We were scheduled to come to this Marriott Royal Palm Resort after my husband’s annual Panamanian reunion on Saturday, June 28. We have been coming to this resort for a week every end of June/July for the past three years. His reunion was cancelled, but we decided to still stay here. Our two daughters came on Friday afternoon to celebrate a late Father’s Day, so we paid for an extra night also. We put in a request for certain rooms, and we were given our first choice.
The pool and hot tub area was calm at the required 50% capacity. No one was turned away. The entire two buildings were only at about 50% capacity. We requested more items two different times, and a bag with the items was brought within 30 minutes to our room.
We were required to wear face masks when walking around outside and when in the front office area. All workers wore face masks, and were friendly, as usual. The workers were cleaning different areas every time we saw them. We felt very safe during this COVID-19 time. The front desk workers were friendly also. The landscape with its ponds is well maintained, and the interior of the rooms are aesthetic pleasing and comfortable.
We brought enough food to cook or grill, so we never left the resort to eat. The grills were cleaned every day. We were able to walk to Saba Palms, but the large World Marriott seemed very out of place since it was closed, and the golf course was closed as well. We love the Marriott Royal Palm Resort; it is like an oasis away from home. We will be back again!

We booked this trip last minute and were lucky to find this resort through Interval Intenational. We arrived late and check in was efficient and friendly. We also appreciated that they had water and snacks available for purchase. Our condo was beautiful and immaculately clean. We had a beautiful view of the golf course.
The kitchen had everything we needed and they also provided a few packs of laundry detergent. We were worried since spring break is busy that we’d have to fight for chairs around the pool but that was never a problem. The water was warm and had no issue using the hot tubs. We also visited the World Center to eat. Food and service was good but typical of other sports bars. Was also impressed with how clean the public bathrooms were there. Only complaint is the big pool is under construction and thought we could play mini golf for free but was told it was $8 pp for Royal Palms guests so a little confusing what amenities were shared. Noise was minimal for us but there was a lot of helicopter traffic but that didn’t bother us. My kids were in the second room and did say they could hear people in the hall very clearly. Also was a little small for 3 people but there is also a pull out sofa in the living room. All in all we enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back!

I have been staying at the Royal Palms for over 30 years now since my grandfather was an owner and now my mother is an owner. This time we had three rooms at the property as we traveled with another family. Our stay was excellent. First of all, the front desk team was extremely helpful in accommodating our room requests and getting us all together. I know they can't always do it, but the front desk manager was diligent in his efforts and I can tell he's always trying to make it happen for the guests.

Everyone we encountered was pleasant and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. We were at the pool early most mornings before we would go out for the day and the pool cleaning staff would always greet us with a smile. It was also reassuring to see that maintenance/landscaping staff were out at the pool every day for cleaning.

Though the villa buildings do look a bit dated on the outside, the rooms themselves are in excellent shape. All of the furniture and kitchen equipment seemed to be like new. Though it would have been nice to receive daily housekeeping service, any requests for needed items were handled easily with the housekeeping staff.

We also spent a few mornings at the connected Orlando Marriott World Center. The World Center is definitely not as peaceful, but the pool area is a lot of fun. The complimentary shuttle service is also very convenient. My only complaint is that the World Center and Vacation Club have not reached an agreement yet on letting Royal, Sabal, and Imperial Palms members use the brand new waterpark at the World Center. This was unfortunate because my kids kept seeing this beautiful new waterpark and were extremely sad that they weren't allowed to use it at all. Hopefully MVC and the Marriott can reach a quick solution to this issue.

We can't wait to go back next year!

We were there Christmas week '19, in a 2 bedroom villa. Very clean and spacious for the five of us. We are Marriott vaction owners, so we are usually very pleased with the accommodations of the 2 bedroom villas. What wowwed us this trip, is while I was having car issue with flat tire, and road side assistance was unable to get tire off the car. I asked at front desk if there was an air hose on site, figured they would have something seeing how they have all the utility carts around and if I could fill up the tire, I would be able to drive to a tire repair shop. Went to Front Desk, who contacted Facilities Engineer. Front Desk explained that an air hose was not available.

While I was walking back to car, trying to figure out next move, an Engineer approached me and ask if I was asking for an air hose. I replied yes. He then asked what building I was in and said someone with a mobile air compressor will meet you by your car. This is a wow moment. I love that it didn't stop with the "no" we can't help you, they figured something out to help me resolve my problem. True customer service.

Reserved c a room with a whirlpool got a handicap accessible bathroom with a paemrk bench in the shower The room smelled of mildew and musty. They told me house keeping would deodorize the tmriom we left for tge day csne back and the rooms necked the same I called up the front desk they said yes the room was deodorized. I left a 10 dollar tip with a hand written note for housekeeping but the person that allegedly deodirized did not take it, couple this with the fact that ot still snelled the sane. ..they didn't do it. Had to run out to CVS and bought a can of lysol deodorizer and used it to neutralize the bad smell. On top of it a day later this enormous roach was on the towel rack when my wife grabbed the towel.....the scream was blood curling. Oh by the way all this for $1800+ for 4 nights. The front desk was the worst !

Oh and by the way a small pool and a couple of whirlpools.

The property is nice, well maintained and the villa is well stocked. The review is highlighting the absolute disdain this property has for its clients.

As a Marriott elite holder, I book my stays according to my membership on the basis that the status is worth something, and you receive a consistent service.

On this occasion we were advised by phone at 10am that in order to get an early check in ar anytime before 4pm, I would have to go to the property to go on a "wait list". Not only is it a rediculous process that only benefits the hotel it also makes a mockery of a membership.

On arrival at 2.30pm I was advised my room would be ready shortly. At 3.45 I was advised it would be another hour. The supervisor confirmed the disdain this property has for clients by stating we are a completely separate company from the rest of the Marriott group.

We received our room at 4pm, which needed 2 phone calls. 11/2 wait, and a discussion with the supervisor to do so. The room is great but the experience one of the worst I have had.

Just returned from a 2 week stay, our 2nd year at this Marriott. One of the best resorts we have stayed in. From the front desk staff to housekeeping and workers, everyone personable and went out of their way to make for an enjoyable stay.
The 2 bedroom villa is well appointed, spacious and had large kitchen with all appliances and supplies. We were in a great location close to pool and the golf course and had access to all of the Palm amenities including those at the Marriott World Center a short walk or shuttle service Many activities from morning exercise to afternoon munchies and drinks.Close to all theme parks, shopping, restaurants.
We look foward to another visit in 2021.

Based on all the positive reviews and pics, I booked my stay at the Marriott Royal Palms via Expedia last year. Proms and cons

Pros - convenient to Disney, outside property is clean and well kept, free parking, good recreation service, great amount of household supplies. No need for housekeeping to enter the room unless you need something.

Cons - requested a room NOT on ground level, reception unable to accommodate due to max capacity. I was put in room 4456 which was on the far end of the property. Long walk to reception. When I opened the front door I was hit with a musty odor. It was just terrible. My teenage boys immediately started sneezing and I had to put them on allergy meds. Glass windows and sliding doors are thin and you can hear all outside noise clearly. Bedroom glass ceiling to floor window have draft. The bathrooms are dated and needs new caulking. The jet bathtub inside of master bedroom (literally in the bedroom) is an eye sore and hard to clean.

With so many choices in Orlando, I will not be returning.

Part of the Marriott Vacation Club Timeshare association. Our usual resort is Marriott Ocean Pointe on Singer Island but we needed to take the grand kids to Disney World so we swapped our week for here. All staff were great. Pleasant and helpful, but they cannot provide what the property doesn't have. At first our villa was on the far side of the property requiring a rather healthy walk to get to the pool area for seniors (me) or small kids (2). They changed us at check-in which was appreciated.
Our timeshare is a Platinum Villa meaning that it is a suite with a master bath, king bed, a living room (with fold out queen bed)/dining area and a full kitchen; with a separate "lock-off" room with a queen bed, a fold out double bed and kitchenette.
What we got was a 2 bedroom suite. The master was fine but the other room did not lock off and had only room for my son and his wife to sleep in. The grand kids ended up on the fold out in the living room. Not aa big deal, but not what I pay my annual maintenance for, To me a resort should have a good sized pool that is kept immaculately cleaned, a bar/restaurant poolside, serving drinks and food with poolside service. Royal Palms doesn't measure up. The pool was infested with deceased millipedes (I removed 6 in one day) and occasional duck droppings. This was pointed out to the staff on two visits to the pool and eventually was rectified. Other than a baby pool they was no splash pad or any other activity for children. The only place to obtain sustenance was a market in the lobby.

We stayed in our two bedroom end unit, top floor #4278, which overlooks the 16th green of the Hawks Landing golf course on site. Short walk to main pool and clubhouse. Plenty of room in the suite and on the balcony porch. Entertained visiting senior friend two nights and two young grandchildren another night during our 10 day stay. They all enjoyed the second bedroom and bathroom. I mention the construction because it is ongoing on the same large campus , but over at the Marriott World Center hotel. The impact is only that the big pool complex at the hotel is under major renovation to create a water park and not to be completed until 2022. And the expanded convention center has changed the traffic patterns and jogging/walking trail. But the work does not directly affect the Royal Palm vacation club property itself. The pool here is large and worked fine even on a busy Easter weekend. Pool chair shortage is a COVID restriction issue but don’t let it bother you. Sit on the pool deck itself. Resort is IDEALLY located within 10-15 minute drive of anything you want to access — golf, Publix, a lot of restaurants of every type, and Disney World of course. Be sure to take a 15 minute drive over to Celebration Town Center and drive through this planned community of beautiful homes, golf club and restaurants surrounding the town lake area. Two dinners on the converted patio at Celebration Town Tavern were a highlight of our stay.

Generally, guests at the Royal Palms have access to the main pool, restaurants, and shop at the Marriott World Center. You do not have complimentary access to the Disney shuttle or the water park. Please note, however, that The Orlando World Center Marriott is operated by an independent merchant not affiliated with Marriott Vacation Club International, and access to their property is subject to their discretion.
