Located at 19181 Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33), this unassuming home on 2 acres is a pearl in the oyster. Named Runaway Bay after the owners Jamaican roots it is a guest house extraordinaire. There are two tastefully decorated guest suites – a large one bedroom, full bathroom with kitchen/sitting room facilities on the main floor. In the basement is a fully functioning apartment with a sitting room with television and pull out sofa, two double bedrooms and a single bedroom of decent sized proportions, a full washroom, laundry room and an eat-in kitchen with full fridge, stove, microwave and table and chairs for 4. Entrance is at the rear through a large screened in porch with a large round table that would comfortably seat 6, loveseats and chairs is a great place to sit in the evening and early morning to read or have coffee.

Booked for a girl’s weekend the apartment held 5 women comfortably. All linens and towels are included.

The proprietor is a friendly, unassuming woman who also provides a hearty, home-cooked breakfast as part of the stay using produce from her own garden. This is a breakfast to be lingered over and savoured with coffee and juice while overlooking the backyard. She is well versed on area tourism and has plenty of information at the ready. Guests are permitted to join her in the back yard (weather permitting) for yoga in the morning.

Overlooking Pleasant Bay, the house is situated in a tranquil setting. Close to several wineries, especially Hillier, Casa Dea and Sandbanks, the house is a 10-minute drive to Wellington and 30 minutes for Picton and Sandbanks Provincial Park. It is a great place to use as a home base while touring Prince Edward County.

Just to be clear there is no access to Pleasant Bay for swimming. Also, if you are planning to party in Wellington or Bloomfield, you will need to appoint a designated driver to return home.

We absolutely loved it there, the darkness at night and the tranquility was very relaxing.

Runaway Bay guest house is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I stayed for 1 night at Valrie's . We were greeted with a warm smile and a bottle of wine . The property is newly renovated and spotlessly clean. Our hostess went overboard to make our stay memorable. Breakfast was abundant and absolutely delicious. The property is very well situated not far from most attractions. We have found a new home away from home.

Myself and three other girlfriends stayed at Runaway Bay for a weekend getaway to Prince Edward County in July. It was an incredible stay.

Shae, the hostess, was extremely kind and attentive, immediately making us feel welcome and comfortable. The unit we stayed in was extremely clean, open and bright, including a living area with a pull-out couch, a large bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed, and a large on-suite bathroom. The location is great - it is in close proximity to various vineyards (Sandbanks, Norman Hardie) and only about an 8 minute drive to Wellington.

After a day of wine tasting, we rested on the balcony of our unit, which has a beautiful view of a bay which connects to Lake Ontario. We headed into Wellington to the Drake Devonshire for dinner, where Shae even offered a ride (using our own vehicle) and pick-up afterwards so everyone could indulge and enjoy themselves. In the morning, we were provided a fresh breakfast with local Prince Edward County products. Shae even went as far as baking us a fresh cake that very morning.

Needless to say, I will be staying at the Runaway Bay Guest House during my next visit to Prince Edward County. It was an absolute pleasure. Thank you Shae for your amazing hospitality, it did not go unnoticed!

The greatest compliment I could give Valerie the owner is that if I ever ran an establishment like this I would want to be exactly the same as her in terms of hosting. Such a lovely warm welcome and the apartment was superb. Homely with wonderful little touches that made us regret only staying one night.

The location is a little out of town, so definitely a need for a car, but what a brilliant place to explore Prince Edward Island from. We cannot speak highly enough of the facilities and hospitality!!

Runaway Bay Bed and Breakfast is nestled away in the beautiful County of Prince Edward. The facility is modern with the warmth and all the comforts of home. The food and service are second to none. And you can’t help but to notice the attention paid to each detail. From having a perfect cup of coffee before breakfast on the veranda in the comfortable cushioned chairs, to watching the beautiful sunset with a glass of wine, you are guaranteed to leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and refreshed. A must stay.

Runaway Bay B&B Consecon; Sandwiched by an enormous front yard effectively landscaped and large undulating fruit treed backyard that is accessed to the Lake Pleasant Bay.
From the first encounter /greeting/welcome by the exuberant host Shae, you know you almost feel like you are home .Self contained accommodations , balcony/deck that in the morning affords a view of the lake and the wild birds that cavort there, in the evening , a quiet escape under the stars preferably with a drink of your choice . or join other quests on the larger covered deck with unobstructed sight lines.A late night or early morning walk around the property before bed is recommended.

Breakfast almost make you become an insomniac in anticipation--Imagine a 3 course b/fast unique to Runaway Bay B&B. feel free to join in the pre breakfast yoga with drums led by Shae in the backyard , attendance is optional.

My experience at Runaway, was fantastic, the host ,the accommodation, the aesthetics and of course the 3 course Runaway Bay Breakfast and complimentary Runaway Brownie parting gift. .Luv it Luv it, excellent , 5*****.

I visited Runaway Bay Guest House with some friends for a weekend and had a fabulous time. The pictures and descriptions advertised don't do this place justice at all! Our suite was spotless, spacious and filled with all the amenities from home.

The service was fabulous. Our hostess Shae, made us feel very welcome and she was always accommodating and attentive to our needs. Her fully, cooked breakfasts were delicious and were far more better than going to a restaurant!! She had lots of knowledge of the surrounding area and provided great suggestions for things to do during our stay.

This guest house is situated on 2 acres of land, which provided lots of privacy and quiet moments. I was extremely happy with our stay and would recommend this guest house highly. I plan on returning a few more times!!

Thanks Shae!!!!

When I got there, Valerie the owner was picking flowers in her garden. Very welcoming.
Then I saw the Bungalow and I wondered if I had done a mistake ... Once I entered my Deluxe Queen suite I was conquered. I would live there ! Clean- spongy towels, extra comfortable bed, quality bedsheets, fresh cut flowers , butiful terrasse !
Breakfast was to die for. I felt at the Ritz in my private suite - charming and talented chef , the food was out of this world , very balanced served in gold plated china... all this in the middle of nowhere :) Great expérience and great conversation with Valerie !

Ladies and gentlemen a destination you can only dream about. No ordinary B&B/Guest House. (Shae) Valerie greets you with a kind heart and a warm smile. Her guest are priority one! You are pampered, treated with great dignity and respect.

Oh the food (breakfasts)...Let me tell you about the food. Home made prepared with joy and tons of love. Flavours of the Carribean (you just know she's from Jamaica!), home grown spices and herbs from her garden. Fresh baked breads, local bakery and her own spin on Banana Bread. Fresh fruit. Local cheeses. Veggies. And when you thought breakfast was over BROWNIES!!!!!!!

You will never see breakfaast in the same light once you have experienced breakfast at Runaway Bay Guest House!
The accomodations are Superior. (My wife and I stayed in the Queen Suite on the main floor). A home away from home...nothing left out. Just-PERFECT.
This B&B/Guest House is an absolute Diamond-not in the rough-an actual Diamond.

If you have an opportunity to visit Prince Edward County dont hesitate to stay at Runaway Bay Guest House.

Not to far from North Beach Provincial Park (7 minutes). 5 minutes from many wineries.

Dont miss this gem! Valerie is the sweetest most genuine hostess you could ever encounter.
