The Ambassador Palm Beach Hotel & Residences is a property that receives mixed feedback regarding value; while many find it reasonably priced, others are less impressed. Cleanliness is generally praised, with spotless rooms and public spaces, though a few guests have encountered the opposite. Its prime beachfront location is consistently lauded, adding significantly to the enjoyment of stays. Staff members are often commended for their attentiveness, despite occasional hiccups in service.
Rooms are recognized for their spaciousness but critiqued for maintenance and dated aesthetics. The hotel's amenities, including a quiet pool and complimentary offerings, are popular, though some suggest they need updates. The atmosphere’s vintage charm and live entertainment are highlights, despite some dated elements in the decor.

Overall we had a very pleasant 7 night stay at this hotel. On the plus side - Our suite was huge and well furnished. The location on the beach was wonderful. The pool area was quiet and we never had to struggle to reserve a lounger. The staff was extremely pleasant and service oriented. A continental breakfast was included and the restaurant had a nice happy hour offered each day too. When our first suite had no AC in the bedroom we were offered a 2 Bedroom suite that was very nice, although we were disappointed that the covered patio was not accessible. We loved that the location was walkable to many nice restaurants. Wifi worked well throughout our stay. Our suite on the 5th floor was quiet and the AC worked just fine too.
On the negative side - the facilities are old and worn in many spots and management is probably struggling to stay competitive. For example, no fans in the bathroom and maybe the patio is damaged and that's why the slider was bolted shut. The breakfast was just okay and their coffee was horrible. Fortunately there was a coffee maker and supplies in our room to minimize the suffering. There was a big rusty pipe obliterating the view of the surf from the lower levels. That's probably due to surf changes that they can't control, but it's still a disappointment.

Even though the Ambassador is listed as a hotel, it isn't quite like a hotel in the traditional sense. Overall, it is in a good location, right on the beach, with easy access to downtown Palm Beach in one direction and Del Ray in the other direction, both via a delightful drive along the coast vs dealing with I95 and chaos. Our room was nice and spacious, with large balcony, good kitchen area with adequate dishware etc., although a roll of kitchen paper would have been nice (dish soap was later added); large enough bathroom and walk in closet. Bed was also good and also had a nice sitting area to have a bite to eat or watch TV. On the downside, in our opinion: window treatments are inadequate at blocking light and slats were missing; mold on shower curtain ugh! Extractor fan in bathroom extremely dusty, another ugh! Two area rugs were very stained ugh! Sheets were both of inferior quality and in dire need of replacement due to rough/pilling texture; bathroom sink could use some extra attention in cleaning; external elevator is also in dire need of a deep clean, another ugh! The description said renovated, but some of these external areas were either overlooked or are still on the list. The breakfast didn't offer much selection, but was adequate. No other food or drink services during the day until early evening - ie no bar or coffee services as in regular hotels.

We rented a studio and a one bedroom unit. Both were clean and well renovated. Mattress and pillows very comfortable. We had dinner on site ; good food, fast and smiling service. The hotel is not new but so well located, on the beach and near Palm Beach main sites of interest. Perhaps a few more breakfast items would be nice like hot breakfast sandwich or a substitut.

This was by far the worst experience I have had from start to finish. When pulling up you will notice that contrary to what their pictures show, the entire building is completely outdated and nothing works the way it should. I called ahead to request early check in, to which they assured me it would be not problem at all. When I tried the first time at 12 to check in they said the room was almost ready. When trying again at 2:30pm there was someone new at the desk who was a complete jerk and said that he didn’t know when it would be ready and that early check in is a request not a guarantee. When I tried to check in for the third time at 4:30pm (30 min after the hotels actual check in time) the room again was still not ready and we had to wait in the lobby for 15 min while they ran to check on it again. When we were finally able to go into the room it was just as run down as the rest of the facility. Thin blankets, hard pillows, hard mattress with no box springs. There is only one lock on the door no internal locks to make sure that no one from hotel staff could get into the room. There was a conjoining door to the room next to us that again had no internal lock to ensure no one had access to the room. The balcony would have been great to utilize, however both chairs were broken so we had nowhere to sit. We then tried the pool, which did not have any clean towels and most lounge chairs had either ripped fabric or were broken. The hotel restaurant is apparently not open on Mondays or Tuesdays which was not advertised. The chairs by the beach were scarce and everything was tattered and broken. I am unsure who this hotel paid for their photos to post on their website but I can assure you this hotel is a complete CATFISH!

We enjoyed a spacious recently renovated 2-bed/2-bath oceanfront apartment with a terrace overlooking the ocean. There is enough room for a family/friends of 4 to comfortably spread out and enjoy prime Palm Beach location at a reasonable price with convenient free parking. There is a simple continental breakfast included, but with a full kitchen, we were able to stock up on snacks from a nearby Publix. There are also a pool and gym on the premises. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

This was the most wonderful hotel experience. The staff was so very friendly upon arrival throughout our stay. Lindy was extremely personable. We received a mid-week booking special of a bottle of wine and Margherita pizza in their restaurant, The Ambassador Grill, which was also fantastic! We were given 10% off at the restaurant as well. The 2 room suite overlooked the ocean and intercoastal waterway. Just steps to the beach. Complimentary cabana chairs on the beach were supplied. The suite was so very spacious and clean. There are so many closets and a full kitchen. The large balcony gave us beautiful views of the sunrise and sunset. The Ambassador Grill has live entertainment on Saturday nights. Happy hour as well from like 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. I think. The breakfast staff is off the charts and accommodating. It is a simple continental breakfast but displayed nicely and very clean. We loved enjoying coffee and breakfast every morning and not have to go anywhere else. The hotel is nicely located and you can get to downtown WPB easily and quickly and also Jupiter as well. The historic Breakers Hotel is a short drive and a must see. It is stunning! The only issue we had is that the cleaning staff did not clean our room for a 5 day stay. We requested towels and etc each day which we were accommodated thinking any day that it wold be cleaned. I suppose we needed to request the room to be cleaned, just not sure. I highly recommend this hotel for a family as it has plenty of room and a full kitchen and steps to the beach. This is not a stuffy hotel. It has vintage charm and is a very lovely place to enjoy some time off. Thank you to the wonderful and friendly staff! You made our trip even better!

We will be sure to thank the team and all those noted including Lindy! We use your feedback to improve and apologize about the housekeeping., We normally provide housekeeping every third day or by request. We add to the welcome letter how that works. I will make sure the check in agents are asking everyone about the day they would like the service. again, we are so happy you had a nice time with us, its the reason we are here, to create memories that will last beyond your stay. The very first night I stayed here there was a giant roach in my room just walking around I was mortified!!! The hotel rooms do not have phones so I had to find the paper they gave me with the front desk number on it to call down to have me moved because I am not sleeping with roaches nor do I want to take them home with me ! it was after 11:30 at night and I had to gather all my stuff and move me and my special needs son to another room. When I got down to the front desk worker gave me a can of raid and sent me on my way! Also the room I booked I actually liked as it had a balcony and was more modernly designed , the room they gave me didn’t have a balcony and looked like an old apartment in Brooklyn the furniture was outdated and boring and I just felt like I was staying at someone’s house instead of on vacation. They could have put a little more effort into the aesthetic. The restaurant was nice but it is only open from wed to sat , which I stayed sat-tues so that sucked. But the staff was nice there . Overall I would not stay here again I’ve been to Florida countless times and I am aware of the bugs but I have never had one in my room with me if I could have got on a plane that night and went home I would have completely ruined my stay ! I hope they do a better job at exterminating!

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize and are disappointed that we did not deliver a positive experience for your stay. We have a nationally recognized extermination service in place. It sounds like we were able to change your room so a little confused about the spray can part if we changed the room. Florida has palmetto bugs that can come in from a balcony door and they fly. They are not considered roaches. Being surrounded by the nature of the beach and ocean can sometimes create challenges for us. We do our best to keep nature out. we apologize, again for your experience. We will use your feedback to improve and let our service know about what you saw. We hope you might give us another try in the future.

Do not book this hotel. The website is the most blatant case of false advertising I’ve ever seen. It’s advertised as a resort hotel, but it’s really a run-down motel that had no internal locks on the doors and felt borderline unsafe. We checked in after dark and were too tired to complain, so we just went up to our room, unlocked it…and nearly scared to death the poor woman who was already staying there. Yes, that’s right, they gave us the key to someone else’s room. The desk clerk barely apologized, just gave us the keys to another room that was thankfully empty. But that’s the only good thing I can say about it. It’s was a dingy apartment from the 50’s or 60’s that had been given the most basic of cosmetic upgrades. Think popcorn ceilings and those cheap vertical blinds that fall down if you look at them sideways. The “ocean view” was of the parking lot. The towels smelled like cigarette smoke and the water glasses had been wiped down with Windex (you could taste it). There was a used washcloth and bar of soap in the tub. As if that weren’t enough, my husband opened the closet door to find the dirtiest air filter on the face of the planet (picture attached). Outside, there was more strangeness like a random shopping cart in the hallway. I would expect more cleanliness from a Days Inn off the highway, but we paid $300 to stay here for one night. I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but people need to know. Seriously, book anywhere else.

My cousin and his wife were visiting and wanted to stay on the water. I found Ambassador which professed to have intracoastal and ocean views. When they arrived their room had no view - which I paid for. They did not want to tell us since we paid for the room. When i asked them to tell the truth they confessed. The place was old and dirty. The elevator smelled of urine. The shower control was so close to the wall that you cold not turn it on all the way. The paddle fan could not be turned on without the light. They literally had to take apart the fixture to turn off the light. The sofa smelled of animals. Believe me - it was a hellhole.

We live across the intra-coastal from Palm Beach and were having work done our house so needed to stay in a hotel for one night. Ambassador is 2 miles from our home so we booked it late in the afternoon and are so glad we did. Exterior is old Palm beach but our studio ended up being a 2 bed 2 bath apartment on the ocean. It was beautiful inside and completely updated. We were tired from home remodeling so ordered from the restaurant on site which is on the ocean as well and appetizers and entrees were delicious. Italian influenced cuisine. Ambassador will be our family overflow choice from now on.
