PGA National Resort receives accolades for its cleanliness and the pristine condition of its rooms, pool, spa, and golf course. While rooms are recognized for being tidy and well-appointed, some guests have raised concerns over maintenance and outdated decor. Service reviews are polarized, with some guests commending the professionalism of the staff, while others encounter slow responses and report understaffing issues. The resort's amenities, including dining and the pool, are generally celebrated, though not without remarks on their hefty price tags. The hotel exudes a charming atmosphere, with its inviting architecture and live music, but many guests feel the cost does not match the overall value, pointing to extra charges.

Our family spent 3 days at this wonderful resort hotel. We never had to leave the facility which was great. Enjoyed the large pool facility, game room, spa, etc. The selection of food and drinks served at the pool was excellent. Breakfast at Birdie's diner and dinner at the Honeybell restaurant met our needs. The rooms are attractive and super clean. But most important was the friendly service of all the employees, especially the front desk staff. We will be back next year. Highly recommend this hotel for families, weddings and business meetings.

I booked a 2 bedroom cottage through the resort website. Nightly rates varied over the 5 night stay up to $1999 for Saturday night. The website shows beautifully renovated cottages described as "stunning Serena & Lily-designed cottages...designed in lacquered wood, tufted wool, glazed ceramics...handwoven rattan...the beds awash in cozy layered textiles." While the furniture was S&L this is where the resemblance ended. We had the original dingy tile floor throughout, master bath with original moldy, cracked vinyl shower surround, a toilet that would not flush (despite 2 calls for repairs), and terrible water pressure in the sink (I mean terrible). There were no layered textiles, decorative objects, wall hangings or decor as shown in the photos. The master closet door was off the hinges along with the screen door slider to the sad patio, complete with a moldy umbrella tied down with a random piece of red fabric. An empty beer bottle with remains of chewing tobacco in the front bush along with cigarette butts greeted us at the dilapidated entrance to the unit. I spoke with front desk and appreciated the assistance I received as well as a 20% discount off my stay; I returned to speak with the manager, as recommended by the front desk staff, who acknowledged that all the units are not the same but that updated kitchens and bathrooms are not necessarily important to everyone. At these prices I beg to differ. We enjoyed a few meals at the resort and found the waitstaff to be attentive and welcoming, food was tasty although pricey. Prices across the board did not seem commensurate with the offerings, golf included. And do note that as a guest of the resort you are not allowed to play tennis or pickleball aside from private lessons or the clinics offered (which were full when we arrived). Pool area is pretty along with the lobby bar. Perhaps the hotel rooms are more consistent as they tote the complete renovation they underwent but we do not plan to return.

Outstanding! The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Since this is a very dog friendly resort, I had no problems enjoying it with my dog. The lovely young woman at the front desk made certain that I had a room which accessed a large grassy area and it was perfect for navigating my walks with my dog. The valet staff were like family. They took care of my car as if it were their own and made it very easy for me to access it each time I left and returned. The restaurants were great. The lobby is beautiful and the swimming pool area is gorgeous. A friend came and visited me and the lobby was a wonderful area to enjoy a chat with my friend. The most important thing is that this is a very happy place. The staff are amazing. Thank you PGA for making your resort a home away from home!

I stay at this hotel because my father is a member of the community, so I really wish the experience would be better when the rates are so expensive. 5 star prices for sure, but not a 5 star stay:

Cost: Everything is overpriced and they add 20% gratuity automatically (even at the “market” for bottled drinks, snacks, and coffee) so no one working there has any incentive to provide great service. Oh and be careful of the “free breakfast” because it is actually just a $25 credit.

Rooms and Pool: The rooms are okay, but the decor somehow looks very dated even though they just redid it a few years ago. The pool area is very nice, but the towels are unbelievably cheap and thin, so you need at least four of them to even cover the lounge.

Service: My biggest issue with my most recent stay is with the pool waitstaff and the bartender (Brendan maybe? His arm was in a sling). I ordered a margarita without any extra sugar when I arrived at the pool. A bit later, my dad stopped by and we had lunch and I ordered a 2nd drink. When my dad got the tab for the lunch, I saw the drink was $30 because the bartender had poured top shelf tequila. I immediately closed out my own tab which was about $37 (one drink, tax, and auto 20% tip). After I walked away my dad says he asked this bartender about it, and the bartender said I had requested that tequila. You know, it’s one thing to pour expensive liquor in a MIXED drink without asking, but to then lie about it…. $74 for two drinks SMH
The next day I was wiser and when I ordered from the waiter walking around I specifically requested “well or house” tequila. He delivered my drink and never came back for two and a half hours. I guess I didn’t deserve any service because I wasn’t with a large group ordering a whole bunch of expensive drinks, like the people at the other end of the pool who did receive attention. I had to go find the guy to close my tab.
The girl who checked me out took the $37 charge from Saturday off my bill, thanks for that… but the whole thing was awkward and uncomfortable for no reason. And then to be ignored the next day by another employee… this visit put such a bad taste in my mouth.

Just to give credit where it is due: the housekeeping services were lovely and Angel at Honeybelle was too.

Positives: The room was nice. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable, nice balcony. Refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine. Excellent golf courses. Attractive resort, nice pool. Free self parking, plenty of spaces.

Negatives: Very expensive and they nickel and dime you. Everything costs extra and is way overpriced. Biggest problem is they seem to be understaffed. We made a reservation for dinner but were told when we got to the restaurant (which was mostly empty) it would be an hour wait as they did not have enough waitstaff. Trouble getting anyone on the phone to answer questions. Cleaning person did not fully close the door to my room, anyone could have come in! Terrible breach of security. Bellman misplaced my golf clubs, it took quite a hunt to find them. My room overlooked three beautiful pools but they were for the spa use only and massages and facials cost upwards of $200. And when I called for an appointment there were none available.

We are currently guests of the hotel and let me start by saying that I really want to love this place… The members of the staff are EXTREMELY polite, friendly and kind; we’ve really enjoyed interacting with them during our stay.

Our rooms left a lot to be desired for a “four star hotel” with recent renovations. The first room we were assigned two smelled musty, had unusual stains on the sheets, the corpse of a large mosquito on the wall, two large spiders and a layer of dust on the molding that it could be seen from the door. We were moved to another room that was a bit better however when I moved back the curtains to the balcony, I immediately noticed someone’s old coconut water bottle behind the curtain which tells me that it wasn’t cleaned completely. We left the bottle for the house keeper, in plain view, and when we returned it was still there… We were disappointed to say the least. We also noticed that the air conditioning units in the hallway steadily drip water which is problematic in a tropical climate…

The pool is beautiful but could certainly benefit from cleaning as cups were present at the bottom as well as a significant amount of dirt/grime.

Overall, I think this property may need a little more TLC and the cleaning staff need to be more thorough. This is not the worst hotel in the area but I can’t say that it’s the best or that I’d return without serious conversation.

The staff was amazing and attentive as soon as I stepped foot onto the property. I was welcomed by the helpful valet service. Guillermo helped my family with our bags to our room, and once we arrived to our room, he made sure to let us know important information about the resort’s restaurants and little details about our beautiful room. Jared at the concierge greeted us with a smile each day and helped my family have an easy check in experience. He was very kind and was dependable to ask about restaurants in the area or information about property. My family and I ate at Honeybelle one day for lunch and the food was some of the best I had ever had. Our waitress, Jen, was so polite and made delicious recommendations for us to try. The suggestions did not disappoint at all. The chicken sandwich was outstanding and the Honeybelle pie is a must have. If you go to the restaurant, be sure to try those!! Birdies is also a very tasty restaurant and the diner atmosphere that it is built on is beautifully done. The French toast is excellent. I also had a massage done at the spa, and it was truly amazing. The staff was showed me where everything was located and always made sure I was comfortable. My masseuse, Nicole, was extremely sweet and did an amazing job. The products that they use had beautiful scents, and I even ended up purchasing some after my massage because how great they were. I would highly recommend the massages. Overall the resort is definitely one of the best places to stay in palm beach and will allow you to have a relaxing, fun, delicious, and memorable experience.

Stunning resort, nice rooms, attentive staff, good restaurants, lovely pool area. A nice vacation, however, ridiculously expensive for everything! Unless you golf, there is little to do but swim & dine.

We had an iffy weather week with colder temps, and the pool was definitely not heated enough to the point of being uncomfortable. A request to turn up the temperature was ignored. Only the hot tub was usable on most days.

Evenings were boring. Nothing happening after dinner. They need more than a bar with recorded music. We had to go get our own bottles and sit somewhere on the grounds to drink and talk. At $20+ a drink, not an option to sit long at the bar.

Nice happy hour menu at the patio restaurant overlooking the pool, advertised throughout the resort, but when we sat down we had to ask for that menu and the waitress gave us attitude first wanting it. Twice from two different waitresses. Don’t offer it if you don’t want people to order from it.

Breakfast was a challenge when we didn’t have time to sit down. The Diner was delicious, but slow as the only sit down option. We got takeout from the coffee bar. $50+ for two burnt mediocre breakfast sandwiches & 2 pretty bad coffees is ridiculous.

Overall, stunning place for someone who golfs and does little else and can afford to keep spending extravagantly. Not recommended for families, or your average once per year vacationer. We were sad to leave only because the next few days would be in the 80s. We had our fill of the resort after 4 nights.

This hotel is tucked away surrounded by the golf course. There is nothing around the hotel that is within walking distance so once you are at the resort, it's all about the resort and you are at the mercy of the amenities and restaurants onsite. The pool is lovely, but it was closed for a private event one afternoon/evening of our stay. The lobby bar is social but I waited 10 minutes to get a drink despite the bar staff seemingly doing nothing. The service around at the pool is just as woeful. The Japanese restaurant is a must do. Such a unique dining experience. I might have considered returning to this hotel but for the fact the beds are SO UNCOMFORTABLE! For me this was a dealbreaker and somewhat like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. My back barely endured our 3 night stay. We were told by staff that the beds are an issue for many. So my question is...why have they done nothing to remedy the issue? To me it shows total lack of respect for guest comfort. This very expensive hotel can do better, however judging by the response to previous reviews they have no intention of doing so.
