From the moment I called to make a reservation to the moment we left after nine glorious nights at this magnificent resort. my husband and I were treated like royalty and were welcomed with warmth and kindness. Even before we arrived, all of our questions were answered and our special requests were addressed by the wonderful, Shaun O'Donnell, the Director of the Resort's Operations. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Graham Elwood, the Front Office Manager and his colleagues. It was such a lovely way to be welcomed after travelling quite a distance.
We stayed in the exquisite superior oceanfront suite with a large and comfortable porch overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The master bedroom with its luxurious king size bed and highest quality bed linens provided the perfect restful and peaceful night's sleep. From our porch, we saw ospreys and bald eagles fishing. We saw brown pelicans and American White pelicans and pods of dolphins frolicking in the ocean. Watching the evolving pinks, reds and purples of the sunrises each morning was breathtaking and inspirational!
The kitchen included everything we needed for our stay - a full size refrigerator with different ice and chilled water options, a microwave, a dishwasher, and ample counter and cabinet space. When we requested any additional items like champagne glasses, they were promptly provided.
When we ordered room service, the food was delicious and was served with a white linen tablecloth and beautiful silverware, plates and glassware. It arrived hot and with all of the needed accompaniments.
The resort's signature restaurant, The Seahorse Grille, served gourmet food in a beautiful room overlooking the ocean. The service was impeccable, and we want to particularly thank our amazing, welcoming Hostess, Jianna, our attentive and professional servers Nicole and Thomas and the insightful Matt who was our knowledgeable sommelier. We had grilled oysters, broiled red snapper, with peas and artichoke hearts. Even their bread was not an afterthought - we could choose from grilled bread or simply delicious warm bread right out of the oven. In addition to our dinners at the Grille, we also had their extraordinary Sunday Brunch, which includes every possible Brunch food from homemade jellies and salsas to shrimp, crab claws, yummy fish spread, smoked salmon, egg dishes and roast beef, sausages and bacon.
Thanks so much to massage therapist Amber for her provision of my Pink Himalayan Stone Massage at The Spa – it was so healing and calming…It was truly an immersive experience including aromatherapy and tranquil, soft music.
We are so grateful for all of the professional, experienced Ponte Vedra Inn Staff Members for taking such wonderful care of us!

We have stayed at this lovely hotel many times over the past 20 years. This year we did a short family vacation with 3 rooms. Being able to step out of your room almost on the beach is a luxury in itself. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. Because of the virus, coffee makers were removed from the room and there was no maid service. This was the only drawback as much sand is brought into the rooms and patio area from the beach. Also, having to put your trash out by your door is a nuisance. Clean towels are delivered to your room and dirty ones put by the door. Not sure if this is still the policy. I requested a broom to sweep the patios of our rooms. All in all a lovely place.

This was our third stay in the last year. The Club is a wonderful place to stay. We had a preferred suite on the beach. The room was luxurious and the staff was extremely friendly. We had lunch twice in the Golf Club Restaurant. Food was very good. The prices for food and cocktails was consistent with any establishment of this caliber (not too expensive). The hostess and several of the servers remembered us from our last visit which was six months ago! Impressive! I do wish they would return the coffeemakers to the rooms, though. We stayed at other hotels in Florida that had coffeemakers so I don't understand why the Club has removed them. BUT, that does not change my opinion of this fine resort.

I recently returned from a night at this hotel. My husband and I were in town to attend a concert, and I wanted him to have an enjoyable overnight stay. I was a guest at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club in 2018 and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this trip. When we arrived, we noticed that a lot of construction was taking place on the golf course and along other areas of the property. Upon checking in, I commented on the construction and requested to be assigned to a room away from it. I was informed that my room was overlooking the lagoon so I would not be near the construction. However, when my husband and I drove over to our room, much to our dismay, we looked out from our balcony and observed and heard bulldozers and construction actively taking place behind our room. Due to the noise, we were unable to use our balcony. While I should have taken the time to have returned to the reception area and requested to be relocated to another building, I thought it would not be that bad considering that we were only staying one night. We left the room and didn't return until late that evening. The following morning, I was awakened by a loud repeated beeping noise before 8 a.m. I asked my husband if an alarm clock was going off in in a nearby room. He told me that he had been awakened by the same horrid beeping noise. However, he informed me that it was not coming from a clock in an adjacent room. He explained that the beeping was caused by construction equipment backing up. Sure enough, I looked outside and noticed a bulldozer in operation. When I called the registration desk, I received an apology for the early morning noise and was told the hotel would normally move me to a different building, but they could not do so since I was checking out that day. She later called back and said the manager would deduct the resort fee(roughly $30) from my bill. While this was appreciated, it certainly didn't make up for the rude wakeup call. When I'm a guest at a hotel, especially one rated as highly as the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, my goals are to receive a decent night of sleep and to relax. Unfortunately, the construction hampered my ability to accomplish either objective.

Dear 56Deb, Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback about your recent stay. I am so sorry we were unable to provide you with an experience which exceeded your expectations. Please allow me to apologize for the disturbance caused by construction work taking place on our golf course. The Ocean Course, our signature golf course since 1928, was in need of an update since the last renovation had taken place in 1998. When it is completed later this summer, a spectacular golf experience will await our guests. During the project, our team has been working diligently to minimize any guest inconvenience however we clearly were not able to do this for you and your husband. We take your comments seriously and I have discussed them with our team to ensure similar situations do not occur in the future. Your repeat patronage is certainly appreciated. Please consider a return visit to Ponte Vedra Inn & Club soon so be may deliver a memorable stay experience which is more in line with your previous visit. Once again, I apologize for the difficulties you encountered during your stay and look forward to welcoming you back to Ponte Vedra Inn & Club very soon. Sincerely, Shaun O'Donnell Director of Resort Operations

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to break up our long drive back to South Florida from up north. We were on our honeymoon and heading back from staying in homes on mountain tops and in beach front properties where we did our own cooking, cleaning, etc. We came here to relax and do nothing, but our experience was poor from start to finish and left us with ruffled feathers. Upon checking in, I noticed our address was incorrect in the system. We asked the registration attendant if we could change it, to which she responded “it doesn’t really matter”... We wrote down the correct address anyway. The next day, we went to The Tavern for cocktails before dinner. The staff welcomed us on arrival (which was about the only thing they did for us). We waited an extremely long time in between drinks and felt as though we were being overlooked. Other tables to the left and right of us were checked on frequently, however we were flagging down staff after waiting 25 minutes to order a second drink. We are an affluent young couple, spending just as much money as anyone else drinking/dining in this establishment, and expected to be treated as equals. My husband was finally asked if we wanted another round and said yes - the waitress ran away before I could tell her I did not want to same drink. Ok, no problem. My husband approached the bar to correct the drink order which clearly upset the bar tender who displayed her frustration with a sigh of disgust. This is flat out unacceptable and cannot happen at a resort claiming to deliver a “5 diamond experience”. Regardless of our experience, a 20% gratuity on subpar service was applied to our bill. When guests book a reservation at resorts such as these, they expect to be treated with respect. I’m not asking to be waited on hand and foot, I’m simply asking for common courtesy. We joked as we left that it would have been better to go and eat Taco Bell then to give this place another dime. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Overall, we were looking forward to staying here and hoped it would become a place we could return to when traveling. Sadly, a sleeping bag on the beach would have been more enjoyable. I’ve truly received better service at the Starbucks drive thru. I can’t fathom how this place maintains such a high ranking. Get your act together.

I promised my 10 year old a trip to Ponte Vedra Inn for his birthday, and there was only one weekend that worked. Our rate was $612 per night for a single room in the Island House with a golf course view. The rooms are comfortable, but it is not luxury. Our bathtub had hair and dirt in it. The staff is average at best. Three summers ago the rate was $259 per night when we stayed in the main lodge in a nicer room. If you want to spend $600 per night and want the best, try The Cloister at Sea Island.

I am here now in one of their brand new oceanfront suites. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and you can feel the tradition oozing through everything here, which is amazing. The beach, restaurants and hospitality of the staff are amazing. However... I am extremely surprised by a few things. 1. We checked in at the Main building and when given our room at Payton House, drove over only to have no bell cart. Just some young guy in a golf cart who was going to physically carry all our belongings to the 2nd floor. It felt wrong so we assisted as we had quite a few bags. In a hotel of this caliber, a bell cart should be readily available at every guest house. 2. Our room is lovely - beautifully remodeled and the TV's are Samsung Smart TV's. However.... they only give you access via DirectTV to LIVE TV??? I'm not sure how many people still watch live TV, but we don't. Where is the remote for the tv to change the source? I called and they don't provide it. We had to rig an HDMI cable behind to hook up my Macbook in order to access any saved shows on XFinity or Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or anything else? A pretty big fail. 3. The coffee maker in the room. At least at other higher end hotels you get a Nespresso. Here it's the cheapest version of a knock off keurig that doesn't even make a full cup of coffee. Really, really bad. If you don't care about these things, it's no big deal, but we had just come after a long stay at a Ritz and the quality of amenities were a bit better. For a new room, it's lacking in some basic necessities provided at other high end hotels. On a positive - the absolute BEST hotel shower I've ever experienced, and the most comfortable bed.

We are on our final day of a four night stay. We were here for business for a conference. It is a beautiful facility. The grounds and golf course are beautiful. The beach is one of the prettiest that I have seen in the US. Service has been wonderful. Many of the rooms have balconies or patios that open to the beach. We originally were placed in a room with a partial ocean view with no balcony and windows that could not be opened so we couldn’t even hear the water. Since we did not buy our rooms, they were purchased by our organization that was hosting the conference, I was unaware that they had paid for the full ocean view room. I went to reception without knowing this and asked if we could be moved. I explained that coming from an landlocked state, we don’t often get to enjoy the sea and that we find it soul nourishing. They tried but couldn’t move us that evening and told me to come back the next day. We debated staying in our first room because it was lovely. However when I mentioned it to our host she informed me that they had paid for the full view. So I went to reception our second day and asked if they had anything, without mentioning that we should have been in an ocean view room from the beginning. They again kindly worked to find us another room. We were moved within half an hour to another lovely room with a balcony. Every employee has been courteous. Sandra who is one of the people who have been helping with our meals was a server extraordinaire. Our first lunch I ordered 1/2 sweet 1/2 unsweetened tea. The next day as they were preparing lunch for part of our group, she found me and told me that she had already prepared my tea. When I told her I was unfortunately not eating there she made it to go for me and got drinks for others in our group to take with us. I would describe the resort as a clean and luxurious place with a kind attentive staff.

My husband had business down in Jacksonville and we wanted some R&R also. We had a 5 night stay with view of the beach. Great staff that greeted us with masks on. They took us to our room and we unpacked. Very spacious, couch, chair and table plus porch with chairs and tables. We had breakfast a couple of times there and food was delicious. Tried their breakfast buffet and a lot of food to get you going. The host, whose name escapes me, was always ensuring we needed. Francis was a great waiter with good recommendations for the Inn to eat at along with other restaurants outside of the Inn. In addition, the waitress, Cookie at the Happy Hour bar was attentive and had good recommendations for wine and another restaurant for dinner North Beach Fish Camp. Overall the beaches were cleaned every day which was great for walking. We rented two lounge chairs and an umbrella fir the day on the beach which was perfect. Overall a great place to stay and ready to go back next year!

I was there for 4 nights from Aug 8 to 12. The hotel pretend to be a 5 stars hotel, but to me is a 3 star if you are generous. It is run down property in urgent need of repairs and maintenance. They charge a resort fee and on top they try to rip you off charging $15 for a rusted beach chair and $15 for a torn umbrella. The bar Tavern is another rip off..$ 24 for a burger and the cocktails in the price list shows $14, I order a Negroni and charged me for each ingredient for a total of $21. The adult pool is in total disrepair. The chairs need to be replaced, the umbrellas have holes in the fabric, the walls surrounding the pool are spiderwebbed. The management is totally absent.

The rooms in the main building are second floor and up if I recall there are only three floors of rooms in the main building. Rooms are very nice and being in the main building puts you where the shops, bar a restaurant are There is a nice coffee shop outside the elevators on the first floor Enjoy
