I’m currently staying at the Caribbean Beach, in the Aruba section of the resort. The complex itself is good and has lots of things going on. The room itself leaves a lot to be desired. To be fair I didn’t expect much to start with but 2 nights in and I am already looking forward to leaving. The room is small and is more like a motel than a hotel. The air con unit is old and noisy but it keeps the room cool. The main problem is that it only has one setting and that is full tilt. So when it is time to sleep naturally I attempted to turn the setting down or even the whole unit off. This is where the problems began, the thermostat was turned off and yet the air con continued merrily on. Only the youngest member of the family has managed to sleep. Exhausted I called the first desk at 3 am and they sent an engineer who had a peek around and said there was nothing he could do. The next day I visited a front desk and told them of the situation and they arranged for an engineer to visit the room at 8pm - nobody showed. The air con continued on and on though. The room we are staying in is adjoined with family members and their air con turns down to a quiet lull yet there seems nothing can be done for our rogue air con unit. At this point I just need some sleep but it seems impossible and the resort doesn’t care how magical my stay is. It’s more than fair to say avoid this one, if things don’t go to plan you’re on your own.…
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Caribbean Beach Resort with two kids (6 and 11). Room was spacious and clean for a family of 4. The pull out bunk type of bed for optional 5th sleeper fits a child and was cute. Only negative were beds were a little soft and kind of cave into the middle and they needed more bartenders at banana cabana. Standout positives: Very friendly staff-from concierge, restaurant and gift shop staff to friendly lifeguard. Dedicated buses to this resort as well as one stop at resort next door were easy to use. Skyliner is accessible to resort. I witnessed a lifeguard save a child in distress and was amazing. The frose drink at banana cabana was my favorite drink of the week. I didn’t do much research beforehand and the hotel does not provide much guidance so here are some helpful tips: -the resort is massive so if you are far away from the lobby but close to the skyliner, there is an awesome coffee/drink/donut shop a short walk to skyliner to grab an awesome morning cup of coffee -in addition to drink machines by the main pool and restaurant, each “village” has one building with the drink machine. Go ahead and buy that $20 refillable mug at the lobby/grab and go so that you can have unlimited refills during your stay. -there is an internal bus shuttle. If your room is far away from the main pool/restaurant/lobby, take that shuttle to save a long walk. We had no idea about this until we noticed a shuttle while waiting for our bus to Disney -buses run like clockwork. Never had to wait more than five minutes. Never had a problem getting room on a bus -4 types of buses: internal resort shuttle, magic kingdom, animal kingdom and Disney springs. You can access other resorts by transferring at magic kingdom or using monorail from magic kingdom. -when going to Hollywood studios or Epcot, the skyliner was super close and so easy to use -since the lobby is so far away, be sure to stock up on water for your mini fridge. -while lite housekeeping is only every other day, they provided so many towels our family of 4 never reused a towel -the pool had pool towels available for guests -the main pool has games and activities until 3pm and my kids loved everything about the pool -the main pool has very attentive lifeguards and life jackets -if your arrival or departure time is before or after check out, check your luggage with the bell service and you can still use the amenities. We arrived at 11am, checked our luggage and enjoyed the pool. When our room was ready at 3, we went to your room, called Bell service and our luggage was delivered within 20 minutes. So helpful -your magic band will work until midnight day of check out. -if you used magical express to arrive at hotel from airport, they save your return flight info and provide a card day before check out with your airport shuttle information. Very nice. I would hands down stay here again and wish I had known all of these tips prior to arrival so I hope these help someone else!…
Our second stay at this hotel and it was just as good the second time around. We stayed in Aruba. We loved the new Skyline which goes from the hotel to Epcot or Hollywood studios. Very quick and easy. Last time we had a meal deal which we loved but that wasn’t an option this year. Come on Disney bring back the meal plan. We made use of the early park entry to get on the most popular rides before the queues grew too big. We also bought the Genie plus to get fast passes on many of the rides. It was expensive but it meant we could do all the main rides with short queues. Probably will eat outside the park until the meal plan returns.
Stayed here as a family of 4 for 2 weeks in July 2022. Loved every minute. We checked in early in the day and were able to request a room in building 51 in Aruba - close to the bridge to walk to the main pool and eateries, and roughly half way between the main Skyliner station and the one at Riviera. This location was fantastic. The room was great - I've certainly stayed in bigger rooms but when here our intention was to either be at the pool or at a theme park, the room was just a base to sleep and freshen up really. The "5th sleeper" pull down bed was really cute, and I'd say could easily sleep a child aged 10. Room was cleaned enough times for our liking, personally I don't care if my bed gets made every day or if I have to use a towel for a couple of days! I'm there to have fun at Disney World not look for negatives, so all the people that are slamming the hotel for not giving them a new towel and cleaning up after them every day maybe need to just chill out. Yes the resort is quite big. Yes your room could be a reasonable walk from the main pool/amenities. So what - most Disney resorts are huge!! We visited Animal Kingdom Lodge, Coronado Spring, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, Saratoga Spring, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Art of Animiation. In almost all of those resorts you have the same potential to be located quite remote from the key amenities. The resorts are big, get over it!! The Skyliner is superb. Amazingly quick access to Hollywood Studios, and pretty quick to Epcot too (certainly quicker than driving/parking/walking to the main entrance). We never had to queue much at all for Skyliner, and that was both being up for early entry and returning at the end of the night following the park close shows. Buses were reliable too - obviously for HWS and Epcot there's only a bus when Skyliner is shut due to storms. But for Disney Spring, AK and MK they were roughly every 20 minutes with screens to indicate when the next was due. I overheard some people moaning at a bus stop about having to wait for a bus - but it's not an on demand service!!! Get a taxi/uber if you're in that big a rush. We did have a car with us, but between Skyliner being so quick and the farce at Magic Kingdom of walking to get boat/monorail, we didn't really need the car. One bit of advice - if there's storms forecast, best to take your car to HWS or Epcot as the Skyliner will shut when there's lightning. The food options at Caribbean Beach aren't particularly great. Standard stuff in the quick service but some nicer options at the pool bar and Sebastians. Refillable mug was good value for us, often found ourselves back at the pool most afternoons to get away from the busy parks - and the refill station is right beside the pool. The main pool is really nice, two slides and zero-entry. Very warm. Very busy!! Smaller pools can be found in each section, these are much quieter. All in all we would stay here again in a heartbeat. As I said above we visited a lot of other resorts, ranging from the value to deluxe, and whilst some had their attractions, we would opt for Caribbean Beach again. Hope this helps your choice, if you look for negatives and try to find fault in things you almost always will. If you want a lovely resort with lots of charm & character, a good pool and wonderful amenities and transportation options, then I would highly recommend Caribbean Beach!…
Extremely disappointed with our experience... First of all be aware that there is no daily cleaning service. We where shocked that our room was the exact same way we left it this morning. 2. air conditioning is super old and loud. 3. Breakfast quality was terrible. Microwaved scrambled eggs 4. Rooms have rugged flores full of dust To be honest I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Specially because the price is super high.
The positive of this hotel is the access to the skyliner. The negatives are MANY. The rooms are unbelievably small. The hotel rooms are not well kept. This really is a value resort with better access. I would not choose this resort again. The photos make the resort look much better than it is.
I stayed here because of the Skyliner - this was the only plus. The room is similar to a value category resort (e.g. Pop Century). For what Disney classified as moderate, there are better resorts. For what Disney charges and what you get, it is not worth it. The property is nice, but the room is dated. In terms of housekeeping service, there was none for 4 days. We had to call for housekeeping (2 adults and 2 kids) and what was cleaned was minimal. The front desk was very helpful - kudos to the friendly staff. The food was great - value-oriented. If you plan to stay here, try to stay in areas close to the Skyliner stations, a lot of walking if not. Another must-know is that there are no elevators if you stay on the second floor. I will not stay here again. There are better moderate and value resorts at DW.…
The resort itself is really nice. Nice pool, nice lobby and nice resort landscaping. The skynliner is a bonus. However for the prices you pay the rooms are below sub standard and very dated. The outside of them look like a chalet from Hi de Hi (british 80's sitcom). The interior isnt much better. Despite the positives mentioned above due to the poor quality of the outside and interior of the rooms I wont be staying there again (we atayed 6 nights).
This was never what we expected from a Disney vacation. My family and I have been going to Disney for many years and never experienced something like this. During our stay, we only saw a housekeeper 2 times during a 7 day stay. My fiance and I resorted to having to put garbage on the floor. I only got cleaning services after I called to complain and the staff member who picked up the phone was rude and seemed to be uncaring of our complaint. We were assured that we were going to be given a first floor room block where our families rooms would all be together and on the first floor to accommodate a medical issue for my mother. We ended up on the second floor of building 45, all spread apart with my sister's family being completely separated from us in building 46. We also made several requests for my mother's room and sister's room to be connected in order to allow my sister some assistance with her two year old daughter. This also did not occur. When we arrived, several of the rooms from our party were ready but my mother's room and my sister's rooms were not ready until much later in the day. This was an extreme inconvenience for my sister, forcing us to keep her two year old daughter in the park until we received confirmation that her room was ready only to find out that she would be completely separated from us. Next, transportation at this resort was awful. We experienced so many issues with transportation there are too many to count. We were attracted to the resort for the skyliner which was actually more inconvenient than convient. We fully understand the challenges that Florida weather presents to an elevated transport system but it was down more than it was up. The bus transportation was beyond terrible. The buses were so infrequent especially during rain or midday during the worst of the heat. The buses were always over crowded making them exceptionally unsafe and a breeding ground for COVID. Our best bus experiences were with the non disney transport buses running on 7/16 and the use of Lyft on property. On our 3rd night, after being stuck in rain, heat and an extremely crowded bus back to the hotel, our door reader went down. This was 11pm. I walked all the way to the front desk to be given a physical room key and was assured that this would fix my problems. I asked them to give me a phone number to call if this didn't work so I would not have to return to the front desk which they refused and instructed me to use a phone in the ice room in the building if I could not get in. To no surprise we could not get in. On top of all this the rooms were gross by Disney standards. Tons of dust, old carpets and the air conditioners didn’t work well in the heat of Florida. Woke up during the night sweating many times. I highly suggest considering other hotels or just staying off property. This place seriously lacks the magic of a Disney vacation.…
Room was average, located within walking distance of the Skyliner. No daily room service because of Covid procedures. Only 2 double beds, no king size. Bathroom and AC more than adequate. Very quiet secure location.
