Welcome to The Native Sun, a 35 unit family oriented resort located ocean front in a quiet residential area of Pompano Beach/Lauderdale by the Sea. The resort is only a short walk away from fine dining, shopping and area attractions. The Native Sun is situated on more than 500 feet of white sandy beach. Comfortable lounge chairs are located right on the beach. They allow you to leisurely soak in the warm South Florida sun. Swim in the heated pool, unwind in the hot tub, or refresh yourself in the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Take a romantic stroll along the beach. If you feel energetic, you can play tennis or pickle ball on the practice court or take it slower and enjoy the putting green or shuffle board courts. If you haven’t had enough fresh air for the day, you can always have a barbecue and invite your neighbors.

From the minute we walked into the resort we were welcomed like family. The staff were very attentive and went the extra mile to place us in a room that met every expectation.
The resort was very clean and the apartment that we stayed in was light, spacious, and met every requirement. The rooms were large with a double width balcony (wider than we have experienced in other resorts). There was easily enough room for 4 large full length sunbeds (although I believe 2 are supplied as standard with two small coffee tables and 4 chairs)
The separate bedroom had not only a king size bed but a queen size sofa bed. Both the bedroom and the lounge had TV. The kitchen was fully stocked and had a microwave, cooker, dishwashing machine etc. We could have come straight from home with a toothbrush and clothes and everything else was supplied.
The resort is on the beach and beach chairs are supplied along with sun umbrellas. The staff are also happy to suggest restaurants and help where needed.
It is possible to walk to both Publix supermarket and also to the strip of shops and bars, although it is preferable to either use the bus service, taxi or drive. There is plenty of parking on the resort although it is essential to obtain a parking permit from reception. There is plenty to do on the resort including tennis, mini golf, shuffleboard, and bbq options. There is also a lovely swimming pool that is warm. Equally their is the beach.
Pompano has plenty of bars and restaurants and their are some lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance for those who are able at Lauderdale by the Seam it is also well located for travelling to other parts of Florida.
All in all, this is a great, friendly and helpful resort, with staff who look to ensure that patrons are always happy.

Our kitchen and appliances were new. The room was “freshened up” a few times during the week with new towels, trash taken out, etc. The king size bed was comfortable. Beach chairs were available for use, which was great since we flew there. The view from the balcony was great!!

This has been my home away from home for over 40 years. Since I was a baby. I legit travel all over the world for work and there is nowhere I’d rather be than here.

When I bring friends here, their mind is blown because it’s so affordable and literally steps from the ocean. You don’t have to walk through some silly resort to access all your favorite amenities. It isn’t a giant condo building with a maze of walkways.

Is it dated? Yes, a little, but it’s clean and charming. And actually I adore the old school decor. It makes it feel like I’m living an upscale “Golden Girl” dream. There are HUGE glass sliding hurricane doors that open to the ocean breeze. Giant patios, outdoor pool, hot tub, brand new shuffle board, tennis courts, putting green…and my favorite….gas grills 2 steps from the sand.

I have a full kitchen with an open floor plan so I can cook and chat with the fam out on the balcony or on the couch. My bedroom has a pullout sofa (along with the pullout in the front room) so you can separate into two living spaces.

The staff is incredible. I love Jerri and the girls up front and Annette has been a staple since I was little. Everyone is so helpful. Got a maintenance issue? They are on it.

You will not find a place like this around. I am kind of grateful the marketing has been low key because this 100 percent is my happy place. If you stumbled on it, good for you. Welcome. ❤️ shhhhh.

We have been coming to the Native sun for over 20 years and I am so horrified by the new management of this building. The owners of the timeshare units should be very concerned. I confirmed the room I needed multiple times and was given a completely different room that is not big enough for my family. We arrived and our unit had not been cleaned despite arriving a day later than we had paid for. Rooms are not being cleaned properly, they do not respond to emails or know what to do on the phone. The beach front is as beautiful as ever but the management has totally ruined this vacation. I am so disappointed. We will no longer be coming to a place that has always been a part of our family.

Our week long stay at the Native Sun Resort was absolutely wonderful. The room was perfect for the three of us (the couch was a comfortable pullout), the staff were so kind and helpful whenever we needed anything, and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, as well as watching the sunrise on the beach every morning! I would definitely stay again!

Excellent location right on the beach. Stayed during Labor Day weekend and the weekdays following booked through AFVC. Rooms are adequate but very dated. Bed had old sqeaky box springs and the kids stayed on the pull out sofa mattress, removed from the sofa for better comfort. Kitchen was adequately furnished with dishes and utensels but had to buy coffee and filters and condiments. All indoor lights were wired with cheap extension cords. Balcony lights come on at 8pm and light up the whole living room and bedroom. We removed the bulbs after the first night so we could sleep. The pool was the best thing on the property, however, it was only open from 10am and closed at 4pm. It would've been nice to be able to drink coffee by the pool or to swim or converse with other guests in the evening while the balcony lights keep you up, but that must not be allowed. Outdoor grills were well kept and adequate but could be a bit closer. The putt-putt golf, shuffleboard, and tennis court are there and seem to be functional but nobody used them. It served its purpose at night and between beach adventures, and it was a good price from AFVC during the off-season.

This is more of an old style resort, but really well maintained and in good order. Our apartment was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Maggie on the desk was really friendly and welcoming, rare qualities these days. Great location right on the beach, and the beach chairs were free to guests (not the case at some of the more prestigious resorts!)
We would love to return in the future.

The one bedroom I had was poolside. Bldg was right on the beach, short walk to the beach, beach lounge chairs set out for guests with grass umbrellas , unit was clean, internet connect was very good and easy to connect to and was not bumped off. Furniture was a little dated, but very comfortable, even had a nice recliner for me. Great kitchen. 2 full bathrooms in one bedroom unit was great. King size bed in master. Close to Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, Pompano Beach for shopping. Washing & Driers on site. No gym that I was aware of, otherwise would have given it excellent. Stayed in unit 114 I believe. Landscape was nice and maintained. I would stay again definitely or recommend to friends and family.

Right on the beach. They provide lawn chairs to drag closer to the water. Calm and clear ocean. Great for swimming. Good parking on site. Safe and secure. Lots of families with children enjoying themselves. Mattress needs to be replaced and had a few other maintenance issues to be addressed. Management informed. Quiet nights.

This resort is right on the beach, which makes this resort great. The units themselves are a little outdated. The furniture is uncomfortable and old The units are very clean and all precautions are met due to COVID. The bathroom tub might be difficult for seniors with knee problems or balance issues. The kitchen is stocked but needs to have some items updated ( steak knives, carving knife). Electric outlets are a challenge, you might want to bring extension cords for charging phones, tablets, etc..
All in all, a great place, with great staff.

We were at the resort over the holidays so the hours were sometimes changed. I'm not positive. I think Monday to Friday it was 9 to 8. Weekends it closed at 6. Again I have to say I'm not positive.

same as above. towels are fresh in your unit. Pool towels are given as you register. Unit is cleaned mid week when unit towels are changed but either those or pool towels can be changed any time by going to the front desk
