I wish there was a "Good" option versus "Very Good" or "Average" being my choices. First the good things about my studio unit stay. The resort is lovely, right on the ocean. My studio unit even had the ocean view, while units most cannot. The studios really could sleep 4 as the sofa opens into a bed as well as the Murphy bed that pulls down from the wall, but I had no reason to try it on a solo trip. The kitchen is complete and fully equipped, with a dining area that seats four. I also had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea with a couple of chairs and one lounger. There are two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. There's one outdoor hot tub near a "tiki hut" area for outdoor celebrations, and one larger indoor hot tub. There are a couple of grilling and outdoor picnic areas. I felt perfectly safe at all times on property and in the neighborhood. Now the one negative thing: My unit's heater didn't work. It became uncommonly cold during my stay from 1/18 to 1/25/25. As I said, this is uncommon, so maybe they shouldn't be faulted for the fact the heater in Room 422 Tower Building did not function? It may have been years since anyone even tried to use it. It kept getting colder as my week progressed, I didn't notice the heat didn't work until the last two nights of my stay and didn't want to be bothered with moving elsewhere or having a mechanic in the room trying to fix it, so no, I didn't report it during the stay. I am sure it is rare anyone even tries to use their heaters in Pompano Beach, the A/C was on and was needed when I first checked in! Just suggesting that periodically La Costa should check that not only the A/C, but also the heaters, both work. It was in the 50s a portion of this stay and heat would have been very much appreciated! One other little negative - it's a "Beach Club" but offers no on-beach amenities for free. You have to rent a beach lounger and umbrella or bring your own. It was too chilly for me to want to swim in a pool or the ocean, so only enjoyed the hot tubs this stay. It is NOT dog friendly, so if you see my service dog in photos don't be mislead into thinking you can bring your pet.

My husband and I were here for a long weekend and I chose it based on it was on the beach. It is an older property but well maintained. We had to wait a few minutes to check in as we did arrive early, around noon, but were able to go right to our room. Our one bedroom unit was big enough for the 2 of us. As you enter you walk thru the sitting area that consists of a couch and a chair placed against the wall with a coffee table and end table. The flat screen TV sits on a cabinet in the window next to the door. There is a round table with 3 chairs in the eat in L-shaped kitchen, which has been remodeled. It had stainless appliances, granite countertops and beautiful blue and green glass tiles that reminded you that you are at the beach. The bathroom is small but also updated with granite counter, single vanity and shower. Towels are white and fairly fluffy. There are separate striped towels for the pool/beach. Our king bed was comfortable and there are 2 small closets in the room. Also another flat screen TV on a cabinet sitting between the 2 closets. I was told there was remodeling going on but we didn't see or hear any of it. There are 2 outdoor pools and a nice lounge area by 1 of the hot tubs that also had a grill area. It's a short walk on to the beach. Our room was on the 3rd floor near the stairs by one of the pools, so we had a nice view of it from the room. Our room did not have a balcony, which we missed as we like to sit out and have our morning coffee or enjoy a sunrise/sunset. We possibly would stay again as we did have a nice time for a weekend visit.

I want to say, first of all, thank you for the room with a view. That certainly made a difference, but unfortunately we did not find the service to be as nice. It is true that the rooms need renovating and the beach has a lot of seaweed. There are also a lot of restaurants to visit in the area. Our problem was specifically with the front desk personnel and the unfriendly signs. We are owners so we do not need to be reminded that if we lose our wrist band or don't return a towel there will be a $25 charge. Upon checking in we asked for a parking pass (just in case) someone would want to visit us. The front desk personnel said she would give us a parking pass tomorrow once our guest arrived. The next day she said, "Sorry there are no parking passes available." There were clearly many empty spaces, but she refused to give us a parking pass. Why didn't she tell us the day before when we asked? We certainly would not have invited anyone over. Our guest had to pay $32 for parking. After they left (about 8 pm) there were still many parking spots available. The room has an awkward shower and awkward hallway where clearly no one who is handicapped can fit. Yet, they have a handicap toilet and the handicap rail in the shower making it even tinier. The pools were not clean. The floor around the indoor pool was dirty. I am not sure if they even offer free lawn chairs because we were not given any information about what they have to offer. They charge $150 deposit upfront and have many rules, but they are honestly unfriendly. The only person who was friendly and helpful was the security guard who helped us open the gate (which gets stuck for everyone). I will not stay here again, and I do not recommend this resort.

We were so anticipating this Capital Vacation Beach Club Resort get away. Information provided by CV made it sound like a very nice beach resort. What we walked into was a nothing like it's description.

Three stars are stretching it alot. Reception felt like a pay by hour as seen on TV. Room dated, some paint and new dinnerware doesn't make it a resort. Murphy bed had excessive screws and brackets holding it together were it had been severely damaged before. Mattress was extremely cheap and uncomfortable. Pillows cheap and hard. Cleanliness was sub standard. Upon arrival, i saw the kitchen sink backed up with suds. When i check it i found burnt food scraping clogging drain. I quickly cleaned drain and sink before wife saw it. Went to heat up some pizza and found cookie sheet in oven, dirty and greasy from previous folk,. Closet sliding door was off track. Room layout was poor. No nite table beside bed, no end table beside couch, useless foot stool on chair, had wheels on it letting it roll away everytime you used it. View from balcony was the best feature of this whole resort and location, view from inside through windows poor, window ledge above eye view when sitting down.

No bar, no restaurant, no published resort events, poor parking late week and weekend.

Security was a laugh, nite person had her nose stuck in her phone every time we saw her. Locks on gates up front via keycard, unlimited access from beach gates (no locks).
Inside pool is actually a covered pool, hot tub there was out of service. Elevator was extremely slow. Again, what a big disappointment Capital Vacations "Resorts" has proven to be.

Be very careful what unit you are assigned ... some are extremely small, some are on 2nd floor with no elevator, and some are townhouse style with 2 floors. Older property, mediocre furnishings, difficult parking. It does have direct Beach access, is conveniently located, well maintained grounds, safely secured from outside access.

We live within 30 minutes of this hotel, but since the prices were very reasonable, we booked a room for 5 nights in order to visit family members who were staying from Georgia. We had a 2 story room/condo with everything we needed (kitchen and sofa bed downstairs and bedroom upstairs. There was a bathroom and shower upstairs and another bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was fully stocked and included a dishwasher. Our family was in the next building, but just a short walk to their place. The staff was very accommodating and everything was convenient. There are three pools and two hot tubs. One pool and huge hot tub was indoors. We enjoyed the ping pong table and the beach was right there. The place was spotless and very quiet. We will recommend this hotel whenever we have family and friends coming from out of town.

The resort location right on the beach was great, but we really lucked out that our unit had a nice size balcony with a table and 4 chairs overlooking the ocean and the kiteboarding area of the beach. It seems there are many units in the 2 and 3 story buildings that don’t overlook the beach or have private balconies, so we were thrilled that ours did. We were impressed that the unit didn’t smell mildewed the way things often do on the beach. We were disappointed that the outdoor hot tub wasn’t wotking all week. There is an indoor hot tub that was working, but it is not as inviting. We enjoyed walking in both directions on the beach - to the lighthouse and to the pier. Being in Pompano served our purpose of being in Florida to visit friends and family both north and south of there.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Our resort has both ocean view units and pool view units. The pool view units do not have an oceanfront balcony. In regards to the hot tub, I do apologize for that inconvenience. We were aware of the situation and myself and the pool company were working diligently to get the part needed, it took a little longer than we hoped as a lot of parts and items are difficult to get at this time unfortunately. We do hope you come back again soon.

First off, I am not sure how this resort got the four out of five stars other than the beach proximity and the beach itself is amazing. The resort itself is run down, and in serious need of updating. The room I booked was supposed to have an ocean view and private balcony. When I got there they said "sorry, we don't have one available." How is that possible when I booked it specifically for that reason and received confirmation that my room contained those two items. The resort staff did nothing to remedy the situation other than blame it on the reservation staff. To me, this is unacceptable when I have a confirmation of what I reserved.
There were no elevators to our room (apparently only the towers have elevators) and we were not aware of this until we got there, so beware if you have difficulty with stairs. Pools were in serious need of upkeep, more than just daily cleaning, etc. Hot tub was full of sand and low on water.
The rooms were old, musty and cheaply furnished. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, bathrooms were small but did have good water pressure. The smart tvs were not hooked to the internet and that function was disabled so you could not even connect to your own personal hot spot. Walls were thin, you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you and above you. There was nothing that made this resort desirable to stay at other than the beach.
The good part of this resort is the beach itself. It sits on the beach and is private so it was never crowded. In fact there were times I could count the number of people on the beach on one hand. For a place that has no additional rooms available, where was everyone?? Pools were empty as was the beach most days. I will also say that the security guard was very nice as the other staff did not speak nor acknowledge you unless you specifically addressed them.
I would not go back to this resort. I did read the poor reviews prior to staying there, and was not expecting a 5 star or even a 4 star, but having a private balcony with an ocean view would have made up for cheap furniture, etc. The fact that they did not even try to accommodate what I had paid for was very disappointing and to hear that other people have had the same issue ( as stated from the front office) speaks very loudly.

We stayed in a beach front condo. La Costa is a nice beach resort that is well maintained and has a very good staff. I had an issue with the room lock that required a digital reset and the response was prompt. Our room had a nice balcony and view of the ocean. I expected a king size type bed but the only beds were a Murphy and sofa with not so comfy mattresses. It wasn't so bad and other than that the room was fine. There was a nearby beach grill that was excellent.

However, I was highly disappointed with the beach and the ocean water. I haven't been to this area in a long time and I expected beautiful ocean water. Instead, there was ugly sawgrass or red seaweed everywhere in the water and washed up on the beach. You step through it to get to the water and then it's everywhere in the water. This made the water ugly and swimming/floating very unpleasant. It would get all over you. When I spoke to locals and googled, I found out that this is not the exception but very normal now. Sad to see what happened to the Florida beaches. My home state of NJ actually has far nicer beaches and ocean water now than this region does, at least when the sea weed is here.. Second- there were areas of the small resort beach blocked off for Sea turtle eggs. This was fine but be advised that you could not use the balcony light or any lights on the beach during the night hours. Third - I expected a quiet private beach and instead they had
scheduled organized children's groups to use the beach just a few feet from where my expensive rental umbrella/chairs were placed.

For these reasons, I will not return to this area for a beach vacation.

Disappointing accommodations and in serious need of updating/remodeling especially compared to other hotels/beach clubs in the surrounding area. There was a moldy smell when using the AC units and despite being beachfront, there are no balconies on the first and second floors, you'll have to walk around the property but there are 3 pools available. Standard amenities were available, laundry site and a full kitchen but there were no utensils in any of the drawers...only pots, plates, glassware etc. We checked in late because our flight was delayed, but Security Guard Ralph was most accommodating, welcoming & helpful. The plus side, the beach offers tranquil views for a most relaxing vibe. Other than that, I would not return to this property.

The office is open early in the morning, not sure of the exact time. But usual check in is either 3 or 4 pm in the afternoon, as the cleaning staff needs time to clean the rooms, wash the bedding and towels, etc. Sometimes you can get checked in a bit early, but not usually. I have heard of them checking guests in, and allowing to use the facilities on site, such as the pools or beach. Once you're checked in, you will get a parking pass. You may need to leave your luggage in the car, but there are large bathrooms/spa areas that you could change if you so desired, or go explore the area. Lots to see and do. Make a point of visiting the Naughty Dog restaurant and Marina, and the restaurant in the timeshare building next door to the South. The food is great, and the office will give you a 10% off coupon for your dinner. Enjoy.
