This hotel was such a disappointment. I only stayed here because my grandmother lives in a condo two doors down, and there wasn't enough room for my whole family to stay there. I feel bad for the people who actually make a vacation out of staying at this place. I don't know why they say the rooms are recently renovated, I'd hate to see them before! I am not very picky about where I sleep, I just expect it to be clean (especially for $150/night). The room was dingy, dark and the carpet was filthy. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, there was sand and hair still in the tub from the last guests! And there was hair all over the floor. One day, we went to the beach and got back to the room at 5pm, and it still hadn't been cleaned. The pool area is filled with drunk slobs with mullets and tattoos. Thank god I could go over to the pool and beach area at my grandmother's condo! For the price you pay, this hotel is one of the dirtiest I've ever stayed at.

Just like the title reads and a previous post. You want a $100 hotel that is exactly what you'll get at the Palm Beach Oceanfront (formally The Hawaiian Inn). If you want an Ocean front room DO NOT book thru online discount sites, because they will not accomodate. The motel has sustained hurricane damage which is still visible the weekend we stayed..ie holes in the roof exposing insulation. Our room did have a musty smell and it is true from a previous post the bathrooms are a nightmare! We found gum lodged in the corner of the shower window and what appeared to be mold/mildew growing in the tile.

The patio furniture could also use some sanding and fresh coat of paint or finish. The hotel bar/restuarant Tides is open until 9p and does the trick but slightly $$$.

Negatives: Clean the bathrooms and fix the exterior.Simple up keep would make this an awesome place to stay.

Positives: Location, close to Lake Ave shopping district and directly on the beach. Free Parking also is a plus.

I can't complain... but the TV picture was rather poor...at low tide there was about 20 feet of beach, at high tide - no beach,...one of the windows didn't lock. Then again, it was $100 a night. Hello! ..Palm Beach...$100 a night. No bugs, relatively clean floor, decent (fully functional) fixtures, good supply of towels, decent breakfast for $12 with tip (courteour waiter), nice simple little outside bar, nice little pool. Get the picture? If you want the "The Breakers" you can drive 9 miles north and pay at least $125 more per night (super group conference rate). And instead of free parking at the "I can't complain hotel", you will have the honor of paying $20 a day for valet parking. I met a friend for lunch one day. We both had a salad (1 cob salad, one with chicken and tuna) and a cup of coffee - with tip $56. Of course for $56 they validate your parking tag saving you $20. (2 salads, net cost $36. What a bargain). But, who's complaining? I choose a $100 a nite hotel, and I got a $100 a nite hotel. That seems fair doesn't it? If you've got the cash, definitely spend the money and stay at The Breakers. It really is a grand hotel. Over five nights I saved at least $625. To me, that's real money. And, when I came back from the conference each evening I parked right at my hotel room door; and it was free! And it was quiet, and it was decent, and the TV sucked - but I slept well knowing that I saved enough to fly both my wife and I from Buffalo, NY to Orlando, Fl this coming easter.

The Palm Beach Hawaiian Ocean Inn is now called the Palm Beach Ocean Front Inn. I now know why they changed their name. I truly regret that I didnt see your reviews of this place before I had the worst hotel experience of my lifetime. My husband and I have travelled the world over and have never been as disgusted as this. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and couldnt tell how dirty it was. After 1 hour in the room I looked at my socks and they were black! My husband and my Mother threw their socks away. I left mine with the manager to show him the problem. I doubt he will do anything. He never did a thing to help us during our stay. The 2 bedroom suites are poolside. What they dont tell you is this is also bar side. They actually have a speaker mounted on the room right outside your door. The music comes on at 7:30am and stays on constantly until 10:30 pm. I called the manager twice per day all three days to complain. He never turned down the music, even when the bar was empty! They knew we were travelling with a toddler. We had requested a crib. The crib was unusable. Good luck getting a toddler to sleep with music blaring! On Friday night they had a live band. I had to step over the amp to get out of my room. The band was literally 2 feet from my door. I requested to change rooms but the other rooms were standard hotel rooms. The room he offerred me was filthy and smelled awful. I was amazed at the level of total disregard the staff had for us. We were paying $200 per night. We had to suffer through those 3 nights. We couldnt find anywhere else in high season. Dont go to this place unless you are under 21 and love to party, dont mind filth, and arent of afraid of burly drunk men.

My 12 year old son and I went to PB to visit my parents, and we had a great time. I knew that I did not need a resort type hotel, so I booked the palm beach ocean front inn. I remembered seeing it last time I came and stayed at the 4 Seasons, for almost 4 times the price. My son and slept in one of the non ocean view rooms, because, to be VERY honest, why do I need a view when I'm fast asleep? Every morning we had breakfast at the "Grill" they have, which was awesome. The rooms were OKAY at best, but again, we didnt come to Palm Beach to spend time in a HOTEL ROOM. The beach was amazing, and we walked all the way to my parents condo from the hotel.
Service was awesome, and the one night we had dinner at the restaurant I was amazed. Awesome food, if I had known I wouldn't have gone to Cityplace (which is like 20 minutes away)
If you are looking for a Resort and to be spoiled because you can't survive on your own, save up some money and go to the Hilton. If you're looking for a place to lay your head at night, while you swim or enjoy the sun during the day, this is the place! AND make sure you have dinner at the restaurant at least once, you will be amazed!

We have found that hotel by expedia. We knew that the place got 3 stars, so we were ready for lower standard but what we saw was beyond our expectations.....speaking of view- all rooms had only one PARKING VIEW. First room was so smelly that we could not breath !!! The walls and ceiling were covered by fungus and mould. Not mentioning dirt everywhere and destroyed bathroom. We decided to change the room and got another one. The smell was less frustrating but we saw the mould and fungus was "hundred times "painted !!!! The bathroom was so dirty and destroyed that I can not imagine how the place could have got 3*!!!! We left the room and never be back again. My husband unfortunatelly paid for this disaster but we were sleeping in another place.

Let me start by saying the location is incredible. This hotel is right on the ocean front, not the inner coast. You are very close to night life, public beaches, shopping, and good restaraunts. The view from the Tides is incredible. I suggest the breakfast out on the patio next to the pool overlooking the ocean. The selection of food is adequate, the prices are average, and the food quality is superb. The nights are relaxing also. My hat goes off to the bar staff... First to Heidi (this is my future wife) She made my vacation, she works hard, pours a good drink and has a smile that I will always remember. She has this way about her... She will be a good wife. Because of her it was hard for me to leave. Second to Frank (this gur has a retired pimp hand.. Just ask him.) He only worked one night during our stay, this man is first class fun. He has a quick witt and is on top of his game ladies. Go get em Frank. Last but not least a hat off to Gloria (this is the smile that greets you at the bar in the morning) She serves a mean Strawbarry marguerita. No matter what may go wrong, she always has a friendly way about her. Thanks for some great memories guys. These are the people who absolutely made our weekend at the Tides. A special thanks also goes out to Peter, he is the bar manager... He and his wife (Also employed by the hotel) will go out of their way to accomodate you. Please don't show up expecting this place to allow you to excessively party and act silly. At the Tides, there is a professional, curteous, and above all safe atmosphere for families. The bar closes early to accomodate the guests staying close to the pool and bar area, Don't worry there is plenty to do around town. Another tip of the hat goes out to the wait staff of the restaraunt. The service there is first class.. they all take their jobs very seriously and will make sure everything is to your liking. People, Bottom line, this hotel in my opinion is half price. The rooms may not be fancy, nor (in my opinion) do they need to be. If you are like me, you didn't take a vacation to sit in your room. If you want a first class stay, in a first class area, at a third class price this is the best bet. I hope you have the same experience I did.
If you happen to book a room and visit, Please tell Heidi her St Louis Boys are doin o.k. Tell her to please pick out her wedding dress as I will be back in September

I stayed at the Palm Beach Oceanfront Inn for three days while visiting west palm beach for a covention. my freinds booked local area hotels like Hamptom inn, Marriot and Ramada. I figured i dont get to go to Florida often so if I am going down there I am staying on the beach for sure. so I looked for a hotel directly on the beach. To my surprise they were all 5 star resorts selling for $500/night and up. when I saw the listing at the Palm Beach Oceanfront Inn for $149 I was surprised. it was about the same price as the other hotels my freinds were staying at except they were in west palm and inland and this hotel was on the island and directly on the beach. So I had to check it out. Boy am I glad I did. It was like a Tommy Bahamma style motel, laid back nothing fancy but very comfortable very clean and right on the beach. so while my friends were in west palm beach having cereal for breakfast i was staying on the beach having delcious breakfast in the oceanfront restuarant every morning. So i turned my business convention trip into a mini vacation at this lovely beach resort. I feel so clever.....

I love scuba diving and fishing but afterwards, its nice to sit on a pool deck over the ocean. I have stayed at the Oceanfront Inn several times because of its location and low price. Its not a new place. The furniture isn't new either. There is no valet service and the rooms open to the outside, which is what I like. I don't enjoy the tenth or twentieth floor because its too far from my car or bike. I prefer the ability to escape a fire by opening the door, just imagine having to jump from the balcony!! I hate to see reviews, written by a bunch of spoiled people who obviously expect the Hilton at Motel6 prices. This place was built about 60 years ago, in an excellent spot. It has been through many storms, as well as renovations and updates. You aren't buying it and it will stay where it is, you can't take it with you. What do you expect for $50? I suggest you try it and if you don't like it, go somewhere else. The Hilton is not far but the price might scare you. I'm glad these old places still exist for people like me. I don't have to be pampered every minute or bowed to. I want a clean place to shower and sleep. This was it! Yes, you may hear the neighbors because of the layout. I opened the door and asked them to keep the volume down, no more noise.

I am currently staying at this hotel and it was disappointing from the moment I walked into the office. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and I appreciated her telling me upfront about everything that is wrong. But it was still unacceptable for the establishment to have so many limited things. First she told me that half of the hotel for some reason cannot get wifi, I needed it so she put me in a differernt room. Then she stated that the hotel currently does not have access to the beach. This was my sole reason of choosing this hotel, but luckily I can access the beach from a couple mins down the street. She also took the time to explain to me what was included in my vacation package, again which I really appreciated. They said I have free breakfast but watch what you order because the drinks are sold seperately, (which is stupid), and there are different breakfast meals and you only qualify for one. Not only that but there was a family patiently waiting and there was another employee, which I think was the manager, just standing there. Didn't even acknowledge that they needed to be helped but just kept staring, which is terrible customer service. I finally got to my room which was not as bad as what some other pictures portray but it still wasn't great either. This hotel either needs a huge renovation or just needs to tear it all down and start from scratch. The tv and furniture in the room are extremely out dated and for the way it looked, I could have been paying alot less and been happier at a motel 8. Such disappointment, I decided to check the ocean view at the top of the hill. It was absolutely goregous but the bar could use some sprucing up. The bartender, Kim was very pleasant and tended to all my needs and seems to know her guests very well.

At first I wasn't going to write a review, but I became so angry with the staff, I had to say something and warn people. I went back to the office to ask if there was any type of convinence store near by because I needed some things, like soap, shampoo, etc.. The same employee/ or manager who was staring said no, and didn't even offer to give me any of their complimentary tolietries. But not only that, I couldn't even call the front desk because the rooms have no phones!! I had to walk over to the office a second time to ask where the vending machines were because I needed some water. She informed me that there were no vending machines on site and the restuarant was already closed and there was nothing she could do for me. I am in utter shock that they can even run an establishment like this and to think that I have to be here for another two days is very frustrating. And not only that, I can hear people upstairs walking around, almost sounds like the ceiling is going to fall. Can also hear very clearly the people next door.

The only good in this hotel is the view, but it's useless if you cannot access the beach. I have yet to try their restaurant so I'm hoping that won't be a loss either. It was unfortunate that I did not realize what a terrible mistake I made by picking this hotel. After I had already booked my flight and room was when I saw the reviews on this site. I was hoping it would be better than what other's had described. Guess not.

Oh and i've seen at least 3 roaches crawling around the floor as I was typing this...
