasn’t very clean and there was mold in the bathroom. The maids never bothered and was lazy, our daughters room only got cleaned 5/21 nights and towels where just getting left at the door in a plastic bag and old towels wasn’t being collected, also the beds wasn’t getting changed. A item went missing from our room it was clear to us it had been taken something you wouldn’t notice unless you looked for it. Only postive was the men on the door and bar I’m unsure of there names but they where amazing

I was worried after reading mixed reviews but in all honesty it isn't a bad resort. If you read the reviews of the neighbouring hotels they have the exact same comments including 'dated' and the odd insect. We have stayed in a few hotels on Idrive and they're all pretty standard however Coco keys has the advantage of a water park which is great for the family on non park days. Rooms, yes they're dated and I guess it depends which room you drop on but our was clean comfy and had what we needed apart from a. Wardrobe. Our room was around the guest only pool in a quiet part of the hotel. I would guess that the rooms around the water park are less quiet. The maids were lovely and cleaned our room regularly. The reception area is clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The water park was very busy on a weekend but there are plenty of life guards who are very meticulous in the bag and band checks and very on the ball around the pool. The pool bar gets really busy in the water resort and getting a drink does take longer than I would have liked. The bar around the hotel pool was hardly open which was a shame. The guys that work in the onsite shop were very friendly and helpful and the Starbucks was an added bonus. The hotel is situated in a really great spot on idrive ans is close to Icon park and some nice restaurants. There is a 50 dollar per room deposit to pay upon check in which is to be paid by card. Overall this hotel is the same as Avanti, Rosen Inn and yes could do with an update but we found the staff to be friendly the rooms to be clean my only frustration was the lack of storage space for clothes. The waterpark was great and an added bonus. Don't expect Disney resort quality if you're not paying Disney resort prices and tbh were hardly in our room. The breakfast is not great, once was enough the grill is average but as it is used by everyone on the waterpark and only one girl serving it took ages. More staff are needed for the facilities during the day and the tables around the pool need a good clean in the cracks. I do think that the hotel is lacking a comfy seating area/bar area on an evening and that a grab and go sandwich section would be a winner. I would return to Coco keys as a family we had a lovely Holiday and made some great memories.

From arrival to departure, we had a fabulous experience at Coco Key - the reception staff, Marina, Stephenie and Fidelia made sure we were looked after, from organising Taxi's, offering advice and making sure we were OK when our flight was cancelled.
The waterpark and guest pool were fabulous for our 2 young girls 7 and 8 who took advantage of their early opening and late closing times.
The breakfast and dinner options were well priced and tasty, although they struggled eating what they would at home due to the heat.
Not just the hotel but Florida wide, we noticed there were very little drinks available for someone who didn't like fizzy and Water got a little boring but definitely took advantage of the complementary ice machines.
Housekeeping came round daily and emptied bins and provided fresh towels, but not too sure about the fresh bedding every 4th day although beds were made.
Would definitely go back and stay here - Local restaurants and activities within walking distance and complimentary transport to the parks
