We did a 3 day holiday weekend staycation at PGA National Resort. When we arrived we were immediately met by Jared from concierge. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. We ate dinner at the Butcher's Club the first night and it was one of the best steakhouses we have been to. We also enjoyed Honeybelle and our breakfast at Birdie's both mornings. Luis, the food and beverage manager at the resort, provided excellent service and checked on us at both Honeybelle and Birdie's. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas on the golf course, which was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool at the hotel. My wife enjoyed her massage and I had fun playing on the Champions golf course. The hotel is in a great location with so many other restaurants and shops nearby on PGA Blvd. I definitely recommend the PGA National Resort for your next trip to Palm Beach, FL.

The staff was amazing and attentive as soon as I stepped foot onto the property. I was welcomed by the helpful valet service. Guillermo helped my family with our bags to our room, and once we arrived to our room, he made sure to let us know important information about the resort’s restaurants and little details about our beautiful room. Jared at the concierge greeted us with a smile each day and helped my family have an easy check in experience. He was very kind and was dependable to ask about restaurants in the area or information about property. My family and I ate at Honeybelle one day for lunch and the food was some of the best I had ever had. Our waitress, Jen, was so polite and made delicious recommendations for us to try. The suggestions did not disappoint at all. The chicken sandwich was outstanding and the Honeybelle pie is a must have. If you go to the restaurant, be sure to try those!! Birdies is also a very tasty restaurant and the diner atmosphere that it is built on is beautifully done. The French toast is excellent. I also had a massage done at the spa, and it was truly amazing. The staff was showed me where everything was located and always made sure I was comfortable. My masseuse, Nicole, was extremely sweet and did an amazing job. The products that they use had beautiful scents, and I even ended up purchasing some after my massage because how great they were. I would highly recommend the massages. Overall the resort is definitely one of the best places to stay in palm beach and will allow you to have a relaxing, fun, delicious, and memorable experience.

For a 4-start resort, this was a huge disappointment; actually it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel as a guest, and I have stayed at many luxury resorts. The golf course may be fine here -I can't speak to that - but the service and care shown by the front desk employees is terrible. Our family had 4 rooms reserved as we stayed here for an event for our niece. From check in to check out, there were problems- starting with assigning us rooms that were occupied by other guests, then reassigning rooms and making us wait over an hour to get into them because they were being "shown" to other guests. The front desk person , Nick, kept telling us our rooms would be ready in 5-10 minutes, and an hour later, while still waiting, he gave us cards for free drinks, which when we went to use them in the lobby bar, were told it only covered "house wines and house liquors" which added insult to injury! The tension we felt continued when we checked out - our host, another family member, had assured us our rooms and incidentals were all taken care in advance - he had called the hotel to confirm this. Upon check in we told the front desk this- but had to give our credit cards anyway -were told they would not be charged. And upon check out, we were told the charges were all taken care of. When I returned home, I checked my credit card -discovered I had been charged over $2000. I immediately called the hotel - got Cari Anne at front desk who first couldn't even confirm I stayed there - then finally found my name. She told me the charges were "pending" and would be "released by the hotel in 3-4 days." I told her this was not acceptable - I should not have been charged - she interrupted and in a loud, hostile tone told me there was nothing she could do-I had to wait for the charges to be taken off my card once the hotel released it and i could call accounting in the morning. No manager was available to talk to. I have On the positive side, the most courteous & professional employees were the valets, the housekeeping staff and the servers in the restaurants, which, by the way are all quite good. Unfortunately, first impressions stick, thus my poor rating.

We spent Mother's Day weekend (Fri-Sun) at the resort and the experience was far below the expectations set by our previous visit. GOOD: rooms are lovely, AC was quiet and cold, bathrooms perfect; Pool area is excellent, Gym is well equipped. The overall setting is beautiful. JUST OK: no coffee maker in the room? BAD: no staff, despite Mother's Day and large groups in for a local soccer tournament. Bar was abandoned and unstaffed for long stretches on a busy Friday night, and there was no service at all at the pool bar or in the outside deck areas. Cocktail selection was limited. The restaurants looked chintzy and dated; staff were overwhelmed and limiting access to accommodate the understaffed kitchen, leading to 45+ minute waits to be seated, 20+ minute waits for water and drinks, and hourlong waits for food despite the restaurant being half empty. Food itself was below par (e.g. frozen french fries, undercooked chicken) with tiny portions. Food service staff on the whole seemed disaffected, annoyed and unhappy. Staffing issues also caused: chronic towel shortages at the pool, poor service at the pool bar, huge lineups to get coffee from the one poor soul staffing the coffee / snack area. And unlike last time, there was zero food service outside of the restaurants, which were overwhelmed despite being mostly empty. To be clear, this is a HUGE contrast to our previous experience at this resort. The experience was so awful my wife decided to cancel having Mother's Day brunch at the resort and we went offsite instead. Overall the experience was very poor and we are unlikely to return. This is inexcusable for a resort that markets itself as a 5 star experience.

Your feedback is valuable as it helps us improve. We're glad our comfortable rooms and quiet AC added to your experience. However, we apologize for any issues with the food service throughout the property. As you know from previous visits, this is not the typical experience and does not meet the expectations we have for ourselves, even on a busy weekend. We'd appreciate the chance to discuss this with your further, and we hope you'll reach out to us at matthew.kiner@pgaresort.com. Please consider staying with us again should you be back in the area. Sincerely, Matthew Kiner Resort Manager

Let me start by saying how much I loved this spa. Me and my family and friends have been here atleast 5 times and loved it. However our last experience was sub par and I can honestly say that I will not be coming back here and it makes me sad. I came Mother’s Day weekend and prepaid online. When I arrived I gave them a spa finder gift card for 50$ and when we checked out it was a whole problem!! Even after I checked prior to coming, they claimed my gift card only had 30$ and not 50$. And rather than this being an easy fix it wasn’t. We had to stay to figurine it out well after closing. The “manager” did give us a 100$ gift card but how good is it if our experience was so negative that we don’t want to come back? Overall the staff (not inclusive of the bar and cleaning staff) was extremely rude and unprofessional and I will not be recommending this spa to any of my friends or family! And while I know that this may not change anything, the fact that we are people of color definitely worked against us.

Four of us went for a guys golf weekend. We booked a package that included a villa. Each one of us was disappointed with the weekend. We arrived late Saturday morning and were unable to check in, which we understood. We went to play golf and would be texted when the room was ready. Around 5:00 and still no text. We went to the front desk and the two women working were clueless. It was as if they were not working the check in desk at a hotel. Very strange. After about a half hour of standing there they "found" a villa that was clean. Just a bizarre ordeal. We were supposed to receive a $100 credit on our bill for the inconvenience which never appeared. The room was fine, very standard, nothing special. Almost every single employee we encountered seemed miserable. The lobby bar waitress, the golf bag guys, the bev cart girl, the front desk...no smiles, no eye contact, no nothing, just indifference. It felt very much like employee compensation and training is lacking. The golf experience was quite underwhelming. We arrived to total chaos with valet guys running around, cars backed up and just a sense of disorganization. No one so much as said hi and we had no idea what to do with our bags, etc. Our tee times were all wrong and we had to get our confirm email out to prove it. The Championship course was a let down. The course was not in the best shape, which was weird because the pro shop guy told us how great of shape the course was in. The trash cans were all overflowing, with trash strewn about. It was just a huge letdown in every aspect. Felt like a poorly run muni course. Overall the place just didn't have that high-end feel. Not even close. For the extremely high prices they charge they should be doing much, much better. If you are looking for a luxurious golf experience this is not the place. Trust me, skip it.

I did not, and wasted a week of vacation and thousands of dollars. Many regrets! This resort needed a full overhaul, but all they did was put lipstick on a pig. The resort was still dingy. The staff was not polished nor provide decent and sometime any service. (The valet staff was the one bright spot as they were helpful.) Rooms were not ready when we arrived. Front desk acted like they were doing us a favor. Rooms had code violations like disconnected smoke alarms and shoddy workmanship like shelves coming out of the wall. Rooms were not cleaned well if at all; we had to constantly call for towels. Restaurants were not always open; this was during a spring break week. Options were limited. The diner had seen better days. Birds were pooping all over the tables and food. Honeybelle that was supposedly recently renovated was filthy. Items from our room went missing. I booked through Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. I have no idea why this hotel is part of the program; it's a two or three star hotel. Stay away!

We prepaid for our room and golf. They charged us again for the room upon checkin after adding a card for incidentals. They also asked for payment again in the pro shop when checking in for the tee time. I feel like this is a tactic and not a one time incident. Prepare to have to dispute extra credit card charges.
