What a wonderful property. If you're expecting Marriott or Hilton, this isn't it. But, if you want a place with character, charm, and the simpler times, this is it. The lodge has been around for quite a while but has been well maintained and kept current. The rooms are just right, not spacious but not cramped by any stretch. Air...

We recently had lunch at the Tarpon Lodge and the ONLY thing to know (other then it was terrific) is the location is waaaay out of the way. More in a moment. One recent afternoon just exploring, we decided to seek out the Tarpon Lodge. It is located on the Northwestern end of Pine Island and is close to...nothing. This...

Tarpon Lodge: The End of the Journey I just had a most pleasant experience. I took a little road trip to the west coast of Florida. I went to Chokoloskee, Everglades City, Naples and then I jumped all the way up to Bokeelia on Pine Island. It is this last part of my journey that I want to talk about....

This restaurant is on a narrow road on the northwest side of Pine Island in a historical Native American Calusa mound-building area called Pineland. The grounds are manicured and the restaurant is on the elegant side with a white Hemingway-esque feel. Yet it's not very expensive at all for lunch. Across the well-maintained lawn is the bay with docks for...

My husband and I are new to the area and were exploring Pine Island when we stumbled across the Tarpon Lodge around lunch time. We were seated on the enclosed veranda and enjoyed a marvelous relaxed lunch with a view of the water. I had a cup of corn/crab chowder and wished I'd ordered a bowl it was so good!...

I have lived in Palm Beach County Florida for 56 years and never knew this hidden treasure was just across the state. The lodge was originally built in 1926 and I was lucky enough to have a room in the original structure. My bed was very comfortable and I loved the hardwood floors and original woodwork. The restaurant is easily...

Yes you can drive to Tarpon Lodge on Pine Island, that's not the best way to arrive. The boat ride to the lodge is superb. Once there your quickly realise this is one of the better places to eat on the Waterside. It's proper service where the food is presented immaculately.

We traveled to Pineland to have lunch at Tarpon Lodge. We each had something different for lunch and every item was very good. The blue crab and corn chowder was wonderful and should be a taste treat fro everyone. Tarpon Lodge cheese burger was juicy and tasty; just what you want a burger to taste like. Fresh fish was cooked...

Everything went wrong during our visit: We did not get the table we reserved on the deck but inside, after our order was taken there were not more scallops left, suddenly also no more shrimps so i was stuck with something i didn't like at all, chicken with crab??? I thought the salad was a starter but we had to...

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your recent dining experience with us. While our popular scallop dishes are offered each evening while supplies last the waitress should have known how many orders we had remaining when she was at the table taking your order. We apologize that this was not the case. We do have an upgrade charge...

This old-time Florida property was gracious and the restaurant service done very nicely. The vegan offerings could have included a pasta dish had I given them warning a day or two in advance. They offered to do a grilled vegetable dish, but I opted for the Pine Island Sound Salad which contained spring mix greens, cucumber, red onion, grape tomatoes, Kalamata...
