I really wanted to love this spa. I had heard good things before and was looking forward to a nice relaxing day. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. To begin, on a Saturday they were doing construction by the spa pool that was too loud to relax. Instead we went to the main pool where they were full, short on chairs, didn’t have towels readily available, and had a ton of kids. Bar service was slow and extremely overpriced. To top of off, my massage was mediocre at best. I can definitely say I will not be returning. There are plenty of better options in the county.

Its a lot about the golf and loving the sun. The resort is also very nice and kind of formal. The restaurant was fancy and we enjoyed it a lot. The hotel is not near the water so if beach is important its not the place. But there is a lot of great golf

I rarely write reviews, but I had time today. We booked four massage services ranging from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. I was told that their pool cafe, sauna/steam room is closed. However when we arrived they gave us a warm bottle of water and a granola bar since there are no drinks available for sale "Due to Covid". For drinks we would need to walk across the entire hotel past the lobby (over a 10 minute walk) When I get to the cafe, not only did they offer food and drinks to the golf players but they also had an outside tent bar for them. Cafe staff mentioned they can deliver food/drinks for an additional delivery fee- of course! The worse part, I finished w/my massage at 5:00 p.m. My family was waiting in the lobby (previously they were in the pool), staff told them pool closes at 4:30 p.m. and must go, "Due to Covid"- this was never disclosed or I would of never booked services. As soon as i finished my massage, staff asked me multiple times if I was done with my robe/towel- felt rushed to get dressed & leave (what if I wanted to use the showers after my massage?) I expressed my discontent to the front staff, they were very understanding/ friendly and issued a 20% refund- my issue is not with the staff, it's with the rules set "Due to Covid" that clearly doesn't affect other parts of the resort. Truthfully don't waste your money, the pool section is okay, furniture is average, no music plays in the pool. Turned a celebration into a not so enjoyable experience, which is very sad.

I organized a large golf group to stay and play 4 rounds of golf at PGA National Resort. Stayed and played at the resort 5 years ago and had a good experience. However, this time around the majority of the resort is under construction. The trip was planned and booked in November and December. Never once did the events coordinator mention that the resort was under construction or that the lobby bar and restaurant would be closed for the duration of our trip. This was the least of the issues unfortunately. Despite communicating weekly for months leading up to the trip, about half of our group ended up in accommodations that were different than what we had confirmed. 6 of the 24 in our group were put in golf cottages, located a mile from the resort. No heads up so our guys could rent cars, no resort shuttles to get the guys back and forth to the golf course. Guys checked in and were not told they would be put in the cottages, never called to get keys to their rooms, then when showing up at front desk that evening just sent on their way. When I asked the front desk manager why this was happening when 48 hours earlier she had personally assured me that my group would be in the resort, she got defensive and had an attitude. When I requested a meeting with resort management, the GM could not have cared less and in fact turned the entire situation around and incorrectly stated that the front desk manager had been threatened! While our group was not looking for any concessions, credits, or refunds, and would not accept any today if offered, the resort management offered none of the above and basically dismissed our inconvenience as if nothing wrong had taken place. Let's fast forward to today. 8 of the 24 golfers on the trip have had billing issues, including 3 of which that have still not been addressed or corrected by accounting more than a week after checkout. Calls to accounting and front desk have gone ignored. The events coordinator has communicated and tried to help as best as he can. The director of operations named Bill was also seemingly a genuine and caring person but the GM and front desk staff were an embarassment. I plan an annual golf trip and move locations around each year. I would have expected to visit PGA National again in a few years heading into the trip but after this experience there is ZERO CHANCE I will ever bring a group back. It is a shame as the golf courses were in good to great shape and the single location is hard to beat in regards to convenience. The pool and pool bar were also more than acceptable.

Dear ddb242424, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience during your most recent golf outing. I am very sorry that your experience was less than satisfactory. As you mentioned in your review, the resort is going through a transformation that upon completion will provide resort guests outstanding amenities including new restaurants with Celebrity Chefs, a fully renovated spa. enhanced luxurious rooms, and a re-imagined golf course. As a matter of fact, every facet of the resort will be upgraded resulting in an incredible experience for our guests. I can assure you the General Manager was very concerned regarding your group’s visit. As a matter of fact, he wanted to personally meet with you to come to resolve the issues at hand. While it was not originally anticipated that the part of the group would have to be moved to our spacious two bedroom cottages, under the circumstances that day it was decided by our operations team to make that decision. Your business is truly appreciated as well as your candor. Bill Horn, Resort Manager

None of this had to happen if the contact during reservations had been honest. What a horror. If you need more than this to make your decision, you are on your own. I felt bad for the employees as well. What a struggle every day must be by having disgruntled guests (not because of their contributions) complain. If they were not ready to have customers, DON’T HAVE CUSTOMERS! I have to recognize employees who went above and beyond their jobs, especially under these horrific conditions. Vanessa, Angel and Carlos at the temporary breakfast spot, were super. They made the best of a crap situation and did their best to make us feel wanted as a customer. Many kudos to all three of them. Only saving grace. Kara at front desk also did her best considering what she had to work with at this sad location. My error was giving it a chance and not turning around immediately upon checking in to room. Don’t go.
