PGA National Resort garners praise for its well-maintained golf course, private dining options, and a wide array of amenities, although some guests view the services as overpriced and have faced occasional issues with pool accessibility. The hotel's cleanliness is a highlight, with travelers consistently impressed by the immaculate condition of the rooms, pools, and spa.
However, the rooms receive mixed reviews; they are applauded for their spaciousness but criticized for comfort and maintenance issues. While the service quality varies, the resort's beautiful architecture and charming atmosphere are frequently celebrated, even though some guests question the overall value for money.

Detailed Reviews
I booked a 2 bedroom cottage through the resort website. Nightly rates varied over the 5 night stay up to $1999 for Saturday night. The website shows beautifully renovated cottages described as "stunning Serena & Lily-designed cottages...designed in lacquered wood, tufted wool, glazed ceramics...handwoven rattan...the beds awash in cozy layered textiles." While the furniture was S&L this is where the resemblance ended. We had the original dingy tile floor throughout, master bath with original moldy, cracked vinyl shower surround, a toilet that would not flush (despite 2 calls for repairs), and terrible water pressure in the sink (I mean terrible). There were no layered textiles, decorative objects, wall hangings or decor as shown in the photos. The master closet door was off the hinges along with the screen door slider to the sad patio, complete with a moldy umbrella tied down with a random piece of red fabric. An empty beer bottle with remains of chewing tobacco in the front bush along with cigarette butts greeted us at the dilapidated entrance to the unit. I spoke with front desk and appreciated the assistance I received as well as a 20% discount off my stay; I returned to speak with the manager, as recommended by the front desk staff, who acknowledged that all the units are not the same but that updated kitchens and bathrooms are not necessarily important to everyone. At these prices I beg to differ. We enjoyed a few meals at the resort and found the waitstaff to be attentive and welcoming, food was tasty although pricey. Prices across the board did not seem commensurate with the offerings, golf included. And do note that as a guest of the resort you are not allowed to play tennis or pickleball aside from private lessons or the clinics offered (which were full when we arrived). Pool area is pretty along with the lobby bar. Perhaps the hotel rooms are more consistent as they tote the complete renovation they underwent but we do not plan to return.

Positives: The room was nice. Spacious, well appointed, comfortable, nice balcony. Refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine. Excellent golf courses. Attractive resort, nice pool. Free self parking, plenty of spaces.
Negatives: Very expensive and they nickel and dime you. Everything costs extra and is way overpriced. Biggest problem is they seem to be understaffed. We made a reservation for dinner but were told when we got to the restaurant (which was mostly empty) it would be an hour wait as they did not have enough waitstaff. Trouble getting anyone on the phone to answer questions. Cleaning person did not fully close the door to my room, anyone could have come in! Terrible breach of security. Bellman misplaced my golf clubs, it took quite a hunt to find them. My room overlooked three beautiful pools but they were for the spa use only and massages and facials cost upwards of $200. And when I called for an appointment there were none available.

Our 9th stay as a group of 12 golfers over the past 20 years - PGA HAS IT ALL - great courses, great amenities, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, and the Pool bar service for a group lunch by the pool is the best! Our thanks to Justin for his detail to attention and friendly smile that reflects well on the attention to detail that the PGA resort is known for!!

We are currently guests of the hotel and let me start by saying that I really want to love this place… The members of the staff are EXTREMELY polite, friendly and kind; we’ve really enjoyed interacting with them during our stay.
Our rooms left a lot to be desired for a “four star hotel” with recent renovations. The first room we were assigned two smelled musty, had unusual stains on the sheets, the corpse of a large mosquito on the wall, two large spiders and a layer of dust on the molding that it could be seen from the door. We were moved to another room that was a bit better however when I moved back the curtains to the balcony, I immediately noticed someone’s old coconut water bottle behind the curtain which tells me that it wasn’t cleaned completely. We left the bottle for the house keeper, in plain view, and when we returned it was still there… We were disappointed to say the least. We also noticed that the air conditioning units in the hallway steadily drip water which is problematic in a tropical climate…
The pool is beautiful but could certainly benefit from cleaning as cups were present at the bottom as well as a significant amount of dirt/grime.
Overall, I think this property may need a little more TLC and the cleaning staff need to be more thorough. This is not the worst hotel in the area but I can’t say that it’s the best or that I’d return without serious conversation.

The staff was amazing and attentive as soon as I stepped foot onto the property. I was welcomed by the helpful valet service. Guillermo helped my family with our bags to our room, and once we arrived to our room, he made sure to let us know important information about the resort’s restaurants and little details about our beautiful room. Jared at the concierge greeted us with a smile each day and helped my family have an easy check in experience. He was very kind and was dependable to ask about restaurants in the area or information about property. My family and I ate at Honeybelle one day for lunch and the food was some of the best I had ever had. Our waitress, Jen, was so polite and made delicious recommendations for us to try. The suggestions did not disappoint at all. The chicken sandwich was outstanding and the Honeybelle pie is a must have. If you go to the restaurant, be sure to try those!! Birdies is also a very tasty restaurant and the diner atmosphere that it is built on is beautifully done. The French toast is excellent. I also had a massage done at the spa, and it was truly amazing. The staff was showed me where everything was located and always made sure I was comfortable. My masseuse, Nicole, was extremely sweet and did an amazing job. The products that they use had beautiful scents, and I even ended up purchasing some after my massage because how great they were. I would highly recommend the massages. Overall the resort is definitely one of the best places to stay in palm beach and will allow you to have a relaxing, fun, delicious, and memorable experience.

This hotel is tucked away surrounded by the golf course. There is nothing around the hotel that is within walking distance so once you are at the resort, it's all about the resort and you are at the mercy of the amenities and restaurants onsite. The pool is lovely, but it was closed for a private event one afternoon/evening of our stay. The lobby bar is social but I waited 10 minutes to get a drink despite the bar staff seemingly doing nothing. The service around at the pool is just as woeful. The Japanese restaurant is a must do. Such a unique dining experience. I might have considered returning to this hotel but for the fact the beds are SO UNCOMFORTABLE! For me this was a dealbreaker and somewhat like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. My back barely endured our 3 night stay. We were told by staff that the beds are an issue for many. So my question is...why have they done nothing to remedy the issue? To me it shows total lack of respect for guest comfort. This very expensive hotel can do better, however judging by the response to previous reviews they have no intention of doing so.

We checked in for two nights for a golf event.
First impression was nice and bright. Lobby looks retro chic and check in was a breeze...
Then we got to our room.
Bathroom layout is useless...especially if you're traveling with others (kids, spouse, etc).
There's NO closet space.
Room felt cramped and dark but the worse part was that we saw three cockroaches within 20 minutes of our arrival to the room.
They did change us to another room but we were still pretty annoyed with the inconvenience.
Again, this "new" room was dark and cramped and with no closet space.
The hotel is also FREEZING. The hallways feel like a meat locker and our room, despite the fact that we turned OFF our thermostat, was like the tundra.
I had to add our towels and robes to the kids' bed so they would warm up during the night. It was so uncomfortable.
There is service charge added for every single thing you eat or drink in the hotel. Even in the self-help part, they tack on the 20% charge.
I literally grabbed a bottle of water from a cooler and they added almost a dollar for tip.
It felt like a blatant way to milk the guest for more money.
This property could be amazing but unfortunately it still has a long way to go.
At this point, we will not be returning to this property despite the fact that we have many golf events in this area coming up.
Food at Honeybelle's was mediocre and the service was atrocious. We ate dinner twice and both times we left disappointed and hungry. Even the kids disliked their meal. The kid's pizza is a joke.

I did not, and wasted a week of vacation and thousands of dollars. Many regrets! This resort needed a full overhaul, but all they did was put lipstick on a pig. The resort was still dingy. The staff was not polished nor provide decent and sometime any service. (The valet staff was the one bright spot as they were helpful.) Rooms were not ready when we arrived. Front desk acted like they were doing us a favor. Rooms had code violations like disconnected smoke alarms and shoddy workmanship like shelves coming out of the wall. Rooms were not cleaned well if at all; we had to constantly call for towels. Restaurants were not always open; this was during a spring break week. Options were limited. The diner had seen better days. Birds were pooping all over the tables and food. Honeybelle that was supposedly recently renovated was filthy. Items from our room went missing. I booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. I have no idea why this hotel is part of the program; it's a two or three star hotel. Stay away!

Talk about an expensive place to hardly get any Golf in!
You spend a lot of hard earned money to find out during your stay the spa is closed, the restaurants are shut down, and most of the courses are closed!
You play on the Palmer only to get rained out half way through. You let the pro shop know and do not receive a rain check.
The next day you get through the chopped up Champion course. But, during your play you are sprayed with chemicals over and over again, so much maintenance going on that you cannot concentrate with all the work vehicles practically doing doughnuts around you at every turn. Then, you get behind people so slow that you cannot even finish your round of Golf before you have to go check out!
They do not even give you a washcloths to use during your stay or refill the toilet paper when they service your room/cottage!
How can you relax when you are always having to go to Publix and other stores across the street just to get by when you can even get a washcloth in a Motel 6, etc.?
There was hardly anyone there besides the usual members with all the remediation of the courses and property going on. No restaurants to eat at during your stay. When making the reservation for a special occasion MONTHS earlier this facility did not even have the courtesy to call us back and let us know they would be shut down from April 2021 until the end of the year and to schedule your special event somewhere else.
The courses we played on had overgrown grass on the Palmer course and so much sand on the Champion course that you might as well have just put on your swim shorts and planned a beach outing at the end of every hole!
A lot of dead grass on the Champion course to get your ball stuck in that you could hardly get a good swing during most of your play on that course.
A really bad stay to say the least as we should have just stayed home and played the well manicured municipal course close to home to celebrate a very special milestone birthday trip that was planned for well over a year.
Only to be COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED by the treatment of not only the conditions of the cottage, the Golf courses, etc.!!!

Nice place. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Nice golf courses.
BUT:
Golf courses very, very, expensive compared to other places to play in the area.
There is also a surprise and expensive "resort service fee" at the end which was unexpected given that the room was pre-paid.
